Turnovers Turn To Loss

September 13th, 2020

“Can’t blame me!”

The Bucs led the NFL in turnover last year.

So the team decided to keep this proud tradition going by turning the ball over three times. That led to 20 Saints points.

The Bucs lost by 11.

Two picks by park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady were bad enough, including a pick-six. The pick-six truly was a gaffe by Brady, but the first pick may have been simply miscommunication. Still, Brady gets the turnover by box-score rules.

The botched kick return, what the hell? Again, don’t give Joe this nonsense of lack of preparation. At first Joe wanted to roast this Mazzi Wilkins who should have pounced on the ball or let it roll out of bounds on kick return.

Then again, why was Mike Edwards trying so hard to be a hero? If you have to jump for a kick return and you have a teammate behind you, let it go.

Can’t pin this sloppy loss on Jameis Winston. He’s no longer on the roster.

It’s the fact that Winston was in the building.

It wasnt lack of preperation……actually it was. If you didnt see one team better prepared out there today you gotta be tested by doctors

I blame this toxic site for the loss

let us hope this will be growing pains, and things will tighten up dramatically next sunday, but if they don’t, well, we may be in for a long year, and a complete meltdown and rebuild, and it’s bad if this is coming to mind after the first game, that’s for damn sure, glad i got the capt with me to settle down

  9. DBS Says:

Screw you and your Winston carp. Nobody said it was. You are and have been butt hurt over it. And the above. statement removes all doubt.

  10. LVMYBUCS Says:

Joe I think your mad that JW is no longer on this team. Deal with it man that loser is gone and is a third string QB who was passed up by 99% of NFL teams. Im sorry your dream player didn’t pan out but dang u sound bitter after one game.

  11. Wesley Says:

    One game doesn’t mean squat.

  12. Rod Munch Says:

If Winston had the game Brady had today, all the nutjobs would be demanding he’s cut and they’d be saying the season is over.

Well, all the nutjobs are saying the season is over but I haven’t seen them demanding that Brady is cut. I guess if your backup is bad enough, even the low IQ dolts out there will stick by someone, even for 1 whole game (new record).

But what were the two turnovers? Just like with Winston, I like to actually know what happened rather than just blame the QB.

On the first there clearly a miscommunication, Evans cut off the route, Tommy didn’t think he was going to cut off the route.

On the 2nd INT, I’m not sure, but considering it was Watson, I assume he screwed up the route and ran it too flat.

But what we really need are all the potential INTs, that was a favorite stat with the Winston haters, yet I didn’t see anyone talking about it today.

  13. Elita Vita Says:

    Special Teams Suck!

  14. Ricky Says:

The only good thing was the pass rush came only on Donovan Smith side and I I think our secondary played good.

  15. Major Says:

I expected this! Qb with 2 Ints, taking hits no OLine, no running game. I am glad Winston won’t eat this BS. The Bucs suck and the Head Coach is a MORON and snake for letting Winston play hurt and stabbing him by letting him hang out to dry. BTW all the Winston haters please come out now and talk your crap.

  16. Buccaneerie Says:

I am Charlie Brown….every year I think that Lucy will not pull my football away last second, but that bitch can’t change.

  17. Miller5252 Says:

Hey Rod Munch, You know why everyone would have said Winston would need to be cut if this was his day??? It’s because he did this every game for 5 years. If Brady does this game after game like Winston did then the same thing would be said of him. Trying to compare 1 game from Brady and 5 years of the same thing from Winston is absolutely bat $hit crazy!

  18. Buccaneerie Says:

He did have the game that Brady and the Bucs had AND almost every game for 5 fugly years! In response to……..Rod Munch Says:

If Winston had the game Brady had today, all the nutjobs would be demanding he’s cut and they’d be saying the season is over.

  19. Christopher Schiefen Says:

As the camera was panning at our kick off team before the pop kick, Edwards just looked checked out, hands on hips. Probably because even Adams is ahead of him in the depth chart. Queue hero ball.

