Panthers 37, Buccaneers 26

October 13th, 2019

Big day for Gerald McCoy

Special teams was sloppy, the defense was bad and the offense looked like it did in 2009.

Joe had one dreadful morning watching the Bucs and pondering their future.

Bucco Bruce Arians told everyone the talent would not be the issue with the 2019 Bucs. Did he believe it? Was he conning Team Glazer and fans? Did he overestimate 90 percent of the roster?

Joe is sick after today’s beating by the Panthers. Outplayed. Outcoached.

The Panthers were the more physical team and another backup quarterback beats the Buccaneers.

Sadly, the Bucs looked less focused and ready than Carolina, which Joe will pin on Arians and his vaunted sports science staff. And the Panthers had plenty of sloppiness.

Hat tip to Ryan Smith for a hell of a special teams forced fumble and other solid play there. That’s why he earns $2 million per season. Kudos to Matt Gay for a 54-yard field goal. His bounceback from Week 2 continues.

The nearly annual October tradition of draft talk in Tampa has once again returned in a big way. The Bucs’ needs appear to be exactly what they were last season, maybe add a receiver to that list.

Happy freakin’ bye week!

Thank goodness for garbage time stats. Godwin got his fantasy points.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Three articles before the game even ended, and not one mention of the sacks.

  7. Brion Says:

I simply cannot understand why, on repeated occasions no less, Mike Evans is surprised the ball is coming to him.

  8. NO FEAR... Says:

HERE WE GO AGAIN ANOTHER LOST YEAR , I SEE IT COMING , FIRE ALL OF THEM FROM THE GROUND UP ESPECIALLY MANAGER LITE FOOT AND THE COACHES THEIR WORSE THAN THE LAST ONE’S AND GET RID OF WINSTON , HE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY HE WANTS NEXT YEAR , THEIR’S ROOCKIES OUT THERE ALOT BETTER THAN HE WILL EVER BE , HE’S A BUST !!! 9. Buccaneerscotty Says:

The same sacks are because Winston can’t and doesn’t understand the dump off or throw away!!

  13. Hodad Says:

The tone of the day was set when Mr. Magoo threw a pick on his first friggin play. Did anyone believe we were going to win after that? How about after the third pick, or the second fumble, did you see Jameis bringing us back to victory? I didn’t, and I’m sure his team mates, and Coaches didn’t think he could either. We lost today on the first play of the game.

  14. Proudbucfan Says:

I’ve been a Jameis Winston supporter but I cannot do it anymore. 5 years and he is not going to change, he’s only good enough to be a backup. I believe it’s time to blow the whole organization up. Fire everyone and sell the team.

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Lets face it fellow Buc fans. We suck. We suck to holy hell and beyond. This will be 12..12 seasons with no playoff appearance for this team. Its another drink for me to deaden the pain. I’m looking at the remaining schedule and see perhaps…
3 or 4 more wins. Which places us at another top 10 draft pick.

  16. PragueBucsFan Says:

Arians punked the Glazers so hard with the 5 year Licht extension. My nostalgic sentiment and homeboy loyalty to this team ends here. I just dont care that much anymore.

Joebucsfan is the best Bucs fansite. You guys have been doing a great job. Im Seattle Buc, changed my name when sold house and moved. Been following JBF from the beginning.

  17. Buccfan37 Says:

    Bummer man.

  18. A Train Says:

Glad I missed it, sounds like it was horrific. I don’t get NFL network anymore, I chose to play a round of golf today instead. I think I made a wise choice.

Seriously, 5 turnover for Winston?! You can’t spell WINSTON without I-N-T!

  19. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

No offense A Train but if you’re out playing golf on game day rather than finding a spot to catch a division game with basically the season riding on it you’re not really a fan.

  20. Mike10 Says:

But we will continue to go into the draft without a game plan, handcuffed by need-based picks.

Licht should have been fired years ago, can this guy already and honestly.. I may start the whole thing over. BA has yet to out-coach an opponent.
