It would be unthinkable for the Buccaneers to miss the playoffs this season in a league where 44 percent of clubs now qualify for the postseason.
That’s the just the cold, bring-it-on reality.
The hype is everywhere, rightfully so after replacing a backup-quality starter with a legend and adding Rob Gronkowski and Tristan Wirfs, who replaces a right tackle that can’t land a suitable job.
Cranky Charlie Weis, whose offensive prowess guided Vinny Testaverde and Matt Cassel to Pro Bowl seasons, and molded young To Brady with the Belicheats, was barking this morning on SiriusXM NFL Radio about how the Bucs have the best blend of wide receivers and tight ends in the NFL. “That is the best group in the NFL,” he said.
Then Weis backpedaled a bit saying the Chiefs might be better, but nobody compares to the Bucs in their conference.
“In the NFC, I don’t think there’s a team that’s any better than Tampa Bay as far as skill people,” Weis said. “So, you’re Tommy, you’re either going to play [in Tampa] or in New England, where at best you can say you’re in the bottom third of skill people. … To me, I mean this is set up for success as far as I’m concerned.”
Joe wonders what kind of pressure Bucco Bruce Arians is feeling? Barring a significant Brady injury (heaven forbid!) Arians has no excuses if the Bucs aren’t one of the 14 NFL teams in the playoffs.
Does that mean Arians is on a hot seat? Win or go home?
Joe can’t go there in May, and Joe doesn’t want to stomach the thought of the Bucs limping to an 8-8 season and then facing salary cap issues. Arians loves the expectations and so does Joe.
Weis is right; the Bucs are loaded and should be able to throw the ball short and long at will. A mediocre finish is just not an option with this much firepower and experience.

BA feeling pressure? Hot seat? Ha Ha! This is what he LIVES for! The virus situation notwithstanding, anything less than 11-5 will be disappointing (unless of course they go 10-6 and go on to win the SB!….peaking at just the right time!)

All I know is Brady has 2 years to win a SB. 2. Anything short of this is a waste.

Jamies…1 year..salary less than a million but a small bonus puts him barely over one million.
So Pug what do you call JW? He’s not the starter. Money and contract length indicated he’s not even the backup. He’s just an insurance policy in case both Brees and Hill BOTH get hurt.

The Bucs team is loaded with talent. Will this be the year that they start beating other teams and stop beating themselves? I think most of the players that were beating this team are gone… Now we get to find out if we have some players who really want to WIN!

After losing all of our games our first season, we’ve never lived it down.
Being the first team with homefield advantage in the Superbowl is something that would finally make up for it.
So would going undefeated, but that really is a dream.

That’s great, now I feel we have a legit shot to make playoffs. I was sorta worried that N.O. and Atlanta could shut us out. If the NFC East plays as bad as last year that would give us a legit shot.

I read articles like this and I just shake my head. Setting high goals & having high expectations is a necessary start to becoming great. But meeting those goals and actually becoming great is always an incredibly arduous process. Some teams certainly appear to be more talented in certain position groups this year than others (Bucs having the best WR & TE groups in the NFL?), but it still all comes down to TEAM in the final analysis … how all those position groups fit together and PERFORM like a well-oiled machine, week-in & week-out..
Right now every team in the NFL is 0-0 in 2020. Greatness is earned, and our Bucs have a long road in front of them to prove that they deserve a seat at that table. Folks keep focusing on the Bucs’ offense & all our explosive firepower, but I’ll go out on a limb and predict that for the Bucs to make the playoffs this season, we’ll NEED a Top-10 DEFENSE. We’ve certainly got the POTENTIAL to achieve that (and better than that IMO), but it’s far from being ‘a given’ at this point. Lots of hard work ahead, and being a relatively young team on defense, time’s not exactly in our favor thanks to ‘The Sickness’.

The bucs don’t have a mindset like that they run the ball a and play good defense . We don’t do none of those things . Somebody need to check their sheets. The saints only rush for around 160 more yds than us 🤷🏽♂️Oh and our defense only gave up about 200 more total yds than them🤷🏽♂️What I’m I missing oh yea the saints don’t turn the ball over go figure 🤷🏽♂️

youngbucs he wanted a older quarterback the hold time and now we have a old team on the defensive line and at quarterback . Now he believes in the runningback position last year he said he don’t value the runningback position . Last year he said don’t draft offensive lineman in the first round now he drafted one in the first round . All of this was because of Brady . He could have done the same thing for Jamies . That’s why I can’t wait until this Brady thing over . I don’t have a loser mentality when it comes to football . Brady will always be a Patriot regardless of what happens in Tampa !!!!

Youngbucs the saints defense is waaaaay better than ours lo lol that’s just the truth . We gave up the most passing yards this year . We were ranked 32 in stopping the passes. The Patriots had the number one defense . And top 5 in scoring defense witch means teams don’t score touchdowns on them .
