Gameday Tampa Bay

August 16th, 2019

Preseason Game 2

Dolphins at Bucs

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

TV: WFLA-TV Channel 8. Game will also be rebroadcast on NFL Network Saturday morning at 7 a.m.

DirecTV Customers And Cordcutters: DirecTV and Nexstar, owner of WFLA-TV, are in a contract hassle and the Tampa Bay area rightsholder to locally-produced Bucs preseason TV games is blacked out on DirecTV. However, Bucs fans in select Florida and Alabama TV markets, including the Tampa Bay region, can watch the game streamed free on Buccaneers.com and via the Bucs’ official app. Click here for more details.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (WXTB-FM 97.9 in the Tampa-St.Petersburg region; 97.9 FM ESPN Radio in Tallahassee); Spanish language broadcasts on WTMP-FM 96.1 and WMGG-AM 1470 in Tampa; SiriusXM Channel 226.

Weather: Simply put, if you like it wet, this game is for you. Per AccuWeather.com, it is going to rain all afternoon and through kickoff where it is expected to be 80 degrees. The rain may stop in the second half but will likely resume near the end of the game where temperatures will be in the high-70s. Bring your scuba gear.

Odds: Per the Mirage in Las Vegas, Bucs -2.5; O/U 42.5.

Outlook: Joe will keep this brief (for a couple of reasons). It is the preseason. A preseason game is little more than a glorified scrimmage, especially in the rain. Joe would like to see the first-team offense be as crisp as it was in Pittsburgh last week. Other than that, hopefully the running backs continue to impress. Defensively, the reserve safeties need to step up since that position has been battered by injuries. Hopefully Sean Murphy-Bunting will be at the game and it sure would help Jamel Dean can look like a high draft pick..

Most importantly for the Bucs, stay healthy!

Yeah saw that Doctor Berto. That sucks. Out “indefinitely”

Looking forward to seeing what emerges between Mike Edwards / Jordan WHitehead / Justin Evans. Looking forward to this secondary in general. Time to somebody to freaking establish themselves.

    GO BUCS!

  9. Greg Says:

What the hell does Derwin James have to do with anything on this site? Let’s get in the game people!

  10. BucfaninBorinquen Says:

    Can someone please LIVE STREAM?!

  11. Doctor_berto Says:

Derwin James has a lot to do with this site. Have you not seen all the Derwin comments when Vea got injured. Get your head out of your ass.

  12. StonedBuc Says:

Bucs need to get some turnovers tonight.

  13. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Derwin James has Nothing to do with this site… he was only a possible draft project that the Bucs passed on… only a handful of deranged folks even give him a second thought

  14. Sydney Says:

The second preseason game with a bad team against a horrible team played in heavy showers.

The only thing that can happen is more injuries.

Too bad it’s not possible forfeit this pointless exercise.

  15. geno711 Says:

For all the Derwin James fans. He has stress fracture of the 5th metatarsal of the right foot. Sometimes called a Jones fracture. Wide receivers who have had the injury include Dez Bryant, Julian Edelman, and Sammy Watkins. Might do a compression fix with screws. Expect him to miss at least a half of the season.

  16. NOSBOS Says:

All you f$%&ing lames and got whack @$$ karma everyday mentioning that man’s name and he remotely concerned with Tampa. Now Derwin injured.

I just rewatched for probably the 50th time, Bucs vs Eagles 2002 NFCCG. Wow. Our defense was just nasty. Early in the game with the score close, the Eagles are at their 45, 3rd and 9 and they ran the ball and got stuffed. They ran the ball! Nobody wanted to throw on this team. My boy Joe Jurevicious had a nasty 71 yard catch and run that changed the momentum in that game. We finished that drive on an Alstott TD and took the lead 17-10 and never looked back. Sapp, as always, backed up his talk with a motor that just never stopped. Why am I bringing this up? I have no idea, but I hope our defense restores itself to relevance.

Here in WI DirecTv is showing the Bucs-Dolphins on NFLN Channel 212-1. It’s the first time I’ve seen that so I’m hoping and thinking I can see it.

  21. Todd Says:

With this nasty weather producing a nasty field, I wish BA & TB made the decision to bench all our key players for tonight. Who cares?! With all the injuries we’ve witnessed over the past 24-hours…sh!t…if we simply STAY HEALTHY we’re ahead of the game.

Have ‘em ride the pine. Heck, they can BE the pine over at Mons Venus if they wish. Jason Licht should fund the singles.

  22. Ptwalk Says:

@Kobe Faker the fake Bucs fan. Why don’t you pick another team

  23. mark2001 Says:
