How Shaq Will Attack

November 10th, 2019

Defending Kyler Murray.

The Bucs have their work cut out for them today.

The NFL is starting to evolve, it seems. In Baltimore, scrambling quarterback Lamar Jackson is changing the game before our eyes the way he slashes, Michael Vick style, through defenses.

Right now Joe would say Jackson is the leading candidate for Offensive Player of the Year.

And in Arizona, the Cardinals have a quarterback who is not unlike Jackson. Kyler Murray may be a better passer, and may be a more accurate passer. But when it comes to speed, Murray may have no equal.

“He is fast!” Bucs outside linebacker and the NFL’s leading sacker, Shaq Barrett told Joe last week. But Barrett cautioned the trick with Murray isn’t just running as fast as he is.

“It’s hard to [bottle up Murray],” Shaq said. “You can’t just run fast. It’s not that easy.”

What Barrett said the Bucs have to do is try to turn Murray into a pocket passer.

“We just have to contain him,” Barrett said. “He is fast. We cannot rush scared but we have to contain him.”

So apparently the Bucs believe Murray is more dangerous in the pocket than outside.

That may be. But the Bucs’ front seven is playing really well. And we all know how horrid the Bucs’ pass defense is. Even though Murray has elite wheels, Joe would be more than content if the Bucs flush Murray out of the pocket.

Yeah, Murray and burn you with his wheels. But it’s damn near a sure bet that any quarterback can burn the Bucs with his arm, including a rookie like Murray.

Is your man a BUTT guy he seems to enjoy staring at receivers arses has they trot into the endzone….

  7. Sport Says:

Joe missed his coffee this am. Shaq said they are trying to make him a pocket passer, then Joe interprets that he is more dangerous in the pocket. Typo as well, but we know editing isn’t necessary anymore as misspelling and grammatical errors are rampant throughout blogs and large media outlets.

    On Murray:
We should easily handle his running with our Dline and linebacker speed. I’ll be keying in on White and David today. They are the potential spies for Murray. They will have to play almost perfectly to prevent those demoralizing qback runs in tight situations.

Saying a little prayer, as always, for good JW to show up.

    In BA I Trust!

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

Kyler Murray always does good against BIG 12 defenses

And what is winning now going to accomplish?

  11. Tbbucs3 Says:

^ What is losing gonna accomplish? Other than moving from the 7th pick to the 5th pick and destroying an already broken culture.

  12. Buccfan37 Says:

I don’t believe when this season is finished that the Bucs will pick top ten in next year’s draft. So a few more wins are more than likely.
