Brady & Co. Ignore Edict

June 23rd, 2020

Blows off medical advice.

Shove your infectious diseases, the new leader of the Bucs effectively said this morning.

In what seemed like only minutes Saturday after the Bucs released a statement citing two players tested positive for “The Sickness,” the NFLPA issued a strongly-worded warning to its membership from the association’s medical director to avoid working out together as “The Sickness” has spiked.

Well, park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady sort of gave a finger to that NFLPA message.

This morning, Brady and a handful of other Bucs (including Ryan Jensen, Rob Gronkowski, Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Griffin, Chris Godwin, Dare Ogunbowale and what appeared to be Ronald Jones) gathered once again at Berkeley Prep in Tampa to work out.

This time, WTVT-TV Channel 13 had its helicopter hover over the field longer than it did last week, and Brady and his bunch decided to ignore it and continue with the practice. So several plays were captured on video. Kevin O’Donnell of WTVT-TV Channel 13 has the two-minute video.

Based on the photos at Brady’s Instagram stories account, the receiver in the gray and sleeveless T-shirt is Gronk (who, from a camera angle high above the field looks a lot like Justin Watson). Jones was catching passes out of the backfield.

Brady was in the Bahamas over the weekend, apparently, so he shook off the cobwebs from a pleasant stay in the islands to get back to sweating on a football field.

(Caution: The audio is loud and sounds like a scuba diver with asthma.)

    Good for him…….DISOBEY THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Buddy Says:

Where are the Bucs logos on his helmet?? I’m sure TEAM GLAZER loves seeing no Bucs flag on his helmet after they released all those photo shoot pics. Great job by the equipment manger!!!!LOLOL He must still be on vacation or having someone else cover for him.

  3. Miketb19 Says:

It’s easy for the NFLPA to say to take a break there not the ones joining a new team this offseason.
I’m glad Brady told them to shove it.
He’s going to everything in his power to make sure he’s got a leg up with these guys before training camp that’s what leaders do.
So any negative Nancy’s out there can shove it to because when Brady and these guys open a can of whoop A** on the league us Bucs fans will be there to lick the tears right off your face.

  4. Bradinator Says:

Well, they’re big boys now and can make their own decisions I guess. Just hope none of these guys comes down with The Plague. No idea how else they get anywhere near ready without mini-camps etc. This is what they got. Might as well live dangerously!

  5. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I mean did we really think Brady would start following the rules just because he’s a Buc now?

  6. ArmchairGM Says:

    Joe,

Are you going to give Brady the full Peter King treatment? How about adding NFLPA-ignoring?

  7. Joe Says:

Are you going to give Brady the full Peter King treatment? How about adding NFLPA-ignoring?

    Good idea! 🙂

Hey, if Brady provides Joe with the ammo, why not?

  8. Sarasota Garey Says:

Brady eats avocado ice cream, hes not worried about coronavirus.

  9. Rod Munch Says:

We know from the FDA/CDC and various studies out of China – this thing will not transmit in high temps and high humidity. Once you get above 80 degrees the transmission rate plummets – once you’re above 85 the transmission rate is literally zero if the humidity is above 30% as well.

We also know the single best way to fight the thing is to be outdoors and get sunlight and exercise as the sun helps the body create vitamin D and stimulates the immune system.

So being outdoors, getting sun and exercise in an environment where the thing can’t transmit is literally, literally just about the safest place you can be.

This is the same reason why all you morons complaining about the kids on the beaches back in March were such morons (which I kindly let you know about at the time since this wasn’t new science).

Also recommendations and orders are two different things. As for your recommendations, you can take them, turn em sideways, and shove them…

  10. james west Says:

    coach em up TB 12

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Buddy Says
“Where are the Bucs logos on his helmet??”

I’m guessing, but they may not be allowed since it is not an official practice.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It’s a warning/recommendation not an edict………glad to see them ignore it an play together……looks like we have as many qbs as receivers….

  13. Buddy Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai Blaine G has them on his… takes 5 min to sticker a helmet and you can’t for your most visible player?? Clearly he got it from the team.

  14. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Rod Munch

Tell that to the brain-washing media cause they love keeping this country’s people living in fear instead of living in the truth.

