Some Offense

September 13th, 2020

Coach ’em up, Coach.

New quarterback, same ol’ sh!t!

For a team that struggles like hell to open the season, the Bucs go to New Orleans and get absolutely punked by the Saints.

For a dream team of an offense, he looked more like Sabby the Goat at times behind center than a guy who is glossed “GOAT.”

Joe doesn’t want to hear about lack of an offseason. Was it a factor? Probably. Did it stop young quarterbacks around the league? Kyler Murray beat the 49ers. Joe Burrow, a rookie for crying out loud, didn’t seem to struggle too much.

Last Joe checked, every team in the NFL had a short offseason.

And neither the Cardinals nor the Bengals have a loaded dream team of an offense like the Bucs do. Hell, Aaron Rodgers, an old man, himself, has more bums at receiver for the most part and he tore up the Vikings.

Ronald Jones? The Bucs fed him like he was Maurice Jones-Drew. Less than four yards a carry was the result. But of course, the Cult of Ronald Jones will try to tell you Jones ran better than Walter Payton today.

Please Leonard Fournette, learn the playbook quickly.

Was it just Joe, or was foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski terribly underutilized today?

Very disappointing the offense wheezed worth than a kid with asthma. With all the investment this franchise has put into the offense, very poor performance.

Sad!

  3. Lamarcus Says:

Brady is straight trash. Dink and dunk BS

  4. Oneilbucs Says:

I told yall Bruce Arians offense is out dated . I don’t want to hear nothing about the offensive line because yall said we were ranked at the top and it was Jamies fault. Bruce Arians is the problem with this team his offense is out dated . Again if you can’t run the ball you are going to lose .

  5. james west Says:

brutal, i hope the rematch is much better

  6. Pewter Power Says:

All the penalties, false starts and crap they made major changes to the offense and we have no identity because we didn’t line up like that last year. Didnt like the way this offense looked at all. 2 weeks to prepare you think we’d have a better game plan

  7. SteelStudBuc Says:

I guess its clean house and npuppy parade this week

  8. stpetebucsfan Says:

Patience grasshopper. It’s the FIRST FREAKING game. Our talent lined up evenly with them except above the neck.

We are STILL a stooopid team. Until the Bucs get their heads out of their rectums it’s going to look like this.

Special teams again are sooo far from special…they contributed to a ten point swing…the blocked FG and that moronic play on the short kick which immediately forced our D back out onto the field in the Buc’s redzone.

  9. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Still too early in the season to make a judgment, especially considering a shorten offseason with no preseason games and so many new “key” players on offense to jell as a team.

  10. Miller5252 Says:

No Ronald Jones fan but you can’t run to the left side when your “superstar” left tackle couldn’t block a pop warner player today. Everything looked like last year all over again today. A few good things, but way more bad and bone head plays.

Tampa should just bench ME13 when we play the saints since he can never do anything against them.

  11. Bosch Says:

That was preseason. Now let’s go!

  12. Bosch Says:

That was preseason. Now let’s go!

  13. Rico 210 Says:

It was ugly no doubt. Lots of mistakes. Still 12-4 I say.
    Go Bucs

  14. Kobe Faker Says:

    “LOL!

    Kobe Faker

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Joe I saw RoJo miss a crease a sidestep and an opening. And then he missed a block(sorta). Yeah I’m already ready for Leonard.

Regardless we need better QB play or it doesnt matter.

And we also need some Recievers. Our reciever looked awful today. Why even be a reciever if you dont make a catch all day?Yeah we got problems with every position group on offense if seems

  16. the_end Says:

I mean Brady was so freakin bad today, he actually almost overthrew his TD pass to OJ and he was FREAKIN WIDE OPEN!!!

  17. tbbucs3 Says:

Question. Has anybody every seen a Bill Belichick team looked so poorly coach?

Arians and his staff are so overrated.

