Refreshing Change

September 27th, 2020

When the Bucs signed Tom Brady, they didn’t need him to be Superman or deliver any incredible heroics to get to the postseason.

They just needed him to do what the last QB couldn’t.

That’s what the Bucs got today with Brady completing 25-of-38 passes for 297 yards, 3 touchdowns and no turnovers. And he didn’t without relying on a punishing running game.

No, Brady wasn’t perfect. He held the ball too long at least twice and his accuracy wasn’t as consistent as Bucco Bruce Arians and fans likely expect. But he was good, and he didn’t cough up the football and take foolish chances.

It’s such a refreshing change.

Brady found his tight ends. Shocking! And he still was victimized by a couple of drops again.

On Wednesday, Arians said it would be at least another few games before the offense was where it needs to be because Brady would be better once he went through various kinds of defenses in his new offense.

Joe can’t wait to see it.

  2. Rod Munch Says:

Brady would be helped out by Leftwich not constantly putting him in 2nd and long by running it up the guy on 1st down for no gain.

I was happy however to see the team finally get the TEs involved. So if that was Leftwich’s doing, good job. It took 19 games to get it done, but at least it got done.

  3. Wesley Says:

Gotta get the ball into Evans hands more.

  4. FortMyersDave Says:

Gotta love the 28 dah 10 curb stomping. Yes, Denver will probably be a 4-12 bottom feeder which will make headlines as Elway bellyaches but this win was solid and convincing. How may times do you remember the Bucs having a win in the pocket during the 3rd quarter???? Not many since the glory years! Go Bucs!

  5. NPRSageBoy Says:

    Tell me again: Where’s JayMiss?

    Peace, out

  6. Patrick Says:

Brady did what he was supposed to do. I’ll take the win.

As Belicheck would say: “now it’s onto the Chargers”

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Wesley – I’m not so sure Evans is fully healthy, he looked sluggish getting off the line today. Would have to see more than the TV view to see if he was getting open, but I’m thinking his hamstring isn’t 100%.

Although, even with that, he’s on pace for 21 TDs, so that’s a hell of a year.

  8. JimmyJack Says:

And give it up to the OL. Brady had a ton of time today. The Broncos didnt have Von Miller but they are still well built up front.

  9. Ndog Says:

Yeah he also didn’t have to outscore the other team cause the defense was getting destroyed by the other team ie D. Jones and the Giants last year but yeah spread your bias little narrative just like the lapdog Stroud does. All you media members are the same, kiss the liars a$$ to get stories. It’s disgusting.

  10. FortMyersDave Says:

Solid win everyone! Bucs look like the real deal y’all! Next up the Lightning. Get the Cup gentleman!

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The sacks were mostly coverage sacks & Brady didn’t throw into coverage or cough up the ball on the sacks….
Last year, that would have been 2 less sacks but 2 more turnovers….

  12. Arians > Licht Says:

look good for their 3rd preseason game. Almost in football shape.

  13. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog we just finshed playing our third game of 2020.

And you are talkiing about game 2 of 2019? And you were were still upset and whining about that year old game a week ago…..2 weeks in a row whining about last years game……..Dude you seriously are deranged.

You couldnt handle Winston. He legitimately broke you as a fan. And most likely as a person as well. You need a ambulance bro

  14. Ndog Says:

JimmyJack the below from the article is referencing last year.

They just needed him to do what the last QB couldn’t.

So I brought the old QB up?

The real question is can you read?

  15. Youngbucs Says:

Yessssss the defense didn’t have to overcome turnovers and bad Field position like last year!!!!! It’s a new day the human turnover is gone!!!! Ima be a troll for the day you like that Ndog you loser.

  16. JimmyJack Says:

You are deranged bro and if you need to see the difference look at the 3rd and 14 sack and tell me Winston would gag up the football there and take points off the board.

But you will never admitt that and acknowledge the difference because you are completely deranged and need a ambulance.

  17. Bojim Says:

    Shut up dog boy.

  18. Swampbuc Says:

This ndog poster doesn’t know anything about football do they?

  19. Ndog Says:

Keep closing your eyes people and seeing what you want to see but you know we can’t beat any good teams with this QB, he simply isn’t good enough unless our online dominates an entire game.

I need to overnight as i dont want to waste the flavor for you

Yah. He blew up. Maybe you should sit out of these conversations now.

    Brady…115 QB rating…no need for debate…good game.

  22. tickrdr Says:

Does anyone remember any times when the very first offensive play was an INT?

Today the game NEVER felt in doubt………. for the entire game.
Nothing was perfect, but everything seems to be trending in the right direction.
3 TD passes, and no INTs.

Please, NDog, ignore the posters asking you to shut up, because for me, your tears are the icing on my cake.

  23. jcscycles Says:

No, Swampdog, he truly doesn’t. And his crazy ex-girlfriend act is getting old and absurd.

  24. SufferingSince76 Says:

Can somebody bop Ndog with a rolled up newspaper? He keeps pissing all over everything.

  25. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Addition by subtraction is what’s helping us, well not in the 1st two games because Brady has made 4 bad turnovers. Still inspire of his short comings we won the last 2. He averages 2 td passes per game and we’ll be doing pretty good, but this offense has to start clicking soon because against better teams our defense seems to let them slide right down the field on them and we’re going to need the offense to be able to win some games. This scoring nothing in the 2nd half ain’t gonna cut it!

