Tom Brady Will Be Ready

Lavar Arrington is convinced

Is it crazy to consider park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady to be a preseason candidate for NFL MVP? A former stud linebacker doesn’t think so.

Former Redskins Pro Bowl linebacker Lavar Arrington knows Brady’s work ethic and has seen him up close and personal during his workouts.

In fact, the co-host of “Speak for Yourself,” seen weekdays on FS1, noted Brady’s workouts with teammates are just a slice of his summer days. To hear Arrington, summer workouts for Brady are basically part of a full day that has a training camp feel to them, with Brady spending much of the day studying film and plowing through playbooks. Then, Brady tries to take what he learned onto the practice field with his teammates.

Arrington explained Brady is not just tossing balls in the backyard for some way to kill his time in the offseason. Therefore, Arrington said, he doesn’t think it is wild talk to consider Brady a preseason MVP candidate.

“He may have more talent at the receivers position than he has ever had over the entire course of his career,” Arrington said. “One thing is for certain. [That] video of him working out with Gronkowski, I know Tom. I’ve seen his work habits. He works out here (where Arrington lives).

“I can guarantee you he is throwing pass upon pass upon route; upon studying the film; upon what it is that the scheme is going to be with [Chris] Godwin, with [Mike] Evans, with Gronk with whoever else he is going to be throwing the ball to.

“They are working right now. You best believe that. Those attention to details, those are going to be the separator for him and this campaign coming up. I don’t think [the Bucs] sign him if they don’t believe he can have that type of a season.”

Joe found it interesting to hear Bucs center Ryan Jensen tell the story of Brady FaceTiming him and how Brady had watched enough film of Jensen to break down his game.

And that’s Brady’s center, not his receivers or backs or tight ends.

If ever the Bucs needed a guy to pay that much attention to his teammates, it is in this wacky offseason.

Lavar Arrington will forever be a moron in my mind.

I’ll never forget how a couple months ago he claimed that for past few years Tampa has had some really good defenses because they had “Gerald McCoy and the linebacker.”

I still don’t think he have any “explosive” weapons.

Mike, Chris, and maybe Gronk can be legit but who else on our roster that screams “weapons”? Bucs to me are OVERRATED

Have a feeling the Saints will implode this year and it’ll be the Falcons who rise up and surprise in the south. Bucs-Falcons face off twice in the last three weeks of the season which could decide the division champ. Just a hunch from the Squatch…….

I saw Lavar at the Baltimore airport, right after his playing days. He was at the gate across from mine, being mobbed. The guy was huge.
