Report: Brady Out Of The Running For 49ers

March 15th, 2020

“You like that, Ira?”

Those Tom Brady odds keep improving, or they’re getting worse. It all depends on your Buccaneers-loving perspective.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com is reporting now that the San Francisco 49ers will not be pursuing Brady. Florio’s info comes from his regular NBC Sports Radio co-host, former Patriots offensive assistant coach and ex-Bucs quarterback Chris Simms.

“It was Tom Brady’s No. 1 choice . . . to go to San Francisco and be the starting quarterback,” Simms says, adding that the 49ers eventually declined to pursue Brady.

So the Titans are out of the Brady chase and down go the Niners.

If the Bucs are really “all-in” to land Brady, their should be few roadblocks, unless Bill Belicheat is willing open the team checkbook like he never does.

As for the Raiders, Joe can’t figure out why Brady would want to land in the same division as Patrick Mahomes.

I hope he goes to the Raiders and we get Carr.
Teddy is my 2nd choice and I don’t see Brady being a fit with us….

…. but as long as JayMiss is gone I’ll be ECSTATICALLY CLUELESS and enjoy the added wins.

  2. Ocala Says:

The Bucs should go Brady or Winston.

  3. Christopher Schiefen Says:

The rich man’s version of Brad Johnson. And we saw how that worked out.

  4. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    No ! Brady

  5. ATrain Says:

    I have to say
I’m not sold on Brady coming here

I would rather have Carr I think he has been coached wrong and would do well here with the weapons we have

  6. Gofortheface30 Says:

Tampa really should be a no brained compared to the Raiders. Theoretically, if that’s what it came down to. But running with hypotheticals here, let’s say they get Brady – then you know they’re gnna go after a Melvin Gordon, or a Fournette. Now take a moment to think about that roster. Tom freaking Brady handing off to a pro bowler and throwing to multiple pro bowlers. That’s a pretty glamorous team to say the least, season ticket waiting list, National tv every damn week. Listen, not even 100mg of cialis would make the glazers as erect. You better believe the Bucs are going to go after this

  7. Bucsfan0784 Says:

There is nothing for them to go after because no one else wants Brady. Just Tampa bay lol. Where washed up players go to get paid off their name, take the franchises money, do nothing, then retire.

  8. MadMax Says:

Thats because he’s coming to Tampa!!!!

Told yall this 4 months ago…..jeeze some never listen!

  9. Pryda...Sec147 Says:

He staying in NE and alTB keeping Jaboo it’s been clear since before season ended.

  10. Bucs Guy Says:

I agree with DooahLaruem but I believe this is Favre 2.0 — using the Bucs to het more money elsewhere.

  11. Gofortheface30 Says:

Bucs fan 0784 – that wasn’t the point guy. Whether or not they will be a Super Bowl team is a different conversation. Whether you’d buy in to it or not, the fact is it would most certainly breath life in to a franchise that doesn’t get a lot of run nationally, and psychologically our defensive players would have to be nothing short of lit out of their mind playing in front of a packed house on national tv. It would be fun. People like you want to talk about rebuilding, well buddy the Bucs have been “rebuilding” for the past 20years, the future isn’t promised. The Bucs need some life

  12. james west Says:

i’m in 100% agreement with gofortheface30, brady is what this franchise needs right now, unquestionably to deny that is insanity

  13. kyle Says:

dont believe the hype… brady will resign w the pats. Im hoping we make a strong run at bridgewater. i will be so disappointed if they bring winston back again, hes a frigging clown and always has been.. #GOAWAYJAMEIS

  14. soggy Says:

anybody that thinks brady would be worse than JW must be on the pipe..

  15. Jeagan1999 Says:

Forget the fact he is 42. He takes great care of himself physically, and he is the consummate leader and professional. He still has the tools to be a great QB….and with a few minor upgrades (RB and OL being the biggest needs), the Bucs can be a playoff team for the next few seasons if Brady come to Tampa.

Sure, we will need to draft a young guy to groom, but TB12 is a win now play for a team that has the kind of weapons that Brady can take full advantage of! I’m excited to see what the next 48 hrs brings.

  16. Hethrew 30 Says:

What about Indy? I know we hear about Teddy and Rivers possibly going there too, but I thought I heard Brady in the mix too. But the field is narrowing.

Wow, have you guys seen all the buzz about Winston, who gets to land him as their prize?

No, I’m not seeing it either.

  17. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Belicheat is showing his boss skills/resumè once again. I thought the 9ers would be the only place Brady may go. No bluster/bad mouthing out of Belicheat @ Brady ( six rings together may have something to do with that )…just hardball behind the scenes. Watch for Brady to return to The Pats with Bob “Hoppy Ending” Kraft telling the press “we love having “Tommy” back”.

  18. mark2001 Says:

Just to set the record straight…. Favre didn’t use us as a bargaining chip. In fact he was traded from GB to the Jets. I think they wanted him out of the NFC.

  19. Oneilbucs Says:

The Patriots are talking to Brady people right now he’s not coming to to Tampa .

  20. TampaTown Says:

Hey all you doofuses: Brady needs a new contract too. Has to pretend there’s outside interest. Spoiler Alert: Not. Going. To. Happen.

  21. Gofortheface30 Says:

Tampatown – I think everyone knows that you dildo

  22. Stevebobucsfan Says:

All I will say about all Brady to Tampa stuff is, the Bucs better make damn sure they shore up the OL, and have a capable back up who can step in and not miss a beat. We know Brady doesn’t move well, he’s 42 years old and who’s to say Brady will make it through a full season with the Bucs and also how well is he gonna work in Arians offense

  23. TampaTown Says:

    Face:
    Sure doesn’t seem like it.

  24. Buccfan37 Says:

Yeah let’s bring in an old washed up QB as a gimmick to build the crowds. No thanks Brady, but then is there a nfl team dumb enough to actually want you? Jameis or the old codger. Tough choice.

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    Teddy

    GO BUCS

  26. westernbuc Says:

Brady wants to win, preferably without Belichick. It’s not about money and the raiders are trash. He will go somewhere poised to win THIS season.

I still think he stays in New England, but man if he is a Buc…

  27. PuertoRicanBucFan Says:

How is Brady washed up? I swear I see some of the dumbest comments on here, it’s just ludicrous.
