“Please Stop This Nonsense!”

May 12th, 2020

Reacts to twitter.

No, park-violating, home-invading quarterback Tom Brady was not reacting to the Bucs’ kicking woes.

Yesterday, Joe brought word from veteran NFL scribe Gary Myers who claimed the reason Brady left the Belicheats to come to the Bucs had plenty to do with growing friction between Brady and Belicheats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Joe is no fan of McDaniels, so this made sense to Joe.

Well, Brady read an account of Myers’ scoop and took to Instagram, seemingly peeved.

“Stop this nonsense!” Brady wrote over a screenshot of the story on Pro Football Talk. “Please be more responsible with reporting. 19 years together and brothers for life @real_josh_mcd”

So apparently McDaniles is not why Brady left New England.

Brady’s move to the Bucs could just be Brady wanting to try something fresh and new, and to prove himself again in an effort to rejuvenate his career mentally while he is still physically able to play.

“Brady’s move to the Bucs could just be Brady wanting to try something fresh and new, and to prove himself again in an effort to rejuvenate his career mentally while he is still physically able to play.”

BINGO! That’s probably a large part of it. Mid life crisis. LOL Been there done that…still tempted but age has a way of protecting against “temptations”.

In addition…trying to put away our Buc colored glasses…attempting to reject homerism…Right now the Bucs may very well offer Brady a better chance to actually win ring #7 than New England. BB has constructed a great defense at the expense of his offense. Did Brady want to risk going down with that ship with a Captain he didn’t really appreciate?

We all suffer from “battered Buc” syndrome. We simply cannot believe that the Bucs can be good. How long did it take you after that SB win to stop questioning whether it was real or not. Bucs SB Champs? NAH.

It could simply be that Brady sees what we see but are afraid to truly embrace. Mike Johnson has been here almost daily warning us against the dangers of believing the “Hype”.

That’s right. ME13 is not for real and neither is CG14…just HYPE. Our OL ranked 7th overall last season just added a very versatile former starter in Joe Haeg and then drafted the tackle who was considered the premier pick at his position for most of this draft season. But that’s all HYPE. Brady to Gronk all HYPE. Brate’s TDs all HYPE.

Best run D in the league…HYPE! Resign all but one from that D HYPE! The best young MLB in the league HYPE! Vea..Suh…HYPE….19 1/2 sacks from Shaq…HYPE…

This team is very good with the potential to be great. ONE negative. The GOAT QB…is 43! THAT’S IT!!!

Running game? I’ll concede still a question mark but certainly improved after the draft with Wirfs and Vaughn.

HYPE and FAKE NEWS are terms people use when they have NO REAL ARGUMENT!!!

  3. Sport Says:

I was hopeful the title of the article meant sensible Joe came to the rescue and eliminated the dumbspit moniker Shill Joe is using for Brady. Oh well.

    In BA I Trust!

  5. TheBradyBunch Says:

I was going to say yesterday that your article about this report was almost certainly nothing but conjecture. I listened to Brady on Stern and have read numerous quotes from Brady. Everything he has said publicly and on the record has been positive about BB, Craft and New England in general. He credits the coaching staff for part of the reason he has been so successful. Much like the article saying Brady wanted control of personnel in order to sign with the Bucs, these are just guesses by these guys. Honestly Joe I love all the content, but you seem a little gullible when it comes to the NFL rumor mill where reporters are just spit balling. Both reports were unfounded guesses that were incorrect. When you share these things it would be good putting a disclaimer that there is no merit to what they are saying.

  6. Smashsquatch Says:

It’s as simple as showing the world he can win without Belichick and what better place to do so than with the worst franchise in all of sports. This is Brady’s attempt at the ultimate mic drop moment to end his illustrious career.

  7. Frank Menendez Says:

Joe, my name on PFT is reservationsatdorsia (omage to American Psycho one of my favorite movies), and I led the post with over 620 likes. That story is a nothing sandwich

  8. Donkc Says:

Joe, I would encourage you to lose the Tom Brady descriptor. It wasn’t funny or appropriate with “America’s Quarterback” but this is dumb, disrespectful and way uncool. It’s your site, you can do what you want. But as a consumer of your free content, I can choose to not patronize the establishments that pay your bills like Hooters, Bill Curry, Big Storm beer, and Dr. Wenk. And that I will do while continuing to read your free content until you quit spitting in your readers’ eyes.

  9. Durango 95 Says:

Of course, to get Brady’s opinion on J McDaniels, JBF could just ask Brady himself. Except, for some reason, Brady doesn’t seem to care to speak with JBF or any of the local media. How long has he been a Buccaneer?