  15. SB Says:

Hey, if Brady provides Joe with the ammo, why not?

    ………………………..

Lol Winston gave you so much ammo it took two soldiers to carry it yet you sure ignored that . SMDH

  16. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Pretty much SB with all the Ammo Winston gave Joe over the years. All the stupid crap he constantly did for years he was still “America’s quarterback pro bowler Mr entertainment (also joe that nickname mr entertainment wasn’t a good thing) Jameis Winston”

And it’s not even training camp yet and Tom Brady is “city park violating, home invading, NFLPA ignoring Bucs Quarterback Tom Brady.” On this website.

    It makes one think.

  17. Mike Says:

    SB…….. nice!

  18. Joe Says:

And it’s not even training camp yet and Tom Brady is “city park violating, home invading, NFLPA ignoring Bucs Quarterback Tom Brady.”

Look. Who got thrown out of a park? It was Brady. And Joe thought it was funny.

Who barged into a total stranger’s house without knocking or ringing the doorbell (which in some parts of this country would get your head blown off)? It was Brady. And Joe thought it was funny.

Hell, the mayor of Tampa thought it was funny too and she did a video for BSPN about it (which apparently, the producers and suits at the four-letter also thought it was funny).

    But Joe is the jackarse???

Sometimes Joe thinks his readers are a bunch of Karens. smh

    C’mon, man!

  19. stpetebucsfan Says:

“the brain-washing media cause they love keeping this country’s people living in fear instead of living in the truth.”

Can we get real? Why would the media want to keep us in fear? Why wouldn’t they wish to report the Covid story truthfully? Ratings? Some of that perhaps but there is no reason the media would wish to do this.

And if it IS for ratings that’s nothing more than a form of giving us what we WANT. So should commercial entities trying to make a profit report only what we SHOULD hear..Who decides what we SHOULD hear?

The media was me…is Joe.. and is any number of Americans/immigrants just like YOU! Shooting the messenger when you don’t like the message is as old as time.

Call it fake news if you don’t like it or it doesn’t agree with your world view…but truth? Who cares anymore?

So hate on me if you must because I WAS a member of the media and still support my former profession…largely…obviously not Faux News.

But here is your TRUTH…and if it causes FEAR…I’m sorry. This is no longer just political…it’s literally life and DEATH. What is not in these stats btw are the 20% or so who survive but have lifelong damage to their health.

    US DEATHS 120,000 WORLDWIDE 474,000

DIVIDE 120,000 BY 474,000 and you see we have 25% of all the deaths in the world.

So a nation with 5% of the population has 25% of the deaths!!!
Does that cause fear in me? Not really. Anger. You bet. Empathy and Compassion for my fellow Americans you bet. November can’t get here fast enough.

  20. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Fair point joe. It was funny it is honestly funny.

I laughed the first few articles that you called him that it was funny.

Why couldn’t you be funny with Jameis is my question.

  21. Joe Says:

Why couldn’t you be funny with Jameis is my question.

    First, Joe did.

Second, assuming you are referring to allegations, Jameis was never charged with anything (if you have evidence of him standing in front of a judge, Joe would love to see the photo).

Third, you find the allegations against Jameis (which Joe assumes people wanted Joe to label him with) amusing? Joe doesn’t. Not one bit.

  22. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ stpetebucsfan

You’re totally missing the point here.

No none is debating that it’s not causing deaths…..cause it is.

But whether you like it or not, the media has been spreading fear when all you see and hear are headlines about it along with deaths.

Notice how the media didn’t really doesn’t talk or track about death from:

    – Flu
    – the Swine Flu
    – Pneumonia
    – SARS
    – Cancer

Imagine if they followed that as closely as they did with what’s going on right now.

Once again, no one is saying that this isn’t terrible…..cause it is; but you cannot absolve the media’s role in what’s going on and how it’s causing people more fear in their daily lives.

  23. Sarasota Garey Says:

Winstons first throw for the Bucs was a pick six, and his last throw for the Bucs was a pick six. Thats enough humor for me.

  24. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Joe the FSU goon squad was the reason he never saw a judge and was allowed into the NFL

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    stpetebucsfan Says:

“Does that cause fear in me? Not really. Anger.”

