What To Like

June 26th, 2019

“Bruce, can you score some points Bruce — points!”

Question marks are all over the field for the Bucs as we inch towards Training Camp 2019.

You know the areas. Running back. Pass rush. Secondary.

But Frank Schwab of Yahoo! Sports believes, while it remains to be seen if the Bucs can win many games this year, they sure will be fun to watch.

The combination of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, slinging the ball downfield to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard with Bucco Bruce Arians calling the shots will be entertaining football, Schwab believes.

Why???? INT’s and turnovers are not “excitement”!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only ones that will find this “exciting” are the sheep that like to watch a toilet being flushed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Succaneers Says:

[That’s a good way to get run. See ya.’ — Joe]

  3. Lord Cornelius Says:

    Realist praying

    1) that Jameis Winston does not have a breakout year and sucks
    2) that the defense is historically bad again
    3) that we have a top 5ish pick in 2020

Otherwise all these prophecies look horrible. Sad thing is Vegas sides with Realist more than the chance at playoffs.

    We’ll see!

I’m just glad I don’t have to root for failure from various individuals and the team to justify my weird internet persona. What a world!

    GO BUCS!

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Wonder if anyone’s told Yahoo Sports yet that Bruce Arians ISN’T ‘calling the shots’ as their Frank Schwab wrote.

  5. The Buc Realist Says:

    @lord of Corn

Not rooting for failure???? Trying to eliminate and clear major problems for the franchise!!!!!!! Its like Lord of Corn driving the wrong way, Instead of turning around, knowing that he has wasted some time to turn around, He would rather just keep cruising in the wrong direction, making the entire situations worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who is the “real” fans???? The fan who wants to fix problems and get the franchise back to success or the fan that just sits there ignorantly smiling while the franchise is run into the ground!!!!!! You better think long and hard lord of corn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. #1bucsfan Says:

Sorry realist you are wrong. Might wanna get your head checked. You literally are rooting for failure. You not a Bucs fan. The real Bucs fan can see that your not. Your prob a falcon troll fan.

  7. Nick2 Says:

Realist is one of the sheep who will be depressed even when the Bucs go onto the playoffs finally. At that point it wll probably be how the uniforms are the color losers wear or how bad the concession lines are or that the Bucs have made the playoffs but will get blown out blah blah blah blah blah.

  8. Nick2 Says:

At least Realist is passionate. Passionate for losing???????

  9. RawDog Says:

    Future Buc Realist post:

“Yes, the Bucs went to the playoffs, but they will never sustain this success!!!!!!”

    ….sheep…….”real” fans……..exclamation points!!!!!

  10. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Do national writers realize the Bucs aren’t getting the QB whisperer to fix Jameis we are getting the greatness of Byron Leftwich and his innovative offense that averaged less than 14 points per game last year in 9 games as the offensive coordinator

  11. Lord Cornelius Says:

    @Realist.

Whatever you say man lol. No one is sitting around “ignorantly smiling” about anything.

I don’t think you realize that

    1) Most fans dog Jason Licht and have wanted him gone for how 2014-2018 personnel played out. At a minimum pretty much all fans have been critical.
    2) Many fans if not most are skeptical of Jameis Winston as a franchise QB

Neither of those opinions determines who is a “real” fan or not. And neither are unique takes by you.

At this point in June 2019 there is nothing we can do but see how this plays out. There is no point on talking crap to other fans and patting yourself on the back for predicting failures.

The only unique thing about your takes is that you think Bruce Arians is a “stale biscuit” or whatever. And that’s where most disagree with you but I am even open minded that this staff may be another over-the-hill-hire and have made posts worried about that very thing – primarily with Todd Bowles.

Personally I hope this is a competitive awesome team with a great staff and something to build off of. I don’t think that makes me some crazy delusional “in the wrong direction” fan. We see teams turn around all the time quickly. We see non house hold names become house hold names from season to season.

Anyone who thinks they can nail the NFL down like some easy predictable science is just another j4ckass talking out of their 4ss.

And honestly IMO this is either going to go great or blow up big time, and 2020 is the draft to be going into for a rebuild / new QB if it blows up, so the timing is pretty good.

But might as well root for things to pan out, right? I mean jesus christ what a crazy thought.

  12. ben Says:

So the defense is fixed, the running game is taken care of ,the bucs qb finally got accuracy and smarts while the bucs found piles of cash to sign a few valuable free agents…and everyone saves their hard earned money to have season tkts !! right??

  13. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Lord of corn

Your “panning out” is for all the if’s to work and everyone having a career year!!!!!

My “panning out” is for the Glazer’s to hire a good gm and coaches that are good that are not one foot out the door for a “reload”!!!!!!!! and that the “real” rebuild starts next year since it is too late to start right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Magadude Says:

Yes, much to hope for, but hoping for too much right away is not a good strategy. We don’t know if the team is any better, and BA really hasn’t proven anything yet. Average HC, but nothing better than division title and losing record his last two seasons. He could very well be the latest addition to the Island of Misfit Toys. Wait and see.

