“They Are Definitely Looking At Quarterbacks. Jason Licht Isn’t Crazy.”

September 10th, 2019

“Look, Mr. Glazer. I had McCown flashbacks, too. We’ll have an attack-plan outline on your desk by 11 a.m. Friday morning. I’m all about preparation.”

Interesting words here from a true Buccaneers insider.

Bucs fans blessed with vision saw the debacle at the Den of Depression delivered by Jameis Winston on Sunday. America’s Quarterback further soiled his reputation across the 50 states by looking like a rookie, not a guy making his 55th NFL start.

A man the Bucs pay to analyze these matters, retired 10-year NFL tight end John Gilmore, was very clear as his voice streamed across the Buccaneers.com postgame show. Jameis was bad and the higher-ups are acutely aware, he said.

“Don’t’ get it twisted. They are definitely looking at quarterbacks. Jason Licht isn’t crazy,” Gilmore said, referring to the Bucs’ scouting department.

Well, the Bucs should be scouting quarterbacks, which they said they didn’t do much of, if anything all, in 2018. Joe, however, believes that was more of a public stance, part of the we-don’t-want-Jameis-looking-over-his-shoulder attitude.

Joe hopes Gilmore is correct. Team Glazer should have an open checkbook for Licht immediately for scouting and researching quarterbacks. There should be a firm plan in place at One Buc Palace with firm timelines for comprehensive reports on how the process is progressing.

Sure, there’s still plenty of time for Jameis to resurrect himself and prove he’s worth a long-term investment. But should the organization bet on that happening?

No way. That would be as irresponsible as letting Michael Bennett walk away for no good reason.

Licht needs to look no further than RG4 at this point.

I don’t trust Licht….the next GM certainly will be looking….

  3. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

THE WINSTON SAGA IS OVER….THANK GOD!!! And not even his staunchest FSU fans,…..errrr, supporters are uttering a syllable any longer. GHTFOH !!!!

  4. volbuc1 Says:

Licht had all the time in the world to scout and research about hiring a QB when we had the first round pick. Now 5 years later youre saying the same thing JOE! Why will this be any different?? No confidence in your opinions or Lichts decisions, both have been wrong more times than we all can count. Saying the same thing year in and year out is getting ridiculous.

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

This needed to be taking place regardless of Jameis’ performance. When you have Gabbert and Griffin as your back-ups, you should be scouting QBs. It’s not a “knock”, just looking at the big picture.

  6. NPRSageBoy Says:

I don’t trust Licht to hire the next One Buc Palace janitor.

  7. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I thin no regardless of how Winston plays this year, they should be long at quarterbacks. Even if he lights up the NFL, he would have 4 years of very inconsistent play and one good year. You can’t trust that with a long term big money commitment. If he lights it up, you can franchise him and make him prove it again.

  8. firethecannons Says:

Right on! Lets get that scouting team activated, Bucs are ready to move forward without JW3 if necessary. IMHO it is necessary. Thanks to Jameis I am a Bucs fan, I used to only watch FSU games, anyway now I watch all football but Bucs are my team and we have to move forward. Jameis cannot be trusted with the football. Too many int’s and he cant stop, no more excuses. Trade him by the deadline.

  9. Bucfanforever Says:

Maybe they shouldn’t scout quarterbacks. Winston was one of the most heavily scrutinized qbs before he was drafted.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Get Jake Fromm’s people on the phone now. Go Bucs.

  11. pelbuc Says:

It took Bucs 5 yrs to figure out JW is not the answer and they’re still in denial, somehow hoping he turns it around in the next 15 games. SMH!

  12. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Licht has repeatedly made the mistake of having the player he was planning on taking gone just before the Bucs pick then he panicked and swung for the fences with a “look at me” I had this guy rated high” at the same position pick and left everyone scratching their heads including the talking heads on the TV draft panels…Licht is a “Peter Principal ” GM

  13. zzbuc Says:

Jason LIcht is not crazy…..he is just inept, that´s all…….

  14. BigHog Says:

Moron the MAGA….STFU! …GO cheer for the QB of your choice please!!

  15. Anonymous Says:

    Jake Fromm, people.

  16. BigHog Says:

I don’t care who you bring in …behind this line …the QB play will get no better!! Get some better O/lineman!!!! GO FAMOUS !!! Take a knee haters!!

  17. Bill Says:

Mariota/Winston was a weak year for QBs. But they had to take one, or stick with Glennon.
This year will be better. Hope they can’t blow it.