  18. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

We beat ourselves. Simple as that.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Rojo 3.88 ypc
    Fournette 1ypc

    Kamara 1.3 ypc

Saints as a team rushing 2.41 ypc

    Get off Rojo’s back….

We lost because of turnovers, penalties & special teams…..not Rojo

  20. Zzbuc Says:

    Sloppy very sloppy!!
    I didnt exepct otherwise….
Donovan Smith Govea me Big time headache

  21. the_end Says:

    @Miller5252

Yes. D. Smith was complete trash today.

    D. Smith = Swinging Salon doors

  22. LVMYBUCS Says:

Wow one game and you all already want to call it a season over. please guys things will get better.

  23. Youngbucs Says:

I love keep talking 1st gm in 9 months hate will fuel this team

  24. the_end Says:

    @LVMYBUCS

You must be a new fan or something. Because if you were not, myself and the other folks on here have seen this song and dance before. This is why I never fell for the hype. This franchise is truly downtrodden.

  25. Roy T. Buford Says:

This D is for real. The O was surreal. We KNOW they why they were off and we also know they will get it together.

Gronk wasn’t ready either. Looked lethargic on his routes. Yes, they spent too much time on RoJo.

They played the top contender for the SB, and were outcoached, out finessed, out thought. Personally, I expected this. Save to two or three plays, the second half was pretty good to build on.

    Not worried at all.

  26. ElioT Says:

It’s not that the Bucs lost.

    It’s the way they lost.

Combine that with the Saints totally punking them…

    Horrific start.

The Saints own the Bucs a**!

  27. the_end Says:

    @Roy

    You should be sir.

  28. JayBucsBoi Says:

Over-reaction Sunday, you kats can’t even wait until Monday. We’ll win the next four while working our continuity then be ready by time we meet the Packers.
The Saints tried to run up the scoreboard, like they always do, with that last TD attempt. We’ll see what’s happening come our next match up with cocky Sean Payton and his squad.

We will still own this division! You flipn knee jerk Bucs fans!

  29. Cooler head Says:

So what did everyone expect? We had no live plays against other defenses… we made dumb mistakes and yes so did Brady but there was enough to see what we could be. It’s extremely disappointing to see all of the fiat weather fans call this the same ol’ Bucs. A lot of people of said it already we had no preseason and to expect everything to be clicking game 1 is short-sighted. Brady isn’t Winston who to his credit could extend plays with his legs. I love the Joes and I’m not sure if it was Lee or Steve but to not understand that we were going to look disjointed is odd. Sure Donovan was extremely disappointing but man the defense short of Dean not finishing on that play was stout. I was at that Saints game last year and we were outmatched from beginning to end. That wasn’t the case today. The irrational side of me says cut Mike Edwards tomorrow but it’s a long season. Please keep in mind we lost a heart breaker to NO in 2002 and went on to go 12-4. I disagree that the secondary got destroyed short of Dean we were solid against a super bowl contender. Settle down or find a new team.

  30. Bucs Fan Since ‘76 Says:

    Calm down FFS.

  31. Pete Says:

    Same coaching!

  32. Carrollwood Mafia Says:

It was Belichick for the past 20 years…

  33. Kgh4life Says:

BA has been a mediocre head coach for the Bucs so far, i put this loose on him.

  34. JimmyJack Says:

Jay the Bucs played terrible today.

It was mistakes all day. It was loser football. It’s not overreaction its valid…..agree with your premise about winning the next 4 then smashing the Packers. They gotta do something like that to live up to the hype.

They didnt come close to living up to the promise today. We weren’t even competitive.

  35. JimmyJack Says:

I though we could win. But the real expectation was the Bucs would give us a good game.

The Bucs gave us a bad game and didnt live up to expectations.

  36. christina olive Says:

Agreed Joe, We tried to force Rojo way to much instead of letting the run game develop from a great passing game. I’m not sure why we didn’t use our big boys till the end of the game while Evans was pulling two defenders 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know why David waited till after halftime to join the D lol ugh I certainly don’t know why that dumbass decided to become a punt returner when it wasn’t his job 😩 way to many mistakes, Dean looked lost a couple times & on ST’s We got some work to do! Go Bucs!