  10. SC Bucs Fan Says:

You guys realize the more you hate the adjectives for Brady the more they will be used in articles.

  11. Durango 95 Says:

    Park-violating, home-invading, local media-ignoring quarterback Tom Brady.

If the shoe fits might as well roll with it.

  12. Bobby M. Says:

Brady wants all time records and it wasn’t going to happen in the system he was in. Give him Evans & Co. along with Arians offense and he’s got a real shot to light it up. I think the warm weather angle plays a role as well. Brady is very in tune with his body and probably recognizes the effects of cold weather games in his 40s. The dude literally searches for any sliver of an advantage that he can add to his arsenal. Great for Buc fans…big loss for Pats.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It’s actually quite simple…..Brady came to the Bucs because he thought Joe will name him the “World’s Quarterback’ since “America’s Quarterback was taken….instead he got.

    park-violating, home-invading quarterback

  14. Steve Foster Says:

I think it’s interesting that in your blog Bill is still referred to as Bellicheat, but suddenly Brady is exonerated. Maybe it’s the 6 SB wins that you can’t just seem to get past.

Regarding why Brady came to the Bucs, you think that maybe, just maybe it’s because Bill wouldn’t overpay and give him a multiyear deal? Or, maybe it may have something to do with the fact that he is 43 years old and is coming off his worst season in recent memory? No…can’t be…it must be because he wants to play for that juggernaut Bucs team that everybody knows has a storied NFL history. Thanks for the laugh!

  15. Joe Says:

I think it’s interesting that in your blog Bill is still referred to as Bellicheat, but suddenly Brady is exonerated. Maybe it’s the 6 SB wins that you can’t just seem to get past.

    Aaaahhh — see!

If Joe was really an a-hole and really hated Brady like some who read this site seem to think, then Joe could ***very*** easily include “ball-deflating” in each of Brady’s first-references.

    You get it! Bravo!

(Joe does not dislike Brady in the least.)

  16. ZZbuc Says:

park-violating, home-invading quarterback Tom Brady…. Joe, could you please reconsider this stupidity? I know is your blog, but when you put things like that some of us really fond this ridiculous when you name JW Americas´´s whatever….
Maybe there is something you can´t move on from?….Who knows

  17. Joe Says:

And that I will do while continuing to read your free content until you quit spitting in your readers’ eyes.

    Bye!

Joe is not spitting in anyone’s eyes and frankly, Joe is starting to get pretty freaking steamed about folks telling Joe how to write when Joe’s been doing this for 13 years!

All of a sudden Joe is supposed to change his style for reasons truly foreign to Joe, a handful of people are triggered too easily?

In fact, if this bothers you, Joe encourages you to find better content elsewhere. Knock yourself out.

    Free country, right?

  18. Joe Says:

You guys realize the more you hate the adjectives for Brady the more they will be used in articles.

    They are not going anywhere.

  19. Pewter Power Says:

Yea even though you wanna say it the best chance for Brady to get to another super bowl is why he is here, he knew there was no way he’d win another one again in his career with that sorry roster in New England

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Writing is original thought or fiction…..non-fiction… it’s not copy and pasting….

Every business should be open to criticism both good & bad….and, whether or not you wish to admit it……it is a business.

  21. John Sinclear Says:

Brady leaves New England for Tampa. Simple answer — Golf courses are snowed in during the winter months in New England !!

  22. Buc1987 Says:

That’s what I always tell them when they whine about JBF Joe.

Nobody makes you come here and complain about this and that.

Then they say I’m triggered for saying such things. smh.

  23. AwshBucs Says:

It’s about consistency Joe. Do you not see how foolish and biased it makes you look to introduce Jameis as “America’s QB Probowler Jameis Winston”…
and then proceed and slap around arguably the Greatest QB of this or any other generation who is a bonafide international superstar?

No one’s telling you how to write man but at least take a step back and realize the actual reason why people are upset. You’re not only playing favorites with Jameis but you’re disrespecting the GOAT. The guy this entire fan base is counting on to turn this team around and win some rings.

  24. Joe Says:

Every business should be open to criticism

Of course. You’re a long-time reader. Joe gets killed by readers each and every day. You know that.

Joe senses just the past two or three weeks, people are starting to get really, really thin-skinned and others are very angry who otherwise were excellent commenters for years.

Could this be the stress from all that has happened the past two months?

Joe just had to bounce someone this morning (rarely does Joe do that) because the guy went off the deep end at Joe. Been commenting on here for maybe 10 years, maybe longer.

Depresses Joe that he had to do that, but even Joe has his limits.

