International Embarrassment

October 13th, 2019

Nationally televised game. Division on the line. Respectability in the balance. Contract year. Familiar opponent.

And America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, crapped the bed in England today.

Bad decisions. Bad composure. Bad start. Bad Jameis.

It’s the second major clunker by Jameis in six tries this season. And he wasn’t on his game last week.

Jameis is a fifth-year starter and he should look better and more confident. Simple as that. The fumbles, two of them today, drive Joe nuts. And two of his four interceptions were clear errors in his own territory to open each half. Another wasn’t his fault, while the fourth was. And Joe is too numb to care about No. 5.

Throw in a running game that scares no one, an inconsistent offensive line and a sour defense — plus Mike Evans dropping a gorgeous deep ball today — and it’s a terrible combination for the franchise quarterback, who might have a new franchise next season unless he can come on very strong in the final 10 games.

A few times during today’s loss to the Panthers, Hall of Fame QB Kurt Warner, a friend of Jameis, prefaced his Jameis analysis with “I can’t figure out.”

Joe can’t figure it out, either.

    Season over.

  2. Get a clue Says:

    “England’s quarterback” Kyle Allen

  3. Rob Says:

All this and the undrafted kid looked calm and unstoppable. The rest of the team was bad too, but Winston was awful. This franchise is cursed.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Joe’s “America’s QB”…..no one else’s……

  5. Bye week blues Says:

    Correction: America’s Embarrassment Jameis Winston

  6. Wesley Says:

The whole team and coach’s sucked.

  7. Rayjay1122 Says:

You forgot to mention awful punt return unit also.

  8. WeeManOfScots Says:

One poster had “Americas Quarterback” and I about died..lol..

  9. JL Says:

I bet NDOG is spooning with his JW sex doll right now!

  10. Ndog Says:

I can figure it out, when you have zero protection, your best WR never works back to the ball, you have zero running game and your starting TE can’t catch it makes it kinda hard to play QB. Was Jameis great today no but the entire team sucked and oh yeah Bobo is HORRIBLE.

  11. SteveK Says:

    Inexcusable.

    Outclassed by Kyle Allen.

If the ScuttleBucs fail hold Jameis accountable, then I hope Joe sets the record straight.

    Awful day.

  12. 813bucboi Says:

    Funny…..

    No DB55

    LOL….

    JW is a bust…..

    but yeah….blame VHG…LOL…

    GO BUCS

  13. donuts Says:

20 points on the turnovers from Winston today. Telling stat.

  14. 813bucboi Says:

JW got outplayed by another backup QB….

    GO BUCS

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Wesley…..No it isn’t. Only if you quit. Thicken up.

  16. Ndog Says:

So no time, no run game, multiple drops and despite the QB is supposed overcome everything. Got it

  17. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Here come the hords of FSU homers to defend him. Dude could turn it over 12 times and they would still say he is good.

  18. Bucs_Fan_Orlando Says:

    4 ints and 7 sacsk.

    Totally America’s probowler…..

Joe when will you stop trolling your readers and be honest with us? JW has not progressed he’s regressed

    This isn’t playoff QB play.

This isn’t 5th year starter QB play.

    This isn’t franshice QB play.

You have always said you can’t win with the forth best QB in the division. Well JW has now been outplayed by the backup for the Saints and the Panthers. That makes him the 6th best QB in the division. Let’s just hope he doesn’t face Atlanta backup Matt Schaub this season

    This is embarrassing.

Trade him. But I bet you would say no one would trade anything worth anything for him, and if that’s true why would you give him a contract?

  19. SteveK Says:

    Number one overall pick

    Year 5

    Still has god awful inconsistency.

    No second contract.

No chance for wins or playoffs.

If Jameis is still fourth best QB in a division of backups, does that make him 6th best in the division?

It’s maddening that he can be player of the week and the Ryan Leaf.

  20. Defense Rules Says:

Embarrassment is THE only appropriate description for the sh_t show the Bucs put on today in London. Our defense played tough all afternoon and will get tagged with all the points, but it was the SIX turnovers by the offense & S/Ts that are really the culprit in this loss. Three things are clear to me right now:
1 – Our OLine is abysmal.
2 – Jameis is NOT the future … much too INCONSISTENT.
3 – Byron Leftwich is in Way over his head.

And oh ya, need to add a 4th: FIRE LICHT, the architect of this hot mess.

  21. Ndog Says:

    MIKE EVANS IS TRASH!

