History Made By Brate

November 18th, 2019

Record-holder.

You might say that Bucs tight end O.J. Howard made a behind-the-back pass to fellow tight end Cam Brate.

Howard, who tried to Be Like Mike and make an ankle-breaking behind-the-back pass with a ball thrown by America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, instead helped break the back of the Bucs and allowed New Orleans to jump out to a 20-3 lead yesterday.

Howard was benched after that, it appears, and is currently in Bucco Bruce Arians’ doghouse, per Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times.

Enter Brate, who caught 10 passes for 74 yards.

Brate’s 10 catches tied a Bucs franchise record initially set by Jackie Harris in Green Bay in November 1995.

You see, Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, tight ends can contribute, too. You even have evidence. You yourself called these plays, right?

Hopefully, Brate’s day lets Leftwich know he doesn’t have to force balls constantly to the likes of Scotty Miller, Breshad Perriman and Dare Ogunbowale.

Can we get word on Justin Watson? I could understand if he was inactive but why does he not see the field? it can’t be from preseason drops, that was 3 months ago.

lol, don’t hold your breath Joe.

  3. Snook Says:

Or maybe it’s more proof that Howard is worthless and Brate should be the starter.

Makes me wonder if OJ is the new Rojo this year. Coach don’t like using TE’s and with no confidence OJ has fallen on his face.

Who really gives a rat’s arse? Last I looked the score was still 34-17 and the wretched Buccaneers of Bruce Arians still lost.

Headed to a 4-12 debacle season after which I pray everyone involved is fired right down to the backup janitor.

    Peace, out

Just when you think they make sense they don’t they needed to bench Murphy bunting and put dean in or sit Carlton and put dean in somehow someway they need Dean to get these reps.

  7. AMI_Chris Says:

Yes, I’m starting to worry that my preseason prediction of 5-11 may have been a bit optimistic. In glancing at the remaining 6 games, I’m not sure I see two wins in there. Jax, maybe? I’m thinking 4-12 is more likely.

And by the way, glad Licht took OJ instead of Dalvin Cook.

You throw the ball to Brate and he catches it, seeee?

  9. Jim Says:

Brate was always a solid performer. How he got demoted, I’ll never understand…

  10. Capt. Tim Says:

    Typical Sucs
I keep hearing that OJ Howard has the potential to be a great TE.
    I still havent seen it.
But if Howard suddenly became a great TE,
Then he would finally achieved, what Cameron Brate achieved, 2 years ago.

How stupid do you have to be, to sit a great player, in order to try and develop a great player??

    Buccaneer stupid.

Howard shows the intensity of a mushroom. I think potential is all he will ever have.
Which means we’ll probably trade Brate next year

  11. Conte Piscateli Says:

Can we maybe change it to “future FedEx driver Jameis Winston”?

  12. 2020 What is the bucs future plan? Says:

We should bench Jaymiss develope all young talent and play for the draft.

Lefty and Toilet Bowles are just two more NFL fraternity meat heads that don’t even know the skill set of their own players !!! Think about this , does the avg fan know the skill set of the roster better than Lefty and Todd the Toilet Bowles?
Laugh as you may but Marpets best position is left guard , he next to Smith makes both of them worse and softer !!! Hardgraves took this long ? Scotty Miller May be fast but he isn’t quick and Can Not get a yard after an underneath catch ( doesn’t belong). 3 rd down back is an offensive debacle , RoJo must be coached to stay in ). Barber blocked plenty good for Koetter the king of blocking backs??? JPP isn’t affective right now playing 95 percent of snaps ??? Dotson should hv never been a thought to start at rt tackle ??? Cappa the same??? Edwards playing slot corner??? Seriously ??? Unaware of Brates talent??? Double tight end sets towards your qb s stronger throws ??? Fades are not your qbs strong suited!!! These are Million Dollar Coaches that are just part of a meathead fraternity!!!
I do think Lefty has potential, he just isn’t ready !!! Bowles like Mike Smith May know playbooks but he can’t communicate and is personnel clueless !!! They Both make a bad team worse !!!!

    Isn’t left guard
