Carolina Bound

June 3rd, 2019

Fat money with new team

Former Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy may no longer be a member of the Bucs, but he’s not going away just yet.

GMC decided to stick around the NFC South and has signed with Riverboat Ron Rivera and the Stinking Panthers per Adam Schefter of BSPN.

So that means at least twice this year, GMC will be chasing America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

As Joe likes to say, careful what you wish for.

Class act, glad he’ll finally be able to play for a competent organization

  2. westernbuc Says:

Somewhere, Brees and Marty Ice shudder

  3. westernbuc Says:

    Matty, not Marty. Thanks iPhone

  4. Doctor_berto Says:

Prob get his only two sacks of the season against benenoch

  5. Buddy Says:

Haha. G is going to whip the horrible Bucs offensive line with ease.

  6. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

    Panthers D just got softer

Panthers got over 30 million wrapped up in DT’s

Hope Jameis hard counts to draw this clown offsides

  7. Jeffbuc Says:

Well we can guarantee at least two offside penalties from him each game we meet. Jameis will hard count him. And start Barber in fantasy those two games. McCoy is going to be so amped he will be trying to rush every play instead of playing his gap. Oh that’s what he did every game here also. Man this is going to be horrible to watch Carolina between cam and McCoy now. They are going to be doing all kinds of stupid dances and celebrations. And just for getting a first down or a tackle. They can try to one up each other on how they dress up in there clown clothes.

  8. Todd Says:

Well, at least twice a year Barber and RoJo will enjoy some nice, predictable running lanes!

  9. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Batman memorabilia shops are opening at a record pace in the Charlotte area.

  10. Jeffbuc Says:

And where is all the people guaranteeing he would get more money than suh. Hahahahah

  11. Wombat Says:

Now that have Superman and Batman!!!! Yippee!!!!

  12. Wombat Says:

Now they have Superman and Batman!!!! Yippee!!!!

  13. Hodad Says:

I heard it was 8.5 mill one year.

  14. Snook Says:

Hahahaha!!! Yes! The good news just keeps coming. Panthers defense just got soft. Gerald won’t be chasing Jameis anywhere. What a joke.

  15. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

    Good for him…
Now, Joe can we not see articles on the enemy. He’s official. Wish him the best, till he plays us.
    Go BUCS

  16. AlteredEgo Says:

my best Hugh Culverhouse…..whad evahhhh !

  17. Snook Says:

Funny how his deal is worth $0.25M more in incentives than Suh. That’s all Ice Cream cares about. If he cared about winning, he wouldn’t have picked a team with a QB who has a bum shoulder.

  18. John5 Says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if GMC took less money just to play with the Panthers and make us pay twice a year. I hope he does.

  19. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

hey Joe. Asking for a friend… how’s Buckner coming along? Zach? Anyone?
    Go BUCS

  20. Bird Says:

Funny how many of the posters were way off here. Said he was unwanted.
Said he definitely would not get Suh value deal. Some said he wouldn’t get 7, 5. One said 3.

Yah. And Rivera is a terrible judge of talent too.
Carolina is usually In the playoff mix.
Rivera has been great defensive mind Over the years.

  21. Bucfan1988 Says:

From post from Ian Rappaporr, here is GMC’s deal:

The full breakdown of Gerald McCoy’s deal with the #Panthers: 1 year, $4M to sign, $3M base, $500K camp roster bonus, $500K in 45-man per game bonus. Plus, 6.5 sacks for $500k, 8 sacks gets him $1.5M. 250K for Pro Bowl, $250K for playoffs. Just $4M guaranteed. Total: Up $10.25M.

  22. SOEbuc Says:

Watch out. He’s going to change all his moves that Ali didn’t go up against when he was in Bucs TC.

  23. Todd Says:

    Second place to Suh again.

    And that nagging bicep injury…

  24. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

@john5… why are you here? this is JBF.com, not Joegmcfan.com. go away lil boy.
    Go BUCS

  25. Buc50 Says:

All the people saying he’ll only have 2 sacks against us must be new Bucs fans. I expect him to go ham on us and get 3-4 sacks because all former players have a field day against us.

