No GMC Talk From Arians

September 9th, 2019

Emotions.

When Bucco Bruce Arians took over the Bucs, the Bucs parted ways with two starters of note on one of the league’s worst defenses.

One was linebacker Kwon Alexander, who won the lottery by inking a deal with former Bucs great and current 49ers general manager John Lynch.

Unfortunately for Alexander, his first game with the 49ers yesterday was memorable for how short it was. Alexander was run from the game and ordered to hit the showers after he headhunted America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

The other big-named player Arians and Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht waved goodbye to was stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.

With GMC signing with the Stinking Panthers and the Bucs playing the Stinking Panthers Thursday night, Arians was asked if the game would be emotional for the Bucs in facing GMC.

Two things were clear: Arians wanted no part of talking about GMC and Arians’ one-liner game is as sharp as ever.

“Yeah,” Arians of an emotional reunion with GMC Thursday, “about the same as it was for Kwon. Hope he doesn’t get thrown out of the game too.”

[Rimshot]

Joe is just going to guess GMC, who had a tackle yesterday in Carolina’s loss to Los Angeles, has already heard of Kwon’s boneheaded headhunting and as a result will likely try to keep his emotions in check and stow his Batarang.

As invisible as he has been over the years, we all know this will be the one game where he shows up big. Look for him to line up against Cappa.

  2. 123urout Says:

Who is GMC? never heard of that guy in Tampa.

    GMC who??????

  5. 99.97.92.55.47.40.28.20.7 Says:

need to bounce back. Panthers still stinging from a tough loss to a good team. Thursday night game probably helps us after this week. Allows the team to focus on winning in 3 days rather than stewing in Bucs Stew for a week.

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

Like PO Buc said, he will have a career game and the rest of the NFL will wonder why we let him go without knowing the whole story.

  7. NPRSageBoy Says:

McCoy is no Suh. Having said that, I wish McCoy well Thursday night and pray that Crappa can block him cause he’s coming for JayMiss early and often.

  8. Tc Says:

I watched McCoy all day yesterday and all he did was stand around and get pushed around and collected a paycheck. No impact on the game at all. Everyone that says Donald is all world should watch the way the patriots took him out of the Super Bowl. D Lineman only matter if they get a key strip at a key time in the game.

  9. ModHairKen Says:

Jokes. Lots of jokes, Coach. Like he play calling?

  10. stvcl Says:

Stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy? Dud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is more appropriate. I NEVER saw him change the game. I NEVER saw him make the players around him better. I NEVER saw him be a leader unless you consider yuk-yuking it up on the sideline when the Bucs were losing as being a leader. His only game was he had a quick first move off the line…if only he could have done something with it.

  11. DB55 Says:

Honestly I think I can have a career game against Cappa and Dotson.

It really is irresponsible of BA to let them play. Maybe the rumors are true maybe BA is setting Winston up to bring in Andrew Luck.

  12. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Why talk about a rotational player who made 1 tackle?

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

Again..Lmao here. Now watch GMC have one of his best games ever against these Bucs. I witnessed Cappa get thrown around like a rag doll on at least 5 plays. Dotson swears he’s playin HS ball. Wonder if he even know the definition of Penalty. And Smitty got beat off the ball like he was not even there. Ole GMC probably choppin at the bit right now.

  14. Jeffbuc Says:

Db55 why would Andrew luck want to leave a playoff team in Indy and come play for the bucs. And the only one setting up Winston is the opposing defenses with simple defensive schemes and then they just wait for the over/under throw or the all to often who the heck was that throw to that hits a defender in the chest. Without a buc player in the vicinity. You see it just can’t admit you we’re wrong about Jamies I would love for him to be great and succeed and lead us to the playoffs for many years. But after 4 years we all know what you are trying so hard to deny. He just isn’t that good

  15. DB55 Says:

I’d like to go to your job and tap you on your head while you’re working to see if you make mistakes.

Winston is getting destroyed behind this line. And he’s still making plays I don’t see anyone else making except Wilson and Watson.

You guys want him to win games but he needs a better team around him. I think BA has said the same thing on several occasions.

  16. DB55 Says:

For once in my life I agree with Mike Johnson.

  17. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Rest of the NFL wondering why we let him go???? This stupidarse move will go down in the annals of Buccanner Cove, along with Doug Williams, Bo Jackson, Steve Young, Michael Bennett, John Lynch, Matt Bryant, Aqib Talib, etc…..But we KEEP Winston!!! UGH!!!!!!

  18. JAB83 Says:

    @Joe

Has anyone pondered the hit to the head that Kwon delivered to JW was in fact part of the cause of JWs poor game?

Just curious because it seems like it would be a reasonable (excuse) explanation as to why JW struggled.

