Ex-Bucs tight end Dave Moore played 15 seasons and 7 playoff games
Anyone thinking right now that the Bucs’ highly-paid offensive line delivered a punishing, physical effort today in the blowout loss to the Saints?
Joe can’t go there, though the Saints defensive line is fierce. But today marked two consecutive games in which the Bucs’ O-line got worked over by their New Orleans counterparts.
The wise Xs and Os guru of the Buccaneers Radio Network, ex-Bucs TE Dave Moore, calls it as he sees it, and he knows what he’s looking at after 15 years in the trenches.
After today’s game, Moore was talking about bad body language from the Tampa Bay offensive line, specifically he talked about the way they broke the huddles at times near the goal line.
Another ex-Bucs tight end, John Gilmore, shared his head-shaking takes on the Bucs O-line as well on the team’s postgame network.
For years, Bucs fans were told the team needed a nasty energy to transform the line into what it was when Logan Mankins was on the prowl. J.R. Sweezy, Ryan Jensen and Alex Cappa were all signed, in part, to rub off their nasty streaks on the rest of the line.
It hasn’t worked because the other guys they’re trying to rub off on simply aren’t that nasty. It’s not in their DNA.
No, Joe doesn’t think the O-line is hot garbage. But it’s certainly not impressive.

Because the Saints put an emphasis on drafting lineman in the early rounds. They know how to build a team, and that starts with in trenches.

You could slap Ali Marpet in the face and he would ask you “what’s wrong?”
You could poke Donovan Smith in the eye and only thing that would worry him is how will that affect his bowling at Pinchasers.
Ryan Jensen is the only one who understands what it means to be in the Trenches in the NFL, and unfortunately Ryan Jensen is just one guy who is above average on a good day at best.

Well maybe you could try to pound the ball for sections of the game. This gets your OL attacking rather then calling 60 drop backs which puts your OL on the defensive.
But that’s not their game plan. Yeah well it didn’t work at all and we didn’t even try to mix it up at any point. Dissapoints in the pass blocking and just as disappointed in the game plan today.

But if you listen to the dribble talking points from TJ Reives and Ronnie “Night Train” Lane Of the Buccaneers Rafio Network, they always say we’re only a few plays from winning football. Also they also say “The mistakes the players makes game in and game out are correctable during practice!” The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not win another game during the 2019 NFL Regular Season 🤡❗️

Ali Marpet, Ryan Jensen and Alex Cappa are good enough. Dotson aged out last year. Smith is barely acceptable. Not mean enough.

But let’s be honest…both lines need to be addressed in the off season, since 3 of our best players on the Defensive Line are free agents.

Moore was disgusted with Arians’ crummy offensive play calling. I had it on Bucs radio so I heard it first hand. He had plenty of company!!

I was at the game. The line gave tons of time to throw. Receivers were not open. Routes took too long to develop and receivers are rarely schemed to get open nor is there much diversity in the routes nor do routes end as progressions are made. Usually progression one has the route breaking 1st, then #2, #3, and so forth. It seems all routes end at the same time and if the first progression isn’t there, all remaining receivers then freelance in s scramble drill. I thought West Coast principles had worked their way into every offensive pass play design. Not in Tampa it seems.

It’s ok. Oline is a mess. There’s no future talent in the dline besides vea. Unless We hit the lottery with this draft in every round I don’t see bucs being above average next year.
I mean … a lot of money put in the oline for this garbage performance is acceptable to the head coach and GM then I’m confused.
Coach said … falling behind we abort the running game. I would too knowing I don’t have a oline to open holes and a home run RB.

Ndog, the problem is compounded by Winston being so herky and jerky back there, he is slow when there is no pocket so he can’t escape and he is jumpy and ungraceful when there happens to be a pocket, not to mention the 2 atrocious picks he threw (2 I give him a pass on, pun intended).

And D Smith doesn’t give a chit, cuz he got paid. And when we draft a new shiny QB, he’s gonna get injured after running for his life too, just like Jameis. Hopefully he’ll Be as tough.

Seems how we lose anywho and all our fans are complete know it alls how about we just plug each fan in at QB each week to see what they got. I want to hear their opinions after each game on who we should draft next. Crappy as fans!

So it was u who I quoted that it’s a matter of time before DSmith get Jameis killed. Can someone explain the reason he was signed to elite pay. I have watched second hand DEs beast mode n bully him like he’s a chump. He’s just too soft n passive. He stands over Winston n watches as he’s being slaughtered by DEs. We need nasty Patriots, Packers, Cowboys type OT. DSmith at average is a backup OT.

