“Here’s Hoping The Bucs Lose ‘Em All”

May 24th, 2020

Boston columnist worn out.

Triggered!

Joe thinks the mental wear and tear of being under house arrest for two months, along with the fear of death and the icing on the cake of park-violating, home-invading quarterback Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski bolting for Hooterville Tampa Bay, has folks in Boston bent.

One of the best columnists in the country, Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe, who Joe likes a great deal and is indebted to for a couple of favors, has had it with Brady.

It’s bad enough Brady turned up his nose at Boston, now the six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback is playing for the Bucs. Even worse, Brady is a capitalist trying to sell a product, which got Shaughnessy to hit the ceiling.

Brady is now hawking an immune system supplement. During these crazy times, folks are looking for just about anything that will help them from catching The Sickness. But the fact Brady is taking advantage of a willing (gullible?) market has Shaughnessy irked.

The timing and wording of this offer is odious and repugnant. Brady should be better than this, especially after he dangerously endorsed “Neurosafe,” a concoction advertised as “a seat belt for your brain” (later taken out of circulation at the urging of the Federal Trade Commission).

Why, Tom, why? Just stop with this nonsense. Here’s hoping the Bucs lose ’em all.

Well, Joe thinks there is no better timing. If you are not going to sell a product that (allegedly) boosts immunity now, when the hell are you going to sell it?

It’s like telling an ice cream maker to shut down operations in the summer when people want something cool and refreshing and instead sell the ice cream in the dead of winter.

Or it would have been like telling a toilet paper manufacturer during the recent shortage to quit making more because it is “odious and repugnant” to take advantage of people who simply just want to wipe their @ss.

Joe’s not promoting Brady’s pills in any way. For all Joe knows they may be snake oil pills (as opposed to fish oil pills sold under the guise of cardiovascular health). You know, buyer beware?

But for a columnist to wish an entire team nothing but losing because his area’s (former) darling little quarterback wanted to finish his career in a place where he doesn’t have to use an ice scraper in October is just rich.

Oh, and God forbid Brady may make a few extra shekels on the side. The nerve! Look, if these pills are a joke, it’s Brady’s image and reputation that will be stained forever.

The Beanheads really need baseball back in a bad way. They are going mental without it.

Tsk tsk Mr. Shaughnessy, of all the flavors in the world you chose to be salty.

  2. Bojim Says:

He cant get over the fact that Brady is living his own life. Final dig?

  3. Jim Says:

I can’t help but think these are companies he owns but his friends or relatives are working them. Why else would he be hawking T-shirts and vitamins? He’s got enough money to last a few lifetimes. And, he’s still in the limelight so it’s not about staying relevant.

  4. Buczilla Says:

I love it when the “holier than thou” blowhards up North get their panties in a bunch. Your ex likes us better now, so it’s best that you move on and stop making a petty fool of yourself. 😛

  5. ©MadMax Says:

Well, most of the new 2021 mock drafts have us picking 30 or later so im pretty sure we’re going to win quite a few.

  6. Clean House Says:

Mock drafts have us picking 30 or later,
Pure hysteria…we haven’t won squat in a long time, and this is hardly a normal offseason.

  7. blimey! Says:

I could not care less about Scribes who become obsessed with .
‘ex-darlings’ or what shameless Snake Oil panacea ‘has-been cheater athlete’ been punting, I just hope the Bucs fall on their face and win just enough games to miss out on the top 2 QBs in 2021 draft…

  8. Rod Munch Says:

    BUT PEOPLE ARE SCARRREEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  9. TheBucsAnthem Says:

There is zero religious connotation to the word, nor is there any thought of such in Joe’s mind. The Merriam Webster dictionary might provide context. –Joe

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Free country……sometimes……the question for Shaughnessy is “How many games would you want Brady to lose if he were hawking this product and was still a Patriot?”
So….this has nothing to do with the product and everything to do with who he plays for.

  11. SOEbuc Says:

Joe please stop making Tom sound bad with that name. Had to listen to “America’s QB Jameis Winston” phrase for way too long. If you’re gonna to tag him it should be Tom “at the prom with his super model wife” Brady.

    GO BUCS!!!

  12. Hodad Says:

For us to lose all of them we’d have to lose Brady somehow before the season starts. If that were to happen Trevor Lawrence would be a good consolation prize. What’s Tom supposed to do, wait till after the pandemic to sell his vitamins? Jealousy is an ugly thing Mr.Shaughnessy.

  13. Bird Says:

When i read the title , i thought you let Ndog write an article

  14. Rob in Land O Lakes Says:

Hey Dan! Bucky Freakin’ Dent is dating your wife! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  15. gp Says:

Have there not been posters on this site making depecretive comments about our own recently departed quarterback?
Granted, some have been well deserved, yet they are still somewhat petty in nature.
I get it, he feels somewhat jilted.
    Hey, That’s Life!