  18. ITS ABOUT TIME !! Says:

    PLAY QB RYAN

  19. Craig Says:

The Bucs have never renewed a contracted quarterback, there is no reason to change now. I hope they don’t trash this season by trying to make JW look like a reasonable trade, a 30 something % percent win rate will never get there.

Best to cut our losses and give RG a go. He might be worth a high trade, maybe even a renewed contract.

  20. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

Another lost season for the Bucs. That’s right. As I said before, I’m officially done being an optimist/apologist. Jameis is a loser. Maybe some day he will be like Trent Dilfer and an extremely good team will carry him to wins. It isn’t this Bucs team. We need our QB to play well. Our defense is trending up, which is good. Now we just need a strong young RT, a strong young pass rusher, and a smart young QB and we will be competing for the playoffs. BYE BYE JAMEIS.

  21. ClodHopper Says:

A Few years ago Licht said he always has a list of coaches ready. I would expect no less about players too, especially qbs.

  22. Drax Says:

Winston looks like a budget Fitzpatrick. You’ll get some great play but also lot’s of crap play. We actually should trade Miami for the real Fitzmagic back. 😉

  23. Lamarcus Says:

Yea look for another Qb for him to here and suck???

  24. Lamarcus Says:

You know I’m still backing JW. F it. He still my Qb

  25. Ate one tree Says:

    Justin Herbert come on down!!

  26. Bejesus belt Says:

Draft a quarterback, and no edge pass rusher drafted until 2021. Great.

  27. SB Says:

One thing Everyone can agree on……
    Jameis was given EVERY opportunity.

  28. passthebuc Says:

Joe, you are wrong. Giving Licht an open checkbook is why we have no talent and no cap space.

  29. Bucco Edd Says:

BigHog, youre telling me its the olines fault he threw a couple of pick 6s, lost a couple of fumbles, got an intentional grounding call in the redzone with no defenders around? Its the onlines fault hes made those decisions for years? Deshaun Watson has the worst rated oline in the league and he doesnt look so bad, so whats the difference?

  30. Slugglife Says:

The failed experiment is close to being over. Thank God.

    Just like 44.

  31. passthebuc Says:

Owner to sales manager. I see your top salesman is unproductive so I am going to give him more territory.

  32. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Here is some news – they are looking at QBs. They are looking at OL. They are looking at RBs. They are looking at DBs. Should I go on? They are scouts. That’s what they do. That’s what they are paid to do. None of that is news.

  33. Lamarcus Says:

    Over reaction Monday…. And Tuesday??

Thanks JW now it’s opening season for your haters

Who has more haters haters? Trump?

  34. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

On the positive side, the power rankings just came out and we’re number 30!

    Good News!

2 teams suck worse than us!!

  35. Bruce Blahak Says:

Go get mcsorley right now. Great prospect

  36. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

NPRSAGEBOY….that was awesome!!! screw getting a rookie qb, its time for the bucs to win in the next 2 years….step 1 fire licht…step 2 start drafting OL/DL and a RB, unless rojo pans out….get case keenum and win some games….the only way I would be cool with a rookie qb and then have some patience is if the bucs could get lincoln riley and I guess I could wait 2-3 years for something that he might be able to bring new to the table, I mean its been 12 years whats another 3-5

  37. D-Rome Says:

For all the criticism that Backstabbin’ Jason Licht deserves I will never hold picking Jameis Winston #1 overall on him. It was the right decision back then and if the Bucs had a chance to do it all over again they *still* should take him. It’s 90% of the decisions after that moment that has been a disaster. If the Bucs end up 6-10, Jameis flames out, and Licht is *still* here then I think it would be unprecedented that in this modern era a failed GM has another opportunity to draft a franchise QB. Almost all GMs of failing franchises only get one chance.

  38. Lamarcus Says:

One of the sloppiest games I’ve ever seen. The Bucs seems to never disappoint. Always a new low with them. I couldn’t enjoy the Flagfest and both teams couldn’t gain any momentum because of penalty stoppage

  39. mark2001 Says:

Why wouldn’t he? A couple more games like that this year, and there will be no place for Jameis on this team. And it is either signing a rookie or a retread. I’d prefer the former.

  40. Jean Lafitte Says:

For all the revisionist out there, where do you think we would be today had we chosen Marcus Mariota instead?

  41. GetOverIt Says:

Wouldn’t spend another dime on Jameis. We’ve seen what he is, and it will be time to move on after the season.

