Titans 27, Buccaneers 23

October 27th, 2019

Those juggernaut Titans and their backup quarterback shamed the Buccaneers today and dropped Tampa Bay’s favorite team to a sickly 2-5 record.

Who’s to blame?

There’s plenty to go around.

Hey, Bruce Arians was 4-1 coming off bye weeks in his career. But his very-well-rested Bucs came out looking flat and there were way too many senseless penalties. The Bucs gave away 87 yards on 9 flags, and there were more that were declined.

The Bucs’ running game? What running game?

America’s Quarterback served up two early turnovers way back in his own territory, a fumble and a pick. Tennessee scored touchdowns on each gift. Jameis completed less than 50 percent of his passes but he did have a great day scrambling.

Donovan Smith? Man, he picked the wrong time to get beat badly, letting Harold Landry III get past him for the costly fourth-quarter strip of Jameis.

Carlton Davis? He allowed two touchdowns in coverage and gobbled up back-to-back pass interference calls on a late drive by Tennessee.

The Bucs defense was ok, but the run defense showed rare cracks today, and when you allow Ryan Tannehill three touchdowns and no turnovers, it’s definitely not your best day.

Ahh, the stink of NFL Draft talk in October. Welcome to Bucs football.

Ndog said he had only one bad throw the whole game.
Jameis almighty said he looked good

Can you guess where they went to college

Thanks for the Moderation on game day thread… saved me a ton of wasted energy and frustration…. 9 more games for Jamyth.. although his apologists will never die

  5. MatthewPlus Says:

Coaching was atrocious. What a h*cking joke of a game. TN had one good drive the whole game.

    It’s a Bucs life.

Honestly, I don’t know why I’m such a glutton for this punishment.

  6. MadMax Says:

That last INT, that sealed it…..but it shouldve been sealed last year….we couldve drafted daniel jones!

  7. EA Says:

Joe the most important thing is that the bucs have the largest and most diverse coaching staff in the NFL, as for wins and losses….nobody cares about that in this day and age.

  8. JimmyJack Says:

Just got done watching the Titans cheat to beat us. Somebody cheated today.

I just saw the Bucs get to a 3-4 record. And win 30-23. Don’t care what the record books state. We beat the Titans today. That’s what I know cause I saw it happen.

  9. TJ Tillman Says:

I lube in Ohio I haven’t missed a game in ten years but after today I’m done until we get rid of Jason Licht. Sorry Joe but it looks like we hired BA pass his prime, the game has pass him by. I will not renew my SundayTicket.

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

You are..what your record says you are. And out record says.. We Suck.

  11. Bucnjim Says:

The SHAM is you guys continue to support a QB (America’s QB) that set us back 14 points.

  12. ManzielMadness Says:

Talk about inconsistency. Did Arians and Byron Leftwich forget that Evans had around 200 yds receiving? Why wasn’t he targeted as much in the 4th quarter? Good game by the DLine, seems like we dominated TOP, but those turnovers…. killers… 6-10 here we come…

  13. Matt B Says:

Why isn’t anybody talking about the scoop & score the refs took away from us with the quick whistle on the fake field goal! Damn it!

  14. MadMax Says:

Bird, i’ll admit, i missed the 3rd quarter, had to make a beer and food run.

And the Jensen crap was not on JW, no.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

    Good job Bucs. Great Win!!!

  16. Fire Goodell Says:

    2-14

  17. cmurda Says:

Tampa Bay’s favorite team? LOL. That would be the Lightning. I saw them play Pittsburgh a few nights ago. Very few Pitt fans. The place was absolutely packed. Oh, and they win a bunch of games. I want the Bucs to be the favorite team but its pure trash they put on the field every single year

  18. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Mariota had a better game than Jameis

  19. D-Rome Says:

Season is over. This is not a Reload. This is a rebuild and I will not be surprised if Bruce Arians and his staff is not here next year.

  20. Ndog Says:

America’s Quarterback served up two early turnovers way back in his own territory, a fumble and a pick.

Did you even watch the game? This is completely false.

  21. Wesley Says:

    Season is officially over.

  22. Chuckstutz Says:

A dumb ass football team. The plays again to Perriman and obgalele in the red zone. Drops, falls two of the best receivers in the league and we thorough to these guys? Play calling sucks. What a disappointment.

  23. Bucnjim Says:

Remember the post where I said we had a 23% chance of winning after the 14 point turnover by the offense?

