Offense Ties A Record

December 15th, 2019

Caps record-tying drive

Man, the records that were made or tied today.

First, there was Mr. Excitement, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, setting an NFL passing record.

Then there was Shaq Barrett tying a team sack record.

Then there was Breshad Perriman setting a personal record.

And the Bucs offense got into the mood by setting a record of their own.

After Justin Watson fell backward fielding a punt and grazed the ball as a result, the Bucs actually dodged a bullet when the ball was pushed out at the Bucs-1.

But that really painted the Bucs in a corner.

Never fear, America’s Quarterback is here!

On third-and-six, Jameis completed three straight passes on throws of 11, 53 and 33 yards, the final pass to Scotty Miller for his first NFL touchdown to give the Bucs a 14-0 lead.

And yes, being that it is a 99-yard scoring drive, it tied a Bucs franchise record (as you cannot have a drive of more than 99 yards).

And Jenna Laine of ESPN documents that is the longest drive the Bucs have had in decades.

So on a day when many records were tied or broken, the Bucs offense tied a team record as well.

Has JayMiss proven he doesn’t need Evans or is the sample size to small?

Next year they should add one more coach to the already over coached staff… a hamstring coach.

  9. JimmyJack Says:

Look Watson did help make an impact today. So everyone contributed.

Even OJ. But overall he was awful today.

  10. JimmyJack Says:

No Risk it…….He’s not aboalable right now. He is out searching for answers.

I love the momentum the Bucs have built playing marginal talent. The Texans are good and the QB is dangerous. A win next week would be huge.

Sorry, Scotty, subject “professional” evaluation (same crew that thought) Johnny Manziel) was a first round pick knows what the (heck) they are talking about….Play. Your. Game! F these dip(sticks)! Keep your hammy’s loose, kid!

Look at that little Scotty Miller go.

  14. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

Did Watson lose that punt in the Sun or was it that wind coming off Lake Michigan?

  15. Adrnagy Says:

So for every catch Scotty makes he misses two games ?

Indoor stadium and Lake Michigan is on the other side of the state.

Part of the idea of getting Winston to resign at a discount has to do with the idea that other teams would be scared of the turnovers…

But how much do you think Gruden would pay for Winston right now? Gruden clearly hates Carr who is such a d-bag he throws it out of bounds on 4th down, at the goalline last week rather than throwing it up for grabs and risking an INT on his stat sheet. But that’s what the anti-Winston crowd would love, a QB who only has 8 INTs on the year, even if it’s with the #24 offense.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis leads the NFL in yardage by at least 200 yards…..

Drew Rosenhaus just peed his pants a little.

  22. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

@Ghost of Darrell Henderson, Lake Michigan is a very long way from Detroit. Actually, Lakes Huron and Lake Erie are closer to Detroit than Lake Michigan is.

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis up over Prescott by about 240 yards….

  24. Rod Munch Says:

The stupid Falcons gave up a late score, so the Bucs are no longer the #2 offense, they’re #3 by 3 total points. But we still have two weeks to secure that #2 ranking, which of course would be the highest in team history.

The Ravens are #1, very unlikely we’d catch them unless they sit their starters. Not sure of their playoff tiebreakers so I don’t know if that’s likely or not.

  25. Rod Munch Says:

LOL! The Falcons beat the 49ers…

  26. DB55 Says:

If I’m not mistaken groping is encouraged in Vegas.

  27. Tnew Says:

Will we have a Freddie Martino sighting. The REAL fans want to know!!!!!

  28. Rod Munch Says:

Tnew – He signed with the Vipers so the Bucs can’t bring him back even if they wanted to.

  29. TexBuc Says:

Love the 4 wins in row hoping for 5 next week