  42. 813bucboi Says:

    no no no…..

if we JW continues to play like he did sunday and we have a top5 pick please trade down and collect picks!!!!!….fix/create depth along the O & D lines….draft a decent RB….draft a safety….

a young QB will look just like winston if we dont create depth along the trenches….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  43. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Jamyth will play just good enough to put the top QB draft prospects out of reach….Buc Luck

  44. BigRed Says:

Doug Williams, Steve Young, even Trent Dilfer. The best gift a Bucs QB can receive is to be cut. Belichick will pick Winston up for cheap, he will sit behind Brady for a year and presto chango Super Bowl MVP.

  45. stpetebucsfan Says:

Even though it’s far fetched and out of the question…I’m slightly surprised I’ve only read one post that mentioned Andrew Luck.

Given BA’s connection I thought that would be the next hot rumor. JW and a draft pick or two to Indy to bring Luck here…

Not likely of course but stranger things have happened. It would be a dream for Buc fans.

  46. mark2001 Says:

So 813…you want another Fitz or McCown, because we sure as the sun rising won’t even pay Jameis even 10 mil. a year for more games like the last one. Got it. I’d say if the young gun is there in the top five and we are drafting there because Jameis among other can’t get us above that, let him go, pick that young gun, and rebuild. And don’t forget…chances to draft that high in a year where many top notch QB’s will be available don’t come along all the time.

  47. Buc1987 Says:

    Jean Lafitte Says:

“For all the revisionist out there, where do you think we would be today had we chosen Marcus Mariota instead?”

    No better.

This team sucked LONG before Jameis and it’ll suck afterwards too.

To me Winston still has 15 games.

I’m not throwing in the towel yet.

  48. Warrenfb12 Says:

I don’t want Licht picking our next qb

  49. Old School Athlete Says:

Morgus , I’m afraid the saga is not over and won’t be until we’re mathematically eliminated. Every indication is the team’s philosophy is “we need to see what we have in Jameis”.
I would be in favor of giving the guys we already have on the roster a shot. I don’t see many QBs available right now that are better. Brandon Weedin is not getting me excited.
Like Craig, I’m afraid we’re going to trash the season because somebody wants to prove how smart they are. I will be VERY upset as a fan if I get any sense that we start tanking for a draft pick. I remember how well that worked last time. Real athletes play to win every time. There’s no such thing as a meaningless game.

  50. BigHog Says:

Bucco Edd …when the ball is snapped, all 11 players on offense has a job to do and receivers have a spot to be at times and the O /Line has the job of holding up….I doubt anyone is saying our O/line is is even close to average! Until we dump FAMOUS, I will support him and the team as a whole! Is he beyound being held accountable? NO …If you are saying he must play better …agreed!! But I will not trash him after the season opener! Maybe BA can work on the O/line during the next few games!!

  51. Gooberton Says:

Why does Jameis wear those bright white arm bands? I believe its an advantage to the Defense. His arms could telegraph his throwing motion and direction. Plus he is easy to spot in collapsing pocket and a mass of players closing in.

  52. DooshLaRue Says:

Wait a minute……. you’re telling me that the best QB the Bucs have ever had isn’t that good?

    That’s crazy talk.

  53. Oregonbucsfan Says:

Where are all those Pollyannas predicting great things for the Bucs this year? Seems that instead of backing up Famous Jamous they folded their tents and disappeared. The JW experiment is over. He was/is/will be a predictable failure. Time to move on.
Where is 10 and 6 NOSBOS?

  54. BigHog Says:

Bring in Colin that’s the only QB that can maybe help us now …he can move a little better tha FAMOUS!!

  55. DooshLaRue Says:

Anybody know which pickle park Munch is working today?

    I need some DEEP consoling!

  56. Buc1987 Says:

    15 more games to go.

  57. Buc'n Enough Says:

    If JW fails…

The Glazer stooges should clean house and start over..
Why should Gump get to have two head coaching choices and two QB choices with the record he is associated with.

The new GM should trade ME13..he deserves better than what this org has provided for him..get some good pics for ME13 for the new HC and GM and start rebuild mode…

  58. Buc Wild Says:

I went ahead and burned my Jameis jersey after Sunday’s game. I went Facebook Live for all the people who told me over the years how terrible Jameis is and I kept making excuses for the guy. I’m done with him. If we’re not in the playoffs this year, no way he should be playing on this team next season.

