Bucs-Dolphins, Open Thread

August 16th, 2019

Comment all game long about this riveting preseason matchup in the comments section below.

It’s great fun! Play nice. No personal fouls. Of course, Joe will have plenty to type about after the Bucs face what might be the worst roster in the NFL.

Go Bucs!

Let’s see some positives this game… ahhhh f$&k it come on September

  2. Rod Munch Says:

No lightning around so hopefully the sissies at the NFL won’t delay the game.

  3. gobuxfla Says:

I really want to watch the 2nds and 3rds tonight. And please, no, no injuries to starters or possible starters. We need a healthy end to our preseason.

  4. SB Says:

@TBBF……….Trip was pretty good ‘cept for gridlocks in KC and Chattanooga. The Georgia part of the trip was not exactly awesome and with this chitty rain we are getting this is starting off slow. Gonna be here for at least another week so we will see. 🙂

  5. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Just want to get out of here without more injuries. I’m not even going to flip out about Jay Miss tonight.

  6. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Looks like the number of fans in the stands are in mid season form….

  7. Rod Munch Says:

If Ronald is returning kicks, it means they don’t see him as a starter anytime soon.

  8. Rod Munch Says:

Man, what a nice play by Winston there getting out of pressure, he does that as good as anyone in the NFL.

  9. Pittsshore Says:

Throw it away dummy. That is just like a turnover. We had 3 points. Net 10 yards after the punt.

  10. Ben real Says:

    Donovan Smith sucks

  11. Ben real Says:

Back to back plays he gets thrown like a doll … overpaid garbage

  12. Rod Munch Says:

So really bad blocking on that drive, they let Jameis get killed twice where he had no chance, and Winston turned one of those into a 1st down.

Also why wouldn’t Bruce kick a super long FG there, why not? It’s preseason, lets see this Gay kicker try a 60 yarder in the rain. If he misses it, who cares, if he makes it, wow.

  13. Rayjay1122 Says:

That was Dotson not bothering to block.

  14. JimmyJack Says:

Blitz pickup was atrocious but I am loving the quicker releases to this offense.

This offense is going to help Winston elevate to the next level.

  15. Fire the fans Says:

Pitt the nurses should’ve thrown you away

  16. Figures Says:

Most of the o line sucks.

People like to sugarcoat it but all but one maybe 2 suck

  17. ariel davila Says:

    live stream failed again!

  18. Ben real Says:

    Lol Rod

  19. Anonymous Says:

I like how ppl are calling jameis dumb for not throwing it away but to be honest it’s hard to do anything when you have d linemen coming unblocked as soon as you hiked the ball

  20. JohnnyU Says:

@Pittsshore.. If Winston throws that ball up for grabs and its picked we know you alt-right idiots would be carrying your ticky torches just like i charolettesiville

  21. Buc4evr Says:

Yeah our RT is old and slow. Geez sad.

  22. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod Munch, I noticed a white guy playing left tackle on the first breakdown. Any idea who it was?

Smith was back in for the next couple plays. I didn’t see if he was out on the second breakdown.

If they are already substituting, then the dolphins are choosing then to blitz.

  23. Rod Munch Says:

On that first drive through Jameis looked great, was sharp, put the ball where it should be, under pressure he didn’t make any mistakes. Lets see what he can do on drive two, hopefully the line shows up.

  24. SteveK Says:

I hope the starters get one more series.

  25. Ben real Says:

Lol defense not hitting the line full speed … 4th down because the receiver can’t catch

  26. DB55 Says:

Dotson is going to get someone hurt. Coach needs to do something NOW!!!

  27. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – I was trying to see who was on the line in that series, but the feed is a little low res – or rain is on the lens because I couldn’t read the numbers.

  28. Ben real Says:

Everyone watch Donovan Smith … my gawd …. he is so overpaid

  29. Pittsshore Says:

Let’s hope Apples McGoo gets another chance.

  30. JimmyJack Says:

Rod Munch reguarding RoJo on kickoffs you might be thinking too much on that. It could just be a tool to help him get into the flow of the game.

I’m sure somebody will pick up on it and ask Bruce after game. Interested to hear what he says.

  31. SteveK Says:

    Rod Munch,

Jameis was “ok” not great. Missed a wide ass open Evans on the first play!

Took a sack and maybe could’ve gotten rid of it? Not his fault though. He shook the first guy and the second guy got him.

How are we the only team in the NFL to have 3 OL paid $10 million+ salaries and we can’t edging block?

  32. Figures Says:

    One series?

    Geez thanks.

  33. Rod Munch Says:

    Jesus Christ, one series…

I guess they don’t want Winston getting killed by the o-line.

  34. Dom>Licht Says:

OL in 2nd round sure would have been nice!

