Extra Snaps And Ivy League Grammar

December 9th, 2019

Shows up.

Aside from the win, of course, Joe was happy as hell to see second-year receiver Justin Watson contribute to the offense.

Watson seemed to damn near drop his way off the roster during training camp and preseason practices; the guy had a really bad case of the dropsies.

In underwear football, Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians sang Watson’s praises but Watson’s limited reps this season, combined with having Scotty Miller overtake him on the depth chart, said all you need to know about what Arians felt about Watson.

As Joe wrote earlier, Watson was so far into Arians’ doghouse that he was locked in the broom closet.

Yesterday due to injuries, the Bucs needed Watson, they had no other choice. With Miller inactive and Mike Evans getting hurt, Watson came off the bench to have a nice game (5 receptions, 59 yards), and catch his first career touchdown.

“For anyone that’s been at practice, me and Jameis have gotten a ton of extra reps, whether it’s after practice, before practice, in the offseason,” Watson said. “It hasn’t been a lot on Sundays, but I’ve caught a lot of balls from his hands.”

Joe likes Watson a lot and hopes he’s a productive Bucs player for years to come. He’s very good on special teams; he led the Bucs in special teams tackles last year as a rookie and served as punt returner yesterday.

But c’mon man, didn’t you learn better King’s English at Penn than that? (Joe’s joking here.)

Not sure if the touchdown pass from America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, was underthrown or Watson overran the route, but he did make a nice adjustment to the ball, scooping it up just before it hit the grass.

At least we now know Watson is alive. And with Evans maybe out for the year, and who knows about Miller, Watson will likely get more opportunities to prove he belongs in 2020.

I think Winston kinda floated that pass to give Watson time to adjust to it. He was wide open. If he throws a dart no way Watson catches it.

That route had broken down and Jameis double-pumped to make the pass to Watson…..it was underthrown….the great one-handed catch by Perriman was overthrown…..now, giving credit the deep pass to ME13 was right on the money…..hit him in stride….surprised him so much he pulled a hammy…..

I don’t agree he hit him in perfect stride. Though it was a VERY nice down field connection for Jameis, watch the film and Mike had to slow up just a bit at the end to make the grab and that’s what I was thinking possibly that caused the hamstring. Then again, I’m not a doctor so what the hell do I know. Excited to see if Watson can turn into the next star addition to our receiving corps.

@soe just stop dude, the pass hit mike right in stride. Its ridiculous how every throw jameis makes is magnified by people like you. Nope mike had to slow down by .2 mph to catch that ball, and now blaming the hammy on a throw? Stupidity runs rampant on this site

Winston should have a field day Sunday against the Lions whose DB’s rank 30th in the NFl. Maybe RG should start so Winston can rest his thumb.

i think that pass to ME13 was right on the money…hit him in stride….imo, he pulled his hammy when he kicked his leg up to avoid being tripped up by the defender….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

Soe with the dumb a$$ post of the day!

Yes I’ve bin wanting this guy to get in the action with his speed and size he’s very similar to ME13 an he gets to learn from him to. I remember when ME13 had the case of the dropsies a few years ago an he got his hands right. Kudos to JW17 for stepping up.

Amazing with Perriman’s struggles and Bobo getting cut that Watson didn’t get more looks. Perriman is now balling out and hopefully that continues, though history is not on his side. Maybe he just needed confidence. Same with Watson. He ran good crisp routes yesterday. Would still like to see OJ and Brate used in the slot as they would be matchup nightmares for DB’s and LB’s but Watson should he was ready and prepared to step in. Jameis obviously trusts him (and maybe the defense ignored him a little).

It’s a sad state that in today’s world proper grammar is not taught in schools. The use of pronouns in their proper case has been lost. The correct use of adverbs and adjectives has also become a lost cause. Language changes over time and this is the sad result. For me it it is not joke, but before too many years pass I will not be around to notice. Life and bad language moves on.

I also really like Justin Watson, I know they were raving over Scotty Miller’s Speed but JW17 is just as fast or faster 4.3 speed, plus he is a lot taller. So hopefully he doesn’t drop any more balls and he will blow up in this offense soon.

  12. Hodad Says:

He’s literally head, and shoulders better then lil boy band Scotty Miller.

  13. Just Sayin’ Says:

Hey dummy he didn’t use improper grammar. Unlike Joe who posts the wrong they’re, their, there & you’re your all the time.