  26. SOEbuc Says:

*He’s going to change all his moves that Ali DID go up against when he was in Bucs TC.

  27. Buccaneerscotty Says:

He’s going to break Winston in half lmao it’s a great move by him. Love it!!

  28. DB55 Says:

So not only is he soft af he’s a sell out too. I hope you hurt your pinky again you 🤡

  29. SmoothCriminal Says:

    🙂

Follow the verbiage boys and girls. “Up to” are the two saddest and most predictably pitiful words used by his inept agent, to Schefty. 🙂 Nobody includes a “signing bonus” amount, in a 1 year deal press release. Idiot sad. But predictable.

Likely they wanted to structure the salary equal to Suh’s salary with us, so let’s just assume the soft emotionally fragile stooge gets $9.25 million in salary, four mill advanced. Woo. Suh will see every penny of his $9.25 million. SheMC won’t reach the extra $1 mill.

But he’s gotta wear, like his superhero capes, the fact that he’s been….cast aside.

One of the few very few times, Licht’s….won.

    Cheers. SheMC!!

Suh will wear ur number…and show ya.

  30. BucsScout Says:

The goal of a 3-4 DT is to stop the run. Carolina is moving to a 3-4 this year. McCoy has no second move to attack a QB after identifying it’s not a run. His only move is 3 tech speed to slip by the G. He may get benched halfway through the season. The market spoke and no contenders wanted him. This has to be a slap in the face to his pride and making less than Suh. Brutal for Batman

  31. Eric y Says:

Easy for bucs just run up the gut

  32. Boogie Says:

Yawn.. we’ve seen what he can do.. need Jensen and Marpet to rough his a$$ up on the line! Better. It let this guy come back and have a day against us he’s on the other side now!

  33. Bucnjim Says:

    Buccaneerscotty,
Well I guess there is a first time for everything. The last hard hit on a QB he was flagged for excessive apologizing.

  34. Youngbucs Says:

Meeeeeeooow. I wonder if he’s going to change action figures and go with black panther now?

  35. Todd Says:

Did you hear about the new offensive line scheme BA is installing for the Panthers games?!

Suh will be playing guard. Whichever side Gerry lines up.

  36. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Just run directly at the cat. Shoot we don’t even need a RG, Gerald will blow by the play anyway.
For real though, watch him make a big sack to win a game for the Panthers. SMH, dang you Gerald, way to cross over to the dark side.

  37. Jfat Says:

    10 in FL > 10.25 in NC.

  38. Succaneers Says:

LMAO, THIS IS GREAT… YOU CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP, ONLY WITH THE SUCCANEERS ONLY WITH THE SUCCANEERS,, OLE GERALD WILL BE SURE TO KNOCK JAMEIS ON HIS ASS 5-6 TIMES A DAY, OH GLORY DAYS, BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I CANT STOP LAUGHING, MCCOY TO THE PANTHERS, HAHAHAHAHAHA THIS IS GREAT STUFF

  39. Allbuccedup Says:

    Watchout JW

  40. NOSBOS Says:

    😊sucker deal.

  41. Buc1987 Says:

How long has this louden clown been on this site anyways?

  42. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I knew this was gonna get u turned-up.

Now he’s added fuel to the damn fire.

U & Tmax been waiting for this day a long time. So Enjoy brothas.

I’m just pissed we didn’t trade him 3yrs ago. Smh
Always a day late and a dollar short in Tampa

  43. Race to 10 Says:

I knew most of the fake bucs fans would be here. Rooting for McCoy against us is just stupid and fyi you don’t become 31 years old and develop news pass rushing moves because your playing your old team what kind of stupid idiots comment here!!! If you think familiarity is only a one way street and McCoy is the only one with the advantage your no bucs fan and your here just trolling. Dude will be what he has always been against us average to invisible. If he goes off for 3-4 sacks against us then you’d have to question his effort and leadership here. Dude will end up getting a sack against Winston but it will be like falling on a bed of pillows with Rose’s, Geraldine ain’t never hurt a quarterback ever and he wont do it this year

  44. Youngbucs Says:

Jensen’s going to single-handedly Stand McCoy up at the line like the little McBatgirl he/she is.

