“Too Much”

July 4th, 2020

Say “no” to Antonio Brown.

There is an old saying that there can be too much of a good thing.

And it seems former NFL linebacker and new co-host of “Undisputed,” Emmanuel Acho, believes that could be the case with the Bucs.

Earlier this week, SiriusXM sports radio host J.T. the Brick claimed he heard the Bucs are still in play to land nutcase free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown. Shortly after J.T. the Brick went public with his info, former NFL suit and sports radio and podcasting talking head Michael Lombardi ran with it claiming he heard the same.

Joe has a suspicion that either park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady is feeding Lombardi this info (remember, both have Belicheat connections) or perhaps it is someone else in Brady’s camp (his dad?).

If that were to happen, and for a moment you forget the baggage and obstacles standing in the way of the Bucs bringing in Brown, that potentially could give the Bucs an embarrassment of riches in the passing game to go along with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Cam Brate, Rob Gronkowski and O.J. Howard and Brady.

Acho took to his new TV show and basically said adding Brown to the Tampa Bay roster would be over the top.

“You know what adding Antonio Brown is doing Marcellus?” Acho said to his co-host, Marcellus Wiley. “That’s doing too much.”

Acho added that with Evans and Godwin, Brown isn’t necessary. Acho also claimed that the yards Evans and Godwin had last year (2,490 between them) was top-10 for NFL duos during the Lost Decade.

“You are going to now take a tandem [Evans and Godwin] that is already the best in the NFL and you are going to try to make that tandem a trifecta but  you already added Rob Gronkowski, a future Hall of Famer,” Acho said. “What you are saying don’t make sense to me.”

Joe thinks Acho is right on. Look, Joe will remind his readers how this Brown left his last three teams in the past two seasons: Quit, quit and run off the team.

Brown quit on the Steelers because he allegedly groused about not getting the ball enough as JuJu Smith-Schuster began lighting up defenses. Brown quit on the Raiders after he lost his damn mind and went after the team’s general manager. Then he got tossed off the Belicheats.

With the Bucs, Brown would be on a team more loaded that the Steelers in the passing game. What do you think this fool will do if he’s not getting eight or more targets a game?

Are we to believe Brown has suddenly changed and will just shut up and play ball and be a good soldier? Joe is very dubious.

See the segment where Acho and Wiley talk about Brown and the Bucs in the FS1 video below.

For a coach that talks, and is so full of $#!t they need to change the name to One Buc Sewer!!!!!!!!!!! But within 24hrs after the season is done, there will be a fleet of sewer and septic tank trucks to remove the full of crap ole stale biscuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to see us sign AB just so we could can him again in a week.

    And let me translate myself.

Would love to see us sign AB just so we could can him again in a week.

  3. ModHairKen Says:

With all of the needs this team has, and they exist, sheep, why would they bring in this headcase? The strongest starters of any group on the team, and they are going to bring in a money-hungry, me first, verifiably mentally ill diva WR?

  4. Stonedbuc Says:

Yes sign him. If Brady wants him it’s because he knows there is a different connection.

  5. Imon Says:

Hey Joe, why not a word about Gay’s passing?

  6. David Says:

Hell no. Don’t need his headache

  7. Beeej Says:

He has CLEARLY untreated mental problems

  8. Ship Thief Says:

    Uh, nope…

  9. Ship Thief Says:

My guess is that AB is the one leaking this info.

  10. JayBucBoi Says:

Co-host of “Speak For Yourself” Joe, not “Undisputed.”

  11. Chris l Says:

Another thing aside from taking on this team killer and nut case….how could we even afford him? He will be suspended as well if he comes back. The Bucs do not need to worry about this. Get a safety or running back or some more d-line guys.

  12. Eddie Says:

A team needs the right fit. Antonio Brown can play but is he the right fit for Tampa? I think not.

  13. Sport Says:

If AB were a running back, would Joe be jumping and down to sign him?

    Hmmmm… I wonder…

    In BA I Trust!

  14. Go Bucs 72 Says:

AB is a clown, no thanks, ever.

  15. Marine Buc Says:

Poor AB – mental illness is a bitch. Being wealthy and head strong will insure he will never seek treatment and his condition will surely worsen over time.

Be strong AB. Get help for your mental illness before it destroys you.

    Go Bucs!

  16. BigHog Says:

Already over the top …bring him in and he becomes our best reciever instantly!!!

  17. Craig Says:

We just got rid of the wrong kind of excitement. It is time to turn the page and reach for a successful type of excitement. We do not need to go back to the drama side of it.

  18. Joe in Michigan Says:

Can you imagine AB throwing a temper tantrum on the field or sideline because we have so many targets he’s not getting the ball enough? No way.

  19. BigHog Says:

What you got rid of was a future very goog QB for a declining ready to retire has been!!

  20. Joe Says:

Hey Joe, why not a word about Gay’s passing?

No disrespect whatsoever to her or her family, but what did she contribute to the Bucs other than she was the owner’s daughter?

  21. BigHog Says:

Come on man every dog wide out wants the ball!!!

  22. Darin Says:

Nobody will sign him again. And he is the one putting out this bs. Gota make it appear someone wants him to actually get a team to try. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else. Too bad too many know the truth. Dear AB, you’ll never fool em all. Either be an adult or be unemployed. Happens to alot of people in the real world.

  23. John Says:

Don’t need this idiot and I would bet the buccaneers staff fully understands that this idiot would be a poison in the locker room

  24. bojim Says:

    Please no.

  25. Herbiebuc Says:

I think ab would be a perfect fit i dont care how anybody feels! These
Bucs fans are hilarious we always talk about our locker room too good for a questionable character player to be on our team lol if we use that same logic too every player then warren sapp would have been axed if social media was prevalent back in the early 2000s if this is coming from Tom Brady himself what the hell are we waiting for?

  26. Herbiebuc Says:

    pull the trigger

  27. Herbiebuc Says:

    ???

  28. Buczilla Says:

Has Licht made enough dumb decisions in the past to make me think that he could sign Brown? Yes, for damn sure he has. I don’t think that he will though since he has been getting better at his job and it’s a no-brainer not to sign this loser.

  29. stpetebucsfan Says:

This whole story smacks of Covid boredom…nothing left to report.
I’m blessed to at least have my own version of football. I sit on the back deck under the gazebo and toss peanuts to the Bluejays..who LOVE peanuts. They dive in to get them. The squirrels also LOVE peanuts. So I toss the peanuts in a spot where the WR Bluejays can get them first…IF they dive bomb in…hesitate and the defensive back squirrel picks it off.

If the Bluejay beats out the squirrel it’s a TD. If the squirrel gets if first INT!

Sometimes I pull a Jameis and throw the peanut right to the squirrel.

    Like I said…Covid boredom.

  30. Cobraboy Says:

Seems Brown’s agent is working overtime fueling the rumor mill…

  31. Joe in Michigan Says:

Cobraboy: Right. BA flatly stated “No.” when asked about AB. He’s in charge, and has first hand knowledge of AB’s douche baggery.

  32. Aceofaerospace Says:

Not unless we horribly lose Evans or Godwin.

  33. Clean House Says:

    Joe,
No disrespect but I imagine she did more for the franchise for AB or the flavor of the day.

I’m willing to bet she did something at some point. Which is more than most of these clowns.

@Joe. Ira was quite eloquent in his article and it well summarized her legacy to the entire league.

Joe will ask again, what did she contribute to the Bucs’ organization outside of being the owner’s daughter?