  59. mark2001 Says:

Here is the bottom line…Jameis will have a full year with the QB whisperer. If he is playing like a franchise QB as the season progresses, he stays and gets that huge payday. If not, Arians will wash his hands of him and wish him well. You won’t get two or more years, at a kings ransom salary, to prove yourself with the QB whisperer. If he doesn’t make it this year, it is over for him. Period.

  60. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

As long as Licht is here Jameis will be

No way this joke of a GM survives 3 coaches and a 1st overall pick being a bust

  61. Buc1987 Says:

Some of you peeps are saying and doing some drastic shyte after only the first game of the season.

    Monday’s over.

Two more days until week 2’s game.

Calm down…..Arians was brought here for a reason.

    Let’em do his QB whispering.

  62. Sport Says:

Big Hog – its not elusiveness we need. Its quicker release. JW ranks at the bottom of the league in delivering the football. If we had the best Oline in history, it wouldn’t hold up that long. Get the ball out!!!

    In BA I Trust!

  63. TampaTown Says:

After watching last nights Saints Texans game and seeing what BOTH QB’s did with the ball in under a minute, there really is no excuse for Jameis anymore. He just doesn’t have it and never will.

  64. mark2001 Says:

We all hope that Jameis never has another game like the last one, and he plays 15 more games not like Fitz..or McCown…but like Brady, Rodgers or Mahomes. That is the measure of a franchise QB. And if he doesn’t, we better look for on. You only get one year at this salary and experience level, with the QB whisperer.

  65. LordCornelius Says:

If Jameis is gone then Licht needs to go too. Blow the whole f**king thing up

  66. mark2001 Says:

LC…we have put the team in the hands of Arians…for the next couple years. And if we don’t step up in a couple more years, I expect the entire thing blown up.

  67. Buc1987 Says:

I gotta kinda off topic question :

If the Raiders are leaving after this season…..how in the hell are they packing the stadium with Oakland fans?

That place was filled to the gills. They have to be 1/2 price tickets or something.

The Raiders are leaving. I wouldn’t go to ANY games if I was a fan.

Maybe the Glazers should cut tickets in 1/2…then again that might not help either.

  68. mark2001 Says:

The only GM you will get here in the next couple years, is the one Arians puts his seal of approval on…one of his choice. You guys don’t get that? And if it is a GM he doesn’t want, he is out of here.

  69. Bucnjim Says:

Jameis is getting the same excuses as McCoy had gotten for years. It’s everyone else’s fault but theirs. There is fantasy that says both McCoy and Winston are great players who just need the right players around them. Then their is actual reality where one is a situational player still doing nothing for another team and Winston well even with a armory of weapons can’t hit the broad side of a barn as they say.

  70. mark2001 Says:

And if Bowles goes, you are grasping at straws with HC retreads like Lovie again, or Raheem and Schiano’s. Yeah..that is the ticket. What proven HC would want the gig at that point?

  71. T REX Says:

5 years in and we are still wondering. Stupid.

  72. mark2001 Says:

And I hate to bring more bad news, particularly for the Licht haters…If Arians was the only quality coach that would take this gig, and Licht was instrumental in him coming here, you should be thankful that the Gmen didn’t fire Licht. Or we would be with some promoted second assistant from Alabama or something of the sort as our HC. Not saying I guarantee it will all work out. But no one will be signed to this team or cut without the Arians stamp of approval. So relax, and trust in Arians. You have little choice or little hope otherwise at this point.

  73. Jean Lafitte Says:

Pretty sad after the first game, that should’ve been for the win, we already can’t wait for the season to end. We’re not even waiting till October, and we’re already talking draft. Sad indeed.

  74. Slugglife Says:

    Haynes

With every post you confirm your support for this teams QB is solely based on race.

  75. Greg Says:

If the Buccaneers get rid of Winston I will be thrilled. However let’s not start taking the season after week one and hoping that he fails one week into a new system. Let’s be supportive and let it play out however it plays. The Dolphins are making sure they get the first quarterback you don’t know what your options will be if you get rid of Winston. My fear however is that Winston will do just enough this year for them to franchise tag and one more year. It’s a nightmare that simply won’t and easily for Tampa

  76. Bradinator Says:

What’s the quote “When someone shows you who they REALLY are for the first time, believe it!” Jameis looks no different now than 4 years ago. If there was some kind of progression going on, I would be ok with it. Still staring down receivers, cannot hit the long ball, and stuff like that last pick six that reminded me of that play, in season one, where he was being thrown to the ground and just threw a ball up for grabs on like the ten. 2 rookies, makin their very first NFL start, one of them being Gardiner Minshew, were better than our 5th year guy. I said it late last year, Jameis needs to go, for his career, and our team’s well being. It’s not working out.