  22. Bird Says:

    Ndog is trash

  23. Hodad Says:

If you haven’t seen enough of Winston to know he’s not the answer, you never will. He started with a pick, ended with a pick, had some fumbles, and picks in between. Mean while the undrafted QB had no picks, no fumbles. He wasn’t special, didn’t have to be. Just sit back, and watch our spastic QB go to work. You wanted to trade our first round pick for Patrick Peterson? Better use it to draft a QB. You can try to make the whole team better around him, or you can change the look of your team by getting rid of him.

  24. Ndog Says:

    Fu$k you Bird!

  25. theodore Says:

Bad QBs don’t throw for 400 yards. Resign!

  26. Curse of Gruden Says:

No, JW is horrible, and he’s the expensive piece of the crappy team.

  27. SteveK Says:

    Pick 5!

    Ha!

    Dayyyyyyum!

  28. Carrollwood Mafia Says:

Don’t sell JW short. It was 5 interceptions today

  29. Mitch Says:

I think as many mistakes as he did today I think Mike Evans played terribly and cost us 2 TD’s at least

  30. JimmyJack Says:

I counted 9 mistakes made by Winsot today that directly cost us points…….Despite poor play around Winston a pro QB has to find a way to limit them mistakes. Not possible to win when your QB makes that many mistakes……and I wait counting the mistakes Midway through the 3rd.

Two of Winston’s worst day as a pro have prevented us from winning 2 of 6 games this year.

A better QB finds a way to limit those mistakes and gives us a chance at victory in both games. A better QB wins one of them and has this team at 3-3 right now.

  31. Jeffbuc Says:

Can we please for us fans sake please just bench him and see what griffin has what can it hurt at this point. 5 interceptions two fumbles for an nfl qb is embarrassing

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Sigh.

Is the RG4 era about to begin?

  33. Ludicrous Speed Says:

5 Ints & 2 Fumbles. But with the right coaching he could become AMERICA’S QUARTERBACK, right? Oh, that’s right, you said he already IS America’s quarterback.

  34. Who Cares Says:

Ndog is trash. Ignorant of football. Always crying about Jaemis victimhood. Sounds familiar.

  35. Arealbucsfan Says:

Jesus 813. Really!?! Hargreaves doesn’t suck? He’s terrible Winston played terrible also. Idgaf about college ball so I’m not blinded buy being any type of homer. This team sucked at all phases.

  36. JWBUCS Says:

Jamies is nothing more than an American Embarrassment…. The most inconsistent Quarter Back in NFL History…

  37. Pete I Says:

Career high NDOG specials from Winston, we shan’t call them interceptions since they weren’t Winston’s fault.

America’s QB?, well that is what Europeans and Brits think of Americans…Winston was the classic ugly American

  38. BucsFan76 Says:

You can’t have a qb that lays an egg in a 1/3rd of your games. It’s losing 5 games right off the top. Nope.

  39. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    #TIMETOMOVEONFROMJAMEIS

  40. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Not making any excuses, but it won’t get better no matter who is QB. OL injuries make it impossible.

Lots of turnovers…but lots of sacks too.

  41. DooshLaRue Says:

You hated JW in real time today ndog.
Now you’ve got your excuses lined up.
    You are one sad dude.

  42. DB55 Says:

Present and accounted for. Woke up in the middle of the third. Why he throw to Scotty Miller so much? Dude 6 sacks in the first half I wouldn’t even bother coming out for the second but wtfdik

  43. Bird Says:

    Ndog

    Hahaha

Little girl getting mad. You have called everyone a name for criticizing Jameis
    Dude. You look horrible
It’s obvious which Jameis shows up for a game in the first quarter

And by the way …he will win again and you will be right back at it

  44. DooshLaRue Says:

Still confident Jaboo gets 11 more starts?

  45. Pete I Says:

NDOG is not trash, he is ignorant.

Wow, you saw Joe at the game, huh?

  49. D-Rome Says:

Where are all the fools who thought this was a playoff team?

Jay-Miss is not the future. Simple as that. He should have been benched today. Franchise QBs play at a high level consistently. Jay-Miss is consistently inconsistent.

Time to move on from Jay-Miss.

  50. Pete I Says:

Well we know you are an idiot DB55 and would resign with this team. This team deserves you and NDOG.

  51. 123urout Says:

Feels like the Bucs thought they are going to tour the Buckingham palace and did not prepare for the game. What a pathetic team!