Anger from what? This thing infected 180 countries what did you expect Trump or anyone to do about it? Wave their magic wand and make it go away. I can promise you this that incoherent idiot, that can’t complete a sentence, Joe Biden doesn’t have a magic wand either.

  26. Paul Says:

park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady is getting old. Why dont you put in 6x SB Champ?

  27. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Anthem

The media covered the Swine Flu big time when it was around…cancer?

So because we’re ALL going to die from something what’s the big deal?

Now if you wish to argue that we are talking more about limited life expectancy and if three fourth are old folks who cares…well that’s a valid point if you don’t mind the eugenics behind making a decision to sacrifice entire generations.

But I apologize Anthem….we are talking past each other….you want balance…we disagree on how much the media is currently providing…but IF the media and it’s individual members have a flaw it’s the same as EVERY OTHER industry and it’s members…greed. Yeah the media gives us what we ask for.

I remember a station in Miami back in the 80’s that went from way back in the local news ratings to #1 in a very short time. Their slogan on the wall..
    “If it bleeds it leads”.

  28. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Joe thinks some his readers are Karens.

Why do we keep get moderates or blocked entirely if we’re the Karen’s Joe? Or do you cater to the Karen’s and send us to the bench?

  29. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    Bucs Anthem

Do worry man. As long as there is a new president in November, this will all go away. It’s election year politics my man, and they know better the people who they want in office.

I’ve yet to hear about the 3 year old boy killed by gang land gunfire in Chicago. His life didn’t matter I guess.

  30. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Haha, this guy St Pete Bucs fan. He just made excuse after excuse for his leftist media buddies. “Not Faux news of course.” The icing on the cake. A fitting end to a BS rant. Nope, the media has no reason, not one, not one iota of a reason, not a smidgeon of a reason to play this up. They’d never do that. Never would push a fake narrative or outright lie. Pillars of integrity those “journalists” you support. Cream of the crop those arbiters of truth. What’s next pal, send us to snipes for a fact check?

Those you support are the enemy of the people. They are the propaganda arm of the DNC. Stick to commenting on football. At least your half good at that.

  31. Mike Johnson Says:

County bumpkins…all here are following their furor?

  32. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Man the absolute state of this chat.

  33. 813bucboi Says:

yeah, joe never wrote head buttin, INT record setting , nfl bust jameis winston…..lol…which i find funny and sad…..lol…

it was always americas QB this or pro bowler that…lol…

    whatever…lol….

the bust is gone and we have the GOAT…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  34. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

And BTW, cool math there. Being that a guy who fell off a two story building was classified as a Wuhan Virus death, along with the guy who had a heart attack, and the lady who had cancer was also a WuFlu victim. Hell, every death is from the KungFlu. It’s all about that $$$$.

I guess the fundraising is a bit slow and somebody somewhere has a president to defeat.

    Let’s math again-

    US cases- 2.37 million
    Recoveries- 735k
    Deaths- 123k

123k divided by 2,370,000= .052- so roughly a 5% death rate. Which would be about half of that if they were reported accurately, which they aren’t.
735k divided by 2,370,000 – 37% recovery rate. Which would be higher but some people didn’t know they had it. Again if accurately reported, much higher.

    Current US population – 350,000,000?
Case%- less than 1%. .006 to be exact.

But let’s all sh!t our pants with fear. Because your buddies have an election to influence. Marxists.

  35. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

.0004 Would that be 4 out of 10,000? Correct me if I’m wrong, cause I’ve had a few since quitting time.

Looks like that’s the Death rate among US citizens. Pretty low for all of the hysteria if you ask me. But what do I know, I’m not currently or formerly a member of the media with an election to win.

  36. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

I destroyed your statistics argument SpBf but Joe didn’t allow it. Karen must have objected.

  37. D1 Says:

Earlier this month, Illinois’s top health official explained that any victim diagnosed with the novel coronavirus would be classified as a COVID-19 death – regardless of whether it contributed to the patient’s death.

“If you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had Covid at the same time, it’s still listed as a Covid death,” Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the director of Illinois’s Department of Public Health, explained to reporters.

  38. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Ole SPBF- just told us this virus will be gone in November.