  20. mark2001 Says:

So again Jameis. Who doesn’t think Winston is worth his one million dollar contract? I do. Sure he is happy about the outcome. But he didn’t contribute to the win, unless it was regarding some intel. That being said, he certainly didn’t lose like we did today…and since he hasn’t gotten in trouble off the field yet this year, and still has a job, I guess it is a win in a number of ways.

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Winston had 4 INTs at home last year against the Saints, and literally none were on him. OJ did his around the world dribble on the first one, the 2nd one was on the last play of the first half when Godwin knocked it straight into the air as he slid to catch it, the third one was when the Bucs went for it on 4th down, at their own 28 I believe, in the 4th quarter down by multiple scores and rather than take a sack, he at least tried to get a 1st down. The 4th and final INT was with like 17 seconds to go when he’s trying to get a score.

Meanwhile did you see Matt Ryan today? On 4th and 4, in Seattle territory, down by multiple scores, in the 4th quarter, instead of trying to make something happen, he took a sack. Because, as we know, the INT column is the only thing that matters, not context.

Anywho, I’m OK with the Brady signing, said so all offseason, but the dirtbags whining about Winston constantly are now all shutting up when they’d be rioting (peacefully protestings if you’re in the MSM) right now.

  22. Athlete Says:

Hey Miller5252 & Buccaneerie,,,,,, do you not see that Jameis did it with the Buccaneers for these past five years? Brady didn’t have an opportunity to make those mistakes. All you have to do is look at coaching. It’s a simple concept hopefully you can understand this!

  23. Rod Munch Says:

mark2001 – If you have a chance to get the GOAT, someone that will turn the entire image of your team around, you have to take it. I don’t begrudge the Bucs for doing that, but boy did I hate them not making an attempt to resign Winston once it was obvious there was no big money deal out there. Could have easily sold him on the fact he lost his job for a year or two, too the greatest of all time. The kid is still just 26, coming off a season with over 5000 yards and was 2nd in TDs in the league. I’d love to see them try to resign him this upcoming offseason — again, as a backup for Brady (assuming he’s back) – because I do think an even better Winston will emerge from this.

What I said before Winston even signed with NO that the worse case scenario in all of this would be for Winston to end up in NO, sit on the bench for a year, then put up 40 points a game on the Bucs for the next 15-years. Considering the Bucs are the Bucs, you can normally count on the worst case scenario happening.

  24. yucboy Says:

On the kickoff return that was muffed the kick looked like it was going out of bounds which would have been a penalty and give the Bucs the ball on the 40 yard line, yet 2 players crash into each other trying to chase it down lol

  25. ATrain Says:

    So 2 INT

    Jump on the Winston bandwagon

If Winston is Soooo GREAT the why is he a Minimum Paid bench Player?????

    EXCUSES don’t win games
If he could Play he would be playing

Also this is a BUCS fan site WHY DOES JOE PUT UP A SAINTS PICTURE

  26. Rod Munch Says:

Athlete – Did you see that Winston, from 2015, had the worst defense in football AND the worst kicking game in football AND played the hardest schedule. The offense set all the team records under Winston (except for turnovers) while the defense was historically bad — yet dopes complained about the record setting QB. Trying to pretend this team lost because of Winston is pure idiocy. This has been an extremely bad defense for a very long time, and last year they ended the year playing well — at the same time Winston lost his top 3 WRs and had Justin Watson starting for him. Did you notice Watson today? He cause one of the INTs for Brady – which is where he left off last year.

Brady is a good signing, but man, the people who just pretend like the teams issues were all on Winston are just very very low IQ individuals.

  27. Matt Says:

    Rod munch is a dork

  28. BigHog Says:

There was no miscommunication ..it was an errant pass, you know not on the money…HENNY AND HOG ..get yo-self some , THAT YOU PEOPLE MOVEMENT is going after Leftwitch but but but I didn’t see him on the field today !!!!