  25. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Thin skinned….perhaps….and it works both ways…….as you know, I’ve never been a fan of the nicknames……and have been consistent with that…..no thin skin here….

Do as you wish…..as you will anyway…

  26. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

Joe, Been reading you since your site came online. But I have to say that this many long time readers can’t be wrong. I used to laugh at the Sabby-the-Goat moniker as well as a few others. And while I disagreed with your Winston moniker I respected that this is your site and you may write whatever you want on it. However, After all these losing years, bad coaches, bad players, and simply bad Bucs luck, I too find your Brady moniker distasteful because Brady is a proven winner and just his signing with the Bucs has given your readers hope once again. Don’t really know your reason for it, but I hope that you reconsider that moniker.

  27. AwshBucs Says:

And if you really must insist upon keeping the insults before Brady’s name, why not just go full Peter King with it and list everything there is to say. Good and bad.

  28. Durango 95 Says:

Oooooh! No Joe..please don’t offend Lord Brady!!

    lol.

  29. 813bucboi Says:

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣…poor npooch….lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  30. BrooklynBucsFan Says:

I’ve alwYs thought the “America Quarterback” was an ironic name because of how much people hated in Jameis when he was drafted. He was definitely not well liked by many folks because of the allegations when he entered the league. I always felt that was what the nickname was about, irony. Mostly I just skip over reading those names these days and that works for me, maybe try that if it’s so bothersome?

  31. Rob in Land O Lakes Says:

Stpetebucsfan said: “We all suffer from “battered Buc” syndrome. We simply cannot believe that the Bucs can be good. How long did it take you after that SB win to stop questioning whether it was real or not. Bucs SB Champs? NAH.”

I’d like to think I came up with the term “battered fan syndrome” some years ago, but if you are a hardcore Bucs Fan, you know EXACTLY what SPBF is saying.

  32. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Rob

Shoulda given you attribution. The saying fits perfectly,

  33. Confused Buc Fan Says:

So many of us are daily readers and/or commenters, and thus can get annoyed by idiosyncrasies we’ve noted daily for years, ones that others might find entertaining (e.g. I wish Joe’s personal politics were kept to himself and the adjectives for Brady were skipped or at least funnier). Bottom line though,it’s Joe’s site and we all come here voluntarily and FOR FREE. Joe has the right to write what he wants on his site, we have the right to agree or disagree and comment (though Joe has the right to moderate and/or ignore those comments). If Joe goes off the deep end in anyone ‘s opinion, they have the right to go elsewhere for Bucs news. Joe should take it as a compliment that we enjoy the site enough to offer feedback to ensure that drastic measure isn’t needed, but it’s not Joe’s obligation to accept that feedback. Okay, this has been a therapeutic use of my lunch break, are ya!

  34. Confused Buc Fan Says:

    *see ya

  35. nfl fan Says:

Reading the posts above, JBF score it big time in creating TB12 moniker and you all swallow hook line and sinker, the advertisements in JBF (read: $$$ to Joe pocket) far exceeds any other blogs. If JBF blog does not play into readers’ emotion, there will not be much traffic in this blog, and Joe has to make a living, a good reading that just create a blog, sit back and watch the dough pouring in.

  36. nfl fan Says:

    typo…I mean a good living

  37. WestChap Says:

The run-on names are just not additive. They were mildly annoying for Blameless and are equally so for the GOAT, albeit in the deflating sense now versus the inflating sense before. Ick, but oh well… your site, your rep.

  38. nfl fan Says:

Obviously, it works well for Joe, bringing $$$ in. Best business to be in, COVID makes a lot of business bankrupt, creating a blog and put in a moniker that piss off a lot of people, makes this blog a good return and laugh all the way to the bank.

  39. ir8oldman Says:

If he (and he will) continues adding on to the nickname, I won’t mind seeing “NFC Champion taking, Super Bowl breaking, City renaming Tompa Bay QB Tom Brady. It would be nice.

  40. unbelievable Says:

Well, he ended that speculation pretty quickly lol.

  41. TheBradyBunch Says:

Guys seriously Joe is saying it tongue in cheek obviously. This site offers a reprieve some very serious #$@% that is going on in the world right now. It is honestly not a big deal. I think it’s a little unprofessional but this is a blog. We have much more important things to worry about then some nickname that is clearly meant as a joke.

  42. gp Says:

    Hey Joe
You could add “Orange man friend” to the moniker.

I’m real curious what kind of comments *that* would bring!

  43. Captainjimbo Says:

Say it ain’t so Joe! Very tired shtick!!!
