Two Guys Who Needed Big Plays

September 27th, 2020

Impressive catch.

Joe has already written about not being in the RoJo camp. And Joe was getting a feeling the Bucs were going to wash their hands of O.J. Howard after the season.

But just when Joe was ready to write them off, they each made a play.

Howard was already having a rotten game. His penalty was a typing Bucs-beating-Bucs play that helped kill a drive in the first quarter. But damned if he didn’t make up for it with a key play in a touchdown drive in the second quarter.

The Bucs took over at the Bucs-44 with just under five minutes left in the half. Brady threw deep down the right sideline and Howard and Josey Jewell were batting hard. Howard actually was interfered on the play but he fought and caught a big pass one-handed for a 33-yard gain.

That may be Howard’s best play as a pro. He had a damn good one last year but Howard actually played and looked pissed off on the play.

If that is what it takes for Howard to take his game to another level, to play PO’ed, then someone needs to kick him in the midsection before every kickoff.

If Howard can continue to play like that he will be a very rich Bucs tight end next year.

As for RoJo, him going all Mike Alstott was clearly his best play as a pro.

Three plays after Howard’s big catch, RoJo took a handoff up the middle for what looked to be a loss. But damn if he didn’t keep churning and kept churning and kept churning and pushed the pile and pushed the pile some more, and before you know it he had a nine-yard gain and gave the Bucs a 3rd-and-1 on the Broncos-5.

That play helped set up park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady’s one-yard looping pass to Mike Evans (a pass that Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston never mastered).

If RoJo can run angry like that, he will be a valuable piece.

It was so refreshing to see two guys who underwhelmed through of their careers step up with two huge athletic plays help the Bucs take a commanding 20-point lead.

If the Bucs are going to do anything this year, they need more plays like that from O.J. and RoJo.

    Captain weenie noodle armed Brady

produced ZERO POINTS in the 2nd half

This BUCS OFENSE SUCKS can never beat a good team.

Brady is a liabilty only with the
ability to be a game manager cause he

has no zip on his passes anymore.

    Face it bucs fans…….Brady Sucks

    and is truly washed up.

  2. CJ Says:

Only thing washed up is this trash take… you sir are sped

  3. Rod Munch Says:

I’m desperate for attention so I’m going to copy and paste something that is shocking, then morons are going to respond to that post with outrage…

    Repeat.

Wow, anthem again with the wonderful positive attitude. Hardly think the second half struggles were his fault, and that garbage about his arm strength needs to be put to bed now. His arm has not been the issue.

  5. JimmyJack Says:

I loved the way we moved the ball in the first Q. Brady just eating up everything underneath. We got everybody involved then Brady starts destroying them downfield in the 2nd. Anybody calling Brady noodle arm is clearly a troll at this point.

  6. JimmyJack Says:

3rd Q we reverted back to stupid mistakes all over again. Dropped balls pentalties.

We seem to make a few less mistakes but this has to get better if we wanna be a real contender.

Anthem – take your meds and read “Football for Dummies.” It’s available on Amazon. It will help you understand the basics of football.

The taste of victory is delicious!! Haters gonna hate nothings ever good enough wah!!wah!!wah!! The team is just getting started. All I was hoping for was at least to be .500 after the first 4 games. Because every game they are going to get better. So im as happy as can be.

  9. Christopher Schiefen Says:

Nick Foles among others won SBs as game managers. Brad Johnson was a game manager. This was about getting a guy who can ensure 7 years of roster building doesn’t get thrown away with dumb picks. Anyone who doesn’t see that is not a Bucs fan.

  10. Eric Says:

Rojo and Howard talent is not the issue a coaching staff who can’t use them is!!

  11. Bojim Says:

anthem. Eat it. Bucs won and your sorry?

  12. mark2001 Says:

Brady QB rating 115. Enough said.

  13. Steven Says:

The replay on the rojo play, looked like he was being carried through the pile by the oline.

  14. Brandon Says:

Everyone so eager to give all carries to Fournette who has done very little outside of two carries on the season. Fournette is almost definitely running for under two yards per carry if you take out last game’s 46 and 25 yard runs. You can’t win like that.

  15. Bosch Says:

This team is for real. What do I sar that. Because virtually every playe can be that difference maker

  16. SOEbuc Says:

You seriously think we have a running game with Jones II? You’re trippin. He had a few good runs, a dropped pass, no TDs. Fournette would kill Jones numbers if he got as many carries as a starting RB.

I was really happy to see Gronk being a blocking TE and finally getting some grabs. Comin along. But that’s your boy Tom. You gotta connect on that corner end zone pass.