  16. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @Tampabaybucfan

Once again, you are only defending because he is wearing a bucs jersey now!!!!!!!!! The sheep would be killing if a former player was pimping a very highly priced product at the inappropriate time!!!!!!!!! Imagine the sheep’s outrage if JW3 was pushing a highly priced plan “b” morning after pill!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course Tampabaybucfan would be piling on!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the “no excuse” season of all “no excuse” seasons!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Go Bucs 72 Says:

Maybe if Tom were selling Perm products Shaughnessy would be fine with it.

  18. Doc Says:

Winston, is still giving to Tampa community’s, Brady is trying to sell them items. Brady is all about promoting himself, like calling a couple of players together and leaking the time and place of the gathering to the media. Tell me what has Brady done besides unlawfully entering a citizen home.

  19. ManzielMadness Says:

    @realist
Comical. So Koetter gets a free pass for Hard Knocks but BA (during a pandemic) gets “no excuses”. I’ll concede that if we don’t make the playoffs this season it’ll be a failure, however, your loyalty to DK and MS is astounding.

  20. james west Says:

wa wa wa their hating life up in new england, we signed the goat, and he brought the gronk with him, must suck bad to be a patriot fan this coming season, hey i feel their pain, now they can see how we have felt for the last 11-12 years

  21. JP09 Says:

Paging @Doc f&ggot, yeah because Brady & Giselle didn’t just donate 750,000 meals to the Tampa Bay area but let’s act like he’s done nothing you bum

  22. Buc50 Says:

Hawking tee-shirts is fine. Selling snake oil and other elixirs to a gullible public is just wrong. Look at how many were duped by 45 and his so called cures. I don’t want us to lose games but I agree on the swindling part.

  23. BringBucsBack Says:

The Massholes hate Brady for leaving after only 20 years’ worth of winning & 6 championships and some Tampans jeer over the loss of an immature, turnover-prone QB of 5 years who chose to go to a rival for the NFL equivalent of nothing after demanding $30m from the organization who, against better judgement, drafted him, forgave lies & gave him every professional opportunity possible!?

Everyone has gone mad! Perhaps neurosafe was removed from the market too hastily.

El Buco, I normally don’t read your posts because, you exhibit delusional trates & I almost hate acknowledging you now however, Jameis pimpin’ a morning-after pill was quite funny & probably your best (least repulsive) post.

I would presume it would be initially marketed to college kids and it would be named either “Remember?” or “Ballin’”.

  24. Kobe Faker Says:

    “You Ain’t a Democrat

If you’re a Tom Brady fan”

    Sleepy Kobe

  25. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

So now we are judging players based on philanthropy as opposed to winning football games. Sounds good.

The guy who donates money to the community is a way better player than the guy with SIX RINGS and multiple Super Bowl MVP awards. Got it.

Take the rest of the day off Doc.

  26. Youngbucs Says:

Hey doc he’s done the same charity work Winston has done since he’s been here fool. And he’s gonna do more for the Tampa economy than Winston can even dream of doing when things get back to normal. And guess what it will all come from doing his main job effectively winning games. Just like what LeBrons presence did for Cleveland.

  27. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

If you’d like we could start talking about athletes who make millions endorsing slave labor manufacturing of sh!tty sneakers.

Your jealousy of success stinks like rotting fish on a hot day at the docks. It’s easy to recognize you little socialists.

  28. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

.666 winning percentage in Super Bowl appearances. What was that other guys record in Super Bowl games?

    .000

  29. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    Let’s keep going.

20 year career- 9 Super Bowl appearances. So 45% of our new QBs career have ended in Super Bowl berths. Meanwhile, let’s all bask in our last NFC South championship winning season. I would celebrate but I can’t remember the last time won the F’n division.

So our new QB has won more Super Bowls in the last 20 years than our team has won division titles. But please go on about charity work. Because that’s why teams exist in this league. Winning is overrated, right?

  30. BigHog Says:

The true crust in this matter is NE12 got a big payday and he got his buddy Gronk a big payday…even though we already have one of the better TE groups in football…we got fleeced, now people are asking how are we going to keep CG12…this has to work, there can be no almost, we stoped a strong building effort to eat a box of chocolates, if this doesn’t work out, it will work its way out of the other end!!!

