Jason Pierre-Paul Talks About The Bucs Offense

September 2nd, 2020

Hey, JPP, you’ve faced the Tampa Bay offense for weeks now, what’s the difference between now and last year?

Joe posed that question to Jason Pierre-Paul this morning and the Bucs’ ferocious linebacker, who always has plenty to say, kept it simple.

“Oh, man. Ball is coming out quick,” JPP said. “Big difference, you know what I mean? We can tell. The defense can tell. Big difference. So that’s all I can say; it’s a big difference.”

Last year the Bucs ranked third in the NFL in total yards and third in total points (28.6 per game), despite leading the NFL in turnovers and serving up an atrocious defense for more than half a season.

A “big difference,” says JPP, who is not one to sugarcoat things. Yes, Joe interprets JPP saying “that’s all I can say” is him not wanting to publicly play the #BlameJameis game.

Man, Joe can’t wait to get the season cranked up. If the Bucs can score 30 points a game and play average but consistent defense, January will finally be a happy month at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters.

Your summary statement is right on, Joe. If no big injuries, exciting times ahead.

  2. ocala Says:

Jamies is very talented, but Tom Brady is the best of all time. OF course there is a big difference. The Bucs have a Super Bowl level team with Mr. Brady at the helm.

  3. SmoothBayRider Says:

I wonder if NDog thinks JPP is a liar .

Well said Mr. JPP. I know a couple of posters that are going to loose their minds and argue with JPP’s assessment about the difference in the two QB’s – even though Mr. JPP is on the field and those two posters are still living in their parents basement reliving their Pop Warner days pretending they know Sh!t from Sh!inoola about football.

In the immortal words of one Raheem Morris, “stats are for loosers” Especially those 30 picks.

    Please, please do Joe!
I have been doing this now for 5 years here. I would love to compete against you!

I actually thought you were in it last year with a pseudonym but I guess I was wrong.

  15. Clean House Says:

Well said Ocala… I agree with that statement 100%

  16. Clean House Says:

Well except for hw super bowl part- I’m not sold on that at all

  17. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Proof this is Brady’s offense and not BA’s. Brady like to throw underneath to his RBs, TEs and WRs. BA wants to set up the long ball. While Brady will incorporation some of BA’s pass plays, for the most part, this will look more like a New England Offense.

Ocala said, “Jamies is very talented, but Tom Brady is the best of all time.”

No – Jameis is was NOT “very” talented – He just has a very lively arm and had a great receivers to spread the ball. I would not call a QB who throws 30 interceptions talented. If you recall, former Bucs Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two 500 yards games a few years ago with the same offense. Ryan is not considered a very talented – he just had a great set of WRs to throw to and an offense (Koetter) that relied on the pass. I think Mike Evans hinted that he preferred Fitz throwing the ball to him than Jameis.

I don’t post at all barely. But I’m always here reading the comments. I joined the pick em league. Come on Joe let’s see you embarrass us.

  21. Bucsfanman Says:

^^^This is a false narrative. Good coaching will always trend toward player’s strengths. AND, who cares if it’s true?! Brady is THEE GOAT and it’s not up for debate.
BA’s offense is take the shot “when it’s there”, NOT throw deep EVERY play.
WINNING is the goal, not racking up obscene statistics.

  22. Howard Cosell Says:

Oh no! Joe posted a Jameis picture again!

  23. Clean House Says:

#1 in NFL total offense, passing yds 5109 (top 8 seasons all time) passing yds per game, and #2 in TD’s only behind MVP stud Lamar Jackson
With a broken hand, banged up knee, bad eyes, his receivers gone for several games and no run game and 47 sacks I think

Naw no talent there, nothing to see here, keep moving right along

Some people are absurd. It’s not even worth mentioning the truth.

But I will- over and over just to remind you folks to check you sheet!

  24. bucsfan951 Says:

clean house says “Some people are absurd.”

yeah 32 gms are so absurd to not make him their back up qb and 31 are so absurd to not make him a back up to the back up.

    how absurd!!!

  25. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete Says:

Bucs will average 40 pts/game on Offense and <20 pts/game on Defense.

    19-0.

  26. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Gonna be a lot more YAC this year too. Less sacks, more YAC, less turnovers, longer drives, less exhausted defense, more efficient, intelligently executed offense, less OL running around waiting for the QB to make a hero 50/50 play. All welcome, much-needed changes.

  27. Jmarkbuc Says:

    SB

    I’m in… let the games begin 😎

  28. Tampabaybucfan Says:

You have to take a player like JPP seriously……he simply doesn’t BS……if he says it’s coming out quicker, it is….

I’m hopeful that coming out quicker means much more efficiency….and if we are not playing from behind, there may be fewer passing yards….but more wins because of fewer turnovers.

I think our Defense will be the surprise.

  29. All lives matter Says:

You know Jameis didn’t actually score 28.6 points per game. He had many scores under 21 but had a few successful high scoring games that inflated his numbers. He wasn’t consistently putting up 28 point per game. Now you expect Brady to put up 30 points a game because Jameis’s 16 game total averaged out to 28.6 ppg. If Brady could put up 30 points every game the chances are great that his total 16 game average would be higher than 30 ppg because there will be NO games under 30 but there will certainly be games where he goes over 30 points.