  24. Nick Says:

These coaches are terrible. We took the lead for the first time and instantly went into shell mode. Defense instantly played soft cover 2 and let them march the entire field twice. Winston had finally showed some rhythm, so these dumbasses run our terrible running backs over and over…punt. Then when they give up the lead again, they think they can just turn Winston on again… he’s not that good. I’m tired of watching these guys.

  25. Buccfan37 Says:

On the 4th down stop of the Titans near the end wasn’t that a fumble return for a TD by the Bucs? No challenge? Also on the challenge of Arians didn’t the intended receiver do a fake flop? The refs seemed to be in the home teams pocket especially in the 2nd half.

  26. 813bucboi Says:

    Defense came to play….

    JW still can’t beat a backup QB….

    GO BUCS

  27. SJ_Bucsfan Says:

    Goodbye Jay-miss!

  28. TampaTown Says:

I’m so Fn over this bullspit. I can’t take anymore

  29. Leighroy Says:

The scoop and score matters, bc how in the world refs are still blowing these plays dead is insane! But it’s also meaningless.

That would have been a gift that saved an absolute garbage performance. This team resembles the 80’s creamsicle keystone cops, and I’ve had enough.

  30. Nano107 Says:

    Byron needs to go
    Devin white caused a fumble
    4th and 1 Barber???
    He sucks too
    D played their ass off
    Bucolic Bruce cut Permian
Fire your OC WINSTON LOOKS LOST DUDE

  31. From76 Says:

Man glad I took the grandchild to Busch gardens. I am so tired of watching Winston and his turnovers. This team just has no chance with consistent play with Winston. Do you really see them going to a playoff with him???

  32. Dark Mominick Says:

blatant missed call by refs ruined this games credibility.

  33. Dark Mominick Says:

Blatant missed call by refs totally ruined this games credibility.

  34. Pelbuc61 Says:

Bucs hired BA and got Leftwich the play caller. Bucs broke the bank for Donovan Smith and you saw his effort today. Bucs gave Licht a five yr extension and you saw his picks crap all over the field. As far as being sellers before the trade deadline, Bucs will never get better as long as Licht and JW are here. This team sure knows how to lose.

  35. Chesapeake Bucco Says:

with this season “over” for many of you, I guess we won’t be hearing from you on this board anymore? GOOD! We could easily be 5-2 right now but first season under new coach, who has had little chance to bring in his own players, some stuff is going to happen. HC BA has 2 NFL HCOY awards and 2 Super Bowl rings as an assistant to for a reason…give it time….or go get another team or find another sport, now that the season is “over” for you all…..good riddance!

  36. Rayjay1122 Says:

Joe, I think Tampa Bay’s favorite team is the Vipers now. Time to prepare Joe Vipers fan.

  37. Defense Rules Says:

Today’s game was probably the most frustrating game I can remember seeing in a long, long time. The Titans begged us to take that game, but a handful of players, and our coaching staff, absolutely refused to deny the Titans.

Winston looked absolutely frazzled out there more times than not. Barber had no business even being in the game. Neither did Perriman, Miller or VHIII. Carlton Davis made some awesome plays, but he’s starting to look like the defense’s twin to Winston. Good Carlton, Bad Carlton.

Some of the offensive play-calls were brilliant. More, however, were horrendous. Why in heaven’s name would you ever throw deep to Perriman or Miller 5 times when BETWEEN THEM they’ve only caught 6 out of 27 passes this season? And yes, today they caught ZERO between them.

Still, the story of the game is TURNOVERS, once again. A continuing saga over 5 years now. Disgusting.

  38. Wesley Says:

Tampa Bays favorite team ain’t the Bucs Joe.

  39. Sydney Says:

    3-13

  40. down in the dirt doug Says:

Love you guys Joe,but Jameis is not close to being finished as a Buc–he is totally finished—check mate Jameis—YOU ARE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. JimmyJack Says:

NFL football is a joke. This game today was glorified wrestling with blatent cheating being allowed and accepted.

I used to love watching NFL football all day Sunday but not a ymore with the way the game is played today.

I do not accept the results of this game. I consider it a a Bucs win since we literally scored a TD. I don’t care which wierd rule is in ace to be able to overturn that play but that is a TD on any football field in America. We scored 30 points. Tennessee had 27. BUCS WIN!!!