  37. DalvinCookRules Says:

You could’ve switched the Saints and Bucs players today and the Saints would’ve still won–probably by a LOT more.

We can no longer blame the offensive talent–it is the very offensive coaching on that side of the ball.

  38. FirstTimePoster Says:

Bucs fans. SMH. One game, on the road, against the division champs. The defense came to play. Much better attitude. Brady looked good and bad. Pick six was all on him. Never expected much from Gronk and still don’t. Same goes for McCoy. I don’t know what the hell that kick off f!@kup was about. Take away those two gifts and they were competitive. Long season guys and that’s a good thing.

  39. Frank Pillow Says:

This O is built for a vertical passing game and it’s being run by a 43 yard old QB who plays the game horizontally—and folks are shocked at the result?

  40. Aubpierce Says:

Tampabaybucfan is exactly correct. Kamara had about 20yds, Fournette looked as slow as a slug compared to Rojo. Joe your love affair with James and the amount of beer you imply you drink has fogged your mind. Fire the special team coordinator and the offensive coordinator along with the left tackle. Rojo almost had as many yards rushing as the whole Saints team.

  41. Oneilbucs Says:

Youngbucs what happened I told you that Bruce Arians is a out dated coach . The thing is Brady will not be able to put up the points that Jamies did . I told you that if you can’t run the ball it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is .

  42. EA Says:

Very good points Joe, cause for concern no doubt about it, offense looked way out of sink considering the goat and the weapons????

  43. catcard202 Says:

Only week 1, but the overall results look all too familiar.

  44. Oneilbucs Says:

    Defense done well

  45. Greg Says:

@kobe. how dare you call anyone out with your on the record claim of never posting again if so an so happened! I don’t have to say you are a hypocrite as you did that all by yourself!

  46. TJ Says:

    Tompa Bray!!! 👍🏾

  47. AR Says:

Imagine paying Winston starting QB money. 😂😂😂

  48. YAT Says:

1 week and you all freak out, and one thing your missing joe, when you bring in a QB in a new offense, its gonna take time to get accustomed his new offense, don’t give me the other teams didn’t have any issues with no offseason, its 1 week, next week those teams that won, could look terrible. 1 game doesn’t determine the entire season! what’s the difference between the saints and the bucs? Saints have continuity and chemistry, you really thought you can add a new QB to the fold and you can wave a magic wand and everything would be perfect and seamless? really Joe? give me a break!

we have things to work on obviously. Defense was great today,(score defiantly doesn’t tell the whole story there) offense needs to work out the kinks and figure out the LG position, or it will be a long season. Special Teams needs to play better. (as usual) need to clean up those penalties as well.. but things are not all doom and gloom. This fan base freaks out more than any other one out there

and yes Brady was average today, but we saw flashes of what the offense can be, it wasn’t consistent, you may think its a cliche thing to say but it takes time, and whether you like it or not, its a fact. when the season ends and we are still the same ol Bucs, fine! you win, and you can complain all you want until then chill out!!

  49. Robert Says:

Kyler Murray is playing in the same offense he did in college, let alone in his rookie season. And if you dont think that DHop. Fitz and Kenyon Drake arent an all star offense you’ve had to much big storm beer. BTW the chargers stink. You must have forgotten they had the #6 pick in last years draft.

  50. Buccfan37 Says:

Saints look Super Bowl worthy. Bucs not so much.

  51. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Rojo is the best running back on that team!! Fornette went 5 for 5 dude!! You don’t need to know a playbook to say “hey take this ball and run it that way!!” … Rojo was the best running back on that team yesterday and will continue to be!! The online did NOTHING for him as usual!! He had to make 2 jukes just to get out the backfield on every play!! And the saints didn’t even load up the box most the day!!