  77. 813bucboi Says:

    mark

what good what it be for the rookie QB if he’s playing behind the same oline and depending on the same defense that lacks pass rush?

    we’d be calling him a bust…..

instead we need to do what other teams did like the eagles, rams, bears texans, chiefs…..build a solid team first, then go get your young QB….that way the young QB can have a chance to learn, develop and lean on the defense and run game before being asked to lead the team, become the face of the franchise and the teams savior…..

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  78. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Old School Athlete, to borrow from SB above, NO ONE can say Winston has not been given EVERY opportunity already. (Insert definition of insanity here)

  79. asdf Says:

    @bigred

“Doug Williams, Steve Young, even Trent Dilfer. The best gift a Bucs QB can receive is to be cut. Belichick will pick Winston up for cheap, he will sit behind Brady for a year and presto chango Super Bowl MVP.”

    This is comedic genius…bravo

  80. Jmarkbuc Says:

    87

Packed, except for the massive sections that are closed off?

  81. Bobby M. Says:

Makes business sense….this team is set up for sustained success with 3 quality D-linemen (Vea, Suh, JPP)…potentially 2 stud LBs….a promising cast in the secondary….a consistent kicker….and offense loaded with WRs/TEs. Add in the top tier staff that’s on the books. You don’t blow all that up for a rebuild.

Instead do what the Jags did….keep the core, drop the failed franchise QB and just run as far as you can with a game manager/experienced vet. Maybe you find a situation like Cunningham to the Vikings, Gannon to the Raiders, Warner with the Rams. You simply cant keep force feeding Winston to the locker room and fanbase when he’s not showing any ability to get the job done. He’s got 15 game to change the perception….but if the Cardinals yanked the cord on Rosen after one season, the Bucs should be willing to explore Winston’s replacement after 5. Especially if there’s a one of a kind talent there.

  82. Buc1987 Says:

Jmark….packed with a helluva lot more than Ray Jay with Bucs fans on Sundays.

They have to be giving tickets away.

    That’s IT.

The Glazers should GIVE tickets away by the 1000’s.

    That’ll pack em in!

  83. Bucamania Says:

Not very confident Licht and this scouting department will pick the right QB. Passed on Josh Allen for a MLB and couldn’t even pick the right Devin. Such a cluster.

  84. mark2001 Says:

813…did I say the line didn’t need improvement? Or that OJ learns to block better, hold on to the ball, and such? No. But the QB is the most important position on the team. And unless you have a D strewn with HOF players, he has to be better than a caretaker, or play like Jekyll or Hyde from one game to another,.

If you don’t pick the most important position with the best pick you have, you are missing the boat…particularly if you may not have as good a chance again in years, because you likely have a lower pick or you have fewer quality QB’s to choose from.

So what FA or back up QB would you sign that wouldn’t cost you a high draft pick and have to overpay for? Certainly not Jameis. However, if he starts playing like a Brady, Rodgers, or Mahomes franchise QB as th this year unfolds, it is a moot point. At that point, pay him.

  85. DB55 Says:

.300 lifetime winning percentage. What’s that tell you? 5 coaches 5 QBs, countless RBs, Defensive coordinators, free agents, you name it. Yet a .300 lifetime winning percentage.

  86. Bucamania Says:

Never throw good money after bad. And Jameis is BAD.

  87. Jmarkbuc Says:

    87

Think they’ve tried that..don’t think it worked.

Joe posted that NFL teams only make 16% of their revenue from tix sales..which leads me to the question.. why not slash tix prices across the board?

    25 or 50 % X 65,000. Is much better than 0 X full price…

Since they don’t need the money anyway

  88. Jmarkbuc Says:

    BUT 87

Like DB55 says, as long as it’s a garbage product very few are going to attend.

Especially when you have a QB who craps the bed more often than not.

  89. DB55 Says:

Winston will have a great career outside of Tampa.

Tampa will continue to suck out loud as they have since 1976.

  90. Bucsdelight Says:

Franchise tag Jameis for next year or sign him to a small sized contract. Then look to draft Trevor in 2021.

  91. Bucsfan3 Says:

How quick @Joe turns on Jameis. Kind of like @Joes blind support for D-Jax last year to finally realize and shift reality. Great example of how readers pick and choose. Joe hasn’t turned on Jameis, just calling it straight. Blind support. LOL–Joe Quit on Jameis now, don’t be there cheering him on when he shines!

