LeSean McCoy Hears “Whispering” At One Buc

August 4th, 2020

LeSean McCoy and Rob Gronkowski chatting it up at One Buc Palace this morning.

The newest Buccaneer nodded his head in approval at the hushed tones he heard today on the practice field.

Obviously, all eyes are on Tom Brady and running back LeSean McCoy is no exception, even after posting Hall of Fame numbers through his first 11 seasons.

McCoy gushed about how good Brady looked to Joe and other local media after practice today.

“As he’s throwing the ball I hear a couple of the guys whispering like, ‘Dang, how many years do you think he’ll play?’ That’s how good he looked,” McCoy said. “Seriously. Me and Gronk talked about it, like his will to win, his will to go out there and still keep doing it. I mean, once you see a guy like that kind of display that attitude, you want to be part of it. It said to me, ‘Man, how much longer can I do it?’ … “He’s like a coach with a helmet on.”

McCoy later added that he was a bit mesmerized watching Brady work. “He’s like a general leading the troops, teaching them what he wants on the routes and things like that.”

Yes, Joe is well aware today’s session at One Buc Palace featured a bunch of guys running around in shorts and t-shirts without defense.

Brady should be focused and training his teammates up right now, the helmet narrative is silly to even think about. They have to crawl before they can walk and Brady already has them jogging.

Still Joe – think of the flip side of what Shady could have said. things like, “Well we all slow down sooner or later” or “Tom just didn’t look too sharp” So all in all I’d say the underwear football season is off to a pretty good start. Now about The Sickness…..

  3. Tnoles Says:

Regardless if it’s football without pads. At least they’re running around catching footballs and not the virus (hopefully). This is the stuff dreams are made of as a Buc fan, I mean how many years did I drool over all the stud free agents just parade wave right past us to another team. Well, not this time! It kinda feels like the Gruden years

    True dat!

OTOH this is where the season is right now. And while “winning” this part of the off season/season won’t be remembered after the season starts, it’s better than losing this part of the season.

Up to this point…which I concede is just the very beginning point…this team has been excellent…management decisions have been spot on…players are all living up to their reps and doing and saying the right things.

So I say…scrw the sickness for a bit here and totally enjoy what we have….a scary good team with some possible stories for the ages.

Storytellers will go wild with the Brady/Gronk story if this team is as successful in the season as they’ve been in the off season. It will be Butch and Sundance redux.

And on the defense…D White and LVD will get a chance to become superstars not simply because of their high level of play…but because the guys in front of them setting the table for them.

D White has the most infectious smile and outgoing personality…I suspect he’ll not only be the leader but the face of the defense.

“…Boom.”-Training Day. One of my favorite quotes for all the haters out there that say we go 8-8 or 9-7 with Tom at QB with this team.

    Maybe yaw can help me…

Why did McCoy get less reps at the end of the season with the Cheifs. Was he injured, troubled, or just not that good?

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    “I see dead people”…………………………………………………(whispering)

  8. ocala Says:

Joe and most other media members think Brady is going to be behind because of no offseason mini camps. I do not agree at all. THE GOAT will be just fine if not better than any other QB in the league when the season starts.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

    Jaymiss Pick6…Yeah that does suck.

    Just the beginning rumbles of…
    The Perfect Storm!

    No circus here!

Ira says Shady had fumblitis and got yanked.

  12. SOEbuc Says:

ocala…Hell yeah. Who could come in and watch film and teach better than Tom Brady withou having to play offseason mini camps.

    “He’s like a coach in a helmet.”…Very nice.

Good to read about practice notes where the QB isn’t throwing a bunch of picks and commenters are defending him for said mistakes. No defense on the field today.–Joe

    Exciting talk!

  15. ClodHopper Says:

That got me unexpectedly excited!! Dude played with the 500 million dollar man last year and he’s still impressed with the old dude that’s not in his prime any more.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If McCoy hears “whispering” then he’s either got very good ears or he’s not social distancing…..

  17. DoooshLaRue Says:

I wonder if TB12 just feels blessed and just has to try to keep improving….,. cause like he say, god is good and at the end of the day…..blah blah blah.

So nice to actually be able to believe in our QB for a change.

  18. Big Stinky Says:

    Amen Dooosh

I love the fact that ALL of our offense must have a chip on their shoulder. Gronk to prove he can still play. Brady to do it without Belicheat, Shady to contribute when it matters, and for Mike and Chris to prove it wasn’t SHAMELESS that makes them great!!!! What a year!!!!

Finally something real to talk about….new sheriff in town and if you want touches …you betta do what he wants 🙂

  20. diggler Says:

This should be nice for media, staff and players to see what real football players train like. I hope everything is recorded so when Brady leaves they can remember as much as possible then go out and implement it.
