It’s Not Brady; It’s The Bucs

September 15th, 2020

Cites bigger Bucs problems.

It was a takedown by two guys who know something about winning football.

Over at CBS Sports HQ, NFL analysts Scott Pioli, former Patriots general manager and a man given credit for drafting park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, slapped around the Bucs for their performance Sunday.

On Brady’s pick-six, Pioli said, “I was confused watching the game. I saw a pick-six which reminded me of all the pick-sixes Jameis Winston threw last year.” That comment actually had deeper meanings when Pioli insisted there are “much bigger problems in Tampa Bay than just Tom Brady.”

Pioli suggested if Brady will hit the turf that often, you cannot expect the Bucs offense to click. He had harsh words for the Bucs’ offensive line.

Former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden, who won two Super Bowls (one with Bucco Bruce Arians on the Steelers staff), called out the Bucs for being an undisciplined team and until they tighten things up, the Bucs will remain the Bucs.

“That’s what we saw from Tampa (Sunday) and that’s what we saw last year from Tampa as well,” McFadden said.

McFadden also noted that he doesn’t know why some people believed Brady was going to magically stop pass rushers. He cited the number of times Jameis got pounded last year and emphasized that Jameis is mobile, unlike Brady.

See the full discussion in the CBS Sports HQ video below.

(Hey, Ryan Wilson, are you sure you weren’t watching Donovan Smith instead of Tristan Wirfs? So Wirfs “got worked” all day? Really?)

Same Bucs I broke free of the curse last year.

  4. Pablo Says:

He is right we have been cursed for quite some time!
Joe so are you gonna write an article about Carlton Davis locking down Micheal Thomas ? Pablo was really proud of his performance

On Sunday…..the loss was on Brady & the Bucs……

I don’t understand why we don’t use our backs & TEs more in the passing game with short quick passes…..perhaps that will come.

Wirfs didn’t have help all day a lot of times I saw him hold his own

  9. Destinjohnny Says:

Licht has had 7 drafts to fix it.
    Can anyone say he has?
    7 drafts……

No excuses for Brady or any other player. If they made a mistake then hold them accountable. I don’t want to hear no offseason or no true training camp. 31 other teams besides the Bucs didn’t have an offseason too. We witness the same problems that we saw last year but all the blame went to one player because of one particular stat. I have said for the last 3 years that D. Smith is not a LT and he should be moved to RT. You basically had Gronk stay in majority of his snaps to help block with the rookie RT. My concern going forward for the offense is that most defenses Tampa will face will scheme based on the LT and RG matchups. Look out folks Den, LA Chargers, CHI, and GB all have very good and solid front 7. I’ve said this before and I’m saying it again Brady is considered the goat but one thing that he has struggle with in his career is facing good defensive front 7s. Now he has been able to counter that with his team having a good defense so it’s not a panic but it’s a lot that needs to be cleaned up quick fast and in a hurry. So with that being said I’m not giving a pass for Brady or any other player on the team. Why is it that every time they call that deep out route to Justin Watson it’s a interception or pick 6? I think its one of 3 things he runs a bad route or the DB make a good play on the ball or the ball was thrown behind him. Special teams still look a mess and that’s cost us games in the past. I hope they can start putting a complete game together in all phases of the game. Don’t forget when Brady signed with Tampa he said No Excuses so I’m simply holding on to that.

  11. Alanbucsfan Says:

Paralysis by over analysis – Players on offense are thinking too much.
As Bucs offensive players get more comfortable with each other, the mistakes will decrease and the execution will improve.
    Saints had continuity advantage.
Give it a few games to gel.

  12. The Coroner Says:

I’m telling you they need to spend half the time with Tristan Wirfs at left tackle and Donovan Smith at right tackle in scrimmages. Otherwise the analysts are correct Brady’s going to be hurt and the offense is going to continue to sputter. Tighten up your jockstraps and be men.

