    @Joes
One sentence you say that Leftwich should throw out the short out route and the slant route because of Winston’s struggles then later in the podcast it’s suggested that Winston might be a better fit in a west coast offense. Isn’t the west coast offense primarily made up of short quick routes that requires quick decisions and accuracy from the QB? BTW the last pick 6 against the Falcons was a curl route, do they need to throw that one out too and just throw seam routes all game?

Sounds like a QB problem and not necessarily the play caller. Last year it was Dirks fault this year it’s Leftwich’s fault.

  2. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

Not coaching stupid. Coaching stubborn players.

I just got to get better!

    Does that ring a bell???

  3. Troy Says:

The “who are you going to get that’s better?” argument is just nonsense when it comes to Winston. I’ll tell you why. What do you mean by “better”? And better at what price? $27 million? $21 million? $10 million?

Just an example – I define better as throwing less than 10 picks in a season because I believe we’re a playoff team with a QB that does this and I see Brady out there. (Putting aside availability) So if my choice is Brady for $30 million or Winston at $27 million. It’s a no-brainer. I’m taking Brady and the proven pedigree.

This is my point – you have to define what better means. Once we get it defined, then we can debate who’s actually “BETTER”.

  4. Bob Higginbotham Says:

Steve, you make such a difference in the podcast! Don’t stop!

  5. NYbucsfan Says:

When is the let’s get rid of Winston poll going up?

Joe doesn’t see any free agent quarterback in his prime (unless it is Drew Brees) who would be better, sorry.

Tom Brady? In his prime, of course. He’s not in his prime.
If that is “nonsense,” so be it.

  7. Tackleblockwin Says:

Joe who do you think in the Bucs organization will make the decision on Jameis?

  8. THETRUTH Says:

Bridgewater is year older than Winston and has shown more understanding of the positIon than JW. He took on the saints offense which is an attack style offense and flourished.. why you think on JW can throw for 5000 in this offense is BULL, just need accurate , smart QB who doesn’t make bonehead INT 30 times a year and fumble 7 times.. those TO turned into over 100points for opposing team.

kill your sAlary cap for a guy who will be inconsistent as he has 5 YEARS IN A ROW

  9. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

The “who’s better argument” is silly as it can’t be hard to find a qb who will be 28th in completion percentage and 32nd in turnovers

As a fan you’d live with less TDs and yards if it meant not gifting the opponents free points and field position putting more pressure on a defense

  10. Joe Says:

Joe who do you think in the Bucs organization will make the decision on Jameis?

    The Glazer family.

  11. BrianBucs Says:

    Who’s out there better Winston?

Anybody that doesn’t throw 30 interceptions.
Anybody that doesnt throw 7 game losing pick 6’s.
Anybody that doesn’t keep costing his team games.
Anybody that doesn’t continually stare down his recievers.
Anybody that doesn’t keep making bonehead plays and bad decisions.
Anybody that doesn’t keep getting fooled by coverages.
Anybody that doesn’t have the last name Winston

  12. Troy Says:

    Joe,

Just define what you mean by “Better”? Is it the 30 interceptions “Better”? The stare down your receivers “Better”? Or should I only look at the good Jameis when I evaluate things and decide “Better”? What is it?

He’s not “Better” by my definition because my definition includes the picks, the receiver stare-downs, the lack of improvement, the lack of playoff appearances. Dalton is better, Brady is definitely better, and so is Bridgewater. This doesn’t include my definition of “Better” if we include the draft.

Here’s what I think – You don’t want to get pinned down by defining “Better” because Jameis isn’t “Better” but he’s who you want as the QB. I’m fine with that. But just say that.

  13. Adrnagy Says:

It will be interesting if Bucs sign Winston 25+m. I don’t think a high price backup Qb will be available to sign. We can see Gabbert back again.

  14. Lavonte 1of1 Says:

Everyone is wasting their breath on Winston. AS long as Licht is in his high tower Winston will be the QB next season.

  15. unbelievable Says:

Teddy checkdown would be in a body bag behind this o-line.

You guys also realize that he only threw 5 TDs in his 5 other games besides playing against out terrible defense?

You think the Bucs are making it to the post season with only 16 TDs the entire season from their QB?

Child please. Plus, his style does not fit Arians scheme whatsoever.