  35. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Pretty clear Donovan Smith resigning was a huge mistake. He gives up on a block so fast. That last sack he should have buried his guy, if he was any good.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

    Boooooo entire 1st team out.

  37. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod Munch, it was number 64. Cole Boozer. Smith only played 3-4 plays on the series. So Arians wasn’t joking about the starters barely playing, lol.

  38. Rod Munch Says:

SteveK – First pass looked like Evans slipped to me, but maybe he missed it.

On the sack he had the guy holding his foot and another guy coming in – if he tries to force the ball there and something happens, then he’s an idiot. Even if nothing happens it’s a flag for intentional grounding. There’s nothing he can do on that play.

  39. Figures Says:

    Johnny u

Man you are one dumb mother fuc ker.

    What a terrible reference.
You are as smart as a wet paper bag full of sh it.

You smell like food stamps and unemployment

    Stupid fu ck.

I’d like to smack you right in your di ck suc ker.

  40. Anonymous Says:

Coach Arians said they would not play because they worked with Miami all week in practice. I don’t blame him why would I work my starters in a pre-season rain game?

  41. Ljsolutions Says:

What the what! Are they trying to hide something. I would think a brand new office would take a little work to implement.

  42. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – I don’t know of any current teams that are having a guy they see as their top back returning kicks. I mean perhaps, but I don’t really see that. I think Barber is still solidly the top guy – which is fine for now.

  43. StonedBuc Says:

Line looks solid. Winston needs to check slide protections and get rid of the ball faster. Glad rosen isnt our qb…

  44. JimmyJack Says:

Steve K Winston had a guy immediatly in his face on 1st play. Over throwing a sideline route was the safe choice and not enough time to do anything much more.

  45. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    SteveK,

Mike Evans reaction seemed to indicate he did something wrong on that play. He was even hitting himself on the head.

On the sack, I don’t think Jameis really had time to get rid of the ball. They were hitting him quickly. Sometimes taking the sack is the safe thing to do.

  46. JimmyJack Says:

    I see it as a 1a 1b situation with Barber & Jones.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

Personal foul for hitting the guy too hard? Bunch of wimps.

  48. StonedBuc Says:

    Defense is flying.

  49. StonedBuc Says:

Yeah rod that buchanon shot was a horrible call

  50. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Yeah, I don’t disagree on 1a and 1b, I just mean I don’t think they see Ron as the top guy, meaning he’s not going to be getting a big workload. If they’re splitting carries, that would be the case.

  51. Eric Says:

Live steam on app is a piece of s–t

  52. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I agree Barber is the solid starter, barring preseason injury.

How long that lasts is the question. We might see a change by mid season, because the Bucs won’t be able to pay Barber next year if he does well.

  53. Rod Munch Says:

Arians needs to give a bionic elbow to these trash referees.

  54. JimmyJack Says:

Whitehead & Gholston showing up nicely today!!

Give this defense one more series. They need it. We need it.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs got lucky that the Dolphin receivers have butter fingers, but a stop is a stop. The defense is playing very vanilla, not a lot of blitzes or pressure, but again, I think it’s just because they’re not mixing it up much.

  56. Buc4life24 Says:

Damn app stream is terrible!! Ridiculous

  57. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

JimmyJack, I don’t think Gholston will be a starter in the regular season.

  58. Pete Mitchell Says:

I sure Bowles’ blitzes work in the regular season… we haven’t made a single play in the backfield… Miami was in jameis’ face almost every drop back.

  59. TonyC Says:

Wow first team offense looked average. I’m sensing another losing season on the way. I just want this guy Licht out of the picture.

  60. JimmyJack Says:

Bonzai. I agree with that sack play. Ronde said he should of got rid of it but I didn’t see that. Just didn’t have nearly the time to react to that sack.

  61. MadMax Says:

    Im liking Dare!!!!!

  62. Brad Says:

You guys think Rojo is hurt

  63. JimmyJack Says:

No Gholsyon won’t be a starter but he will be a rotational player and will be on the field and have a chance to make an impact.

  64. Kobe Faker Says:

    “New NFL normal

    runningbacks by committee

You need 2 duel threat run and receiving rbs

    workhorse/ Bellcow no more”

    Kobe Faker

  65. Figures Says:

    @tony

    Yes 6 wins max.
Defense is barely NFL level regardless of coach.
And offensive line is comprised of lazy slow old or backups

    So yea don’t expect much.

  66. Rod Munch Says:

Ouch, Bobo with the drop, yikes, that play might get him cut. I think he fills that Hump role perfectly, but man, that’s a bad drop.

  67. StonedBuc Says:

Nasty blitz by minter, holding on defense? That was lame, there wasnt enough time for a hold…

  68. Rod Munch Says:

The lack of meaningful replays by this God awful production team at WFLA is embarrassing.

  69. Figures Says:

Bobo the dumbo sucks as s.

Only FSU fans thinks he’s any good.