  52. Greg Says:

JL Comment is hilarious and absolutely true. Even the Florida State fans have to see that if Winston is not the problem he definitely is not the answer. We can’t afford to spend 30 million on a below average quarterback and not address the rest of the team needs

  53. adam from ny Says:

this is what happens when you feed a bunch of guys ambien, melatonin and sleeping pills all week…

you get a bunch of not twiched up sleepwalking zombies, adjusting their keesters in dancer tights

  54. SteelStudBuc Says:

    Griffin next game please.
    What can u lose?
    Winston, no thanks.
I want hope, not booze to cope.
Keep Winston in and get a high draft pick.
    Maybe top 5.

  55. Elita Vita Says:

Where to go to from here? So embarrassing. Wanted something to feel happy about watching the game today….The happy feeling never arrived. Looks bad for Jameis I’m afraid. Shaking my head about Licht as well. We picked up O.J. Howard instead of our wish for a high level running back. Seems like he might want out too. What to do? What to do?…..(sigh)

  56. Patrickbucs Says:

You might want to watch the first half and not just see 6 sacks as a stat and make uninformed comments as usual. Mostly all on him and McCoy was on a mission today. But was does Mooch and Kurt Warner know? Held the ball for 7-8 seconds in second of a back to back fumble.

Evans was bad, Bobo should never return a punt again, time to play some other corners as well.

  57. Bucs14 Says:

How hard would it be for the Bucs to start Ryan Griffin? At this point in the season we are done. Heck, we even beat Koetter’s prediction last season of being done by Halloween. But, as we all know, America’s Turnover Machine and Licht are tied together. Licht drafted the bum and Licht’s career rests on Winston. Sucks to be Licht.

C,mon Bucs give Griffin a chance.

  58. Survey says: Says:

At the Start of the game Winston had 84 Turnovers since 2015. Now he’s over 90!!!! Hell Blake Bortles has 14 less and he’ll never see the field again.

  59. Oneilbucs Says:

NDOG don’t waste your time with these people. I don’t expect a quarterback to have a good game every game. He played good 4 games in a row and we still lost . The Panthers quarterback know that he don’t have to win the game in his own. Jamies do regardless how good he plays if we lose it’s his fault. Look at the Gaints game they blame him for the lost. RoJo should be the starter. I don’t understand this running back by committee it don’t work it have never worked for us . We need to focus on the defense and offensive line and this year draft. The Panthers quarterback has a running back that can take over a game we don’t he has a defense that gives him back the ball so going 3 and out is not that big of a deal for the Panthers cause of their defense. But Jamies needs to start running the ball when no one is open.

  60. Bobby M. Says:

Winston has more turnovers then every player in the league since joining……that’s not an accident, its not the defense’s fault or kicker’s fault…..the dude just isnt good enough. He’s literally Vinny 2.0 or Cutler 2.0….talented enough to give you flashes but he just cant put it together for weeks at a time to ever push a team to the point of contending consistently. The only chance you make him work is on a bargain contract of $15 million per year and stack up the defense/run game…..Then he might get the job done but there’s an element within the locker room that might be souring on Winston in general. Its a business though and he’ll play out the season…..probably give you a really good run once we are completely out of the playoff hunt, but the verdict should be out by now. He’s just not going to be much more then what we’ve already seen.

  61. Bosch Says:

Time to bench Winston, then completely move on from him after the season.

  62. SteveK Says:

    I don’t expect a QB to
    Have a good
Game every game, but they can’t be that damn bad. It’s bad. Can’t win with that bad.

  63. Bucsfan951 Says:

There’s Ndoggy with the excuses again for Winston. You are one loyal dude!

  64. NYC Bucs Says:

    5 INT’s!! That’s hard to do!!

  65. DB55 Says:

When is the last time a qb won a game after being sacked 6 times in the first half? I’ll wait……

  66. Bucsfan951 Says:

Db55. When was the last time a team won when their qb turned the ball over 6 times? I’ll wait…

  67. Riggz Says:

Wow the ultimate Jameis defender actually isn’t biased for once. Yup this is who Loseston is…erratic…inconsistent…undependable. Can’t really play any worse than that

BAN THESE TROLLS!!! Enough is enough…these posters are hot garbage like their idol Winston. Team over player. You two need to find another team ASAP. I’m tired of reading your trash on here. Everyone, let’s chase these jokers off. We don’t need Winston knob slobberers on here. GTFO!