  29. Solo Nolo Says:

Hello Bucs Fans, I was never a Tampa fan just started following them when they drafted Jameis. I stopped following the team after they let Jameis go and signed Brady. I told you it was a bad move. Many of the people who hated on Jameis simply hated him because he is black and blamed him for everything. The truth is while he made mistakes it was a team issue. How did the Old GOAT do today ?? Enjoy being irrelevant for the next decade (again) and remember BLM. Colin Kapernick was right, and TRUMP is a moron. See Ya !

  30. Matt Says:

Sorry Rod, I take that back.. my mistake I thought you we’re getting political.

  31. BuccoDav Says:

Get over it.. Winston is gone, let it go. He made his share (and then some) of mistakes but there are other issues on this team. Offensive line and discipline are 2 that come to mind…

  32. Curry-Winston Says:

Don’t be mad wit Joe, Joe is simply pointing out facts…plus stop worrying about Winston I’m sure he’ll be fine lmao!! Can’t believe yall gave Sean Payton the leading passer for pennies on a dollar for a 43 year old Joe Biden type rental lol talking bout delusional wow

  33. Ricky Says:

I forgot about the Winston nut huggers showing up if we lose. I think the team is on a good way. They still need time to get it together. If it wasn’t the saints we win today. We will beat them in the championship game.

  34. Ram727 Says:

I love that you knuckleheads gave up a young franchise QB for an old washed up QB that threw two int including a pick six. The bucs management sucks as usual and y’all just keep drinking the kool aid

  35. Pewter Power Says:

The hell we mentioning Winston after an opening day lose. All of you idiots defending Winston stop acting like because of own game with no real offseason that means Brady will throw 30 picks and 7 pick 6’s. The excuse last year was it takes a quarterback half a season to get comfortable. I don’t think Brady needs that but he does need more than one games I mean seriously

  36. John Galt Says:

“But what we really need are all the potential INTs, that was a favorite stat with the Winston haters, yet I didn’t see anyone talking about it today.”

    We know why.

“Athletic anxiety” doesn’t exist anymore now that the QB is melanin deficient.

  37. TheBradyBunch Says:

Stop blaming Evans on that first pick. That ball was 10 feet over Evans head and in front of Evans had completed the route. Brady had a number of horrible throws today and I am underwhelmed you say the least.

  38. Curry-Winston Says:

Ur missing the point…BA specifically told Winston 2 air it out pretty much every play hence the 5000 yds and 30ints…what ever happen to no risk it no biscuit ??? smh fake coaching at its finest… FYI Winston made mike Evans look better than he actually is…prove me wrong, Y’all have the GOAT!!!!! Lmao

  39. Matt Says:

At least Jameis was exciting to watch.. that crap was boring. Brady has no arm, he can’t throw the ball on a rope over 15 yards. Yeah I think they’ll be decent but they made a big mistake.

  40. Curry-Winston Says:

Pathetic fans so tired of losing with the 25 yr old with da same horrible online and even worse running game but preach patients with the 43 yr old and a supposed super dream team roster, I’m confuse, where’s the outrage lol

  41. ATrain Says:

    Solo go watch the Saints

Maybe you can get a glimpse of Winston on the Bench

Winston just like Kapernick SUCK and that’s why they are not playing

You think Teams give a crap about your color
NO WINNING cause that’s what makes Money
The CoLor the owners care about is GREEN …

Sure are a lot of Millionaire Black players for a racist sport

You are what’s wrong with America … Don’t get what you want Blame something else

  42. BucsFan90 Says:

How quickly fans forget Bucs had a losing record in games where Jameis threw no interceptions. For ex. in the 1st saints game last season Jameis didnt, in the words of BA, play superman. Played risk-free, threw for 2 tds 0 ints yet the defense somehow still gave up 30+ points. So you have to ask yourself who kept encouraging Jameis to “let it fly” and why? Why was Jameis not stopped from playing with a broken thumb ? Alot of the ints last year came from receivers running wrong route as Godwin said at the end of the season. Plenty bounced off the receiver hands or got deflected. Yet who did HC blame in the offeseason and who got his career nearly sabotaged cause the Bucs wanted him back as cheap insurance for Brady. Confirmation bias is real folks. Repeat a lie often enough (or loud enough in BA’s case) and watch it become “fact”

  43. Durr Says:

Winston lovers talk about him like he is a future HOF QB. Dude is gone from the Bucs forever.