  31. TheBradyBunch Says:

It is a little shady that Brady would be involved in hawking some supplement like this. He is a QB not a doctor or scientist. We already have an orange moron that is clueless spouting nonsense about Clorox and taking drugs to prevent the virus. He does this even though doctors say that is precisely what the drug doesn’t do and has major side affects, up to and including death. Brady does seem to love the almighty dollar and even copyrights phrases like Tompa Bay. He is the GOAT and I am ecstatic to have him but it is a bit shady for athlete to be hawking something like this. If this was JW I have no doubt posters on this site would lose their minds.

  32. Alanbucsfan Says:

Maybe the Patriots, by not re-signing Brady, have started a new curse , and they won’t win a SB again for 86 years.

  33. Dapostman Says:

    @KnuckleSandwich,

I’m going to assume that you somehow know football is a team game. Football is not a tennis match so what this player has accomplished or didn’t accomplish is directly influenced by the teammates around him.

BTW, Gale Sayers and Dick Butkis never played in a playoff game. Let that sink in about how your teammates can influence your team.

  34. Joseph Mamma Says:

It’s like telling an ice cream maker to shut down operations in the summer when people want something cool and refreshing and instead sell the ice cream in the dead of winter.

    ———————————————————————-

Ice cream really is cool and refreshing in the summer. Ben and Jerry, and Baskin Robbins would be very insulted by this comparison. ????–Joe

  35. gp Says:

Apparently, there is jealousy even within our own ranks.
I look forward to the “football” comments on this board. The petty bickering, political posturing, and race baiting is getting really disgusting though.
The article was about the pettiness of Boston. Does that mean that we should be petty too?

  36. Mark Swygert Says:

Brady has not only impacted our local economy by contributing to local charities, he, because of his record, has contributed to national attention that we are not used to. We have 5 chances during the regular season to showcase what is great about life in the Tampa Bay region. The predictable increase in tourism and other business opportunities makes the Glazers 50 million dollar investment a no-brainer, because a high tide raises all boats. Even fantasy pirate ships in NFL stadiums.

  37. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    Postman

Ok cool. So we don’t have hear about 5000 yards passing anymore. Being that it’s a team game and all. Or are stats more important than wins?

  38. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    GP

You won’t get rid of the race baiting or the sore loser democrats on this board. Ain’t happening. It’s all they’ve got and all they know. So you just have to learn to skip right past the posts.

Jerry Jones found a way to banish one of them.

  39. Dapostman Says:

    @Knuckle,

5000 yards passing is an individual milestone. It has no bearing on a TEAMS won/loss record. Just like Gale Sayers and Dick Butkis’s individual performances had no bearing on their team not ever making the playoffs. If their team was better around them they would have probably made the playoffs.

  40. ©MadMax Says:

Actually, the product TB12 is selling thats referred to here, has been around for quite a while. Ive been taking black elderberry gummies with vit C, zinc, and echinacea. Usually before bed since zinc promotes sleep. I rarely get sick. A cold a couple times in the last 5 years. I also drink 4oz of tonic water every few days. The quinine in it is good for your cells to absorb nutrients. I sometimes skip a day here and there, usually on my days off from work because my sleep pattern changes. I dont see the snake oil with this stuff……works good.

  41. D-Rome Says:

Grew up in MA and never liked Shaughnessy. He’s an agenda driven reporter who does his best to turn fans against players or teams, especially with the Red Sox.

  42. Howard Cosell Says:

    Bucs have h8terz

    That’s awesome

    He mad

  43. BucEmUp Says:

He knows this virus is being blown out of proportion and wants the take advantage of the sheep….cant blame him

  44. DaBux Says:

Bawston is full of Bitter Brady Beer Face people. LOLOL, now I PRAY we win it all, just to watch them react.

  45. Confused Buc Fan Says:

Everyone go lookup the definition of “shill” and see if it reminds you of anyone.

So you’re saying Brady is shilling immune supplements?
    You mad bro?

  47. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

    Postman

It’s an individual stat that relies on team play. No offense bud, but you can’t have it both ways. Brady was instrumental in every one of those SB wins, not to mention the teams record. It’s nutty to keep denying the success the man has had and whether or not he can maintain that level of play.

This debate is useless. We’ll find out where we’re at once the season starts. I know many fans hope we lose opening day so they can find some type of vindication. If that’s what makes them happy, so be it. That ain’t me.

  48. dalvincookrules Says:

Well, unfortunately, I have to live in Boston and I will tell you these fans up here are really the worst. They treat their team worse than the Romans treated their gladiators–win every game or get trashed. Seeing the Patriots lose, especially to the Dolphins, is the best time of the year for me.

Needless to say, I’ve never been a fan of their super fake all-American boy. He’s definitely at the tail end of his career and throws with as much velocity nowadays as some grandpas–we’re talking sub-45mph.

Belicheat will replace Brady more than adequately with another system QB.
