Bucs Got “Worked”

September 22nd, 2019

Blind analysis.

Nothing like a little box score-reading to fool the foolish.

Joe has a hunch this dude doesn’t work in Vegas for any sportsbook.

Jonathan Jones, an otherwise fine writer for theMMQB.com, decided to type a guide to gambling for today’s games. And he believes it is wise to lay cash on the Giants and rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who is making his NFL debut, because the Bucs got “worked” in the season opener against the 49ers.

No, this isn’t just because of the hype around Young Daniel usurping the throne. This is based solely on what Jones showed in preseason action and the Giants’ opponent this week. In the exhibition games, Jones was an 85% passer with a 137.3 quarterback rating; meanwhile, the Bucs got worked by the 49ers in the Week 1 and took advantage of a hobbled Cam Newton last Thursday. Jameis Winston is 13-16 all-time at Raymond James Stadium, so Tampa Bay is not a world-beater. Plus, I have a feeling Giants players are going to have a boost in their play now that the more talented quarterback they witnessed first-hand for six weeks is now taking over their 0-2 squad.

Yeah, in the box score, it sure looked like the Bucs got “worked” by two touchdowns. But those two touchdowns were because America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, played Santa Claus throwing two pick-sixes.

Those watching the game will noticed the Bucs gave up just one offensive touchdown to the 49ers.

But this is what most outside the Tampa Bay area think of the Bucs. This team has been among the dregs of the NFL for so long that few give the team the benefit of the doubt. And to be honest, why should they?

Joe just has a hunch that if you follow Jones’ gambling advice, the only thing that is going to get “worked” is your wallet.

The more talented QB they watched for six weeks? Really?! This guy is a joke! Manning has a couple of rings. Not only does this guy no nothing about Tampa Bay, but it seems he knows little about the giants too.

Giants going to attack both edges. Going to move DJ on rollout. Misdirection and quick throws. Minter going to be seasick

Y’all see McCoy got fined for shoving Jensen’s face mask? lol

  4. DooshLaRue Says:

We’ll know a lot more about our team late this evening.
I expect JW to sh!t the bed, but hope I’m wrong for my teams’ sake.
    We shall see.

    Go Bucs!

  5. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @unimpressed

That is funny!!! Speaking of this used to be right around the time of year Joe would write and tell stories of what a warrior She-mc is, because She-mc would have to crawl around the locker room on one arm, and how She-mc would have to have help putting on her panties after being so beat up after all the zero production games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. ArgYeMaties Says:

Another typical dumba*s that’s hasn’t watched, or listened to, the Bucs this season.

    It’s game day #GoBucs

  7. Pewter power Says:

Not sure what people were watching against the Panthers but Cam was not hobbled until the ends of the game. He’s not the most accurate quarterback to begin with but all the focus was on his bad throws but dude made a lot of great plays and throws which included him scrambling to escape pressure. Meanwhile even Joe said it wad a bad game. Uh no Cleveland vs jets was a bad game, week 1 packers vs bears wad horrible, eagles falcons was bad, no this was a hard fought division matchup

Dont like VH3 getting credit for a good game either because of the last tackle, dude had 12 tackles because he got picked on all game. Week 4 the corners will get exposed for sure

Hoping Buc’s fans don’t need to use the “safe word” this afternoon…

  9. DooshLaRue Says:

What’s the over/under on how many times Hot Rod Muncher uses the following words during the game today?

    Triggered

    Anywho

    Idiots

  10. Tackleblockwin Says:

If you just look at the box score of the 49ers game then most would think the D played poorly. Not the case though. Maybe only Bucs fans should be allowed to talk about the Bucs lol. National media has no clue and usually puts minimal effort into their evaluations.

  11. Kgh4life Says:

This game also has me worried. Not because i don’t think the Bucs defense can’t keep the Giants offense in check, it’s the the fact that i can’t trust Jameis Winston, he’s just not consistent from week to week. If Jameis plays like he did in week one the Bucs should definitely move on to Griffin.

