Can’t Touch This!

November 18th, 2019

Mrs. Bucco Bruce chimes in.

Yesterday the zebras botched a couple of calls in the Bucs’ loss to the Saints.

After the game, Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians was asked about the crazy hand-checking offensive pass interference call on Mike Evans.

(Arians reacted to the verdict of the challenged call that referees ruled against him as if a seven-year-old was told by his mother no more video games this month as penance for not eating his peas.)

Arians quickly said he wouldn’t talk about referees any longer because last week he got a NastyGram from the NFL telling him to clam up about the officials, or else.

And while NFL strongman Roger Goodell and his goons can muzzle Arians, they have no jurisdiction about trying to place a gag order on his wife, Christine. A lawyer by trade, she knows this.

So Christine Arians took to Twitter to blast NFL zebras today.

And just in case this tweet happens to vanish, below is a screenshot. It’s not the first time Mrs. Arians has blasted NFL officiating.

Tell Joe that doesn’t sound like Arians himself? In fact, Joe wouldn’t be shocked to learn Arians was using his wife’s account.

Joe hopes Arians’ wife knows the NFL can track the IP address of where that Twitter post was sent. In the meantime, Joe encourages Mrs. Arians to keep on keeping on. At the very least, this is entertaining.

(Though the account is not verified, browsing the timeline it seems to fit Arians’ wife’s profile and interests.)

  2. JustBucNwin Says:

The PI call on Evans…was complete BS!

The first down call where Brees jumped as if he was crossing the goal line…was BS!

These two calls were detrimental to us and each week the zebras seem to get it wrong across the NFL! No accountability!

  3. bucsfaninchina Says:

Time to thank the Saints, the biggest whiners the NFL has ever seen. Bad calls happen to you, sometimes they happen in favor of you, but the amount of crying done by Payton and Brees after the NFL championship mucked things up even further (if that were possible) and brought us to the current state of affairs. No one knows what PI is anymore, and the NFL is just going to add more vague parameters to the ruling.

    I’d rather hear from Miko

It’s classified as entertainment for a reason.

  7. Pete I Says:

Every game, every year Zebras make bad calls.

This year has been bad but only bad teams use this excuse as to why they lost.

    24-40 and 98 turnovers

  8. Troy Says:

If anyone doubts that this league is trying to get the Saints into the Superbowl, just watch the games. It’s a makeup year for them from the NFL and it’s disgusting.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There is a very clear pattern of not wanting to overturn the call on the field……I think they are overdoing the “clear and convincing”…….
The example above was a blatant PI infraction…….they may as well not permit challenges if they are going to continually rule this way.

  10. soggy Says:

or else what? fined probably, Just adds more crap to the clown show known as the nfl, I might have to switch to hockey or something this football stuff blows

  11. H8JWLVEBUCS Says:

Making up excuses runs in the family .

  12. DB55 Says:

Dare crossed the goal line on his first attempt. Coach did not challenge. JW gets intercepted instead.

Down by 17 with 2:49 secs left in the fourth. 1 timeout left. Why is coach holding on to the timeout for? Challenge the call!

  13. TampaTown Says:

Christine Arians is straight up gangster! I love her ❤️ I miss Miko so much I would love it if she came back here to comment under her own name.

  14. NPRSageBoy Says:

More like BS runs in the family

  15. Defense Rules Says:

Too many silly calls. Just let the players play. Call the really blatant stuff sure, but stop with the pansy calls. Let em play.

  16. Mike Johnson Says:

Stop it people..Stop it. The ref were not the cause of us getting slaughtered yesterday. The Bucs were the cause. I guess the refs been beating us down for the last 3 ot 4 seasons huh? In the game I watched, Our Offensive line got beat like Congolese drums repeatedly. There were some time the Saints D was in the backfield before our lineman could even get in position to block them. The Saints Defense was..Outstanding..period. So lets see what excuses are coming this Sunday against an improved Falcons team. I’m sure we will come up with a few. Hell, that’s our..Strong point.

  17. Buc believer Says:

Great so now we have an old white Miko Grimes wanna be… shut the hell up!!!!

Here’s a perfect shot of the terrible call against Evans, pre-snap:

    https://twitter.com/Kscan27/status/1196463080298942464/photo/1

The DB was offsides. Contact was within 1 yard of the actual LOS, and they give Evans an OPI call. Then after reviewing, they say the call stands

    WTF?