If indeed this had an effect. I suspect he will struggle in Carolina.

    Just a thought!

    What say you sir?

  19. Player 1 Says:

Watched GMC play yesterday. He got contained many times facing only one blocker. He also got fooled by the screen play just about every time. If you look late in the game, the Rams kept running right at him, or the empty spot where he used to be with fairly regular success for decent gains. Funny though, the few(er) plays that went toward the other side of the Carolina defensive line were mostly stopped at or behind the line.

  20. firethecannons Says:

Not likely to win against the Panthers, we will look very bad again, Winston will throw more piks, even if he doesn’t–we cant sign this guy up for more years, trade him before the final trade date for picks and start scouting.we already know what we have and he is not taking us to the playoffs or a superbowl ever. Face reality, we cannot afford his future contract anyway.

  21. ElioT Says:

Suh had 4 tackles including a TFL in his debut.

Suh flashed more in one game than I’ve seen the old #93 flash in years.

McCoy is a bum and if he shows up for the first time in a long time on Thursday night, that’s even more of an indictment on this pu**y.

Screw McCoy and all his fan boys. He sucks!

  22. DooshLaRue Says:

I certainly can’t be the only one who likes Kwon just a little bit more today.
If only he could have hit him a little harder………

  23. sincethebeginning Says:

…and here it comes, all the stories about the old flame and what he’s doing now. I can’t wait. At least it’s a short week. For that 5h!t.

Joe if you happen to travel to the game I hope you’ll at least remember to keep that reunion classy. Give him an action figure from the new Joker movie or something. That way he’ll know you still love him.

GO BUCS!!! Beat the Carolina Kitties and SCREW the man replaced by SUH.

  24. Ed Says:

The Rams ran at McCoy with Todd Gurley who was ripping off 5-10 yard runs on the gap McCoy couldn’t contain. I saw him knocked sideways on several Gurley gains. His speed doesn’t help playing against a good running team. I just hope that Jones can keep improving, he was a beast yesterday which is something nice to watch. McCaffrey is the real deal, he is easily the best everydown back in the NFL nowadays. Without him the Panthers’ offense would be worse than Bucs.

  25. Tnoles Says:

Bucs offered him a pay cut and he refused it. And isn’t he making less now with the Panthers? Anyway that doesn’t matter I mean the only people who care about these dudes who are such great quotes in the locker room is that ultimately we the fans cheer for the name on the front of the Jersey more than the name on the back of the Jersey. We want wins and a dominant defense I don’t care who it is just win

  26. Tnoles Says:

I meant to say it’s the media who cares about him than the fans if you ask me

  27. Clw JB Says:

It is going to take a miracle to even be competitive as horrible as the O and ST looked yesterday

GMC should be the least of his concerns…

The Panthers are licking their chops right now, rightfully so…

  28. tmaxcon Says:

Two things you can gurantee that will happen Thursday night… first is that cancer93 will cry and second Kellen Winslow will jerk chicken…..now the question is will they be together…. crying and jerking

  29. Bucsace Says:

Pay attention after Thursday night’s game…..Jameis will meet up with McCoy and wrap him up in a big, sweet, bear hug, and tell him how much the team misses him. I think I see why Jameis admires him so much, he managed to make the maximum amount of money in Tampa, and put out the minimum amount of effort to get it.

  30. tmaxcon Says:

Cancer93 has been a rotational back up his entire career only low standard bucfan ever thought he was great. He was the team camera hound . His probowls were based on camera time not on field accomplishments.

  31. tmaxcon Says:

    firethecannons

Please accept my apologies for my racy post above. Was not trying to offend the ladies

  32. BigMacAttack Says:

GMC tore his left bicep eating a hotdog in practice today

  33. BigMacAttack Says:

The Panthers sucked yesterday. Atlanta wasn’t any better

  34. View from 132 Says:

That was a great line. If we don’t have a great team, at least more McKay era one liners please.

  35. JimbobBucsFan Says:

Looks like the tough NFC South starts the season 0-4 against the rest of the NFL.

For me this first week is a somewhat meaningless outcome to predict how this year will look at the end of December for the Bucs and all of their opponents in the division.

  36. PhillyBuc Says:

ElioT, well said. Suh made more plays in one game than GMC would make in 4. If he shows up against the Bucs it’s more of indictment of his “want to.” He’s a bum and had no impact giant the Rams. If he’s ever considered for the Ring of Honor I will burn my Bucs allegiance.

  37. adam from ny Says:

  38. lambchop Says:

    @DB55,

Colts still own Luck’s rights if he returns. They can trade him to whomever. But, that dude is done. He’s smart enough to get out after winning comeback player of the year to not tarnish his hype. Suck for Luck turned into Sucks for Luck.