  45. SteelStudBuc Says:

Run it up the gut. Iso right all day.

  46. JimmyJack Says:

The Panthers have had our number since this division started. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that our Bucs could be on the rise while the Panthers needle is pointing down.

The great news is that Suh will definitely show up in a big way in those games. My money is on Suh to have the bigger day when we play them.

Also factor in that our week 2 matchup against Carolina is a great advantage for us. They have no time to study and prepare for Bruce’s team. Bruce could and should start installing gameplans for Carolina very early on.

    GO BUCS!!!

  47. DB55 Says:

Further proof the JW and McIceCream had beef.

  48. BigMacAttack Says:

I’d much rather live in Charlotte than Baltimore or Cleveland. It was a good choice for him. GMC is the least of the Bucs worries though. He may know our players but nothing about this offense or defense. I’m glad he’s gone and they kept him away from 1BP this spring.

  49. JimmyJack Says:

I thought Gerald wanted to play for a playoff team?

He didn’t visit any playoff teams so maybe they didn’t want him.

At least he will be wearing baby blue. Dang will he look good in that color.

  50. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    WGAF

  51. SmoothCriminal Says:

Not sure when this site….IS going to break this kinda news before national outlets…do. Local story, local team, local….break.
Seems reasonable. This site doesn’t invest the time in such things 90 percent of the time. McCoy’s agent is easy to get a hold of and he’s going to service the national outlets first so he can use them to get the word out on other clients when desired. That’s how it works. –Joe

  52. GoBuxFla Says:

    Fantasy Football notes…

Start Barber at RB2 every game the Bucs play the Panthers. Barber should average 24 fantasy points per game.

  53. DBS Says:

At least he won’t look like he should be working at Burger King!!

  54. JimmyJack Says:

Smooth Carolina is not a local team.

  55. SOEbuc Says:

Panthers paid him $10 million to play in a 3-4??? Are you trying to pump info out of this guy Ron??? We didn’t renagotiate and cut him cus he can’t play 3-4 which we’re FINALLY switching to.

  56. gotbbucs Says:

I could make “up to” $500 million if I play the lottery and win.

I only care about his base salary. Too bad he wasnt on an incentive based salary here, might have gotten some production out of something other than his mouth for once.

…and Joe, nice job of comparing McCoy leaving Tampa to Montana leaving San Fran. in a previous comment section today. One of them puts 00 stats up in meaningful games, the other one wins 4 out of 4 Super Bowls and takes home 3 Super Bowl MVP’s. Other than that, really close comparison.

  57. Kory chapple Says:

Traitor. Brooks had a chance go to the Aints and said no. Legends for a team don’t go division rival. If he thinks TB didn’t love him before, he put the final nail in today. He’s a good player and “he’s fast” off the snap. Help up JW3 when you don’t sack him and get a knockdown or a pressure Batman. That’s the problem. 👌👈

  58. Succaneers Says:

    SUCS SUCK

  59. JA Says:

I can only imagine the joy of acquiring McCoy’s multimillion dollar wealth in exchange for having each and every one of you hate my guts as a football player. It’s the ultimate no-brainer. You could throw any childhood, playground, empty skulled nickname at me and I’d embrace the laughter of a hyena.
And then I’d take that laughter all the way to the bank. And maybe, while inside, I’d throw one of you sad souls a c-note or two to wash my Rolls …

  60. Ndog Says:

Panthers fans are so happy which is off cause they have seen his disappearing act for years. For example last year vs them in two games he had 3 total tackles and half a sack. Wow now that is production.

  61. #1bucsfan Says:

I’m pretty sure all the gmc haters 1 saying he isn’t going to get signed by anyone an 2 he won’t even scratch 6 mill. Haters always be wrong haha

  62. Anonymous Says:

McCoy is gonna be like Forrest Whitaker in Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and tmaxcon wrecked his car.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YYV5f0Aqo

  63. AwShbucs Says:

Guess Gerald really doesn’t care that much about winning after. Its gonna be a whole lot easier to run on the Panthers now. Ronald Jones probably has his breakout game against the puttytats.