This is why I won’t spend a single dollar supporting the NFL in any way shape or form. The product is simply garbage, and poor officiating has slowly been deteriorating the quality of play for the last decade.

Every season it literally gets worse and worse.

There was like 3 plays in a row yesterday where the announcers were talking about how badly the refs were screwing up each call. They also mentioned multiple times how generous and incorrect the refs were being with the spots they gave the Saints on multiple plays.

  19. D-Rome Says:

She sounds more reasonable than Buccaneer Bonzai! 🙂

    Unbelievable

Saw the same. My thought was zebras on the take.
, Trying to keep the point spread for the Aints. Betting could be ruining NFL. Starting to think it’s like pro wrestling. SMDH!

  21. Mikadeemss Says:

    Unbelievable

Saw the same BS. Starting to wonder if we’re seeing fixed games due to betting. Trying to preserve the spred. Might start watching pro wrestling again. SMDH

  24. Wesley Says:

    She’s not wrong.

  25. Anonymous Says:

Shut up lady. Your husband is a big part of the problem this team sucks. I don’t give a crap what you think. It’s too bad Bruciepoo doesn’t seem to care what fans thin,.

  26. ElioT Says:

Well Dean could have been called for PI last week and wasn’t. The Bucs won.

Don’t leave it up to the judges.

    This is all so weak.

  27. Anthony Says:

Curious- What is joe going to do with a collection of deleted post screenshots?

  28. Mike Johnson Says:

Better Win Big next year Coach Arians. Buc Fans got plenty of rope left over from Koetter for you and Mr. Bowles there sir! We..They are turning into angry Zombies quicker than this 2 min qrits I got on my stove!

  29. stpetebucsfan Says:

People simply do not go against their own. It’s in all works of life…not just the zebras.

Try to get a police officer to testify against another policeman.

I have quite a few members of my extended family either in or retired from healthcare. All the Docs and Dentists know who the hacks are but they almost never if ever do anything about it when a simple phone call to a State Board might get rid of bad medicine.

But I agree with all who have pointed out the NFL is embarrassing itself. If you’re not going to be honest and wish to cover up as much as possible stop wasting our time with interminable reviews!!!!

  30. CPN Says:

Every week the Bucs get that one call against them. Just tired of it man.

  31. Buccfan37 Says:

Robots could do a better job as the refs have the human element of deceit if needed. Also bad vision four eyed old farts might have money on the outcome. Even the challenge reviews are suspect. Most everything is corrupted one way or another.

  32. BucsFan727 Says:

NFL is a joke. When is the XFL?

  33. Brandon Says:

Not interference and clearly within the 3 yard bump rule AND the ball hadn’t been thrown yet… which is imperative for it to be interference.

  34. JimbobBucsFan Says:

The Saints clearly are a better team than our Bucs.

That doesn’t excuse poor officiating and lack of accountability by the NFL people who oversee the officials.

I’ve seen poor/unfair calls in other games besides ours.

  35. unbelievable Says:

Yup, that was a straight up blown call that they double down on instead of correcting. Seen it quite a few times this year, especially when certain teams are playing…

  36. ClodHopper Says:

It appears the guy in Bruce’s ear that has the perfect verbiage is held unaccountable too. I’ve never seen a coach so bad at reviews. Keeping my the flag in pocket when he could win one and throwing at every PI call. He even said he’s trying to prove a point.

He can do his activism on his own time and quit costing the team because of a spiteful con up his ass!

  37. ou812 Says:

Just like jameis@1of1 Winning the Harts and Minds of the Tampabay fans???

  38. Dre-Day Says:

There goes joeSNITCHfan back in action. Not surprised. Dry-Snitching is still snitching.

  39. Ken G Says:

Having your spouse criticize the officials in your workspace is so unprofessional. When Mrs. Grimes did it, he received a ton of criticism. Well deserved. For the Head Coach of the team to have his son and daughter do this — well that tells me he is not long for this league. These are desperate, classless people who should not be in charge of the team. There are ways to handle poor officiating — roasting officials on Twitter is not one of them.

What is most disappointing about this year isn’t Winston — he;s pretty much the same guy he’s always been. It is that the Arians staff is dreadful on gameday. The most poorly coached Bucs team I’ve seen since Richard Williamson. Schiano was better. Raheem was better. Really a bummer.

  40. Matt B Says:

This season has had the worst officiating I can ever recall. What really sucks is that they can’t even get it right after the review.
