Beckles: Perriman Is “Lazy”

November 3rd, 2019

Riffs on Bucs.

The mystery of Breshad Perriman grows.

Perriman, a former first-round pick and a guy that has crazy wheels, has had less of an impact with the Bucs than former misplaced Calgary Stampeder Donteea Dye did. In five games this year, in only one has the Bucs’ No. 3 receiver caught more than one pass. That came in the season-opener against the 49ers when Perriman had two.

This guy Perriman screws up a whole lot more than he helps a team. Dude is a starter and has three catches this season — three!

Perriman has been targeted 16 times.

Aside from his rotten footwork and his hands of stone, what’s the point?

After watching Perriman shat all over the field in Nashville last week, former Bucs guard Ian Beckles is outraged and wonders why the hell Perriman hasn’t been benched.

“Perriman can’t run a route for nuthin!'” Beckles growled on his podcast, “In the Trenches,” as if he just drank bong water. “Perriman runs the laziest routes — I don’t give a rat’s arse how fast you think he is. He runs lazy routes!

“Listen, I am an offensive lineman and I know that when you are running straight down the field and you have a DB head-up on you, the ball is going to be thrown inside. You can’t just throw it over somebody’s shoulder with a defender right on top of you. And the ball was thrown inside. And Perriman kept running straight.

“And if you watch it, Jameis runs up to him like, ‘What the hell are you doing? This is my arse out there.'”

It’s to the point that if the Bucs don’t bench Perriman for Justin Watson or simply don’t cut Perriman, then all this talk about accountability from players is nothing but a sell job and possibly a con job to the Tampa Bay community.

If the Bucs are truly accountable and truly hold players accountable, there is zero excuse for Perriman to be on the field and he probably shouldn’t be on the roster.

(Now don’t get Joe started on Dare Ogunbowale.)

As always, Beckles welcomes feedback and encourages listeners to submit Bucs questions by e-mailing him at IanBeckles@RadioInfluence.com.

Tell it like it is Beckles. I am at a loss as to why we keep throwing it in this guys direction. Can not Howard and Brate, Hudson, Watson, Auclair, Miller, anyone catch better than Perriman?

  3. SickofLosing Says:

Agreed with son of kobe, when will the bucs have a coaching staff that actually uses what the team does well? They need more short and intermediate routes with tight ends over the middle. And for god sakes, please no more runs up the middle on 1st and 10.
    I’M SICK OF LOSING!

The Arians experiment is all smoke and mirrors. It will not end well.

  5. SOEbuc Says:

Guy that was in the bread lines in Cleveland picked up and given our starting #2/slot WR job. WHERE THE F#CK IS WATSON!!!!!! Very pissed at Licht, BA, BL. They have to be planning out a “no trisket, no biscuit” tank to have this guy on the field.

  6. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

    “Not only does Perriman suk

We can get a high compensatory pick if we cut the stiff

    Where is GM Jameis1of1 at?

My Dad doesnt have $18 to buy your book

Cut the stiff and throw to Hudsen

Kobe Faker returns 24 hours 35 minutes”

Just another over paid FA loser Licht brought in. No they won’t cut him. That would mean Licht blew another signing. No why we didn’t trade for a vet corner, or sign one in the off season? First off Licht wouldn’t know a good FA if he saw one, second it would prove that he blew the last two drafts on DB’s who suck. Fire Licht, it’s our only hope.

Perriman is BA’s guy, IMO, …for some reason Justin Watson who has historically had great hands is in BA’s dog house or just one of those guys any particular coach just does not like….there are reasons Perriman became to 31 other teams after being a 1st round pick with blazing speed

  9. Isaac haggins Says:

This is just another case of Licht not being in charge !!! The Man has to be cut , I don’t care if he catches three td today , his play to date in real games CAN NOT be tolerated,,, but it is and that’s why you have a losers mentality!!!! Again even a great owner would step in and say , hey we have to cut this ass clown!! We are building a winner and he can’t be here !!! No how, no way !!!!

  10. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Why oh why didn’t we cut him and claim Gordon!?! I don’t get it?

  11. Coburn Says:

Woops… think autocorrect changed to a swear lol. Was saying aside form a couple weeks of injuries… we have two stud TEs . #3 wr shouldn’t even see field much wit lack of depth behind evans and Godwin. When that position does get called.. Yes Watson at least deserves a go

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

Although I’m not a Perriman fan, Beckles of all people calling out a player for being lazy? I can recall during his playing days with the Bucs..Beckles was..
Beat Like A Drum repeatedly at his position and almost every game.

  13. Defense Rules Says:

Agree, cut him. Poof … $4 mil down the drain. Could’ve had a decent backup OLineman for that. Thanks again Jason.

  14. TampaTown Says:

    Bring back Freddie Martino