You ever think this team could watch film on teams like kc, Seattle etc and ho you know they’re always pretty good ….maybe we should implement some of that lol. Wtf is wrong with these ppl at one buc. Watch what Brady excelled at and let the man do it. I swear every year we act like its a damn mystery on how to run a NFL team and watch the other teams create match up problems etc…what problems do we have. Are we creative? Are we keeping teams off balance. I think we know that answer

its the coach stupid! instead of the QB whisperer how about the qb killer!

if we win this sunday…say 31-20…all’s good in tampa…

now if we lost at home sunday to carolina, sheet it gonna hit the fan…

the media’s gonna be all over the bucs nationally…

we are the league darlings if winning…or the most bash-able team if losing…

    just ask jenna

  16. Bruce Blahak Says:

things to fix: LT and special teams(K,PR,coverage)….a punt returner would help…scary watching mickens fight the ball, muff coming

  17. adam from ny Says:

why’d that dude toss wirfs under the bus…

    not cool…

    what game was he watching…geez

  18. Lamarcus Says:

I dont see how this work. Brady just dont have it in him. And the defense is trash.

mickens is scary as the punt returner…

clearly is not ready for the job…unrelaxed back there…nervous sorta…with muffs on the way…

funny no one mentioned it until now…

are they just gonna wait for him to totally screw up before replacing him?…

    looks like it

I’m interested to see the talk track and mood after we win on Sunday.

It’s amusing how fickle sports and group think can be.

  22. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

destin johnny right on, jason licht should be on the hottest seat in the nfl. The guy drafts OL out of D3 schools and expects them to be NFL quality? GTFOH. Fire licht asasp; the guy is terrible at personnel and the proof is in the bucs garbage record with him at the helm…OL doo doo, RBs he has drafted doo doo, any DL that he has drafted? NOPE, kicker, NOPE….sad sad sad

  23. BucEmUp Says:

I dont wanna hear it.Greatest qb of all time. If its aint an excuse for Jameis it aint an wxcuse for the best ever period.

How about leftwich stop forcing the offense to go deep and let brady hit some.checkdowns.How about miller on some cross routes. GET CREATIVE FOR GODS SAKE WE HAVE A DEFENSE NOW!!

  24. BigHog Says:

As a team THE BUCS are not what people believe they are…as an offense, let me tell you Mt 5000 would have won that game, as a DEFENCE, there needs to be a meeting of the minds!!

  25. Joe Says:

Joe so are you gonna write an article about Carlton Davis locking down Micheal Thomas ?

Perhaps. There is split opinion about the Bucs secondary at JoeBucsFan world headquarters. One Joe thinks Davis is solid, though a bit too handsy, which is exactly what happened Sunday.

  26. Joe Says:

joe- why is no one talking about this from sundays game!!

Because it is a non-issue. Jordan said he was trying to punch the ball out.

  27. vic robertson Says:

cmon man! why would you try to punch ball out when rb is down by contact?? its bs we all know it

  28. Christopher Schiefen Says:

Wirfs was not good. Just because Jordan didn’t register a sack doesn’t mean Tristan didn’t get beat quite a few times.

  29. Anonymous Says:

  30. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

I have been talking about the oline as a problem for years. So if we don’t fix the oline then the scheme has got to change. Something has to give, and I strongly believe Brady will figure it out. Go Bucs!

  31. TampaTown Says:

So maybe Jameis wasn’t the problem?

  32. Tbbucs3 Says:

“So maybe Jameis wasn’t the problem?”

    DING DING DING DING

  33. Curry-Winston Says:

Exactly TampaTown!! But Let’s just watch this whole debacle unfold shall we….no risk it no biscuit

  34. Mike Johnson Says:

Brady is not a playmaker when the chips are down. brady is a fame manager. always has been. When the pocket collapsed, he looked like ebanezer Scrooge..slow as molasses. He keeps getting hit. We gonna see the real savior..Gabbert. Get your eggs ready. Its gonna stink to the high heavens.

  35. Joe in Michigan Says:

Mike Johnson, aka Mr. Clueless: The website is Joe Bucs FAN. Please visit any/all of the Bucs Haters websites, they might want to read your garbage.

  36. stpetebucsfan Says:

What Joe in Michigan just said!