If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know, I don’t know what will. Sorry about your 401k guys. Sorry about your luck black owned businesses and small business owners. Sorry you’re unprepared for college graduating HS Seniors. Sorry about grumpy and grandma in NY nursing homes. Sorry you lost your job buddy. Sorry your house is in foreclosure single mom. Sorry your life savings disappeared. Sorry your economy was almost obliterated.

But yeah- “November can’t get here fast enough” right media guy?

  39. Wesley Says:

The shape these guys are in, even if they get it, they probably won’t even feel it.

  40. Todd Says:

Brady is a smart man. Why?

Because you can’t catch a virus.

You can’t catch a virus. Dot com. Research it.

This has all been a hoax and if you still believe in “The Sickness,” you are under a spell. Turn your TV off.

  41. mark2001 Says:

Go ahead and have at it boys. If the ER’s and ICU’s fill, they will have no choice but to shut the entire show down again. All the rest of the talk is hot air. If they shut the season down, and you live recklessly, you will have no one to blame but yourselves. Don’t blame the deep state or whatever at that point. It is what it is.

  42. Bucnjim Says:

The only true indicator for the virus is hospitalizations and deaths. Sorry but most people don’t care if you have flu like symptoms for a few days. Im sure Brady cares about deaths as well but at least he is smart enough to realize the difference. After watching todays news conference it may be better for athletes and healthy individuals to get it because it looks like they all believe if you have antibodies it is very unlikely to get it again in the near future.

  43. Cobraboy Says:

    Joe Says:

Sometimes Joe thinks his readers are a bunch of Karens. smh

    You’re just now noticing that?

Hysterical “sky is falling” Karens, at that.

American society is so screwed. I blame the pussification of manliness started 40 years ago…

  44. georgescores Says:

I didn’t see Brady throw any to Godwin, WTF, looks like Ryan Griffin was working with CG on the other side. Perhaps they thought the only highlights worth posting were throws to Gronk.

  45. Hodad Says:

I always thought Joe was being sarcastic calling JW America’s QB? Come on Joe fess up.

  46. Jerry Says:

So every time someone tests positive, the whole facility has to shut down and everyone has to quarantine?

We’ll never get through the season.

  47. mark2001 Says:

Jerry.. could be. But if the ER’s and ICU’s fill up, and the Pinellas County ICU only had 59 open beds last week, we will enter another shut down or quarantine phase for us all. So at that point, nothing would likely take place, but the old essential business openings.

  48. Bucnjim Says:

    Mark,
How many hospitalizations do you think there are? 12,000? Nope that is total! 6,000 for the enire state of FL? Not even close! There are an average of 2,500 hospitalized patient’s suffering from covid in the entire state of FL. The reason the ICUs are filled is because they are back to doing surgery on a regular basis to treat everyone.

  49. Alanbucsfan Says:

If the comments were football, we wouldn’t be doing this right now. But there’s always one jack a$$ who says something and sorry man, I’m tired of being rolled by them.

That being said, the stats don’t bear out the unmitigated fear. As I’ve shown, and using posters comments, it’s about the election. If people don’t see it, I don’t care. That’s their cross to bear. Some people are sore losers- for four years now. They’ll do their part to control you. It’s up to everyone to mitigate their own risk. I talk football until the conversation veers off. Then it’s on. Feel free to tag whoever you’re talking to. I make sure I do.

  53. stpetebucsfan Says:

Joe Biden wrote an editorial in January that described what we should have been doing.

Trump said it was a Dem hoax…it would go away one day…a miracle…he ignored it totally because he’s worried about ONE thing…Donald J Trump.

He shredded not one but two manuals that had been prepared for him…one of them with roots in the GW Bush admin.

More than one study has shown that Trump’s delays…obfuscation…refusal to wear masks or follow his own CDC’s directions cost between 30 and 40,000 more lives than necessary.

  54. Bucnjim Says:

No matter who wins in november say bye to everything going on right now.

  55. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    Hey Mark-

We’re gonna have at it. If there’s no season I don’t give a F. My home, family, and our financial well being outweigh any risk of no NFL season. That’s entertainment man. It’s 16 days maybe 19 if we’re lucky. My company survives based on this risk-365. No shutdown for any other virus. Why? I think we all know why. Some people are just dishonest in nature.

We will not shut down again because knuckle sandwiches are in high demand.