  42. orlbucfan Says:

Now, this loss points right at ownership. These players did NOT deserve this loss. I won’t even start with the ‘ref’ mistakes. A QB gives away 14 points. His Backup doesn’t relieve him? Why? Winston played like he was choked off. Where were the option runs and 2-minute type drills??????? The great players need to go on strike. BA needs to get lost cos he called one super-lousy game on offense!!! I call him: BS!!

  43. Oneilbucs Says:

Man I don’t want to here nothing about Jamies. Both fumbles was not his fault. Interception looked like a miss communication. The real problem is we can’t or we don’t run the ball. Jamies led the team in rushing. Devin White is another bad pick or he is still injured . But Jamies will get the blame but when are you people going to realize that you have to be able to run the ball. All the teams that are wining can run the ball. We have to be balanced but we will be drafting another quarterback and we are still going to suck he is not going to help us win games if we don’t run the ball. Payton Barber is trash I’m done with BA he’s nothing but another Dirk Kotter. I say get rid of him and Leftwich. We had the ball in the endzone 3 times and couldn’t score why ??? Cause we can’t run the ball or they don’t want to run the ball.

  44. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Your a dumb ass Bucco! Pull your head out of your ass idiot

  45. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

BA is a walking heart attack. Jay Miss is a LOSER. The GM is the worst GM in all of professional sports. How could this sorry azz team be in salary cap hell?

  46. Pelbuc61 Says:

BA is Lovie 2.0. Leftwich is learning on the job and is not good. Perriman is useless and as long as JW is Bucs QB, they should start every game down by 14 points. Sadly, Licht has been learning on the job for 5 yrs and is making Dominik look like a genius. Glazers, please sell or relocate this excrement!

  47. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

To be fair, Carlton Davis mostly had a great game. One of those TDs was almost a pick.

  48. Bucfan1988 Says:

I’ve been a fan for 31 years and I am soooooo sick & tired of this fluckin’ joke of a team that we see on the field.

We change coaches, players, tactics, and it’s the same continuous sess-pool of crap that we fans watch every week.

The problem is it is a virus called HEAD-IN-ASS…
It’s jump from one player to another CONSTANTLY throughout the game.
You can’t fix it because it’s not just one player. It affects EVERY player at different times. It is truly a virus, I swear….NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT.

You can replace coaches, trade players, get rid of GM’s, but IT DOESNT MATTER!!!

And one last gripe….Leftwich flat out SUCKS as an OC.
When a fan like me, WHO HAS NEVER PLAYED FOOTBALL BEFORE, can watch that 4th & 1 at the end of the game and call out the EXACT play before the Offense evens lines up, it’s a comical JOKE of play calling. I made the comment if they moronically for that, then it will get blown up!!
Imagine my eyes when your clown of an OC calls that ridiculous play…

WHAT A FREAKEN ABISMAL DARK HOLE WE ALL ARE TRAPPED IN AS BUCS FANS!!!

  49. tgregs Says:

Where do you get the idea this Lame-Ass led team is Tampa Bay’s favorite?

  50. Sharthappens Says:

Bench the retard. 4 turnovers and another two that should have been. He is responsible for 14 of the Titans points. I can’t wait to hear his press conference:”I jus gotsa git betor”. You can’t teach dumb to be smart

  51. Sauron's eye Says:

JW is not a winner at this level. How much more proof does anyone nned.

  52. JimmyJack Says:

Carlton had 2 INTS called back. Three times they called them back on three separate rules. I saw two of the three pentalties and Niether is a pentalty on any football field in America. At any level(High School, College, PeeWee).

Those were not pentalties. That was cheating. I didn’t see the third. Then on our very next drive they took away a positive play for us on a pentalty. I didn’t see the pentalty but I’m pretty sure that was more cheating.

  53. Oneilbucs Says:

The 49ers is killing the Panthers. Why every body keep talking quarterback the 49ers are talking defense and running game and they are killing everybody. I keep telling you none football knowing fan base that the quarterback position is over rated. My proof is the 49ers!!!!

  54. Bucfan1988 Says:

    One more gripe…
The officiating in this game was ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC…
    1) 2 Carlton Davis pics called back for PI – one of them the TE took a flop and it was so obviously to fans, and the refs still didn’t fix it.
    2) Devin White caused a fumble on the fake punt and #39 took it to the house. Refs say he was down??? UMMM, HELL NO HE WASNT!!! Refs blew the whistle, WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO DO ANYMORE, and let the play finish out. Took 7 points off the board for us!!!