  37. Joe in Michigan Says:

SPBF: The real Bucs fans like us will stick together, like Oneilbucs wrote in a previous post. The trolls, well, they’re gonna troll.

  38. BigMacAttack Says:

@Vic, you’re correct, play was over and Jordan should get a game suspension for that Punch in the back.

  39. unbelievable Says:

Love how now that Brady is back there, suddenly everyone sees the issues with The scheme, playcalling, pass protection, run blocking, special teams and discipline.

As if those haven’t all been issues for the last 4 previous years too.

  40. $acbuc$ Says:

    I have some questions Joes?
Why isn’t anybody blaming Bruce Arians offense? Could that be the Achilles heel.
Why is shady in as a blocker? On the training camp video I seen D.White run thru the 12 veteran.
Why does Bruce Arian play the hot hand with the running backs. Ok then let Rojo(3.5)have 1st Down Leonard(4.5) 2nd and Shady(2.5) 3rd. That’s a guaranteed 1st down every time.

Couch Coach Say:12 personal and pound Fournette. Put some speed on the outside and Mike in the slot. Line Juice and Gronk up out wide. Tell the receiver to anticipate Tom throwing the ball like he’s anticipated the receiver run the route. I’m giving those interceptions to Mike and Justin. Lattimore got Mike number he in his head. Watson just can’t get it. Tom said shorten the route do to the coverage. Didn’t we practice this kids at Berkeley Prep.< That’s what Brady said!

  41. $acbuc$ Says:

I hope some people who close to somebody in the organization can tell them we are hurting as fans. We can’t be the LA clippers. The Sixers from last year. The Eagles with Naomi and that all star team. Tom please don’t let the say you won with the less talented teams that you couldn’t win with all star line ups.

Bruce don’t let them say you got Terrific killed after you got what you asked for in the off-season. Don’t allow them to question your coaches and coaching. We can’t not go thru the season half cocked. It’s balls out right now.

Let’s construct a offense that will center around the TE and RB because if one goes down we got another. We can preserve our WR until later in the season since our depth is not good. Explain to them that there production and numbers are gonna increase during the season. Give Tom a speed package with shady scooter and jay mick doing something trick.

Bruce we need some plays from Andy Reid and Shawn Payton playbook. We got the same personal to pull it off. SAC say that because I heard Bruce say we all running the same plays well how come KC and the Saints offense looks so complex? It hard to see where the ball is going. WE OUR STILL PREDICTABLE.

  42. $acbuc$ Says:

If you need help I can help you ask some real questions untalented talented evaluators. Why is Leadbetter still here? Anthony Nelson beat him on the field. Clay Matthews forget a special teams player. Make Some of them young legs play ST. Like Devin Whitehead Bunting Vita Nelson cut Leadbetter what has he done?

Andrew Adams still thinking about Ingram dragging him 10 yards so don’t play him against the Saints. He left Jamel(Don’t Make a Scene)Dean out to dry. Cook was his man. Although nothing got passed him last year he not looking good in week one,

Bunting over ran two key TD plays. Nelson can’t hold the edge. Whitehead look like the hulk and can’t get off a TE block. Devin over perusing plays like Qwon did. Donovan got tossed like a salad on the Brady pick 6 Go LOOK. Shady can’t pass block. Quit using Gronk as a decoy and lets go Dunkneers. Jason Licht remember BASKETBALL ON TURF!

  43. $acbuc$ Says:

I love how you moderate and steal what other posters write on your site. Man up and let people see who responsible for sparking that lame brain. Untalented so called talent evaluators.

  44. $acbuc$ Says:

Everyday I read a post from someone on your site completely being a straight up hole. They off topic spilling out racism bringing a lot of there personal issues to the site. But when Sac start dropping these jewels my post are moderated or the don’t show up. You playing favorites because that says a lot about the people who run the site and collect play checks off fans engagement. I see profanity and straight out disrespectful interaction amongst your posters. I stay away from them because half of them don’t know what they talking about. They come here to argue like lil school girls! SAC drooping jewels spitting facts.
