“Buyer’s Remorse”

September 20th, 2020

Wild speculation or direct intel?

Joe thought that only Max Kellerman was this nuts. But it seems this notion is gaining steam.

Kellerman, a professional hollerer for BSPN, claimed the Bucs would have been better off last week at New Orleans with Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

Then former Bucs guard Ian Beckles took to his podcast to say the same thing.

Now former NFL player Bucky Brooks of NFL Network is suggesting the Bucs are already starting to regret the move to bring park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady to One Buc Palace.

Brooks was a guest on “The Herd,” hosted by Colin Cowherd seen weekdays on FS1. There, Brooks said it is his belief the shot-callers at One Buc Palace are doing facepalms after the loss to the slimy Saints last week.

“Brady is going to win this week but I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having a little buyer’s remorse,” Brooks said. “If you go back and look at the last 10 games that Tom Brady has played, Jameis Winston has been a better player. And I don’t think Tom Brady can turn it around.”

Brady, as most know by now, is 43. And the track record for 43-year old quarterbacks in the NFL is not reassuring.

Joe thinks it is just a little too soon (actually, a lot too soon) to already be throwing the towel in on Brady.

A needed win today will calm the wolves down.

The Brady/Bucs chatter begins at the 1:46 mark of the FS1 video below.

That’s just talking-head chatter. The die is cast. We’ll see in due time

  2. Bush's Coke Spoon Says:

    LFG Bucs!

  3. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

“If you go back and look at the last 10 games that Tom Brady has played, Jameis Winston has been a better player.”

Such BS – ok I don’t have it front of me and frankly I don’t want to to a few Google searches at 0542 in the morning while nursing a “slight” hangover but – didn’t Jaymiss throw six or seven picks of which a couple went to the house the other way in his last three games? – while TB was just basically flat with only one “real” reciever up in wintery New England?

  4. BucfaninMi Says:

    What’s their W/L record over 10 games?

  5. Bob in Valrico Says:

While brady didn’t look particularly sharp, one game is a tiny sample size. Age
may creep up on Brady, but the fact is Jameis had 5 years with our players and
Brady has had one game with little preseason to get acclimated to his new team.

  6. SufferingSince76 Says:

    Pure nonsense.

  7. Elita Vita Says:

The bottom line is that Jameis had 5 years to correct his interceptions issue with the Bucs. 5 years for the Bucs organization at a team friendly price. He demanded 30 million a year to play this year which is not warranted throwing 30 interceptions last year. He had to settle for 1.1 million to play QB3 for the Saints (a great deal for them). That being said, he was also able to get the ball downfield (a quality not to be taken for granted) and was very entertaining. The roller coaster ride you feel when he threw those interceptions though was difficult to stomach. His time seemed to be up here. Brady’s play dare I say is not as exciting, but most exciting of all would be a chance to win the super bowl.

  8. FLBoyInDallas Says:

If Winston were better he wouldn’t be the third string QB on his current team, riding the bench on game day and not even being placed on the active roster.

Brady, like the rest of the offense, needs time to jell and by midseason they should be in great shape.

Sticking to my prediction of 4-4 the first half of the season and 6-2 the second half for a record of 10-6.

  9. Destinjohnny Says:

Jameis will win his 6 suoer Bowls…
    In all seriousness
I am starting to wonder about the offensive scheme
We all know after 7 Licht run drafts that our offensive line on its best day is average
    Combine those two things……

  10. Pok Says:

Just need a couple of telegraphed soft passes out in the flat and we can all feel like Jameis is still on the team!

  11. Allbuccedup Says:

I agree Joe a win would solve everything. A loss would create too much noise.

  12. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

“If you go back and look at the last 10 games that Tom Brady has played, Jameis Winston has been a better player.”

How do these guys come up with these stupid stats? Compare who lost more games with turnover last season. How many teams was willing pay Jameis a contract during the offseason?

  13. TheBradyBunch Says:

This was my main concern. You ran off the 26yo QB that led the league in yards and TDs for a 43yo QB that the best run franchise in the league with the best coach let walk. Who do you trust made the smarter play here, Kraft and Bill B or the Glazers and Licht.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I don’t think so….relevance describes the Bucs…..prime time games, flexed games….high ratings…..the talk of the sports world….all that’s left is the winning.
Now…..Gronk,that may be another matter…..we need to see some production there.

  15. buc fan for life Says:

I still feel the play calling is an issue that needs to be addressed. New QB and same results! Mix it up and set up the run with the pass.

  16. Unbuc'n Believable Says:

I really enjoy how the national talking heads mock, scold and browbeat fans for over reacting to game 1 wins and losses. Cam Newton didn’t look that great last week, but benefited from two Fitzpatrick picks. He’s an early MVP candidate now. If Winstonhad lost his spit like Newton did at the end of the game it would have been national news. A win will change the national narrative for the Bucs.

  17. BucEmUp Says:

Winston got hia eyes corrected and before 2019 when his int numbers werr managable, he played with the leagues worst defense for 4 years (outside of five games which were won ) in 2018. The Bucs just gave away another qb that will go down as someone they drafted, screwed up on and he will be successful in mew orleans if brees ever goes down.

Brady could run the offense perfectly with our tight ends and evans and miller and our rbs, but leftwich is a disaster. I really dont even want to watch and its 100% because I know he is calling the plays.

Bruce deserves to be fired because of his loyalty and refusal to fix a glaring problem.

Bucs have buyers remorse with Brady??!!!!!! Thats funny, I think the truth is that Brady wishes he never came to this joke of a coaching staff( excluding bowles )

  18. Sesteprenelicus Says:

Including fumbles, Winston turned the ball over 35 times last year, so even with 2 picks Brady is still at a lower pace at 32 than Winston.

  19. Hodad Says:

Nonsense. If Winston was any good he’d be starting somewhere, he’s 3rd string! Payton himself said if Brees retired he was going after Brady. Brady is a one, two year experiment at best. It’s BA’s last rodeo, Tom’s also. If this doesn’t work out there will be a new coach, and GM in 2022, or even next season. Older more expensive players will be gone, some traded for draft picks, and the rebuild will begin. It’s all, or nothing this year. All their hides are on the line.

  20. Architek Says:

After one week??? Dam the media are story scavengers. That’s why Belichick treats them as such.

  21. Clean House Says:

    Winston’s gone…

    Should have checked yo sheets!

  22. Architek Says:

Why are y’all talking about a 3rd string QB?

  23. Bucamania Says:

TB12 will redeem himself this week. The rest of the team needs to step it the hell up too.

  24. Coburn Says:

Not sure what all the fuss is about. He made one vadthrow really.. that sideline pick 6. Otherwise looked to me like h can still make all the throws. Everything else was penalties or Evans pulling up early

  25. Buczilla Says:

Bucky usually has some pretty good takes, but he must have been smoking some potent stuff when he said that. Winning is the only thing that will shut these dudes up and rightfully so.

  26. hammerhead Says:

These people think they have intel… Jeezus. Hey we won today! And Brady had some really nice throws. Tuning out all the people who are paid to have an opinion.