  64. Buc believer Says:

AWESOME!!! Now we can bitch slap his pansy arse twice a year! Now let’s talk about players on our team who mean something instead of harping on the most selfish player in franchise history who likes to wear his bathrobe to training camp and play with dolls.

  65. Bucsfan77 Says:

I was talking with my brother who also is a huge bucs fan and of course he was talking smack about McCoy and other draft picks we have had. I made one comment that I thought I’d share. We can not judge any draft picks we have had on defensive side for the last 5 years, our coaches could of had our entire 2002 team and still go 4-12

  66. DB55 Says:

    1buc

    4 mil garunteed. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  67. Louis Says:

It’s a far safer community to live in, and it’s beautiful there. He has money, and the tax advantages are better there then Ohio and Maryland. Being on a winner had nothing to do with that.
He also can only has 1 California away game, tax wise that’s a huge win For him the Ravens play in California 2x and browns only 1ce. Cleveland in cold and dirty compared to Carolina, and Baltimore he as great food but a dangerous place to live

  68. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Lawd

  69. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Crap. Was hoping he’d go with the Ravens.

  70. NOSBOS Says:

1buc have you read the terms bro??? It’s a sucka deal because he’ll never actually play mean enough to attain the stats necessary to get all the money. I know this because we all know he cry’s out loud when asked to do anything other than 3tech. To me this deal says Rivera mentally said “we know exactly why BA sent yo candy@$$ packing,we just hope to get a few revenge games out of you when you face your old team next season”. I highly doubt that because mean ain’t that n his chemical make up.

  71. NOSBOS Says:

    4mill guaranteed. Sucka deal.

  72. NOSBOS Says:

The only money that means anything in the NFL is the gauranteed money. Everything else is a pipe dream.

  73. NOSBOS Says:

And contrary to Bonzai I’m elated his Charming soft @$$ stayed in division.

  74. Tony LA Says:

What I would pay to see you big-talking commenters walk up and say to GMC’s face what you say on these boards. Please do so if you ever get the chance. The rest of us will pour one out for you after you do so.

  75. Eric Says:

Must be nice to get a four million dollar bonus.

I doubt id care if somebody else got a smidgen more.

I view the McCoy v Suh thing as a wash, but its not good that Gerald went to a Division rival.

We got a wash, but the stinking panthers upgraded.

  76. Mike Johnson Says:

I’m happy for GMC. He got paid. He will come back to haunt the Bucs. They all do. He will play extra hard when we face them. Somebody here talkin smack about the Panthers? If my memory serves me right..their record has been far better than our the last few years right? Opps my bad..fake news huh?

  77. WillieG Says:

What’s the over/under on how many times he has to leave games against the Bucs with an “injury”? I say 2. One per game. And I think I’ll take the over.

  78. Swamp buc Says:

    Total friggin bummer.

    What?!

I’ve been wearing that 93 as long as he has and man that just totally sucks.

I can’t defend that decision in any way.

I’ll never be cool with this.

  79. AlteredEgo Says:

I can’t believe you guys care that much…

  80. Swamp buc Says:

I’m super PI&$ED that he wants to join the Stinkin Panthers and I’ll just never ever be OK with this.

This decision, of his alone, says just way too much to me.
    I can’t overlook it.

I feel totally stabbed in the back.

    I mean, CAROLINA?!

    NO FRIGGIN WAY.

  81. DooshLaRue Says:

    TonyLA

Shut up with that tired line.
He’s a puss and many of us would tell him to his face.

    Don’t make me laugh…..

  82. SOEbuc Says:

“This presumably puts the Panthers at over $60 million spent on the defensive line in 2019, which is more than $10 million more than 2nd place.” – Field Gulls

Panthers $8.4 million cap space after McCoy. Lmao at the pick up.

  83. Bobby Says:

Was offered twice as much by Ravens and Browns and turned them down for Carolina. I think he likes the NFC South and the warmer winters in Charlotte.
Should be fun to watch he and Suh try to outdo each other.

  84. LakeLand Says:

Great signing by the Carolina Panthers

GMC is finally a member of a decent NFL caliber football team
And he gets to pad his stats against the YUCS

  85. NOSBOS Says:

Tony what exactly do you think his candy @$$ would do in this world of law suits.

