    Seventh round grade. Overdrafted. Damn.

  2. Destinjohnny Says:

    Guys Jason has to go

  3. PoundTheRock Says:

    WTF

  4. Gary Says:

    Can he hit extra points?

  5. Anonymous Says:

You can’t make this stuff up. Go Bucs.

  6. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Solid depth at OL, DL and RB were still on the board, too.

  7. ARGH_M8E Says:

I’m not touching this one with a ten foot pole!

  8. Jameis Almighty! Says:

    Fireeeee Licht!

  9. Pete O’Connor Says:

    Fire Licht now…

  10. Buc believer Says:

What took Gump so long? I was expecting him to make this mistake in round 2!!!

  11. Blind Melon Says:

Well they sure aren’t shying away from trying to fix the kicking situation that has hung around forever.

  12. Unimpressed Says:

Supposedly, he uses a weird 3 step approach on his kicks. If they try to coach it out of him, it might ruin his confidence. :/ risky move

  13. NYbucsfan Says:

Fire Jason today!!!!!!! This is the first time I have said it but he is trash!!!

  14. Anonymous Says:

I have tried to stay SUPER positive and not comment but…………A FU****G KICKER? AGAIN!!!!!

  15. Buccaneerscotty Says:

    ……………………………..?

  16. JimmyJack Says:

I like the choice. I liked the Agaryoio choice and was proven wrong……Hopefully this time the player will actually do his job.

  17. SKBucsFan Says:

Yep. That sums it up Joe. Good luck to this kid. I hope he is a difference maker. Hopefully Licht won’t be around long enough to see.

  18. Figures Says:

    Figures

  19. rrsrq Says:

    I’m like you Joe, wow

  20. Curse of Gruden Says:

    Is this a joke? Wtf

  21. JimmyJack Says:

These overreactions are classic. So much fun to read.

It’s alsmost as if y’all don’t even know that a fifth round choice rarely turns into anything noteworthy…….Gay has the same chance to prove his value as any other 5th rounder ever.

  22. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Stop drafting kickers when there are football players available

  23. Rich Says:

Bud Licht strikes again….5th rd kicker? Best player available…..PLEASE. Bucs are a team of so many needs and he takes a kicker…again. the man has some real issues and needs to go… should’ve been fired with Koetter

  24. PoundTheRock Says:

How about G, RB, DL or KR/PR.

They couldn’t get a kicker as a FA after the draft! Is Licht trying to get fired!

  25. Sloppy Joe Says:

    Classic troll move Jason lol!!

  26. Mord Says:

Hard to imagine a scenario in which they were at risk of not being able to get this guy in the 7th.

Nor a scenario in which it would matter

  27. Blackmagic00 Says:

Hmmmm. Bwhahaha!!!!! Bizarro world at its finest. Go Bucs!

  28. JimmyJack Says:

Look up the rate of how many 5th rounders never even get the chance to put on a uniform.

Or don’t an continue overract. You kneejerkers are fun to laugh at.

  29. Mike in MO Says:

What will it take to get Gump fired?

  30. Curse of Gruden Says:

    GUMP!
    Licht is an idiot.

  31. Durango 95 Says:

Licht panicked when he realized there were no more LSU linebackers or random defensive backs left on the board.

  32. Jarhead Says:

To be positive, I like this pick for the same reasons I liked the Aguayo pick at that time. FG kickers are winning and losing games (mainly losing) at a higher rate than ever. You need an accurate kicker.

  33. firethecannons Says:

LOL! Joe puts up a pic of aguayo

  34. Blackmagic00 Says:

Maybe he’s reserving the 7th round for a place holder

  35. WhatTheBuc Says:

There were players on the board that I thought were better picks but we shall see. It’s not the end of the world to draft a kicker. I read an article that said he could be the next Justin Tucker. Also NFL radio said the Bears were about to take him. Most 5th round picks aren’t successful. If he’s not good we just cut him.

  36. Bird Says:

    Say the same thing

    Jimmy jack

You can’t be a real person. I support many Bucs everything
    This guy would go undrafted
    Maybe 7th round flyer

Jason Licht is now Jason dead to me

  37. rrsrq Says:

Dang, our team must have really been coached bad last year because I am not sure how we got better personnel wise, so we must’ve be really, really good and we didn’t know it. Go Jaboo, an you imagine being a player on the Bucs watching this or better yet, being Devin White.
The wait and see game. Go Bucco Bruce.

  38. Blackmagic00 Says:

Not really about how many 5th rounders make it or not. It’s about the value and possibilities of a much greater need being able to have a shot at making it.

  39. JGhoti86 Says:

Thanks for saying that JimmyJack and being a voice of reasoning. Although not a popular choice and will be scrutinized, he is a really good kicker (you won’t find many saying the opposite). He has a better chance of being a contributor and making the team as a 5th round pick than most. And I think we can all agree, our kicker situation has been horrible for years and needs to be addressed. This will never be a popular pick though. It’s a 5th rounder, not a 2nd.

  40. Tom S. Says:

Hey Glazers, you did this to yourself you inbred morons. Worst owners in the NFL. You should’ve fired Licht after the 2017 season went up in smoke. So glad to see you’ve let the destruction continue for 2 more seasons. Hell give Licht a lifetime extension at this point so I can root for the Browns.