  69. Bucofama Says:

    When’s the last time a QB won with 5 interceptions? I’ll wait……

  70. Bucsfan951 Says:

Winston got sacked 7 times but had 6 turnovers… 6!!! But let’s bring up the sacks. Not to sweep the sacks under the rug because 7 is outrageous but don’t sweep the 6 turnovers under the rug. Stop making Winston the victim every single time.

  71. Bucsfan951 Says:

There are 2 posters on here that their sons could be total screw ups and pos in life and they’ll defend them and make it as if they are the victims.

  72. JimmyJack Says:

Them two fumbles at the 2 minute warning before the half were unforgivable.

That was a point in the game where our offense finally started to get a little rythum and started to drive the ball.

That was our chance to take momentum from the game and Winston could not handle the situation. He coughed up the ball on consecutive plays & that was the turning point of the game……..Then for some crazy reason we somehow had a chance to win back momentum and Evans prooved once again that he may be a very good player but cannot handle clutch moments. He never finds a way to make a play when it is a huge moment in the game…….I defy anybody here to show me one clutch moment he has given us. It’s never happened and I can rattle off several key moments of games over the years where he choked in extremely critical moments.

Yet you can win despite a bad WR performance……..When your QB makes mistakes is is extremely difficult to win games.

  73. Same ol’ BUCS Says:

TRADE NO FOOTWORK JAMEIS BEFORE THE TRADE DEADLINE to the Steelers get rid of Winston. This is his 5th year and still inconsistent, if he hasn’t gotten it already he never will . Case closed on Winston .

  74. Oneilbucs Says:

I think it’s time for Jamies to leave this trash franchise. The kid won at every level but when he came here he became a loser. Why do you think that ? Cause this team is trash that’s why. They draft bad and they have lost their identity which is defense defense defense and more importantly defense!!! That’s who the bucs are and we have left that mindset cause every body and this franchise cares about what the national media tell them about the quarterback position. But in the same breath they will tell you that defense wins championships. We been chasing every other team with this quarterback junk and right now the 49ers is wining with the old bucs formula . That is running the ball and playing good defense. Go bucs!!

  75. DB55 Says:

    Trex

    You don’t want this smoke.

You people are a bunch of fkn idiots. Any QBs who gets sacked and pressured like JW will have turnovers. Typically you turn to your run game but you ain’t got no run game bc again your oline sucks. How stupid can you be? Oh never mind forgot I’m talking to southerners. My bad.

  76. JimmyJack Says:

At this point in time anybody excusing Winston’s poor game today just don’t care about winning.

I’m a big Winston fan and am wearing #3 while typing this. I will not give up on him after this pathetic performance today but my confidence is shattered in this guy……..I have no trust that he can play consistently good football.

He could have made less mistakes today and still not win the game and it would be a different story……But he repeatly made mistake after mistake and never gave us a chance.

If you add up how many points it cost us today it is unacceptable.

Winston could have found a way to make less mistakes today and let the defense try and take control……Or maybe Special teams could make a difference.

But he gave the entire team no chance with awful QBing and awful decisions…….Despite the poor play around him Winston himself does not have to be such a large factor to losing. He has almost no poise or composure as a pro QB. He only wants to try and win games based on talent and when poise and compusre are needed he has let the team down each and every time during his entire career.

  77. JimmyJack Says:

DB55…….Blaming the OL is fair. And yes it will cause turnovers.

The amount of turnovers is unforgivable……All of them INTs will be directed and some will be discovered to be awful QB plays……For me the 2 fumbles before the half are what separate Winston from a consistent winning QB……… Feel free to justify them of ya want but you will be wrong. They were just bad football.

By southerners , DB5s meant white people

  81. Oneilbucs Says:

Jamies played bad I can agree with everyone on here on that. But Brady played bad and they still won cause of their defense even though he didn’t have a turnover but 1 . But drafting another quarterback in the first round ain’t going to change this team. The only thing I know if we do we ain’t going anywhere next year. So build the team first make the quarterback position the last piece. Ain’t no use of bring in a rookie quarterback with no team and espect him to put the hold team on his back cause no quarterback can do that he can put up some good stats and we will still lose.

  82. BucsBandit Says:

    #WHERESMYEFFINAPOLOGY?

So many of you Jameis homers have talked so much smack to me during the past 12+ months when I’ve been telling you over and over that Jameis Winston is NOT a good NFL QB. You people called me names, said I was dumb, said I didn’t know what I was talking about… yet here we are… the PROOF… once again.. that Winston is NOT a good NFL QB.