    Practice squad player at best.

Dude is straight trash. And there’s no debate about it.

  70. JimmyJack Says:

1st Teamers out………..Gash run given up & then spash play nullified by pentalty. I’m paying close attention to those pentalties tonight. I wanna see improvement from last week’s atrocity

  71. StonedBuc Says:

This game fee is horrible, wtsp is pure trash, half the time there is no sound and showing wierd camera shots of nothing. Idk how many times it has gone black?

  72. unbelievable Says:

    Kenny Stills sighting? LOL

  73. JimmyJack Says:

Figures you are the joke as a fan.

Your statements are ignorant at best. Always have been too.

  74. Rod Munch Says:

Holy Jesus, Ryan Smith made a play.

Oh wait, on the replay the WR just dropped the ball, never mind.

  75. Ndog Says:

Dude is straight trash. And there’s no debate about it.

Couldn’t care or less if Bobo is here or not but I find it funny that you rip Jameis for accuracy, which is complete crap, yet blame Bobo when the ball was clearly behind him and he would have run for days if the ball was out in front of him. Bias much?

  76. Kobe Faker Says:

“8 drafted cornerbacks and Ryan Griffen Smith is still our #1 corner

    help us”

    Kobe Faker

  77. Buc4evr Says:

Secondary looks pretty good, but second string D-line is what we thought it was- weak.

  78. Rod Munch Says:

Why would you want to watch Tim McGraw at 2pm in early Sept when you could be watching football?

It’s the dumbest promotion I’ve ever seen. It’s going to be 115 degrees or it’s going to be raining, and in any case it’s the first weekend of the season.

  79. Rod Munch Says:

This looks like every home preseason game in the rain.

  80. Figures Says:

I didn’t blame BOBO for anything I just stated that the dude sucks.

    @jimmyjack
What did I say that hurt your feelings snowflake?

    The o line sucks.
    Bobo sucks.
    6 wins.

    What about that is ignorant?

  81. MadMax Says:

    That o line….ugly!

  82. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m streaming through the Spectrum app, channel 8. No issues at all.

  83. Rod Munch Says:

Chris Meyers could be the lamest white guy on earth.

  84. Walkergodeep Says:

    Shaq Barret is playing

  85. Figures Says:

    @ndog
    @jimmyjack

I guarantee you both at the end of the season I’ll say “I told you so” about the win total.
And then both of you in all your glory WILL eat crow. Anyone with any common sense can tell this team is 6-7 win team. But both of you arm chair experts think you’re soooo smart but you’ll both end up looking like a couple of dumb shi ts.

  86. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod Munch, don’t worry. That game will be moved to San Fran because we’ll be under threat of a hurricane 😉

Billy Ray Cyrus has afree concert coming up at a beach…Bucs sponsored…as well.

  87. Figures Says:

Lmao I struck a nerve with FSU hom os.

    Lmao bunch of morons.

They didn’t like the bobo sucks reference. Lmao.

The IQ doesn’t run high with FSU fans. Nothing worse than someone thinking they’re smart but doesn’t realize how stupid they actually are.

  88. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Figure, we all know if you are wrong you won’t come around to eat crow anyway, lol.

  89. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – I don’t think we’ll get a hurricane this year, it’s been a very very slow season. But then again the media loves their fake news and loves to scare the hell out of people, so I could see a tropical depression form and the media play it up like a CAT4 hurricane and the NFL panicking like they do in the preseason when it’s lightning in Orlando and they delay the game in Tampa by 45 mins.

  90. StonedBuc Says:

    Bobo is fast zoom zoom

  91. Rod Munch Says:

Figures – Do the world a favor and hook up with your life partner TJmaxx and take a drive to the top of the Sky Way, then hold each others hands and take the leap. The world needs less miserable boring pricks in it.

  92. StonedBuc Says:

    Man gabbert is horrible.

  93. Rod Munch Says:

Tanner Hudson with a nice move there, that guy has to make the team.

  94. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rojo must be a lock for the #2 spot. They’re not putting him back in.

  95. Rod Munch Says:

Man, that offensive line is terrible.

  96. StonedBuc Says:

Tanner hudson is great depth. Need to trade brate and Peyton barber to dallas for zeke

  97. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    What was that??? Lol.

  98. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Oh yeah, Ronnie is #2 or 1a/1b – but I wonder if Ellington is a lock as #3 after that fumble earlier. That Ogg guy has looked solid, if he can catch, he might get that spot.

  99. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Santos time.

  100. Buc4evr Says:

Omg. Can’t believe I’m so happy to see a FG.

  101. Walkergodeep Says:

Justin Watson is trash Blaine gabbert just sack himself

  102. Rod Munch Says:

StonedBuc – If Dallas would take that trade, you make it in a second. Would need to cut JPP to make cap space, but he’s not playing this season anyways.