  26. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Generally agree, but 1) it is true that we have a lot of targets, and 2) Brady is looking for him in the red zone.

It looks like he might get more targets next week, with Godwin’s hamstring injury.

  28. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Ndog we barely beat anybody with Jameis so what are you crying about?

I’m pretty sure a few of the D-line were replacements today. One of them was on the practice squad yesterday.

That said, the o-line looked good. There is value in gaining confidence against a lesser opponent. I hate that I had to watch #76 helping Brady up (again), when he was working against a scrub. But still, altogether good stuff to build on.

BABY GIRL DO YOU REMEMBER THE OLD BUCS QB GIFTED THE OTHER TEAM 7.5 PER GAMR ON HIS TURNOVERS ALONE??

    Funny how these pricks forget

  31. Oneilbucs Says:

I told all of yall from the jump that it will be a new playbook on offense for Brady . And I told yall that defense will be the main reason for us winning this year and running game . So please stop acting like Brady is playing in the same offense that Jamies played in . It was a good win . And I told yall that Evans numbers will drop . Brady threw 2 1 yard touchdowns . Brady is not asked to throw 45 times a game up the field 20 times .

  32. Cobraboy Says:

From the beginning to the end, the game seemed a tad boring because you knew the Broncos could not come back against that defense.

The smooth, calm and collected efficiency of Brady is a stark contrast to the frenetic idiocy of Ndogs felching buddy, now a pine rider in New Orleans.

I rather enjoy watching Ndog melt down in the face of facts.

Why don’t we just ignore the Neutered Dog? He’s not a team first guy, he’s Jaymiss’s mistress or relative.

Exposed for his true colors. He probably sits at home with a Taints #2 jersey rooting for that 3rd stringer. Both champions in their own mind.

  35. Buczilla Says:

Hell yes it’s refreshing Joe’s! I’m screaming at the tv so much less this year. My wife and kids most certainly appreciate the QB change.

  36. ElioT Says:

Ndog = Jameis, or a family member.

Total troll complaining about a QB (arguably the greatest we’ve ever seen) not doing enough in a WIN!!! While throwing for almost 300 yards, 3 TDs, and zero picks or fumbles.

We won and looked good doing it!!!

  39. Jeffbuc Says:

Ndog this is what you can’t grasp. We won 28-10. Today in a game we were suppose to win. This is the exact game against a team missing a lot of starters that your man crush would have probably lost. He would have gifted 2-3 interceptions one to the house. The great defense you are witnessing was the same defense you would have saw last year if they don’t have to force a team to punt than instantly watch jameis row a bone headed pick and there right back on the field with no rest. And the other team is in the red zone. You should be happy right now we are 2-1 and not even close to firing on all cylinders. This is the exact game that your man crush would lose the game for us. Try to play Superman against a inferior opponent instead of just throwing to who’s open taking the sack letting a play die. I know because I have seen it the last 5 years. Jameis does not get through this game turnover free. We lose this game or it is a nail bighter if jameis was our an

  40. StatGuy Says:

That was the difference taking the sacks instead of forcing the throw when it wasn’t there, beautiful

  41. StatGuy Says:

Brady wasn’t asked to throw 45 times a game cause he didn’t spot the other team 14 points

  42. Youngbucs Says:

Oneilbucs back 😂 whts up loser I swear y’all the comic relief.

  43. Bucsfan951 Says:

Who dat in first place in the nfc south?

  44. Pete I Says:

A solid, steady unremarkable Buc’s win with no drama. Outstanding! Not possible with Meaningless Stats Winston under center. It was very nice to just enjoy a simple effective win.

  45. Oneilbucs Says:

Statguy We have been running the ball at least 10 to 15 times in the first quarter . This is not the same offense that Jamies played in last year and yall know it bro . We never started off running the ball this many times in the 1st quarter . I name you games last year that we never even tried to run the ball . Look at all these short passes we are throwing now versus last year . That’s why I say Rosen can learn this offense instead the no risky no biscuit offense that causes a lot of turnovers regardless who the quarterback is . So can we agree that this not the same offensive playbook from last year ????

  46. Oneilbucs Says:

Youngbucs Brady didn’t have 300 yards and he threw 37 times so you know this is a short passing type of offense how many times Brady threw 20 yards or even 15 yards up the field . Bruce Arians said we built this team on defense .

  47. D-Rome Says:

    It’s such a refreshing change.

Darn right it is! Last year, Jay-Miss would have thrown 2 INTs which would have allowed the Broncos to win the game. Not only that but then we’d have mouth breathers blaming the defense or some stupid curse of the backup QB as to why they lost instead of looking at Jay-Miss.

  48. Oneilbucs Says:

D Rome You don’t know what would have happened if it was Jamies lol lol 😆😂 . Brady threw 2 1 yard touchdowns and I think one of them was probably a couple of inches for the touchdown 🤣 😂 . This is a short passing type of offense with a running game . Jamies was threw the ball waaaaay more up the field then what Brady is doing. And Mike Evans will not be here next year if Brady can’t get him the ball . All yall said with these weapons Brady will have 40 tds and Mike will have numbers like Moss . I told yall that Brady will not be able to get Mike the ball like Jamies did .