To be considered a good NFL QB you have to be at least some what consistent. But more than anything, you can’t turn the ball over so much. Turning the ball over is the #1 worst thing a QB can do. It’s like scoring for the other team, often giving them a short field to work with and momentum.

Jameis Winston is the KING of turnovers. It doesn’t matter if he throws for a million yards. When you give the other team points and you don’t protect the ball on a consistent basis, you are a MATHEMATICAL LIABILITY. It’s like starting every game of chess by taking your queen off the board as the first move. You just can’t be expected to win no matter how good you play. These are 100% INDISPUTABLE FACTS.

NDog, DB55, Oneilbucs, and so many others on this site are classic cases of the DUNNING-KRUGER EFFECT.

  83. Aubpierce Says:

How many games has James been the difference compared to how many games he has lost. That’s all we need to know. We know he is to emotional, to slow in his delivery, Likes to throw interceptions, fumbles, and take sacks. Which means he is dumb as dirt. Mike Evans and Howard didn’t do James any favors with their cement hands. We need a QB who gets rid of the ball quickly and is not emotional. Sad part is we just might have one sitting on the bench. Give him a shot.

  84. firethecannons Says:

Jeffbuc is right they bench cam newton(he is done with the fork already in) and yet we play Jameis. We should play Griff but reality is this:we must play Jameis and evaluate this guy so we can move on–why we need to spend more time on this makes no sense, lets trade Winston now if even remotely possible and prepare for quarterback next year, sell some other parts of the team too. We will need new QB and new right tackle.

  85. OnebucHater Says:

I pray Jameis will QB the team for another 20 years. I love watching buc fan cry, week after week, year after year. Here’s to Decades more.

  86. BucsBandit Says:

DB55, stop making excuses for Winston like you love to do. You cherry-pick counter-data to try and somehow dispute things he actually did wrong.

NEWSFLASH: The Panthers only had a total of 59 rushing yards for their entire team. So they had no running game either today. But why didn’t their QB turn it over like crazy like Winston did? OH I KNOW… because Winston was sacked so much right? Winston has like 1 turnover for every time he was sacked. LOL. So that doesn’t hold water.

  87. JimmyJack Says:

Bandit…….What a petty post you made.

Good fans of this team are here to vent. You came for other reason obvisously. You deserve nothing from any good fan of this team.

Come back when you can post with more care for the team then your own self. Until then you deserve no respect from and decent Buc fans.

  88. NPRSageBoy Says:

Use the bye to get RG4 ready. How much worse than JayMiss could he possibly be? Seriously, enough is enough with Winston. Way past time to move on.

  89. mark2001 Says:

When Joe talks like this, people should listen. Jameis is on the thinist of ice, and at this point Warner isn’t the only guy “that can’t figure Jameis out”. I’m not sure Arians can anymore. The candle is burning short. and the old reasons/excuses just aren’t flying anymore. A rookie QB with a racked up O line? Yeah.. you can expect mistakes like this. But not a 5th year QB. He was an international embarrassment today… very sad…. I’m still hoping, but the ice is getting very thin.

    @Oneilbucs

Enough with your WHATABOUTISM logic to defend Winston’s crappy play. Stop trying to use correlations of other team’s with a good Defense or because it’s something Tom Brady with a bad game so it somehow justifies Winston’s mistakes and puts it all on our Defense.

Your logic is that our QB, no matter if it’s Winston or not, shouldn’t be held accountable for playing like crap as long as our Defense can’t win games for us.

That’s the WORST football argument I’ve ever heard in my life.

This isn’t just a time or place to vent, it’s time for more Bucs fans to WAKE UP and realize we have to move on from Jameis Winston, just like I’ve been saying for a very long time. I’m sorry you can’t handle that.

DB55- I get moderated for nothing and pittsore ( 11:27 time stamp) posts freely… now to your post there have been many many racist tags on Jameis critics over the years, so as crass as Pittsores post was … deal with it ! Jamyth is as Jamyth does and the club footed dunderhead is a HORRIBLE QB…and that is without including his INTs

  99. BucsBandit Says:

    DB55,

I’m curious… are you black? I would assume you are. You know racism is a 2-way street. You post a lot of anti-white comments on this site and somehow feel justified in doing so when people criticize Winston.

Give it a rest man. Keep the discussion to football and keep the racist hatred to yourself.