  86. NOSBOS Says:

    I’ll tell you absolutely nothing.

  87. NOSBOS Says:

Some of y’all make yourselves sound stupid.

  88. NOSBOS Says:

Eric Suh has lead 3 different teams to the playoffs. Candy@$$ has never seen the playoffs. That lions team and dolphins team wasn’t e exactly stacked with pro bowlers either. Chump @$$ fanbase I tell you.

  89. DBS Says:

6-10 . McCoy to the playoffs or a winning season. Winston gone. Licht fired. Den of Depression continues. And the excuse. Bad Coaching.

  90. SC Bucs Fan Says:

LakeLand go with him to the Panthers. Please.

  91. NOSBOS Says:

Come back to haunt us??? Mmm,let me think has he ever haunted anything as a Buc… Negative.

  92. LakeLand Says:

What interesting is the fact Carolina wil be using both a 4-3 and 3-4 defense. Dontari Poe at NT, GMC and Kawann Short the DEs in the 3-4. Mario Addison, Luke Kuechly, Brian Burns, Shaq Thompson the Linebackers.

  93. LakeLand Says:

I’ve been a Carolina fan since they drafted Cam

    Everyone on here knows this

  94. Bobby Says:

Suh hasn’t led crap! He was MIA until the playoffs last year. He was great in postseason but Aaron Donald led them to the playoffs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we got Suh but GMC was a very good DT. He just happened to be a decent human being too which apparently is forbidden in football. 🥴

  95. NOSBOS Says:

😁. They replaced they’re owner, starting QB isn’t throwing coming shoulder surgery and they lost how consecutive games to end last season. Yea right they about to go the playoffs because they added soft serve.

  96. NOSBOS Says:

So how exactly has he appeared in playoffs with 3 different organizations smart guy??? Playing tea time some kids. You MOs ridiculous.

  97. NOSBOS Says:

Typical Buc base, mourn the gum shower and reject the gladiator. Eat ya weak @$$ hearts out and stop breathing for all I care. This team is no longer for the faint of heart MOs.

  98. Infidel Strong Says:

    Swamp buc

Just tape SUH over McSoftie on the 93 jersey and you’re good to go.

  99. MadMax Says:

HAHAHAHA! Awesome….get to play against him2 times this year…..lets see if he dances on the sidelines while losing to us lol.

  100. Jeffbuc Says:

Any of you mccoy lovers want a couple McCoy jerseys. Have the rebook white jersey from around his rookie year and a Nike elite before the alarm clock. I will gladly send them to you for free just give me an address first one to responds gets them. I also will throw in the Nike elite Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin pre alarm clock Nike jerseys. They are all sewn on numbers and name not the cheap ones. For real though whoever wants them I will ship them out tomorrow to you Cleaning out my closet and will never wear them

  101. Sailor Jerry Says:

    YAWN!!!

  102. Kobe Faker Says:

    “Hey Lake

Kobe is LMAO on all these posts of team player Suh

Last 5 years, all of Gumps FA signings came to Tampa to steal Glazers money and R and R in sunny Tampa but the Bucsfans believe Suh the most selfish cancerous team player in the last 10 years is going to sacrifice his body in behalf of pewter

    Whats in that Koolaid?

Suh is going to turn on this team and lockerroom by game 7”

    Kobe Faker

  103. Dapostman Says:

@Jeffbuc, are there any Goodwill’s in Tampa?

  104. NOSBOS Says:

It’s a sect of y’all that love them “house boys”,I told y’all a month a so ago BA not like you people. His roots not from down here. BA pride himself on Dogs, because deep down on the inside the old man still resides a Dog.

  105. NOSBOS Says:

Closest thang we got to the Roman Coliseum of old. Football and this pansy muthaf$&@: had the nerve to cry on live TV and ish don’t bother some of you. But then turn around and call the team trash and can’t understand why. Muthaf&&@ 93.

  106. Jean Lafitte Says:

Marpet vs. McCoy ..who wins this battle?

I would run the ball through McCoy.

  107. NOSBOS Says:

And my number on here if you wanna talk to me personally about my sentiment.