The crap-show of officials helping the opposing team continues….

    ———————————–
There’s no way a NFL team can win a game when they give away 14pts in turnovers in the 1st quarter. Even if you’re the Belicheats. Bucs almost pulled it off in spite of refs, stupid offense game planning by BA, and qb. Now, the team who has had the HARDEST road game schedule in the NFL still doesn’t get a home break. They fly out to Seattle for the final road game in a road schedule that Kraft and Belicheat would shut down the league over if they had to play it. As far as this fan is concerned, the Bucs won this game. The players will beat Seattle next week just like they did a few years back under Glennon and whoever was head coach.

  56. Oneilbucs Says:

Orlbucfan I agree with the 2 turnovers for 14 points. But we came back and took the lead of the game. If we could run the ball that would have closed the game out . Every body keep talking they don’t trust Jamies . I guess the 49ers don’t trust Jimmy G are it could be that they don’t care about a quarterback throwing for 400 yards they play to win the game. How come every body on this site can’t agree with building the defense and a running game and just win games regardless who the quarterback is. I don’t care about Jamies are any other quarterback on the team. A quarterback don’t win championships but a defense does. Man again look at the 49ers. That’s the kind of team I rather have then any quarterback in the draft

  57. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

I carved pumpkins with my kids, got some well needed chores done, took a nap and rode bikes in Central Park then came home caught the strip sack and put a movie in. Tuning this team out until they are on the right track

  58. Aaron Says:

I’m sick and tired of caring – it never changes. Doesn’t matter who the QB or coach is…not even fun to look forward to the draft because we F that up too.

We always have an excuse for our loses…center snapped the ball to early…bad PI was called…fumbled TD was called back…week F’n 8 and after a bye week…we snap the ball before the QB is ready plus have the motion man run into the RB inside the 5yrd line….

Our coaches still think barber is better than Jones. 4th and 2 – everyone on Tampa would have said – run up the middle with Barber wont make it.

    again – sick and tired

  59. Ed Says:

“Ifs, Should’av, Could’av” are for losers. You play 60 minutes. The Bucs had plenty of offensive possesions in the second half that had they made a few drives instead of turning it over to the Titans they probably win that game. As far as Winston, there is no chance in hell with his 5 year record as a Bucs QB and the league leader in turnovers that he gets paid starter money next year. Michael Strahan said it at halftime, “he’s an up and down quarterback”. My money is that he will still be in the NFL but as a backup. The Bucs need to get any quarterback that can be accurate, get rid of the ball and knows how to read a defense. You cannot hold on to the ball, take sacks and lock in to receivers in this league. You cannot take as long to survey the field as our QB has. 5 years of developing what?

  60. Bucs Fan 1998 - 2019 Says:

Today felt really good: I finally let myself stop being a Bucs fan. Gave it a good 21 years, had some fun, held season tickets for awhile, but life offers too many pleasures to keep spending three hours each Sunday watching this team lose, or spending half the year counting down to the draft, or digging into next year’s head coaching candidates.

    What’s the point?

Evans, David, Marpet, and Godwin… godspeed to you. You were studs and I hope you guys land on other teams in short time – really any of the 31 others should allow you to truly shine.

Rays and Bolts, thank you for rewarding your fans with teams we can all be proud of.

Excited for all the new activities to explore, books to read,, and friends to visit now that I’m rid of this disappointing, dispiriting, boring timesuck.

    See ya!

  61. Buczilla Says:

Blow it all up and start again. Again. Miserable season.

  62. bucnole Says:

quit saying we got cheated. . . from what I saw most if not all the calls were correct.
we turned the ball over, didn’t block well when it mattered, too many Effin penalties and BAD play calling
WITF were we targeting Perriman – the kid is fast but he sucks
U r what your record says you are

  63. JimmyJack Says:

Bucnole you would be wrong. It’s all on film too. We were cheated several times on big huge game changing plays. The refs quite literally took a TD away from us for no sensible reason. It’s the 2nd time this year too that has happened…….makes ya think.

Great game by the Bucs. That was winning football today. Proud of my team!!

    GO BUCS!

That play where Perriman crashed into Barber was perfectly symbolic of the Buccaneers franchise. A microcosm of misery.