  100. Losinghope Says:

In all seriousness we can not win W this qb. He’s terrible and has been the same for 5yrs now. He turns the ball over. He’s inaccurate deep. He doesn’t throw check downs. He doesn’t throw it away. And when he’s not throwing pics he’s holding the ball too long. He literally ran INTO sacks today. He’s not worth a f***** extension particularly when we have other needs

  101. JimmyJack Says:

Bandit you have already told me you don’t fully support the team because of one player.

That makes all you words empty to true diehards.

You obvisously have soured on this team and have turned your fandom into being more about comment section arguments. To the rest of us the true contest is on the field and that’s where it ends……..You are an absolute ignoramous if you really think any decent Buc fan will feel apologetic for defending one of our own players……..I don’t expect you to understand because you are truly an outsider with an outsiders opinion. Sorry if you think you still are an die-hard but you just aren’t anymore……That’s what happens when you lose support for the name on the front of the jersey because of one player name on the back of the jersey.

Go ahead and squirm all you like about it. And continue on not fully supporting the team while you try to win a argument on a comment section. The rest of us will worry about the games.

It’s just time to trade him , if any one wants a used backup.

  105. BucsBandit Says:

    JimmyJack,

Nonsense. I’ve been a diehard fan of this team since they began in 1976. i’ve been to too many games at the Big Sombrero and RayJay to even try and count. I was at the Super Bowl when we won in 2003 (and amazing moment.)

I DO support the team, very much so. I support getting this team back to becoming winners again. And I am able to recognize that Jameis Winston is holding us back and will continue to. He needs to go, plain and simple. And THIS is a critical year… if we sign him to a long-term extension, we’re screwed for 5-7+ more years.

I want Winston gone. We need to start over at the QB position while we rebuild this team. I’m also not a fan of Jason Licht either and wouldn’t lose any sleep if he were to get fired.

Being “fully supportive” of the team and all the players on it (no matter how bad some might be) doesn’t make you a better fan, it makes you NAIVE.

If you honestly think that ‘real’ fans have to support everyone on a team, then you must be new to sports. That’s not the way it works, nor is it the way the team will ever get back to being winners if you just ‘accept’ team liabilities like Winston.

  111. Oneilbucs Says:

Bucsbandit you don’t nothing about football. Jamies had a bad game and I agree with everyone who said he did . But I’m not a national media quarterbacks fix every thing type of guy . I go by what I see . If the bucs are going to go back to what we used to be we need to focus on building our defense and offensive line first. I think we have a running back but I just don’t know why they love Payton Barber so much. The Patriots has the number 1 defense and every category this year. It’s not hard to win with that team and Brady knows it . They have a running game as well. And now look at the 49ers they have Lynch as their GM and they look like the bucs of old. That’s my hold point. I don’t care about quarterbacks like yall do cause I know with a good defense and running game you can have a average quarterback in win the super bowl look at Philadelphia prime example. Build the defense and offensive line and we back on top . The only thing you see is quarterback and you think that will fix all our problems. Jamies is on my team now so I will root for him as long he is a Buccaneer!!! Go bucs….

  112. JimmyJack Says:

Bandit maybe you were a die-hard years ago but you are no more.

Your personal opinions can exist independent of fandom.

I’m sorry that the Webster’s Sports dictionary states that full unbridled support to be the defining factor of a die-hard but it does.

You have already declared you have lost support for the team and refuse to go to any games. By definition that is not full support.

Not that you should be jealous of any die-hard fans. Our life’s are the least glamous of any of the classifactions. We ate a disturbed and sick group. You’re probably better off.

  113. Mo_Downs Says:

i’m living in LA now and haven’t posted here in a while. I almost gave up on the Bucs after “UBER” Jameis struck again.

I now cheer for 3-Teams, Rams, Bears and Bucs. Last year 2-3 of my teams put an ENTERTAINING product on the field. Bears, as historically proven, need a quality QB and won’t go beyond being able to pitch a defensive shutout…every game.

In reality only one team, Rams, had consistent QB play. Bears, as usual are are “Looking” for a talented “white” (didn’t draft Mahomes or Watson when they were available and actually traded UP to get the disaster QB to manage the game.

Winning clearly isn’t what sells tickets in Chicago. I should know because Season Tickets had been in my family for DECADES. So, don’t get me started on their “trade away Lou Brock” front office.

Now to the Bucs. First of all I was a Jameis fan since FSU. I stuck by him when his character was under full assault by everyone and figured he would mature beyond 12 years old. He didn’t. He still seems as inaccurate as he always has been and couldn’t be taught by Kotter, Inc to develop beyond his bad habits, just like a spoiled 12 year old. And, despite my continued hopes, he’s set in stone and will always be a booty grabbin’, jump pass throwin’ 12 year old.