  108. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Finally safe to run a QB sneak vs Carolina on 3rd and 4th down and goal/a yard. The 11 million mark thrown around by agents, fanboys and “insiders” was actually pesos. Got it.

  109. Jason Parker Says:

Man I love this site and the content. However, all the negativity thrown at Suh and all but one segment of coverage for McCoy is positive. McCoy was a good player just not worth thirteen million.

  110. cmurda Says:

Wow. All this McCoy vs Suh talk motivated me to look back at our 2010 draft picks. Like him or not, you can’t hate on Rockstar for the McCoy pick and he produced at a high level. Look at the entire rest of the draft. Many people want to criticize Licht but Rockstar couldn’t even hold Licht’s draft. What a horrific draft we had in 2010. In fact, it was so bad that I would argue it’s created the mess we have been in the past decade.

  111. Bucsace Says:

I’m shocked that any team in the NFC South would want anything to do with McCoy, I mean for Christ Sakes they saw him play against them twice a season for the last 9 seasons. What do they see in him that we don’t see? Absolutely Nothin’ !!!

  112. lowercaseg Says:

You’ll never be in the ring of honor gerald, but its not like you did much anyways.

  113. SCBucsFan Says:

To all you losers who can’t understand why a team in the NFC South signed McCoy, maybe it’s not their judgment it’s off. Maybe it’s yours.

  114. Rod Munch Says:

“McCoy has 39.5 sacks since 2010 when lined up as a defensive tackle, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. Only Geno Atkins and Aaron Donald have more from the inside rush.”

  115. Rod Munch Says:

Who do the Bucs having playing at guard… Marpet and…

    Ugh.

BUT HE READS COMIC BOOKS!!! GRRRR!!!!!

  116. Rod Munch Says:

I love the morons who double down on McCoy being awful… a division foe who has to play against him twice a year is giving him over $10m – perhaps, dummies, they, unlike yourself, have actually watched him play.

Anywho I don’t dislike the Suh signing, and if McCoy wouldn’t take any cut at all in salary then the Bucs had to do what they had to do, but those who helped run McCoy out of town are the same idiots who cheered Sapp and Lynch leaving.

  117. Lamarcus Says:

GMC is a boo boo player. Only has one move. Quick step and if he doesn’t win he quits in the middle of the play.

I’m happy he is Panther so he can have a front row seat while he watches us win the Division.

This is a win for our offense especially if he starts

  118. Just Sayin’ Says:

All of you pimping Mccoy over the Bucs are pathetic.

  119. Just Sayin’ Says:

Anyone who thinks he was offered 2x as much elsewhere and passed it up is fooling themselves.

  120. DooshLaRue Says:

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The Fancy Man stickin’ up for his boy!

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

  121. tmaxcon Says:

cancer93 nuthuggers that attend the same cult he does are the only ones who have not let go yet…. bottom line is her legacy is 8 basement titles and the face of the basement years regardless of meaningless pro bowls and community garbage…. he was the leader of some of the worst defensive units in NFL HISTORY… all the fluff is garbage.. he is a career loser fraud…. at least the bucs will be able to run in 2 games.

  122. tmaxcon Says:

another positive is that the overrated below average popular backup Marpet gets 2 easy games.

  123. tmaxcon Says:

sc and scotty are not bucfans they are bigots against non cult followers. they care more about how that loser wastes his time playing the god card than winning

  124. Bucball Says:

No big deal we got Suh who is just as good its a business. You haters just watch what McCoy does to our guards tho. Twice.

  125. Buc believer Says:

I will tell you why his soft arse chose Carolina… he knew we would play the as a home team in London this year and he didn’t want to hear the boos when he returned to Tampa! Another bitch boy move!

  126. Old School Athlete Says:

    @Rod Munch
Excellent points! And when Suh gets double-teamed and doesn’t put up flashy numbers or racks up a bunch of personal fouls, these same people will want him gone too.

  127. Trevor Perry Says:

Never seen a less-impact ‘star’ in my lifetime. Congrats, Panthers. Enjoy!

