Hundreds of kids showed up and showed out at One Buc Place today.

The young Bucs fans got to show off their football skills, as well as learn a thing or two from many coaches, the most important being Bucs tight end O.J. Howard at his football camp sponsored by Hyundai.

From winning new Xbox Ones, to galloping to Billy Ray Cyrus’ smash hit “Old Town Road,” it was a day of fun and football for the kids. And Howard was very excited to be a part of it.

“They are. A lot of energy,” Howard replied when asked how great the kids were at the camp. “It’s so cool to look back and see when I was in their shoes and how fun it is and to see those kids one day be in my shoes.”

While fun was the most important part of the day, the kids also got to learn valuable lessons on football fundamentals from the Bucs tight end, picking his brain tossing balls with him inside the indoor practice facility, what Joe calls the GlazerShed. It’s unclear whether any of Howard’s teammates joined him to play with the kids, as compared to similar player-hosted events when many Bucs participate.

All in all, it wasn’t too bad of a way to spend a Saturday for the youngest generation in Tampa Bay.

Hopefully he was not injured at today’s PR stunt… they are paid to win on Sunday’s which they don’t do. Do they really have time for this nonsense when they suck so bad… community needs the Bucs to stop embarrassing themselves year in and year out not fluff pr events.

I love that Howard did this camp. I know that Jameis has always done a camp for the young ones as well.

I remember my nephew going to these camps and then as a young high football player attending the Jimmy Smith/Keenan McCardell camp in Jacksonville.

I applaud this interaction with the community. It really helps to get the young fan community interested in the team.

Thank you OJ and thank you Zack for reporting this!

Please respect the artist that is actually responsible for “Old Town Road”. His name is Lil Nas X. Billy Ray is featured on the remix. Thank you.

I really hope he can have a breakout year and stay healthy the entire time. He just seems like he could be one of the Gates or Gonzalez’s. When Winston and Howard are on during a game the offense just looks like everything else is easy. Dude is just a stud and I’m glad he’s able to make some time for the kids to have fun and who knows…. maybe take a youngster and give him the passion to be a great one down the road.

This guy could really make Winston’s life a lot easier and help make Winston one of the highest paid QB’s next year. I really hope both can be Bucs for a long time to come!

Evans, Howard , Godwin – no team has better weapons.
Howard has Gronk talent – should be targeted 6 times per game minimum