    And Florida state still sucks.

  44. TJ Says:

Git er’ done, TB12…Git er’ done!!!!

  45. Christopher Schiefen Says:

Why has Joe twice now called the kick returner Mazzi Wilkins? And he says Bruce is sloppy?

  46. LM Says:

I see JoeTabloidFan is still spewing nonsense sniffing Winston A$$ crack!
You still can’t get over yo boy Holding That Clipboard. Did you see him today Joe? Holding That Clipboard?? Get used to it Pal LMAO

One Buc Violating, Refridge-invading, Dumb As Hell Lee Deheffer thinks he’s funny but he’s a straight up a Soy Boy Clown.

  47. lambchop Says:

I like how the Winston homers all come out of the cracks with the first game under Brady. Get over it, Winston had 5 years or turnovers because of poor decision making. Brady’s style of offense is based entirely on timing and not athleticism, it’ll take time for the team to get on the same page. You can call it an excuse, but I don’t. A loss is a loss and there’s no sugar coating it. But, I saw enough to know these guys were not on the same page and it’s just a matter of time.

It’s not like we’re the Browns with an all-star cast and only put up 6 points.

  48. Mike Johnson Says:

I said Brady was over the hill and he looked like it today. I gotta hand it to Bellacheat, He knows when to hold’em and when to fold’em. He knew Brady’s mileage was getting old. I told you guys back in March Brady was a bad aquisition along with his sidekick Gronk. But everybody thought I was crazy for sayin Brady’s done. When..not if he goes down, you are gonna wish we had a backup. Gabbbert gonna stink it up real nice.i

  49. Bosch Says:

Brady and Bucs will redeem themselves against panthers followed by an upward trajectory. This was their preseason. It is now behind them.

  50. 941bucsfan Says:

what happened to the “Good incompletions” lol

  51. JOM 32708 Says:

You can argue the discussion about Jameis is irrelevant; he’s no longer at Tampa Bay so time to move on. On the other hand, the discussion is relevant in several respects.

This has been a crappy franchise for a long while – really since the early 2000s. It was crappy when Jameis arrived but any fair-minded fan has to admit that the offense improved significantly during the Jameis years. That improvement came despite zero running game, a piss-poor offensive line and penalties galore. Jameis had a lot to do with that improvement despite his interceptions.

These same weaknesses turned up again today. Poor blocking, penalties and turnovers. Until these are fixed, the Bucs will not win consistently. And with a 43 year old relatively immobile QB, without serious improvement it’s only a matter of time before he’s injured.

The Bucs got rid of a dynamic, but error prone young QB, and traded for one of the best all-time. The experiment will not result in a better outcome if the fundamental issues aren’t fixed. It could end up even worse if Brady is injured.

  52. Buccfan37 Says:

Winston looked fit on the sideline. Brady looked grossly overpaid.

  53. Jason Mclaurin Says:

Winston had five years of turnovers because this organization failed to create a culture of balance around the guy. Tom Brady feeling it now as well. From day one the local media and ownership thought a guy who scouts clearly said needs a running game to succeed could succeed without a running game. He actually hit the stat barriers they were looking for but you can’t blame him for the results. Mike Evans is done as a buccaneer book it. Brady ain’t leading like Winston or Bucs QB in the past. Brady isn’t inspiring and gets angry quick when he’s down. The blame game didn’t even make it to the media with the prima Donna beach boys Brady and Gronk. Brady is just what Belicheck portrayed boring. Pat’s ain’t boring with Cam though and look like they may win another. I’m with Munch on this with Winston. I would love to see them go after him again once this stafff fails and build around him the right way.
