Vita Vea Chatter

November 25th, 2019

Bucs DT Vita Vea goes airborne as he looks the ball into his hands for his first NFL touchdown Sunday.

Yes, the big topic among players in the Bucs locker room yesterday was giving Vita Vea mad props for catching a touchdown pass.

In fact, the play was only hours old. It wasn’t installed into the gameplan until Friday.

So here are a few excerpts of what Bucs coaches and players were saying about Vea.

Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians: “Just looking at their goal line situation, I thought he’d pop out of there pretty clean. It was the perfect time. [Offensive coordinator] Byron [Leftwich] called it at the perfect time.”

Wide receiver Chris Godwin: “It was awesome seeing Vita get in there. I think Vita is one of the better athletes on this team. I don’t know if you all saw his high school highlights but he played running back in high school. You all have to check that out.”

America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston: “I knew when we were on the one-yard line, I knew it was coming and that they wouldn’t be expecting it. It was big time. He made a great catch. I knew that he was going to catch the ball wherever it was. It was really big for the team morale to score that touchdown.”

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh: “I’m super proud of the man. He’s an athletic, young kid. He’s going to continue to play at a high level. Being able to use him on offense is just icing on the cake.”

Outside linebacker Shaq Barrett: “I was so excited. I was looking the whole play, ‘He might be blocked, he’s open!’ I jumped up so high. I was so happy.”

My favorite moment since Fitzmagic’s Week 2 press conference last year. Vita Vea is a more reliable pass catcher than OJ Howard.

That said, if he missed catching that pass Byron Leftwich would have been crucified for making that play call.

It was actually more than a yard, but they stopped counting at the goal line.

Reminded me of when Sapp did it.

Being more reliable than the former beast OJ is not very difficult pal…. low standard bucfan led by joe wete fooled by another bust impersonating a beast in OJ

Not that easy a catch, running right and looking back like that.

A good pick by Licht, and it looks like Mr. White is also coming along.

Next week’s matchup between Vea and Nelson is going to be legendary!

Exactly…….when the play is executed, it’s hard to question the call….

We have had a failure to execute many short yardage plays…..this one worked because Vea made the catch.

I love how they are all excited for him. It feels like they’re coming together as a team. I couldn’t believe how cautiously excited I feel after yesterday’s game. The secondary looks great.

Joe- I know everyone is wondering why Dean hadn’t played more. I noticed after Davis’s interception that a huge group of players are running off super pumped after the Int, but Dean didn’t run in there and get into it with Davis, etc. I’m wondering about the chemistry. I know they played together in college, but….

But what an awesome game. It feels so nice to win. Go Bucs!!!

^Nelson will still need help….double team is the only way!

    Yo LUV!! Hope you’re good!

Whats your take on Auburn DT Dereck Brown? Can you imagine him beside V? I dont think Suh will be back, but he did hussle a lot yesterday, so maybe. If he comes back, then I want that big Clemson Safety Isaiah Simmons…thoughts on him too please if you have the time.

And to think you guys wanted Derwin James?🤣😂🤣😂 what’s he doing this year btw?!?! FSU fans are so clueless!!😂

  17. DooshLaRue Says:

Really Joe, You call that airborne?

  18. Buccfan37 Says:

How could the Falcons not know what to expect there if they reviewed Vea being used around that backfield area in a earlier game. He stuck out like a sore thumb over there.

    So cool.

VV is better looking than Sapp by a long shot!! Is he friendly with the fans? Sapp was a fan ahole deluxe.