  92. mark2001 Says:

BD…do you know how the pay structure of the Franchise Tag works? Maybe you are joking…if not, look it up.

  93. mark2001 Says:

DB55… Doubt if Jameis will have a great career elsewhere, if Arians can’t get it out of him here. I’m still waiting for a pinpoint throw on a bomb, among other things. Or do you mean baseball?

  94. mark2001 Says:

BF3…I hope he does “shine”, and we make the playoffs, or at least win 7 games. But the Jekyll/ Hyde thing won’t fly…it has to become “shining” on a weekly basis by midseason, or his days here are numbered.

  95. Pittsshore Says:

Best thing I heard all day. Great job joe.

  96. Buccfan37 Says:

Jameis probably doesn’t even bother reading opinions on his play. Who needs that doubt clouding his thinking.

  97. TiredBucFan Says:

    Herbert, Fromm even Charlie Brown.

  98. Old Sombrero Says:

The 2015 QB draft class was terrible. It was Jameis or Mariota or nothing. I remember thinking neither of the two were exciting and it seemed we had no choice but to draft a QB as I don’t recall anyone willing to come here as a FA. I think with the weapons we have now, it almost has to be a skilled FA versus high draft pick. Problem is what skilled franchise QB exists and would be available? I’m talking a legit winner who’s not at the end of his career. We need a Brad Johnson type who can manage the game with the weapons we have while we develop a drafted QB.

  99. Tye Says:

Jake Fromm could be that QB that could finally be a long term guy for the Bucs…
Herbert may as well but not really sold on him yet..

  100. Bucsfanman Says:

DB55- Lets wait and see if he’s good here first. We’ve got 15 more games and he’s the best QB on the roster. Despite his awful game Sunday, Griffin and/or Gabbert don’t exactly instill confidence either. He’d really have to bomb before he gets the hook!

  101. Clean House Says:

Hey all you morons, media morons, fan morons-
Coch said it himself, Jameis had one bad play- so F all of you and shut your mouths.

  102. Clean House Says:

    Joe,
I’m realizing you’re a real loud mouthed moron

  103. T REX Says:

WInstonpologists will hang on till the very day he’s cut. Please go with him. Thank you.

  104. TexBuc Says:

I will still reserve my judgement of the whole team and coaches till at least 75% of the games are played. Having said that I am still not sold on Tua in the NFL. I do like what I am seeing with the rookie at Boise State.

  105. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Jake Fromm??

As a UGA fan even I find that laughable lol dude is not good under pressure.

If I was Arians, I would give Winston until the bye week (7) to show him he is the #1 pick and franchise leader. I have to be honest I dont think Winston can do it. He is looking like he just had a baby on game day and is not sure what to do. We have seen a lot of QB play from him and its the same old problems with bad DEF reading, footwork, arm angle. He simply does not look like a 5th year Pro NFL QB.

I like Ryan Griffin too and think he deserves a chance. Could it really hurt the Bucs if we are 0-6 or 1-5? Not really. Blaine is not the future so why go there? However, I am smart enough to know that Arians wont bypass Blaine….he is loyal to a fault like Koetter and Lovie. Therefore my crystal ball says, Blaine is the QB in week 8-12. After we have 1-2 wins, we will see Griffin in week 13-16. Mark it down.

Buc1987: you prove your ignorance daily: from you” If the Raiders are leaving after this season…..how in the hell are they packing the stadium with Oakland fans?” Games in Las Vegas will attract a LARGE amount of fans from the visiting fan base. They will wrap a couple vacation days around it. Just like they do now in New Orleans.

This is what we need to do: give Ryan Griffin the rest of this season to prove that he is the man for the job. If he is not, draft one.

I believe Licht Weight was in the stands when Jamies laid a huge bowl/college playoff egg vs Mariota and the Ducks. He melted down in that game like he has time and again since. I really wanted Winston to work out in Tampa…it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards. I believe he will find some success elsewhere much like Vinny T. did.

Licht Weight will outlast the cockroaches during a nuclear winter. Outlasting coaches, coordinators, bust draft picks and lousy free agents. He may even outlast the Glazers’. I no longer doubt his ability to survive against all odds and common sense.

Not crazy? He drafted a lesser version of Freeman which I would have thought impossible

Jake Fromm is the Answer…at least, after Bruce Arians decides retirement is more fun, we will have one person in One Buc Place( don’t care about what ever the new stupid name is supposed to be) that is a true leader and can read defenses and adjust at the line of Scrimmage.
