Becht: Brady Doesn’t Want AFC West

March 17th, 2020

Former Bucs TE explains.

Long before free agency started, Joe had future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady pegged for three teams.

Joe thought Los Angeles (Chargers), Miami and Las Vegas would be his destinations and it had everything to do with non-football business decisions.

For those unaware, Brady’s wife is a supermodel who likely has interest in furthering her career in Hollywood. Also, Brady earlier this month launched a Hollywood production company with some Tinseltown heavy hitters involved.

But on the chance that Brady picks his new team because of football, Anthony Becht said it is a no-brainer. It is the Bucs.

In short, if Brady picks the Bucs for football reasons, Becht believes Brady wants another ring. And Becht also believes Brady is smart enough to know he won’t be the best quarterback in the AFC West if he chooses the Chargers.

Time will tell if Brady wants to play to further his glorious career, or is making some good coin on his final NFL contract all the while setting up his wife’s business as well as his own Los Angeles business venture.

Back to Pats…just needs Belicheat to mumble one nice word.

Id take Brady or Fitz in a heartbeat. Not too many chances to get Canton caliber guys.

  3. Brad Says:

Miami is in it still, and who’s to say Vegas isn’t? We’ve been left at the alter too many times to believe he’s coming.

  4. Anonymous Says:

Anyone but Winston!!! With the offensive weapons the Bucs have, A VERY GOOD QB, maybe not great, will more than get the job done. A 3 to 1 – TD to INT. ratio , and an improved running game, will win a ton of games. More than enough to make the playoffs.

  5. Larry Harmon Says:

Anyone but Winstion!!! Given the offensive weapons the Bucs have, a solid QB with a 3 to 1, TD to INT ratio, an improved running game, and the defense the Bucs had at the last half of the 2019 season, will be more than good enough to make the playoffs. After that, anything is possible.

  6. Bird Says:

    Brad

Las vegas in same chiefs division with chargers
    No one wants mahammos
Plus gruden just signed mariota to compete with carr

And the fins are in rebuild mode
They traded away most of their decent players last year

  7. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

Fitz is a Canton caliber guy? In what reality?

  8. Pewter power Says:

Raiders and chargers not ready to compete with chiefs, they cant compete with titans or Patriots without Brady.

  9. Craig Says:

Florida is a no state income tax zone. It also has re-entered the movie biz and Brady has a new production company to play with.

That makes the sun of Tampa or Miami look better than the smog hidden Cali sun.

    30 hours till blast off.

  10. Mister Negative Nancy Says:

I think Brady wants to see Belichik in the Super Bowl and beat him there. And doesn’t want to have conflicting loyalties with the Krafts if he has to knock the Patriots out of the playoffs. So NFC only… and there aren’t many teams in the NFC that are QB shopping besides the Bucs are there?

  11. Go Bucs 72 Says:

Fitz will be Canton when he buys a bus ticket. That stupid guy with the numbers always says that nonsense.

  12. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Gotta be the Chargers for a multitude of reasons. Color me shocked he isn’t a Pat any longer honestly. As far as being afraid of KC…I don’t buy it. I loved the Andy Reid feel good win…but they had a fortuitous run to the title. Didn’t have to play N.E. or the Ravens…got to remain at home throughout the playoffs…and fell behind in each game. They won’t be completely dominant moving forward. Maholmes with always give them a great chance though. Gotta be L.A. for Brady. Good call, Joe.

  13. Jim Says:

Tampa Bay? Giselle, no. But Brady’s reputation is cast in iron; he can afford to take the Bucs on as a fun project, so I think there’s still a chance…

  14. Jim Says:

Oh, and you Fitzpatrick bashers, his jersey is in Canton, for setting the record for consecutive 400-yard passing games. Thought we all knew that…

  15. CalBucsFan Says:

If it were a football only decision then it’s TB, but it’s not, it’s more than that.

He’s a California kid, he’s started a new Hollywood production company , he has a brand already in TB12, his wife is an international model who is ready to launch a Hollywood career.

Tampa may offer the best roster and coach if football were the ONLY thing that mattered, and no FLA state income tax is a plus, but no way the money is TBs deciding factor and it’s doubtful football is the deciding factor either.

As TB said in his parting message this morning, it’s time for a new stage in his life, and the stage types in Tampa are not the kind he or his wife are looking for. He will choose the LA Chargers (damn it) and now this former Tampa guy will be inundated with the GOAT games on TV every week and interviewed on the news every night, just like now with LeBron all the time since he joined the Lakers. And all the cocky California fans bragging how great their teams are!

I may live out here now, but as an east coast guy who worked his way across country, DAMN, I still hate LA, and in the next couple of days it will get worse because TB will join the Chargers and once again, the Bucs will be left at the altar holding the flowers.

  16. MirrorMirrowOnTheWall Says:

Brady only plays for one reason. Why disrespect the man?

  17. WestChap Says:

Don’t we play KC next year? Bucs schedule is not going to be a QB cake walk… Mahomes, 2 Brees, 2 Ryan, Aaron Rodgers… and for funsies Carr, Stafford and Goff. Do 11-5 or better with that schedule, march through playoffs to a home game SB and win it all… no doubters left on the planet! GOAT!

  18. $acbuc$ Says:

    Yesss

  19. $acbuc$ Says:

I came out of quarantine to say yess we got Brady

  20. Dr.Not For Long Says:

I agree with West chap we’re going I have a tough schedule next year I’m glad we got Brady but the uniforms we look like Atlanta falcons with silver helmets so basic I didn’t think there’s orange in there !