  103. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    That was a Gay kick.

  104. JimmyJack Says:

Get Ryan Griffen in the game. Very unimpressed by Gabberet. Honestly think Griffen is a better QB.

  105. Figures Says:

    @rod

Go cuddle with your boyfriend and STFU.

No one was talking to you.
Y’all all mad cause I said your boy bobo sucks which is true in any universe.
I said the o line sucks which is true in every way.
And I said 6-7 wins which again is spot on.

So go ride a banana and S……T…….F……..UP…….

  106. Natebucsfan Says:

Gay grabbed his knee after the kick. Did anyone see that. Hopefully its nothing.

  107. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Is it just me, or does anyone else prefer Griffin over Gabbert? Or someone entirely new?

  108. Figures Says:

    @bonzai

Oh don’t worry I won’t be wrong so no worries homeboy.

  109. Walkergodeep Says:

Figures shut up Geez bunch of grown men on the internet is crying and name calling I can tell you’re a punk in real life.

  110. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Matt Gay kicked off, so he can still kick. He did look like he was limping though.

  111. Rod Munch Says:

I don’t have faith in Griffin or Gabbert, if anything happens to Winston the season is over and this is a 2 win team, mainly because I think so little of those two.

  112. Ndog Says:

Griffin is sooooooo much better than Gabbert. It’s not even close.

  113. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Figures, that’s homer boy, not home boy 🙂 And proud of it.

  114. Rayjay1122 Says:

Yeah, I saw Gay grab his kicking leg knee also and after the kick off he was slightly limping but he did not look to be in too much pain.

  115. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

The air is half out of the whoopee cushion

  116. Rod Munch Says:

    Figures – LOL! Triggered.

  117. Defense Rules Says:

Even for preseason games this just set a new ‘boring record’. The first team showed me absolutely zero to start the game, and Gabbert & friends has taken it downhill from there. Hard to believe that these guys are actually fighting for jobs.

  118. Figures Says:

    @walkorgodeep

Well first of all I didn’t say a word to any of these idiots.
They started on me cause I struck a nerve saying bobo sucks.
So if you wanna start blaming someone don’t look at me fool.
Don’t trash talk me and then tell me to stop when I come back on you.
So you can stfu up too.

Oh and I promise I’m no punk in real life. I’m a big man boy.

  119. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs have to wrap up on these tackles.

  120. MadMax Says:

DEAN,……AHHHH! Tht shouldve been an easy INT!

  121. Figures Says:

    Rod

Haha haha I’m not triggered banana man.
You were obviously to say something to me when I wasn’t even talking to you.

    Btw: bobo sucks

  122. Rayjay1122 Says:

Boozer should be cut right after this game. He is awful.

  123. JimmyJack Says:

Griffen led us to a clutch FG in this same spot last week. Gabberet has just show us nothing all preseason.

  124. Rod Munch Says:

    Boozer is awful.

  125. MadMax Says:

God help us if we have to rely on 2nds/3rds on the O line!

  126. StonedBuc Says:

Damn how do you drop that pick. Gabbert is not an nfl qb, id much rather have landry jones or just about anyone. What happenes to nick Fitzgerald?

  127. TonyC Says:

Please put Griffin back in. He’s your number 2 wanko.

  128. Rod Munch Says:

Figures – OMG, you’re sooo triggered. I said something loving to you, something beautiful, something meaningful and you responded with hate.

I love you, I want you to be happy, I think you’d be happiest deep under water.

    God bless.

  129. Rod Munch Says:

StonedBuc – Nick Fitz is still hurt last I heard.

At this point I’d rather they sign Testaverde back – he can’t be worse than Gabbert.

And either Testerverder, the kid or his dad, I’d take Vinny at 55 years old over Gabbert.

  130. JimmyJack Says:

Boozer is at LT cause Benechot couldn’t handle it last week. Looks like it’s time for PlanC.

Something worth following this week. Who is taking snaps at LT on second team. Looks like we gotta make a move there.

  131. tickrdr Says:

    @Defense Rules:
    Exackalackally!

The good news is that after watching the Raiders last night, the Bucs can probably beat Arizona, which looks like the worst team in the league.

Does anyone know the exact Arians’ quote? Did he say he was ready to cut down to 60 players, or that he could cut 60 players right now? LOL

    tickrdr

  132. Figures Says:

    @rod

Yea I bet I know where your happy place is.
Definitely somewhere deep. And definitely with your boyfriend

  133. Walkergodeep Says:

Figures your calling yourself a “big man boy”

  134. DBS Says:

Griffen over Gabbert all day long.

  135. JimmyJack Says:

I had high hopes for Boozer just because he has an awesome jersey. The dream is dying before my eyes.

  136. Rod Munch Says:

Figures – Man, that’s a good comeback, are you a professional comedian or sumptin’?