Because we fell behind so quickly( thanks Jameis), we abandoned the running game.
Offensive linemen can be aggressive in run blocking- and can wear a defensive line down.
In pass blocking- offensive linemen back up, and take the hit from the D-line,
Our line didnt get a chance to beat up the d-line.
Its that simple

The line is avg….they need a QB who is decisive with a quick release. Winston needs more time then most QBs, it’s just not going to work. I still believe there’s a formula that could work but they would have to build a ridiculous line, find a stud workhorse and put together a top ten defense. That’s a lot to pull off with the cap and timeline we have. Licht has shown no ability to develop the roster.

Ali Marpet is having a terrible season. I bet he would tell you that himself. He seems to have good character and takes responsibility at least. I’m tired of people just assuming he’s the guy on the O-Line we should build around.
Speaking of body language, at least once a game after a drive stalls and we come off the field, the TV cameras catch Marpet seemingly apologizing to Jameis or saying my bad.

Two franchise Left Tackles coming out in 2020. Gotta secure one, move Smith to RT, and stop drafting these hit or miss “skill” position players in the first. Build from the inside out. The way we’ve tried hasn’t worked.

Ok, so in looking at the highlights on Youtube its a mixed bag. Some plays the Oline was facing a blitz and gave up a sack.
On the 1st pic – OJ Howard runs a shallow cross and the Pic is really on him
On the 2nd pic- all 4 WRs are running Vertical routes with the throw to the target underthrown by JW. So that was not on the Oline as he had time, just a poor throw. Another forced throw vs just throw it short so it doesnt get picked. The HB stayed in to block on the play.
On the 3rd pic-the HB stays in to block so JW had time to throw. He overthrows Evans to the wrong side and also 3-4 feet too high. That one is again on JW.
On the 4th pic in the red zone-its a quick fade towards the corner its another underthrow to MEvans. Sure hope Arians is not going to blame Evans as this was also on JW.
So 3 out of the 4 pics he had enough time, just poor decisions, poor throws.
We have a QB already at 3000 yds for the season but leads the league with 18 Picks and a QB Rating barely above 80 in a pass happy league. Would you prefer this or a QB like say Derek Carr or only has over 2400 yrds passing but only 5 Picks and a 105.2 rating?

Ali Marpet is overrated. If anyone thinks otherwise, they didn’t watch the game. He was man handled so many times with a simple bull rush. I mean come on.
Ali Marpet is soft as Charmin.
I like Jensen because he plays to the whistle and Alex Cappa cuz he’s tough as nails. That’s about it.
The rest of the OL can be thrown out at the next garage sale.

Our Oline lost the Pride Game. But at least they did not lose the Pride Game alone. They had Helping Hands from Family and Friends. In the rest of their Teammates, That Big family staff of “teaching” coaches, their front office family. And our Friends in our game day NFL officiating crew.
I question myself as a Buccaneer Fan. Where was that Pride fight team wide? Yes there were several Players who showed their Pride in their team and Home field. Because they came to not just play, but to DOMINATE!
Not saying we had many who did, only a very few. This is a professional football game, playing against a Division rival. To me most of the team, looked uninspired, and uninterested, and for the most part undercoached.
The overall look at home against a Division rival and our team was not playing Prideful football. With the biggest coaching staff in the NFL and this is their Prideful results? Are they staying late burning the midnight oil to help create a gameplan, practice plan, training plan? Are they still heading home at 5:30-6? If their work is done. Was this some of their Prideful work?
I watch during the games to see each OC’s plastic play sheet. Has anyone else noticed how our opponent OC’s has many, many, many more plays than our OC’s play sheet. Payton’s had so many more in each individual box, and color coded. Our OC’s had few to less in each box, no color code at all, except grey. Anyone else see this?
My Monday morning walking around downtown Atlanta wearing my Buccaneers hoodie. Yeah my head is still up, shoulders back and I do have that swagger in my step. Buccaneer Pride? Or not enough Coffee yet, to fight back the effects of that Bottle of BlackHeart Rum I drank, watching and after the game.

Donovan Smith, after being ridiculed in the offseason by Cam Jordan, letting Cam come into HIS F’ing house, and taking his lunch money.
Donovan apparently has no pride, and looked like a tub of lard on Sunday. His effort was pathetic.

The play however where Donovan knocked the ball out of Jameis’ hands, was not what it appeared if you watch it again.
He tried to slap Jameis’ shoulder pad, as if to say “my bad”, but he missed and hit the ball out of JW’s hands.
Donovan could not even do THAT right, lol.
