“There’s No Other Place I Would Rather Be”
March 22nd, 2020Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett must like Coke. Because he went on local TV and rattled off a line that sounds like it came from a Coke commercial.
Shaq is as fired up as Bucs fans are that Tom Brady and his six rings are coming to Tampa Bay.
With a new contract in hand (for now — he and the Bucs are still working on a long-term deal), life is good for Shaq. Major cash in the bakn and a six-time Super Bowl winner behind center.
Shaq appeared on WFLA-TV Channel 8 to chat with Karen Loftus and, well, Shaq is pumped.
“I’ve been feeling the love since day one,” Barrett said. “I’m very appreciative that [the Bucs] want me for another year and that we’re still working to get a multi-year deal done.
“So I’m excited for what the future’s got in-store for Tampa. I love the organization, love everything about it, love the city. There’s no other place I would rather be right now.”
As for Brady, Shaq said the Bucs are immediately turned into playoff contenders.
“I’ve been wanting to get back to winning football, being a contender, going to the playoffs, having a chance to be a champion,” Barrett said. “With Tom Brady that instantly took our chances up a lot.”
Shaq is a good dude. Probably he is enjoying the sweet taste of success more than most because he came up the hard way and no one expected him to ever lead the NFL in sacks.
Perfect timing for Shaq; perfect timing for the Bucs.

Give Shaq a 2nd job as a spokesperson for the Tampa Chamber of Commerce……I mean, you couldn’t have better. This guy not only says the right things but you don’t have to hunt him down and twist his arm to speak.

Love the attitude. Love his hard work and devotion.
Finally some seriously positive vibe for this year. Been a LONG, LONG time since Bucs fans could feel like this

why the heck are all my comments going into moderation this past week?

At first I thought Shaq was a one game wonder (after a four sack game), but after watching several games, I couldn’t believe all the moves he has. I would be shocked if he didn’t have another pro-bowl season.

If he keeps up the sacks, Tampa may name something after him. Look what we did for LeRoy Selmon.

We are going to be a FORCE this year (if it’s played) damn can’t wait for fall!

Instant contenders with Brady. That is fact. Can’t be argued. Division, Confernce, or NFL? Who knows. The best we got in the last five years was maybe we can compete for wild card. Some Bucs fans were acting like 8-8 would satisfy them…or some were ignorant enough to think a QB throwing for 5K meant something. This was all clearly “shooting for the floor.” Loser mentality. Buc players were clearly courteous of Winston, but they knew, like all others, that he really had to go. Had to give someone else a chance. Would like to see Shaq and Godwin locked-up long term by mid-season. Hopefully the performance of both makes it a no-brainer.

Speaking of Winston…and comparing to other Bucs free agents…odd that Suh is getting more buzz, and it is positive buzz…compared to Winston, where any reports at all seem negative on him…that is, teams are pushing back or staying away. It was nice for a change to have people seeking our free agents that are worthy…and also that they WANT to come back to the Bucs…like JPP, and certainly Shaq, whom they tagged before he coould get away. Sorry to see Nassib slip away, but he knew he was an odd man out. He checked his sheet and saw the writing on the wall. The ex-QB…not so much.

It is good when a guy who just got the tag slapped on him is very positive, as opposed to grumbling publicly that he didn’t get what he wanted. So kudos to Shaq. Also odd that even with a lower offer, NE disrespected Brady so much they didn’t even seem to talk about that. Keepoing the GOAT for one more year seemed logical.

Speaking of Nassib, hopefully Rod Marinelli will teach him how to wrap up, not putting any loses on the guy but the amount of times a QB escaped from him and let the team get another possession or TD may have made a difference in last years record also. Put the QB on the ground.

Hope Shaq is here for a long time

One more class act….

It would be amazing if he was the back to back sack leader.

What pass rush? The “SHAQ ATTACK”!!!!!!!! That pass rush!!!! We couldnt afford a multi year deal for him yet….he knows. All good….its coming
If im buying one of the new jerseys, its going to be his SB58!!!! I might be laid off soon, so i’ll have to wait….but he’s gonna be right there with the greats…Sapp, Brooks, Atrain, Barber, and of course Big Rice!!!! I need to find that jersey too.

Come on Joe….youre gonna dump my post?
March 22nd, 2020 at 2:14 pm
oh well….just said we had a pass rush in Shaq attack and im buying his jersey when i can afford it….he’s going down as one of the greats here!
March 22nd, 2020 at 2:18 pm
We had to make use of funds where they count….the tag was one of them for him…he knows the big picture…another reason I love having him here….the gig deal is coming.

One thing BA has brought to this team…he’s straightened out our woeful locker room.
This is the very best team chemistry I’ve ever seen here. The SB team certainly meshed well but I do not believe they were as tight as these guys are becoming.
This is why I laugh when people suggest AB. After all the sturm and drang over the years because of head cases in the locker room it just amazes me that now that we’ve FINALLY straightened out we’d even think of adding a cancer like AB.

Thanks Joe, i see it now….going into the mod filter sucks, but is what it is…all good man.