  30. Ed Says:

When you can not hit the quarterback during a control scrimmage , everyone looks good or the defense stinks.

  31. LordCornelius Says:

Will be interesting to see if the sack #’s / fumble #’s especially drop dramatically with a QB that has much better instincts on knowing when to give up on a play.

    GO BUCS

Fair. If we had a shed behind Big Storm Brewing, we wouldn’t get much work done. 🙂

Anyone remember “Chicago Billy” from 620 fame from years ago with Chris Thomas and Sileo? He rented a room from an old use car lot/garage on 66th St. in St. Petersburg for his home office. He had a radio right next to his computer tuned to 620. 🙂

  37. BigHog Says:

“Oh, man. Ball is coming out quick,” JPP said. “Big difference, you know what I mean? We can tell. The defense can tell. Big difference. So that’s all I can say; it’s a big difference.” I said this other day about the Brady effect. Tom makes the the O Lines life alot easier. On many of the plays they just have to engage the block momentarily and the ball is out. Tom is accurate and reads defenses like the back of his hand. “Tom Brady the O Lines best friend” and then a legit running back. (see Fournette) lol GO BUCS!!!

  40. Ndog Says:

Just keep firing away, I love it actually it just shows how unbelievably classless everyone association with this organization is. Keep in mind THIS TEAM had to play half the season without this complete and utter idiot cause he decided to drive a car ridiculously fast in the RAIN and got into a accident by himself.

I love these morons running their mouths and of course he doesn’t care cause when Jameis will be whooping our a$$ for the next decade his moronic self will be retired. Keep talking, and just keep in mind the other party is just getting better and getting better with a long career ahead, while this team THAT HAS ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING and is constantly running their mouths about an ex teammate.

Just keep firing we shall see…

You going to make an argument against hard math?
28.6 is the number. It’s called averaging sometimes you’re lower sometimes you’re higher.

#1 is also the number. Check yo sheet!!

Dumbest argument I think I’ve ever read

  42. Bucsfan951 Says:

    NPUPPY

And in 2018, the Bucs had to play games without JW because he decided to touch a female when she didn’t want to be touched.

Don’t throw rocks at a glass house, my friend.

THANK GOD THE CANCER IS GONE AND WE CAN FINALLY BREATHE AGAIN!!!

  43. Bucsfan951 Says:

    CLEAN HOUSE

Do we subtract the 7.5 points from that 28.6 points since that (7.5 points) was given to the other team, per game, by JW turnovers?

I DONT THINK YOU CHECKED YOUR SHEET HARD ENOUGH!!!

And the Patriots had to play 4 games without your savior because he is a cheater.

  47. Bucsfan951 Says:

    NPUPPY

You’re right! He sure did! But let’s compare their numbers once they both got back from their suspensions.

    Tom Brady:

    record: 11-1
    Yards: 3554
    Tds: 36
    Ints: 7
    Rate: 102.2

    Jameis Winston

    Record: 3-6
    Yards: 2992
    Tds: 19
    Ints: 14
    Rate: 90.2

Yards yards yards for JW but turnovers turnovers turnovers.

THANK GOD THE CANCER IS GONE AND WE CAN FINALLY BREATHE AGAIN!!!!

  48. stpetebucsfan Says:

Well I guess we knew it before but if ever there was a doubt…NDOG is now officially a Saints fan.

Big Hog….there are no SB trophies for stat leaders. You do not win with stats but rather with WINS…IE Which team has the best score not the best stats.

JW is a talented athlete with a gun for an arm. IMHO he selected the wrong sport. He still looks like an MLB pitcher when he throws the ball. I wish for his sake he’d take his cannon to baseball where he might flourish. His long windup would be fine in the MLB.

  49. Tampabuscsbro Says:

All I can tell these people is to cope and keep crying.

  50. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Also 951 don’t forget that Fitz played better with the same offense.

Heck by that logic we could have plugged any old journeyman in that 2018 year and he performed at minimum the same as Winston.

  55. SB Says:

  56. Bucsfan951 Says:

Haha thanks SB. Man, I wanted JW to work out. I think every Bucs fan did. But I can’t get behind a qb that turns the ball over so much and accounts for 7.5 points per game for the OTHER team.

I mean, a salesman could have great sales but if the profit margin isn’t there, what’s the good of it? Numbers are just numbers sometimes.

  57. SB Says:

    I did too 951
Even as a die hard Gators fan and Alum!

  58. Oneilbucs Says:

Man this doesn’t even matter no more everybody got what yall wanted and that’s a 1 year window . It’s superbowl or bust this year and I don’t want to hear that’s every team because it’s not and yall know it . Go and look at all the 1 year deals we have .

  59. unbelievable Says:

Yes I think St. Aug might have even won 2 years straight?

Or maybe it was MarineBuc? Felt like those guys were always near the top.

  60. Tye Says:

A “big difference” – LoL at JW thinking he was worth a huge pay day…
    got what he deserved….

  61. Oneilbucs Says:

Tye if Jamies was the problem with the team and Brady is so great than why we sign 4 different runningbacks ?? Lol 😆🤣😂 . I thought a quarterback shouldn’t need a good runningback ?? Bruce Arians never wanted Jamies from the jump . So this is a 1 year window .
