Making Plays

September 27th, 2020

Pro Bowl impact

Last week it was a forced fumble and a recovery. On opening day it was 11 tackles.

Today it was a Broncos-crushing interception.

Lavonte David is doing what Bucs fans hoped he would in a season in which the Bucs will be thrust into the spotlight — one that will get much brighter in October as the Bucs play games against big-time teams.

David is snubbed repeatedly for postseason honors and many Bucs fans, Joe included, hoped this would be the season David would get his due. But, of course, David still had to go out and produce.

He’s better in coverage than Devin White, and while White has been elite against the run, he has yet to turn in a game-changing play this season. That’s been David’s role.

Through three games, David is healthy and on the track he wanted personally — and the Bucs are winning.

Joe’s excited for what David will do on the bigger stages ahead. He seems totally locked in, as well as consistent.

  2. Laura $$ Says:

hes playing better than ever…should’ve had another pick that he read perfectly and dropped. Borderline HOFer.

Especially when he ran the wrong way.
    That was hilarious.

  5. Dewey Selmon Says:

Would of been nice to rep him today in pewter but they never had it in stock in time. Nice job sales dept, he was 1 of 3 to model the the new uniforms.

  6. 541BucsFan Says:

LVD and White are around the ball on nearly every play. I hope both make the Pro Bowl.

Proud owner of a lavonte jersey

He has even better football ahead.

  8. Ndog Says:

Yeah I do Brady, he doing anything but throwing it up for OJ and Miller to bail him out and of course taking sacks.

  9. mark2001 Says:

Meanwhile JPP was pretty quite. Hope hes mot banged up.

  13. spicoli Says:

So we can’t be happy for our 2nd win in a row? I know this isn’t prime Brady, but this version of Brady is still hands down wayyyyyyyyy better than Jameis ever will be.

LVD continually showing he is one of the top defensive players in the league

  14. SufferingSince76 Says:

Brady ain’t doing nothing but winning, Ndog. You ain’t doing nothing but whining.

  15. Craig Says:

Thank the Lord that he is our secret. He is a machine, he grinds all game long.

By morning we might be alone atop the NFC South standings. Luckily we have a few softballs coming before and angry Aaron Rogers faces us.

  16. Youngbucs Says:

Tom Brady leads the league in big time throws🔥🔥

  17. RICHARD weeks Says:

Ndog and El Jerko the testicals of jameis Winston

  18. bojim Says:

We’ve been wasting him so I hope this is the year. He deserved it long ago. Dog boy. STFU.

  19. Oneilbucs Says:

Youngbucs Brady threw 2 1 yard touchdowns he’s not balling out and we don’t need him to throw the ball 15 times up the field . Or every throw had to be 10 to 20 yards . We would have done better if we would have gave Jamies this playbook . And now we are trying to run and I don’t hear nothing about if the coaching staff trust the quarterback when we run 20 times a game like they did Jamies last year . Brady threw 37 times and still didn’t throw for 300 yards and that’s cool with me this been my hold point even with Jamies . With this offense we can groom Josh Rosen he will be a good fit with this play book . So we shouldn’t change anything with the playbook . And remember I told you how important a running game and a good defense is . Because all you need is a game manager to win a championship when you defense is playing good and you can run the ball ok …. Superbowl or bust ! Go Bucs !!!!!

  20. ElioT Says:

Lavonte is like most of the real ballers on this team.

They want to win and even more so, are sick and tired of losing.

We are watching some pretty complimentary football develop here.

    Keep it up!

    Go Bucs!!!

  21. Oneilbucs Says:

The saints are losing and if they lose we will be in first place !!! Go Bucs !!

  22. Anonymous Says:

Why are we still talking about Mr Pick-6? There’s plenty of current buccaneers to talk about

  23. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    Let’s go Packers baby!!!!!!!

  24. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    Bucs in 1st!!!!! LFG

  25. BUC CHEEKS Says:

  26. SB Says:

    Hey Ndog.
When we win next week will you “PROMISE LIKE PINKY SWEAR to never come back””””””?????

  27. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    Who else was manifesting?!

  28. the_end Says:

Aaaaand the Bucs are in first place in the NFC South…………..take a second and breathe it in Bucs fans. Its a wonderful day for a change!

  29. SOEbuc Says:

It’s gonna be total BS when Kuechley gets into the HOF five years out of retirement and LVD likely never be considered.

  30. Bucsfan951 Says:

Who dat in first place in the nfc south?

  31. SOEbuc Says:

Be nice, but White doesn’t need splash plays when you have the most tackles in the NFL. Weinfield Jr already showing NFL world why he’s gonna be DROY.

  32. Oneilbucs Says:

I don’t think the saints is good as people say they are !!!!

  33. SB Says:

True Oneil but they had more continuity. We were trying to find our arses.

  34. Hahahahaha Says:

Yall dog ndog but still fail to acknowledge all the plays Brady left on the field. Excuse makers when it’s convenient for your narrative.

  35. RustyRhinos Says:

Hahahah, you know the play I didn’t see Brady leave on the field? Multiple turnovers. Be it bad passes right into a defenders numbers. Or throws three feet over WR’s into a defenders hands. Yes he had a bungled handoff, but no loss of the ball on that play. What plays did Winston leave on the field Sunday? Did he even dress for the game?

  36. coverdeuce Says:

One of the most criminally under-appreciated LBs in football history. Luke Keuchly’s DPOY belongs to LVD as far as I’m concerned.

  37. JimbobBucsFan Says:

    GREAT POINTS, Sage.

If only some of our fans and the national media understood these things.

The majority of us are enjoying watching us grow in every game.

    Goooooooooooo Bucs!

  38. #1bucfan Says:

Joe LVD has bin making play since he came into the league but when you play for a bad team that doesn’t get national audiences and the fact that he’s not on the edge getting tons of sacks won’t get you the recognition that he needs. He’s the most underrated player in the nfl