  128. adam from ny Says:

he sealed his fate as to not making the “ring of honor” by signing wth division rival…glazers please make a note of this clown type move…

he probably can still retire as a buc because he might just be one and done after this season…if he plays like 4 more seasons elsewhere, don’t retire him as a buccaneer either…he was just not that special on many many less than stellar defensive units…

we might be talking now, but this guy should soon be quickly forgotten once this new culture hopefully gets rolling…

do not, and i repeat, do not honor a leader of a 10 year losing culture…let him just fade into memories as the season picks up

  129. DB55 Says:

McIceCream now has 5 pro-bowlers on the front 7 and a first rnd DE, if that’s not enough for him to win what is?

McCoy, Poe, Short, Addison, Burns, Luke and Shaq Thompson. Plus Rivera is calling the defense again and remember he built Lovie’s entire career. Oh and a great 2nd CB year in Jackson

Honestly with Rivera calling the def they could get to the po’s without Cam or McIceCream ahhhh but wtfdik

  130. adam from ny Says:

i heard he signed there because if he get’s homesick for the wife and mancave, he can dip home real quick in the batmobile for a quick visit, then hit the road…i95 to i75 and back…zipity doo!

  131. Bucsdelight Says:

LMMFAO at these GMC haters. You all said he wouldn’t sign with anybody because nobody wanted him. WRONG. You all said he wouldn’t get $6M. WRONG. Damn, it must be a bad day for the GMC haters.

  132. BringBucsBack Says:

It is difficult to imagine GMC attaining the incentives’ money. He never wanted to play in a 3-4; is he now magically going to become willing to learn it or effective at it? I can’t imagine them sitting any of those DTs so Gerald can get more playing time, especially when not in 4-3.

You guys who route for Gerald now are indeed pathetic. His decision to play with a division rival is a clear, stiff middle finger directed at the Bucs organization (your favorite team, right?) AND YOU!!

Yankme fans don’t route for the DeadRox or vice versa! You like a team because of one player? Are you 10 years old? I like a lot of players. I don’t pull for ANY team but, the Bucs! The thought is unconscionable, as it is for ALL FANS!

“As for me and my household, we shall route for the Bucs!” -1 BBB 1:1

  133. DBS Says:

The man is not indebted to the Bucs. He could choose to play any place in the NFL he wanted. He did. Like it or not he chose the Panthers. The Bucs chose Not to live up to their contract even though they say it was a mutual parting of the ways. So to frigging bad.

  134. ATrain Says:

    Hey Delight,

First GMC is getting up to 10 million which means he has to produce

Also amazing HE TOOK LESS MONEY

AND the Panthers restructured Smith’s contract to get GMC

Something he refused to do HERE. ME McSoftie. GLAD HE IS GONE

ANY respect I had for GMC is gone. lLike Him

  135. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, I WAS sending good wishes his way. That was before he signed with a division rival. Just average wishes now!

  136. Negative Nancy Says:

It’s not like he left the Bucs in the lurch to play with a division rival… the Bucs cut him.

  137. Buc1987 Says:

Who’s to say he’s not injured for at least 1 of the 2 games he plays the Bucs?

Either way…. run the ball up the middle all day long.

    Go Barber Go!

  138. Neal Says:

He will not fit in that locker room. The panthers are known for being a bunch of scumbags.

  139. Bucsdelight Says:

    ATrain,

From reporting, they never tried to restructure with him. He told them to make an offer and they didn’t. Bucs let him go. Here is the breakdown of his contract. “1 year, $4M to sign, $3M base, $500K camp roster bonus, $500K in 45-man per game bonus. Plus, 6.5 sacks for $500k, 8 sacks gets him $1.5M. 250K for Pro Bowl, $250K for playoffs. Just $4M guaranteed. Total: Up $10.25M.”

Not sure why you think they restructured Smith to get GMC. They waited until June 1 when “the Panthers picked up an additional $7.5 million under the salary cap for the release of offensive tackle Matt Kalil, to compete financially for McCoy.”

“McCoy has 39.5 sacks since 2010 when lined up as a defensive tackle, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. Only Geno Atkins and Aaron Donald have more from the inside rush.”

  140. Herewegoagain Says:

For all you idiots talking about money, he turned down reportedly double and all garunteed money from the ravens, and a less good bit still better deal from the browns, if it was about money, he wouldn’t be in Carolina