    I am NOT ENTERTAINED.

Don’t get me started on the Bucs front office. They’ve joined the Bears as ticket sellers “only” to a captive fan base. Letting “Kwon-zilla” go was a crime that ranks up there with the Cubs letting a pre Hall of Fame Lou Brock go.

Devonte is great but “Kwon-zilla” was special…even at 80%. I still get chills when I recall his rookie pre-season legal hit on some hapless QB that put him into the twilight zone. and yet he’s now on the 49ers..in his prime.

Oh well, at least the Rams should be ENTERTAINING. Imagine having the Bucs receiving corps on the Rams….or Jameis “UBER” on the Bears………Scary..!!

Sorry for the long post but it’s been a while since I posted here and I had a lot to get off my chest…starting with the Bears trading “UP?” and drafting Trubisky.

Oh Brother..I hope the “Lakers” stay healthy. Should be ENTERTAINING..!!

  114. BucsBandit Says:

    JimmyJack,

Repeating falsehoods over and over doesn’t make them become factual.

I never said I fully lost support of the team, you’re making things up. I said I refuse to waste my time and money trying to root the team to victories until Winston is replaced because it’s obvious he’s holding us back. There’s a big difference there. If I wasn’t a diehard fan and didn’t love this team I wouldn’t waste hours of my time posting on this site and giving my opinions on what we need to do to build a better future.

Again for the record… being a die-hard fan doesn’t mean you accept the problems of the team and not put any effort into seeing change happen.

  115. Mo_Downs Says:

Wouldn’t a GOOD coach pull Jameis after his 3rd pick..??

    Jus Sayin’

  116. BucsBandit Says:

    Oneilbucs,

I’ve NEVER stated that if Winston were replaced we’d become instant playoff contenders and a great team. NEVER.

We DO need to greatly improve our Defense and our O-Line, no doubt. But that doesn’t excuse Winston for his 4+ years of poor play nor doesn’t allow for people to realize he’s just not a decent consistent NFL QB.

By your logic that would mean that any team with a bad Defense and bad O-Line should never get rid of their QB no matter how bad he plays. That makes no sense.

The QB position, like all the others, can and sbould be independently evaluated.

And with being said, Winston just isn’t consistent enough and doesn’t protect the ball enough, to be the guy worth betting the future on and giving a huge contract that will take up $20M+ more in cap space than bringing in a rookie or cheaper alternative that would allow us to buy many solid free agents to improve our D and OL.

    It’s just that simple.

  117. Aceofaerospace Says:

Yeah, the team played bad again today, but only one buccaneer on that field thinks he’s worth $30 mil a year next year. Not gonna happen. 11 more weeks of this joke.

  118. Buccfan37 Says:

I figure Winston played the best he could under various circumstances beyond his control. The entire team has to perform well for Winston to be more successful. The QB can’t block for himself. This game had a Bucs loss written all over it before it even started. A dreary gray pall hung over the venue and that was the game I saw.

  119. JimmyJack Says:

Sorry Bandit you are wrong. Not much of a technical guy outside of sports jargon. Do the work for yourself and look up the definition of the word support.

Sorry you don’t like my facts but they’re not mine. Like I said I’m merely quoting the sports dictionary.

Don’t be offended their are still other prestigious classifactions of fans you probably qualify for. And when all said and done being a die-hard is nothing special.

Anyways I’ll be there on the 10th to support this team to do all I can to help get us a winning home record. You may think trying to help this team win home games is a waste of time. I simply disagree which is OK bro.

It’s good to have different feeling about things. It’s what makes the world go round.

  120. Oneilbucs Says:

Jimmy Jack that’s how I feel about the team as well. The off season is long and if I lived in Tampa I would be there right by your side cheering on my bucs. That’s why I support Jamies cause he’s on the team. I just believe that the way the 49ers are playing that’s the real bucs way of winning. Good defense and running the ball good. That’s how you win in this league. We tried to be like what ever body and the national media said to be if you want to win in the NFL. They said quarterback is all you need. Then they said get weapons for the quarterback and your team will win we tried that to and none of it worked. Now it’s just time to go back to buc ball and build a dominant defense and just run the ball well enough to win. We don’t need a quarterback to throw 50 times a game. I wouldn’t mind 25 or 30 and run the ball . That’s the real identity of the Tampa bay Buccaneers and we have walked away from it it’s just time to get back to those days.