  137. Figures Says:

Big man, boy. Are you illiterate?

  138. Firethecannons Says:

I don’t get the game on TV I can’t seem to get it on my computer I can’t even get the audio. I’m watching NFL game Center this sucks so bad. What the hell is wrong with Gabbert ? Somehow our defense is about to let these guys score a touchdown I hope BA unloads on our team

  139. Figures Says:

    Rod
Don’t worry I’m not going anywhere.

I’ll be here all season to point out how wrong you morons are.

    Btw: bobo sucks.
    6-7 wins.

  140. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs have to sign some offensive lineman once teams start cutting guys – or better, go trade for a swing tackle. Give up a 5th, you should get someone for that.

  141. Walkergodeep Says:

    Shaq almost got 3 sacks

  142. StonedBuc Says:

Gotchya, amd damn gabbert is painful to watch.

On another note our ends/olbs are looking fast but rosen has a good/quick release.

Our corners aremt really pressing, giving them to many clean releases. (As i type this bond gets the sack) speeeed

  143. StonedBuc Says:

Google buffstreams for a good stream

  144. Figures Says:

And to top it all off?

Worst jerseys in the whole da mn league

  145. StonedBuc Says:

Vita looking like uncle tito from rocket power

  146. StonedBuc Says:

Gay was just limping heavily into the locker room, or he got a pimp walk cause he knows the job is his?

  147. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

With Griffin in we should score a couple TDs.

  148. JimmyJack Says:

Figures has gone full blown troll and now all comments are not about football at all.

It’s painfully obvisous he came here just to get into a namecalling fight with us. Started by saying a few things bad about our team to get the ball rolling & now getting the exact results he wanted and getting to insult people on the internet.

In other news this game is showcasing how garbage preseason football is. S moth of games and we will see 1st team offense for roughly 2 quarters. Yuck

  149. Rod Munch Says:

Vita has quite the gut on him. I know he’s a big boy, maybe not a big man boy, but still, I thought he had trimmed down just a little.

If it doesn’t impact his play, then who cares, but Sapp continues to say you can’t be that big and fat and play in FL.

  150. MadMax Says:

google livetotal and figure it out from there….cant say much here

  151. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Vita Vea looked healthy to me.

  152. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Rod Munch Says:
“Sapp continues to say you can’t be that big and fat and play in FL.”

Wasn’t Fridge Perry a big guy? In fact, the names escape me right now, but I seem to recall there have been several elite DL players who were very big.

  153. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

JimmyJack, I still like four preseason games. I like watch depth play when it doesn’t count.

  154. Dom>Licht Says:

Greedy so far looks better than any of the DB we drafted… Greedy would have made that pick!

  155. Figures Says:

Lmao “our team” like I’m not a Bucs fan.

Haven’t missed one single game since 1987 lol.
Half of you probably weren’t even born yet.

But I choose to live in the land of reality unlike you daydreamers.
I used to be like you. Always hopeful always thinking this year they will turn the corner this year they’ll be good again just to be let down pissed off with the same ol same ol.

So until it actually changes I’m not gonna pretend like you all.

  156. JimmyJack Says:

Did we just watch Glain Babberett throw for less then 20 yard for nearly a entire half of football?

When did the 1990 Buc return? And who forgot to tell me?

  157. Figures Says:

    Btw
    Bobo sucks. (Talking football)
    O line sucks. (Football again)
    6-7 wins. (Yet again football)

    So wrong you are.

  158. JimmyJack Says:

So you used to not be somebody who came to websites with the intention of insulting people on the internet……..Strange, usually thats something you grow out of and not into.

  159. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Sapp was saying because of the heat and humidity in FL, you just can’t be that big and heavy, you’re going to get hurt, get gassed, etc. He said that last offseason, and so far he’s been right about injury. We shall see how he does, but two training camps in a row he’s out.

  160. Rod Munch Says:

You know in fairness to Vita, they showed him again from another angle and his gut didn’t look nearly as big. Maybe it was just a bad angle earlier.

  161. Figures Says:

    Jimmyjack

If you go back and look at the comments I didn’t call you or rod or whoever else a name until y’all started in on me. I was stating obvious facts about the team. (Didn’t say a word about Winston) not his fault the o line getting him killed but I digress.

I did call out that johnnyu guy though. Guilty there.

  162. JimmyJack Says:

Less pentalties tonight so far but two of them have been extremely costly.

  163. Rod Munch Says:

Poor Fitz playing with the 3rd teamers. Not sure why the Dolphins would be playing Fitz at this point, they know what he is.

  164. Rayjay1122 Says:

The special teams sans kicking have been a joke.

  165. Wesley Says:

    J.C. go to bed children.

  166. Rod Munch Says:

If RB OGG gets any type of space, he makes yards, he’s gonna be a tough cut.