  56. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    BucnJim

Correct. Then we move on to gamers and marxists burning down cities.

Good times man. Good thing I don’t live in the city huh Mike? Country bumpkin that I be.

  57. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Just remember- and you know who you are- we could have kept this on football. That was your choice.

  58. Ship Thief Says:

    Oh good lord.

This is a Buccaneers fan site.

    Shut up with your politics!

Got complaints? Do something about it.

    Shut. Yo. Trap.

  60. mark2001 Says:

Bucnjim…Saw a Pinellas County commissioner a few days ago that is concerned. Saw an article in the Times last week. Do you read a newspaper? But believe what you want. Just telling you that many in knowledgeable positions think it is a problem…but rationalize it away as you wish. I believe in facts.

  61. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

  65. lowercaseg Says:

    Hell Yeah. Live life.

  66. mark2001 Says:

And Knuckle doesn’t think 123 thousand deaths mean anything in basically four months. No problem…unless it is a nuke and kills a third of the population over night, or the plague, that kills forty percent of the population eventually, no problem. Play ball….

Just saying…act as if it doesn’t exist, and don’t be shocked when the hammer drops. Whatever. And remember I told you so.

  67. mark2001 Says:

And Knuckle..my 401K’s are fine…sold a bunch in January because I watch real news and thought the market was overvalued anyway at 29000, rolled a IRA CD into the market at 21000 to lock the profit, and have a bundle to put into the market if it drops below 20000 when the 2 trillion in Fiscal and 2 trillion in “monetary” stimulus wears off, and if we act like the virus doesn’t exist and it hits the fan. That is how we make money.

  69. mark2001 Says:

Yeah..who needs experts? Better to have amateurs work on your car, operate on you and build your house than an expert. Then watch your car go off the bridge or have a flaming crash due to poorly installed brakes, die on the operating table, or have your house fall down on you…all in the name of being a free man. Good for you.

  84. mark2001 Says:

Etzel.. I’m very much about Covid protection protocols. And have taken a bunch of garbage for it. But that comment is every bit as cruel and ignorant as any of the comments ever made against me..and on second thought, even more so.

BTW.. DBS..a guy saying the things Etzel said, has no cause, but to inflame hatred. You think he cares about the things I do, which is to protect all Americans and their families?

    https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-05-02/coronavirus-california-healthcare-workers-layoffs-furloughs

But yeah, hospitals so packed. Thousands of doctors and nurses have been laid off over this spit. How much do you care about their families? Thousands of doctors and nurses have been censored on social media for telling the truth about empty hospitals. How much do you care about their freedom of speech? You didn’t think it was odd that doctors and nurses had so much time on their hands that they were making instagram and tic tock videos in the empty hospital wards?

I find it deceptive, also, that when they compare these numbers to similar statistics on seasonal flu, that they never tell you that when they “math” the figures for seasonal flu, they are estimating the total number of infections. They never mass-test people. But with COVID19, only tested people get put in the total infections column.

Yes. The hospitals were getting killed by shutting down all of their routine treatments. Some of the independents might be driven into bankruptcy. Of course, globalist health care monopolies will benefit, as usual.

Having to put up with the Lesser Joe’s infantile labeling of Brady notwithstanding, seeing Brady toss perfect passes, in rhythm and on target, not high or behind, is a wonderful sight. Let’s hope we have a season.

While Media Focuses on COVID Case Spike, US Sees Lowest Death Count in 3 Months

  95. mark2001 Says:

Pete.. reasonable question, and I’ll give you the reasonable answer. Two reasons really.

One, is that we are learning more about the virus every day and finding better ways to treat it. That is big.

And secondly, because the hospitalizations and deaths are weeks after the spike, because it takes multiple days to even exhibit signs usually, and time after that for them to cascade into a serious level.

Now the question becomes, what happens if we overload our HC system and we can no longer provide state of the art treatment to everyone. That is the potential big problem if we aren’t careful.

After making it through all the comments about COVID and inbreds and the like, I have to make a football comment… Love how Brady uses Gronks height on those deep throws. You just cannot cover that play. And he’s got a lot of talented and tall WR’s and TE’s to throw to. I am very much looking forward to seeing the new Bucs play!