  15. DB55 Says:

    Realist

I’m ignorantly smiling at you. The dude literally said – the Bucs can’t run the ball AND their defense is terrible too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    But you talking about Ints.

Neither he nor Ira mention Caleb Benonch, Demar Dotson, Alex Cappa or any other turnstile we got protecting ATM.

    BAAAAAHHH BAAAAHHHH.

YO Brady, Drew, Matt, Cam, Aaron, Russell we’re going to give you a pro-bowl WR but no blocking (you might injure your shoulder from all the hits you take) no run game (avg 40 ypg if we’re lucky) no defense (avg 32 ppg on a good day) and we EXPECT you to not turn the ball over and win 12 games or you’re fired. Good luck

    BAAAAHHHH BAAAHHHH BAAAHHHHH

  16. Jean Lafitte Says:

I don’t believe RB is the issue. It’s the run blocking that’s been atrocious. Fix that first and the RB’s will find space.

  17. Alanbucsfan Says:

The Defense is what will make Bucs fan base come alive.

  18. bucnole Says:

    @realist. . . please don’t feed the trolls
Let the little kid live in his own fantasy
He just posts stuff here to get a reaction
Let the little fellow have his fun but don’t react to it
He is NOT a Bucs fan
Is there something I can call the little MF to get banned????

  19. Lord Cornelius Says:

I don’t want Realist banned. Would be hilarious to see what he posts if the Bucs are actually good / turn the corner in 2019.

  20. Cobraboy Says:

One thing I like is these talking heads, most who never got bashed in the mouth on a football field, is they tend to be exposed for hacks every year.

If I wanted to listen to constant complaining, I’d call my ex-mother-in-law.

  22. BucEmUp Says:

Realist, please explain to the crowd what YOU would do as a qb with a defense that gives up a league record completion percentage, gives away league high time of possession to the opposing offenses and then asked to overcome that 23 point deficit he is often put in before the first half is even over.

Oh, and then don’t forget that the kickers missing and coaches inability to make changes from quarter to quarter LET ALONE WEEK TO WEEK! REALIST, HOW ARE YOU GONNA NOT TAKE CHANCES AND THROW SOME PICS in that situation every game every week REALIST??!!!!

You know the bucs were in the bottom five in the league in pass attempts to their running backs? Go ahead and name some of the best rushing team in the league. I’ll bet you that list is full of teams that use running backs in the passing game as their bread and butter. BUT THATS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR TEAM!!! T-E-A-M!!!!! Any fool that blames one guy for not being able to pull the other 52 players and a clueless coaching staff is a good laugh.

Get your head out of your arse man!

  23. UnderMeBucin’Hat Says:

Realist is still pissed Koetter is gone. Probably “GM93” as well. Now it’s NS93!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Todd Says:

    Realist—

    BucEmUp just owned you.

I enjoyed it very much. Looks like you’ll need to invest in a glass belly button so you can see.

  25. The Buc Realist Says:

    @todd

If the team is that bad, then they have no business paying a none-difference maker QB nearly 30 million next year!!!!!!! Work on all those problems and draft a QB!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be years for a team good enough to drag the fold like a lawn chair qb to consistent winning seasons!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Rebuild is “Real”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!

  26. Magadude Says:

    I’ll borrow some of DB55’s sarcasm….

I’m just glad BA has fixed this team, especially the DB…all those rookies and one year guys are going to shut down guys like Brees, especially with Spence and Gholston gettign their hands on him and other QBs. Suh’s a proven team player, so he will be a great team captain on D and I just know Perriman is going to get hit on Winston’s pinpoint accurate long ball no problem. RoJos going to do great behind the same O line with a new coaching staff…led by a guy sitting in the golf cart “participating” in practice (his own words). The stadium is going to be packed in to welcome Honest Jameis back into the fold, with unprecdented season ticket sales to show solidarity for why this great man deserves $140M over five years, ALL guaranteed. Man, this is the year for a SB, repeat next year.

    Wow, dizzying…LOL.

  27. Pete I Says:

Jameis will throw for lots of yards and plenty of INT’s, he will fumble the ball several times as well. That is who he is.

Right now I’m trying to see what will be different from last year and it is BA and his golf cart. If Jameis’s big yards (ie Meaningless stats) don’t begin to equate to wins then nothing will have changed. Except BA and his golf cart. BA or Bust for Jameis “meaningless stats” Winston

The “Best” QB in Buccaneers history is not even on track to make the Ring of Honor at Ray Jay.

  28. SenileSenior Says:

I would be willing to bet that Bruce and his wife had some discussions about what he should do if he came out of retirement. I am sure that his wife loves him and did not want to see him go back into the pressure cooker life of an NFL head coach.

Maybe the golf cart is just one of the concessions BA had to make in order to jump back into the fray without keeling over and being carted off.

    I don’t know.