  167. Fartman Says:

should we fire the ST coordinator now

  168. JimmyJack Says:

Figures my troll fighting days are mostly behind me. There’s still a few battles I will involve myself in and none of what you say are any of them……….Go find other posters who wamt to get into a namecalling contest with you(won’t be hard). I am not interested.

  169. Rod Munch Says:

What the F was that, there was no hold there. F-ing piece of s refs in regular season form.

  170. JimmyJack Says:

Still less pentalties but now 3 have nullified huge plays.

  171. Rayjay1122 Says:

Hopefully these guys are better insurance salesmen than they are football players.

  172. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Heh. Bruce Arians is calling those refs out! Lol

  173. Rod Munch Says:

The refs killed that drive on a complete BS call, awful job. Hopefully Arians doesn’t end up in the hospital on a preseason game.

In any case Ogunbowale has looked good, they should keep him and cut Ellington.

  174. JimmyJack Says:

At least it looks like less pentalties…….Rod cue up the stats. Ya know ya got em.

  175. Natebucsfan Says:

Looking for a vacuum to buy. Its between a Buccaneers brand or a Hoover. Which one has more sucking power.

  176. Rayjay1122 Says:

NFL officiating is disgraceful. The league has too much money to,keep having lawyers as part time officials. Enough is enough.

  177. Unimpressed Says:

I second the motion to cut Ellington and keep Ogunbowale

  178. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Rod Munch, I agree.

    Btw, more rain coming.

  179. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs are losing the penalty count 6-5…

But I’m sure the refs will take care of that shortly.

  180. DooshLaRue Says:

I’ll take Griffin over Gabbert going forward.
    Gabbert is garbage.
Griffin looks like he might be able to play.

  181. JimmyJack Says:

Yes Dare has earned a job over Ellington thus far. I will be upset if he should get snaps over Ellington next week. I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t…….Or maybe they will plan on keeping 4 RBs which then it won’t matter.

  182. Rod Munch Says:

There we go, right on cue.

  183. JimmyJack Says:

Rod you called it. Now that makes for the 4th pentalty to nullify a huge play.

Cannot win a NFL game that way.

  184. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Too many penalties on 3rd down plays…..needs to stop.

  185. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Figures, if you haven’t done the honorable thing and ended yourself and you’re still here, I will agree with you on the uniforms being awful. I hope they change that next offseason. Hopefully they got back to something orange, just bring back the original look, but the current look is God awful, just more trash by Nike.

  186. Rod Munch Says:

Man, the Dolphins need to get Fitz out of there. I’m not even a Fitz backer, but I feel bad for the guy. He’s 50 years old and they have him playing with third teamers, makes no sense.

  187. Rod Munch Says:

Did everyone pass out from boredom?

  188. JimmyJack Says:

Time to open up the playbook and give up a spark. Just one page.

  189. Rod Munch Says:

That was a really nice job of Griffin just stepping up and letting everyone run by him and making a good throw.

  190. JimmyJack Says:

I just got a crazy craving for ham.

  191. Rod Munch Says:

Ogu trips on his own feet or he gets a TD…

Surprised the refs didn’t call that back.

  192. Rod Munch Says:

Too many predictable runs up the middle, hopefully that’s just preseason dumbing down of the offense…

  193. Rod Munch Says:

Jesus, three calls up the middle in a row…

Is Clyde Christensen back calling plays?

  194. timbucs2 Says:

Who needs waterboarding when you have this game tape available?

  195. Rod Munch Says:

I really hope this goes to OT.

  196. JimmyJack Says:

Yeah not a fan of three straight gut runs there

  197. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

They did three runs last week with a different RB. They must be trying to find the right guy in those situations.

  198. Jeffbuc Says:

Anyone bucs app not letting them watch game any of the links to watch game do nothing don’t even act like you hit the button. Tried on my iPad and iPhone. Sorry if someone already posted this just did t see anything about from scrolling through 193 comments

  199. Rod Munch Says:

I think it was Dare last week too, but they were at the 3, not at the 6 – that’s a huge difference at the goal line area.

In any case not a fan of the call unless we’re getting Alstott out of retirement.

  200. Rod Munch Says:

I wonder if we’ll see two series of the Bucs first teamers next week…

  201. StonedBuc Says:

David kenney is faaaaast aroumd the corner. Our rushers are quick might end upmgetting burned on screens and draws… Also who ever thay dude 75 isnon the back up line he is a monster. Moving people.

  202. JimmyJack Says:

    Atta boy Dean!!!

  203. Rod Munch Says:

    Nice play by Dean!

Griffin can now take us down field for the winning drive, or we can go to OT!

  204. StonedBuc Says:

There we go dean! Needs to squeeze the ball tho, almost dropped that one.

  205. StonedBuc Says:

These player of the game choices lol if dean didnt just make that pick would he have been on the list? Any of our guys get multiple sacks?