  41. WonHungLo Says:

Definitely surprised with this draft. How many games in the Licht’s TB tenure has he witnessed losses by missed FG’s? I watch all the games, the kicking game has been pretty ridiculous

  42. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

You can’t make this stuff up!!! It’s not necessarily the picks Licht is making that I’m upset over…they are needs, but it feels like we reached a round or two for almost every pick in this draft outside of the first one. I just have to hope the coaches know what they needed even if I’m not seeing the master plan for victory unfolding in front of us.

  43. PoundTheRock Says:

    JimmyJack
Top of the 5th rd…may as well say 4th rd kicker, for fks sake.

I tried not to be negative regarding the the picks eyebrow raising picks 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rds…but I can’t take it anymore!

Glazers….fire Licht before the draft is over.

  44. Jersey Buc Says:

It takes a special kind of idiot…

  45. Anonymous Says:

It takes a special kind of idiot…

  46. SickofLosing Says:

WTF! Seriously I just can’t anymore. I used to defend Idiot’s drafts but I can’t anymore. I was talking to my friends last night and said that he should’ve been fired then, now he definitely need to go.

  47. ATrain Says:

    ATrain Joe Blocked

  48. Mike in MO Says:

A kicker in the 5th round is the best player available? Why?

  49. TexBuc Says:

Every pick is a gamble especially 5th round and below. A kicker has a higher chance of actually making team and making a big impact.

  50. Miguel Grande Says:

I know what to type Joe.

The Gay kicker is what’s called the coup de grace.

Just when the draft is flopping around on the floor, mortally wounded, you put it out of it’s misery with a bullet through the bucking ear.

    Fire Licht tonight.

  51. TOM Says:

Bird thats Jimmy Jackoff Jerk to you. It seems Ahole Licht is going out of his way to piss off the fans. This draft will certainly help ticket sales. Not

  52. stpetebucsfan Says:

    @JJ

You are so correct sir! Just googled for some %’s to back up your point.

The first round gives you a 63% chance of finding a starter. The second round gives you a 27% chance, the third a 17% chance, then it really plummets from there with 8% in the fourth and 6% in the 7th. This is why you frequently can have as much success with UDFA’s.

IE Whether it’s this kicker or an OL or DL there is less than a one in ten chance the guy will make it.

A reminder though…yesterday I found a more specific breakout of the first round….breakdown…1-5 77% of success…White has a 3 in 4 shot of making it. There are NO sure picks. QB’s seem to represent the biggest gambles.

6-10 62% the rest of the round is near 50% so when you average the ENTIRE 1st round that is where that 63% figure comes in. But 63% is far lower than for picks 1-5.

  53. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Jason Lichts toads! Ridiculous pick for the 5th round. He probably drafts kickers early in his fantasy football league too. What an idiot!

  54. Tony LA Says:

You know… it’s not the draft we wanted. It’s the draft we have.
    The one thing to remember,
This new coaching staff is better than the previous one.
Young guys on this team will improve.
Guys we didn’t like last year will get better.

Most importantly, the schemes will be better. As will the results.

    Go Bucs!!

  55. BringBucsBack Says:

This draft seems so bad, that in Bucland, it may be the best ever!?

That is my most positive spin.

I’m not drunk but, should be.

  56. IBelieveinJameis Says:

Actually liked the Bucs draft until this. It’s likely he wouldn’t even have been drafted.

“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”
    – Something Licht obviously never read

  57. Jonathan LimpChimpi Says:

Arians son kicked in the NFL….couldn’t we have just trotted him out and blamed it on nepotism?

  58. '79 Defense Says:

As others have said, you can’t make this stuff up. –Go Bucs!

  59. El Buco Realisto Says:

At least now we know which jersey 813broccoli will constantly wear!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

48hrs until the return of “The Buc Realist” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  60. Havingfitz Says:

    Unbelievable. A pk. smh….

  61. GoBuxFla Says:

    God hates us.

    So does Licht obviously.

  62. kyle Says:

are you kidding??? i am speechless.. 2 premium picks on kickers in 3 years???? no wonder we have drafted 6/7 corners in 2 years and have the worst secondary in the league..

    this is insanity..

  63. JimmyJack Says:

Thank you StPete…….I’m no good at the internet or I’d look it up myself.

So there you have it. 6% chance to find a starter. That means if Gay win the job and performs he was a good pick.

BTW guess what types of careers many 5th rounds wind up with?

Special Teams…..Ponder that then go ask Mommy for a warm ba-ba.

  64. Superd950 Says:

They just called him the Mormon Janikoski! I hope he does well for the Bucs!

  65. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I think I like it.

  66. D-Rome Says:

This is a big F-U to the fans. Simple as that.

  67. James Says:

Since when has a fifth rounder been a premium pick. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Why isn’t everyone crying about the Browns picking a kicker just a short time later. At least they got the one who is considered the best in college this year. By the way, he has made 8 of 11 over 50 yards. When is the last time we had anyone that could kick the long one accurately?

  68. Boltsfan17 Says:

These picks are just as much Arian’s as they are Licht. If not more so.

I’ve given up on this franchise until there are new owners.

  69. T REX Says:

Lol. Defenders of the faith. Losers.
