Round 2 Draft Open Thread

April 26th, 2019

Among the thousands of daily readers here, less than 1 percent like to share a comment or two, or 10. So Joe is firing up another draft-day open thread so you folks have a place to collect your prognostications — and be praised or laughed at later.

Have fun. Play nice. It’s not that hard.

  1. AlteredEgo Says:

I do my best to make up for those that only read and don’t post….

  2. Joeypoppems Says:

Cody Ford is my dream. Rumors are out there that Greedy Williams might fall to the 3rd.

Could you imagine if the Bucs came away with Devin White, Cody Ford, and Greedy Williams?

  3. Tut Says:

I see a CB if we sit tight. I can also see a trade to Miami with them targeting Lock ahead of Denver.

  4. passthebuc Says:

rather have the temple CB at #3

  5. Unimpressed Says:

    Right Tackle? Cornerback?

  6. BucsBandit Says:

QB WILL GRIER, UNIVERSITY OF WEST VIRGINIA. 🙂

  7. passthebuc Says:

@TUT Would like to see that happen

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

I saw a long segment on Greedy…maybe it is just the way he comes across….but the guy is very very laid back…and maybe not mature…seems like a nice enough kid though

  9. TB22 Says:

Some people were talking about OL Jawaan Taylor in the Round 1 open thread….

There are some rumors floating around out there that there are 2 major concerns with Taylor: 1. Off the field concerns–whatever that entails. 2. His knee.

He was mocked by many to Jax at #7…so he was one of the big losers on day 1.

And yet–the guy has the potential to be a great player. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

  10. AlteredEgo Says:

I predict there will be BIG wheeling and dealing….Bucs may even trade back…there is a lot of equal talent in the later 2nd and all of the 3rd round

  11. Jeffbuc Says:

Ferguson career sack leader. I want him. Or Taylor from Florida if he last until us. He was projected to go to us at 5. If we get him in the second that would be great

  12. Isaac haggins Says:

    Greedy, risner, Ford ,Ferguson

  13. John5 Says:

Funny you have a photo of Noah Spence. I saw him literally today on my airplane and in Tampa airport. He was on my flight flying from Atlanta. And in coach class. He looked like he had put on a lot of weight. Still very muscular dude. Wishing him well so he doesn’t have to keep flying coach. This his is his year to do something.

  14. JabooBuc Says:

Trade down and grab at least an extra pick. Get 3 or 4 tonight please.

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Greedy Williams will not go to round 3……

    I’m thinking we pick a CB @ 39…….

  16. Joeypoppems Says:

If the Bucs draft Jaylon Ferguson at all tonight, I riot

  17. Capt. Blighe Says:

Keep Licht away from all D-II and D-III players

  18. Bucsfan951 Says:

    What he said ^

  19. Easy Says:

Cody Ford might be on the board when we draft. Was worried the Cards would draft him

  20. MadMax Says:

    G or DT or Cb

  21. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Devin White is faster than Byron Murphy

  22. Easy Says:

Good pick by the Colts. Better than Murphy

  23. TB22 Says:

CB run has begun….Murphy and Ya-Sin off the board.

  24. Dewey Selmon Says:

I wanted the Raiders to draft Sin, next year he could of been Rock Ya-Sin City.

  25. Easy Says:

Jags fxn to draft Cody Ford.

  26. TB22 Says:

Jax might still end up getting Jawaan Taylor.

  27. Easy Says:

    Thank you Jags!

  28. donuts Says:

    Guard or DE….trenches!!!

  29. Isaac haggins Says:

Sh!t…. I bet Carolina grabs Cody Ford.

  40. KenfromCanada Says:

Sh*t . Who Carolina trading up for.? Risner I bet

  41. Rod Munch Says:

Why was Cobb’s kid stuck with the 49ers pick? Maybe they didn’t want to have a Make a Wish and Cobb’s kid doing back to back picks for the Bucs, too morbid.