  206. Rod Munch Says:

Not much stuff out there on Kenney, he hadn’t played football since 2015 and made the preseason roster based on a tryout practice. Interesting, I had never heard of him and didn’t notice him last week.

  207. JimmyJack Says:

We have an Olineman named Ruble? With that last name he has to be a destined 🌟

  208. Rod Munch Says:

#83 with no catches this week – I thought they might try to get him more involved this week. I wonder if they’re going to try to hide him for the PS, but outside of his punt returns I haven’t noticed him tonight.

  209. JimmyJack Says:

Watson is playing in the 4th quarter and that’s not a good sign. He has dropped two TDs in two weeks.

He is officially a bubble player at this point.

  210. Rod Munch Says:

    YES! PI review call!

Bucs will obviously lose this, because it’s the Bucs way to lose replay calls.

Although it is preseason, so they might give the Bucs a meaningless call.

  211. StonedBuc Says:

Man justin watson is not good at 50/50 balls. Dude gets nerves and drops them damn things. That was not defensive PI… Catch the ball. Yoir 6 foot 3 230. Going up against a small corner. Out muscle him

  212. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Yeah, I thought Watson was the solid #4.

If he’s not the #4, then who is?

  213. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, really? I didn’t think that was PI. If that’s PI in the regular season, ugh.

  214. StonedBuc Says:

That was an obvious offensive PI lol

  215. JimmyJack Says:

Yes that’s a ugly ugly rule Rod……..And I don’t know who our #4 WR is but there’s no way Watson has that spot locked down. He looks bad.

  216. Rod Munch Says:

My guy to watch last week, Tanner Hudson, with the TD! There’s just no way they don’t keep him, he just catches everything. From what I heard in camp they compare him to Brate, in that he’s limited physically, but just get the ball to him and he catches it even if a guy is hanging on him.

  217. JimmyJack Says:

If thats PI we will see PIs at least double this year. And teams better start chucking the ball all day if they can get freebes like that.

  218. Rod Munch Says:

StonedBuc – I’m like winning the call, but that looked like some offsetting PI to me. If they call that kind of stuff in the regular season, the Bucs are going to lose some games to it, and of course when it matters the Bucs won’t get any of those calls.

  219. Rod Munch Says:

Dolphins are punting it here? Why? It’s preseason, go for it. Bucs will just run out the clock now. I wanted to see some OT play.

  220. JimmyJack Says:

Yes Rod good call on Hudson. If the guy hasn’t earned himself a job it will be a basic endictment on our coaching staff/front office.

  221. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – I think they keep four TE’s, so I don’t think he’s in much danger of not making the team, but I’ve heard others insist they only keep 3 TEs. I don’t see it since they start a 2 TE set as their base, which means you need more TEs than most teams.

  222. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

I like Hudson but man these refs like to throw the flags! Go Bucs!

  223. Rod Munch Says:

The guys were celebrating the sack instead of getting back into position and weren’t set, gave the Dolphins an easy first down.

  224. BucsBandit Says:

WINSTON = HALL OF FAME LOCK

  225. Rod Munch Says:

At least these preseason games have had exciting endings.

    By preseason standards anyways.

  226. Rod Munch Says:

Alright, 34 seconds, get the ball to midfield and the Gay kicker hit a 65 yarder to win the game.

  227. Buddy Says:

    HAHAHAAHA thats Biuc football

  228. Rod Munch Says:

Come on Griffin, you light it up against these 4th stringers…

  229. Rod Munch Says:

Damn, Hudson Tanner with another catch, wow…

  230. JimmyJack Says:

Tanner Hudson is freaking clutch………Clutch kicker to boot.

  231. BucsBandit Says:

I THINK WE HAVE OURSELVES A KICKER!

  232. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, Gay with the first game winning kick of his life!

  233. MadMax Says:

God its so nice to finally have a kicker….and another great TE!

  234. JimmyJack Says:

Buddy………Let me guess your gone now. Aren’t so funny for you now is it?

  235. Rod Munch Says:

What, the p-word Dolphins take a knee to end the game? What cowards.

  236. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Hot damn Hudson, Gay we won a game!

  237. MadMax Says:

Drop a WR…..keep an extra TE, Hudson!

  238. Rayjay1122 Says:

Hudson has to make the final 53.

  239. JimmyJack Says:

Overlooked will be that Ryan Griffen is our best candidate for backup QB……….3 clutch drives in two weeks. Glain Babberett had a chance run off some points to end the half and his offense went backwards.

And I don’t wanna hear about third stringers this or that. You cannot coach or teach clutch.

  240. Firethecannons Says:

Wtf. We got a kicker. !!! Wow!! And we got a damn good backup tight end!