  12. Ben real Says:

Who cares about McCoy and his fine … that weeks over

  13. Ben real Says:

I’ve said it before … jameis is inconsistent… he’s shown it year after year… prove me wrong Winston … if history has its way we will get the bad jameis today

Tmax…this why many fans LOVE Dungy. People remember how terrible the team was before Dungy. Like the same way the team is now. No respect. Even under Sam Wyche.

I got picked on all the time in high school for being a Bucs fan. Before Dungy that is. I get picked on all the time now by family members and co-wrokers for being a Bucs fan.

If Arians changes all that….I love that guy too!

  15. Buc1987 Says:

Kgh4life..14 MORE games to go for Jameis Winston.

    No matter what!

  16. 1sparkybuc Says:

I can’t win no matter how this game works out. My wife is a fan of the Giants since her birth in NYC. I’ve been a fan of the Bucs since their birth. Today will be tough, but she’ll get over it in a month or two. GO BUCS

He had over 300 yard passing, didn’t he? Not too shabby.

  20. BucTooth Says:

Bad vibes i smell a TRAP GAME today against the NY Giants God i hope i’m wrong.

  21. 2002WasALongTimeAgo Says:

One of the other NY writers pointed out that Winston is 7-17 since the start of 2017, with 4 games having 3+ INT’s. It’s up to Jameis to change that…

  22. MadMax Says:

If the good Jameis shows up, we win easy, by 2 td’s…..and i think the D will keep Saquon under 100 yards….if we can contain Saquon, game over baby!

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I would agree the Bucs offense was horrible in game one. The rest of the team played well considering it was the first game played all three units.

However, this chump is purposely setting aside game two, where the Bucs showed a huge step forward over game one.

I don’t know if we’ll win today or not. I hope we do, but I don’t know. We’re .500 when it comes down to it, with a horrible game and a good game behind us. We still need to see consistency.

But even if we win this game, the national media will blame the giants for losing, and will give the Bucs zero credit. As frustrating as it is for us fans, it also causes the team to be underestimated going forward.

  24. WestChap Says:

National media were all on the Bucs bandwagon 2 years ago but the D’s consistency (horrid play and Smitty futility) and JW’s inconsistency have washed all that good will away. BA and Bowles appear to have fixed the D… JW is at 1-1… the ball is in Jameis’ hands to right the ship in the eyes of the national media. Go Bucs!

  25. WestChap Says:

Watched Jags-Titans and it was sooo obvious the better QB on that field that day was Minshew not Mariota. Mariota looks on track to be benched soon. With all the NY media watching, today’s game will shape JW’s narrative for this season and beyond. This would be a very good game to ball out if JW wants to erase a few bad memories from last year’s debacle of a season.

  26. Hodad Says:

If Winston plays like the rookie, and Jones plays like the 5th year vet we’ll have our answer to the Jameis Winston franchise QB debate. The good news is next years draft is loaded with talented QB’s that have looked better then Jameis already. Not to mention they can be had for a rookie contract. Winston better come out, and ball today, no more excuses. Playing a bad defense, rookie QB, at home, we better shine, especially JW, his career is on the line.

  27. Couch Fan Says:

I will say this, the Bucs of old would let a rookie QB throw 6 TDs against them. If they want respect they need to start by destroying this rookie QB. GO BUCS!!

  28. Darin Says:

Gota love winning money from ignorant gamblers

  29. BigMacAttack Says:

Buc defense has given up 1 TD and 6 FGs in 8 1/4’s of play. 1 Fg was because of a blocked punt already in range. VH3 had a pick 6. They’ve made goal line stops, 4’th down stops, given up 137 yards rushing with McCaff being shut down. This idiot hasn’t watched a single play in Tampa so far.

  30. BigMacAttack Says:

In 2018’ during the first 2 games, Buc defense gave up 8 TDS, but 5 of them were by the Saints. #Brees
