“You Never Bet Against 12”

A Patriots Super Bowl hero five years ago is like all of us; he can’t wait to see how well Tom Brady plays in a Buccaneers uniform.
But make no mistake, retired running back Shane Vereen has no doubt Brady will shine.
He explained today on SiriusXM NFL Radio that chatter among his friends is about whether the Bucs have enough to make the playoffs, but Vereen wondered aloud “will they be dominant?” That’s what he wants to watch most.
“I just want to see with that talented a team, I just want to see how well Tom does. I can’t hide behind it,” said Vereen, who got giddy when the subject shifted to Brady.
“I think it’s going to be special. Say what you want, you never bet against 12. It’s never a good bet to bet against Tom Brady ever. And history has proven so.”
Yes, betting against “12” takes a strong stomach. He’s never had less than a 10-win season as a starter.
But interestingly, Vereen, now a FOX Sports college football analyst said he has zero concerns about the Patriots offense now the Brady is gone. He’s far more focused on whether New England’s defense can match the NFL-best numbers it put up last season.
Brady, of course, is used to having a Vereen-type pass catcher out of the backfield, and he might not have one now in Tampa. Vereen was Brady’s top dog in that department during the 2013 and 2014 season. He caught 11 balls in the 2015 Super Bowl and signed with the Giants the following month.

If some how, Brady drags ole stale biscuit to a playoff game win or lose, it should be considered Brady’s greatest accomplishment!!!!!!!!! It should top the 6 superbowl championships!!!!!!!!!!! In fact Carson Palmer should get in The Hall of Fame for dragging ole stale biscuit to his one and only credited playoff victory!!!!!!!!! Talk about a coach riding coattails!!!!!!!!!!!!! While they would say “never bet against Brady” with belicheat, now he has to drag nfl’s heaviest anchor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You really think arians is the worst coach in the NFL? I can understand the thought of arians not being on the level he was when he won 2 COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS, but there is no way he is even close to being the worst coach in the NFL. When statements are made like that it makes all other valid points you make completely invalid.

I know, right. I’m not saying this cus I love the Bucs fan and I know the Bucs. We did very well on both sides of the ball with a very good first year staff last year. It’s the QB whisperer!!! 9 to 10 wins? Playoffs? All this same jibber jabber from ppl because they don’t know a thing so they say the most avg number for their own protection in the future.
I know more about the team of course than all the BSPN. Tom’s 43. Can Tom adapt to the guy that has coached with some of the best QBs ever even before Brady. Once again not just cus I love the Bucs, but this team will be elite because we will be elite in the red zone and almost everyone is returning.

I wish joe would just let the adults comment. And get rid of these say the same thing over and over no matter the article. It’s so annoying that I have found myself for the first time In about 6 years not even reading articles because I love comments. And I already know what 2-3 people are already going to say and it ticks me off where I would rather not even read the article. I just feel like when someone keeps saying the same thing over and over you should just ban them from commenting. How many have we had and how happy was everyone when they finally got muzzled. Brady brings a different “excitement”. Whereas the previous QB would keep you on the edge of your seat for ANY reason, Brady keeps you on the edge for the right reasons.
This has been said throughout his distinguished career, “You always have a chance with Brady at QB!”

El Buco Realisto it seems that you are 100 percent confident the Bucs will have another losing season. I think you should put up your $100,000 against the sheep. Joe holds the money at Joe Bucs Fan…8 and 8 no one wins or loses. If Bucs are 7-9 or worst you win $100,000. If the Bucs are 9-7 or better the sheep win. Seems like a way to be “real”…which seems to be your point. According to you it’s not even gambling…you’re 100 percent sure the Bucs are losing. I’ll bet with the sheep!

You all bit real hard didn’t you??? I think little homie was being facetious with not betting against 3 because even as a Winston supporter I was ready for him to move on. I’ve never seen a qb that can give you the highest of highs and lowest of lows all in the same drive all game long.