  241. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – I don’t disagree with you on Gabbert, he’s terrible – I’m not a big fan of Griffin because I don’t think he can do anything against a starting defense, but he’s better than Gabbert.

  242. DBS Says:

What more does Griffen have to prove? The only other way he can is as a backup. He has earned the chance.

  243. JimmyJack Says:

I will take Hudson over Auclair thank you very much. Auclair has never impressed me. He took back any blocking prowless he had last year with holding calls.

  244. JimmyJack Says:

Rod yes Griffen has never been tested. But I personally would be willing to find out what Griffen could do against a real defense & could honestly believe it would be more then Blain which isn’t much.

  245. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Nobody knows what he can do against a starting defense dumb a@@!!! You must be a rocket scientist….

  246. Bucfan1988 Says:

RYAN GRIFFIN as backup QB!!! VERY SIMPLE!!! Blaine Gabbert is garbage!!!!!
Griffin’s poise and accuracy in the pocket can not be matched!!!

Drop Gabbert!! Get Er Done BA!!!

  247. JimmyJack Says:

Honestly I don’t see why Griffen can’t take Blain’s reps next week and work with the twos…….It won’t guage whether he can perform against starters but will guage whether he can do more then Blain.

And I get it if they wanna keep Blain because what he may bring to the lockerroom but the backup position is too important and if you gotta keep 3 to have Ryan be your backup that’s what you gotta do. QB is just too important of a position. Warrants a extra roster spot if needed.

  248. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Tom Brady had not been tested when he took over for Bledsoe. The rest is history.

  249. Rod Munch Says:

Griffin lacks any zip on his balls, that’s why I don’t think he can play in a real game. I’ve seen tons of QB’s over the years that are accurate and can make plays against backups, but if you lack that zip on the ball, once you’re going against starters, that stuff is getting picked off or knocked down.

In any case hopefully Winston stays healthy because without him this is a 2-win team, at most.

But, again, I’d keep Griffin over Gabbert since he’s had plenty of chances to play and has always been awful and has zero upside.

  250. Rod Munch Says:

On Auclair, said it last week, but he’s the blocking guy. Yes, I’d keep Hudson over him as well, but they really play different roles. I think the Bucs just keep both. Since you don’t need a FB or a TE/FB on this team for this offense, you have an extra spot, which should be for an extra TE. Also with OJ’s injury history, you need to prepare for the worst just in case.

But there’s no way Hudson hasn’t earned his way onto the team, I just can’t see trying to sneak him onto the practice squad.

  251. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod, we have the QB whisperer. If Griffin ever has to start, or if he gets the #2 nod, they will fix his faults.

Personally, I’d take him over Gabbert. If Arians really is holding a fair competition, he will let Griffin be the #2 next week.

  252. JimmyJack Says:

Rod absolutely that the two players different roles and is what makes it a tough discussion.

The only problem would be if they only did wanna keep 3TEs and needed that blocker.

They are in a jam if that’s the case but finding a legit receiving TE is hard to do and very valuable. You can’t just let a guy like that go.

The Bucs must find a way to roster him & to me if that mean you gotta cut Auclair and sacrifice a blocking TE that’s what you gotta do. Auclair is just simply more easily replaced.

  253. JimmyJack Says:

Wait is it Griffen with an I or Griffin with an E?……I usually don’t care about speeling but make a exception for player names.

  254. JimmyJack Says:

    Unless they are kickers

  255. Rod Munch Says:

    It’s Griffin with an I.

Bonzai – as I said, I agree with you on keeping him, I just don’t see the arm strength you need to be a starter. They see it in practice, so maybe it’s just me, but I’d certainly have him playing next week and sitting Gabbert – we already know what Gabbert is and he’s played in this offense, there’s no upside and the team isn’t going to win under him. With Griffin, he’s at least a wildcard, we don’t know what we have. Again, my opinion is what it is, but hopefully we don’t need to find out.

  256. Coburn Says:

I really can’t see only keeping 3 tight ends. You would think 4 minimum. 2 tight end sets are a thing and what one guy gets injured and you suddenly don’t have anyone left on the bench?

  257. JimmyJack Says:

    Thanks Rod Minch

  258. Rod Munch Says:

Coburn – Yeah, exactly, with a team that starts two TE’s, that’s the base formation of this team, you’re going to keep 4 TEs, in particular with OJ’s history and Brate coming off an injury as well. Plus Tanner has too much tape out there, he’d be picked up by someone.

I think with #83, Schnell or whatever his name is, he might be getting less playing time after last week because they want him on the PS and don’t want him getting more tape out there. If a guy blows up in the 4th quarter of the 1st preseason game, even getting over 100 yards like he did, I still think it’s unlikely another team would take a chance and sign him, so just keep him out of the game, put him on the PS and see what comes of it.

  259. Craig Says:

Ryan Griffin is a fricking superstar, other than that the Bucs drive me to drink