  121. BucsBandit Says:

    JimmyJack,

Sorry, dude, but you don’t get to try and ‘rank’ Bucs fans based on the criteria you believe makes them a die-hard fan or any other classification, So save your breath.

P.S. I know plenty of die-hard Bucs fans that would blow away any commitment or support you’ve ever had for this team and here’s a newsflash… they’ve soured on this team as well because of Winston. I’m talking about fans that not just go and sit in the south endzone (or wherever you regularly sit) to root the team to victory. I’m talking about people that wouldn’t miss a home game AND travel to many of the away games every season.

But here’s another newsflash for you… trying to ‘rate’ different levels of fandom for a team is STUPID, PETTY, and POINTLESS. So you can go on and on about how you ‘judge’ other Bucs fans because you believe they’re doing less than the effort you’re giving (or whatever) but that’s just ridiculous and, yeah… PETTY.

So go on with your virtue-signaling and nonsense if you want, but I’m not going to waste anymore time trying to explain to someone that water is wet.

  122. Who Cares Says:

    DB 55

    WTFDYK?

…Nothing. Your “FU” to Bandit and every defense of Jameis Winston is proof positive.

BTW, answer this. Which NFL QB has thrown 5 interceptions, lost a fumble, and won?
    I’ll wait.

  123. A Train Says:

No doubt the offensive line SUCKS and consequently, we have a non-existent running game. These things do impact QB performance negatively, I don’t think anyone would argue that.

I think most people have a problem with Winston’s decision making and his overall lack of ability to run or move out of the pocket and get rid of the ball. He is not very athletic and not very reliable. You need to be one or the other, if you can’t be both.

Db55 , I’ve been watching pro football for a long time . It’s obvious your boy , Jamis isn’t qualified to lead a professional franchise . His mental acumen doesn’t allow him to process information quickly enough . When confronted with a no win situation he steps up directly into the rush ( hence the two sacks by 93 )before I stopped watching . Couple that with the inherent accuracy, the problem’s you as a buccaneers fan need to wake up and smell the coffee , Winston will never , never, be a successful professional QB . Get over yourself and move on ! I’ve been a fan since before you were born . You don’t know d— k about football .

  127. BigMacAttack Says:

  130. DB55 Says:

    1976 (lol smh)

I’ll go back and look but if memory serves me there was a free defender blitzing from the outside which led Jameis to step up into the pass rush.

Did you see the 76 yard bomb that Evans dropped? Jameis had time on that play and threw a great pass right into the breadbasket. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  131. Kord Says:

Just pay the dude and release him, start Griffin and show the world that you actually care. No other team in the nfl would start #3. If i get off work tomorrow and see we haven’t begun to bring in fa qbs I’m gonna flip. Just give Winston his money for the year, but just get this cancer out of one buc

  132. Kord Says:

Otherwise Winston is gonna cost 12 head coaches there jobs on relentless 5-11 seasons where it’s everyone else’s “fault”.

  133. PLD Says:

1976 bucklover, who cares how long you been a buc fan. I have been a buc fan from the beginning as well. I don’t usually post on blogs but I do read most of the comments on Jameis. Any person of color can see the racism tones in such comments like yours 1. Jameis not qualified to lead a professional franchise. I didn’t know that he needed to put in an application coming out of FSU as a busman trophy winner. 2. His mental acumen doesn’t allow him to process information quickly. It was my understanding he was accepted at Stanford university and has a high football IQ. People have the right to criticize Jameis, but when you start dog whistling, I don’t blame folks like DB55 for pushing back.

  134. PLD Says:

    Typo heisman

  135. Anglican Says:

You act surprised with a QB that has a .383 average. Wins 23 Losses 37. He will ALWAYS be at the bottom

  136. July Joe Says:

Mike Evans looked like he was playing … half asleep … the entire game. It was weird.

JW does what JW does … gunslings. If not for drops he could have had 500+ yards and another TD which means the Bucs would have put 30+ on the board as an offense … it wouldn’t have mattered as they can’t stop anyone from scoring “more” …

JW, Evans, Godwin … they’re all being wasted on a team with no defense … it reminds me of when Barry Sanders and Herman Moore were on the Lions, or heck, when Stafford and Megatron were on the Lions … the Lions and Bucs franchises are both poor …

  137. UKbuc Says:

I might add to the conversation as to why they keep this dreadful quarter back in the game after so many mistakes? Even our best football (soccer) are removed from the pitch when they are not playing week or providing quality effort.
