“Hats Off To Chris Godwin Who Played Hurt And Played Great”

September 29th, 2019

Monster

Bucco Bruce Arians wasted no time telling fans after the game that Chris Godwin’s massive performance today was delivered by an injured player.

Godwin missed most of practice last week with a hip injury and Arians, at times, had called him a game-time decision.

The Bucs’ third-year stud receiver was much more than that. The Rams had no answer for Godwin, who racked up 12 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He is now on pace for 104 receptions for 1,544 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. Those are not typos.

“Hats off to Chris Godwin who played hurt and played great,” Arians said in his postgame Buccaneers Radio interview.

Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, said the Rams plan to double team Mike Evans backfired. “Chris finds a way to get open,” Godwin said.

The offense rolled up 48 points and the Bucs needed every one of them.

Joe is fired up. Is there any reason the Bucs can’t put up close to this kind of offense every week?

The offensive line was fantastic today!

I drove up with my dad. What a game to go to. Godwin was a monster. Defense played really well and consistently generated pressure. Yeah the secondary gives up a lot but it’s also the Rams with one of the better offenses in the game

  4. TampaBay AllDay Says:

    He’s a mf beast

  5. Jean Lafitte Says:

    Jameis helped his Oline today

  6. Bosch Says:

    Expect much more of this,

  7. AwShbucs Says:

Godwin had a monster day. Kid is so damn good its ridiculous.

And Jameis is really coming alive within this offense. If we can keep it up and trade for Jalen Ramsey to fix the defense, we could make some noise this year.

  8. DB55 Says:

Yea but if not for mike Evans huge wingspan jameis would be nothing.

Manzel is better than the ignant thug Winston.

  9. Bobby M. Says:

Godwin is the real deal and the perfect possession receiver for Winston. Trade Evans for whatever is needed to get Ramsey. Evans is phenomenal but he’s not the right fit for Winston. Winston gets in too much trouble trying to work the ball down field to Evans. With Godwin, Brate, Howard, Rojo….and our defense, we have enough. Our biggest weakness is our secondary, turnovers by Winston and our kicker.

Evans played w a hurt hand and caught a bomb from Fitzmagic. DeSean would have taken 4 games off.

This dude was a warrior today. I could see over the TV he was ailing and loved the effort. The screen he took for a TD showcased the type of football player I am proud to have in Tampa!!!! His block on the RoJo TD was absolutely not forgotten either.

This is my type of football player!!! Great game Chris!!!

    GOOO BUCS!!!!!

  13. DB55 Says:

Winston continues to. Real franchise records. Not saying much but still

With you Joe I am fired up as well. Before this game I had NO FAITH in this team. But this just proves the NFL is a week to week league. Heck I was in full Tank for Tua mode after week 1.

  15. reply Says:

Jamies is earning my trust back slowly. Keep it up Jaboo and I am all in for him getting PAID! But btw SHAQ should be PAID right friggin NOW!

  16. Cgmaster27 Says:

Chris godwin was fantastic today. Hes probably one of the most physical receivers ive ever seen. Perfect compliment to big mike. And bobby, ttafing big mike would be one of the dumbest moves of all time. Hes not going anywhere.

  17. reply Says:

Also another big up to Alex Cappa! He did well along with the entire OLINE!! #GoBucs Aaron Donald was a total non factor.

  18. Dano Says:

I gotta get me a Godwin jersey ASAP!

  19. Joe in Michigan Says:

A 3rd Round steal!! Guess who drafted Godwin? The man most Bucs “fans” love to hate.

  20. Howard Cosell Says:

He reminds Howard of Jerry Rice

  21. ModHairKen Says:

Sign him now to a long term contract.

  22. Bob in Valrico Says:

Godwin has great instincts and he has the abilty to give any defender a major headache.

  23. Bobby Says:

Ahh yes. Chris Godwin. Been talking about him since we drafted him. He’s everything I knew he’d be. Hope he can stay healthy. Can’t believe somebody said trade Evans. Hey, maybe we should trade Steve Young too. Oh wait….we did that.

  24. Buccfan37 Says:

Nice win by our Bucs that many including myself did not expect. Beating last year’s NFC champs who were undefeated in their stadium is over the top with satisfaction.

  25. unbelievable Says:

Godwin is a perfect example of how all receiver should play.

Tough as nails, fights through and breaks tackles, blocks defenders when other guys have the ball.

STUD. Loved that pick at the time and he just continue to impress!