  42. Joeypoppems Says:

Cody Ford dream is still alive!!!!!

  43. Easy Says:

Please let Ford fall to us!!

  44. rrsrq Says:

    Gotta go offensive line

  45. SKBucsFan Says:

Don’t blow it again Licht!!! Take the best rated OL or CB Although there are lots of kickers still available so anything can happen

  46. Dirty Bucs Says:

Little was a potential pick for us. I do prefer Risner though.

  47. Dave Says:

Bills jump in front of us now

  48. Buc68 Says:

Bills just got ahead of us.

  49. Rick Says:

Ford still there. Greedy looking good also.

  50. rrsrq Says:

Why are all these teams trading up to get in front of the Bucs

  51. Rick Says:

    Risner looking good too.

  52. Joeypoppems Says:

Bills added so much OL in FA. They cant be taking Ford, right? Maybe they are going Metcalf?

  53. Kobe Faker Says:

    “LOL

Real GMs movingup to get starters

    we wait for backup players

Real Gms are playing chess and our gimp is playing tiddly winks”

    Shaman Faker

  54. Isaac haggins Says:

  55. Rod Munch Says:

    Repost:

    Bucs current corner depth chart…

    #1. ??????
    #2. Davis
    #3. VH3
    #4. ??????
    #5. ??????

  56. KenfromCanada Says:

Bills take Ford or Risner for sure

  57. Buc believer Says:

Wouldn’t be shocked if Jason Gump chose a holder in the second round…. WORST GM EVER!!!! except for Joes favorite Mark Dominik who equally sucks!

  58. TB22 Says:

Watch the Bucs take another Bama TE.

  59. AlteredEgo Says:

Where does all the advertisement go…NFL..split between teams…the network….gesssh….painful and breaks the drama and suspense of the draft

  60. ManzielMadness Says:

Greedy, Ford, McCoy… definitely some options…

  61. Isaac haggins Says:

Sk , that’s some funny sht

  62. Joeypoppems Says:

    Bills took Ford, damn it

  63. MadMax Says:

    Little is overrated…gj kitties lol

  64. Joeypoppems Says:

Hope the Bucs trade down now. So many DBs left. Trade down for anther 3rd makes sense

  65. Dirty Bucs Says:

That’s two teams that moved up to steal OL players before Tampa could pick. They knew full well Tampa was going OL.

  66. MadMax Says:

    McCoy please

  67. Isaac haggins Says:

Btw if they take a tall corner which they need Bad we def know Bruce doesn’t follow the board !!! Coach em up Bruce !!!

  68. Easy Says:

Well maybe we can draft a DE or CB now that Ford is gone.

  69. ATrain Says:

Bucs sit there and everyone jumps Ahead to grab OLine

    Nice

    WE NEEED Olines Help

  70. SKBucsFan Says:

Has to be Risner now. Please!!!

  71. Rick Says:

    Damn! Risner, greedy.

  72. rrsrq Says:

Dang, ok Risner has to be the pick

  73. TB22 Says:

Bucs should trade down–get extra pick.

    But Licht is snoozing.

  74. rrsrq Says:

    Or Jenkins

  75. AlteredEgo Says:

    Who is Pickisin ?

  76. Bird Says:

    Risner. Greedy. Ferguson

  77. Bird Says:

    Cody Ford pic hurt

    I was hoping for him

  78. TB22 Says:

    WTF?

  79. Bird Says:

    What ?

    Are you kidding me

  80. Rod Munch Says:

    Who?

  81. Joeypoppems Says:

this reminds me of MJ Stewart… kill me

  82. Easy Says:

    What a joke!

  83. SKBucsFan Says:

    Who????

Damn we did nothing in the first two rounds to improve the trenches. Licht has to be fired now!!! Don’t wait until round three.

  84. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Bunting for a base hit…the Tampa Bay way!

  85. Bird Says:

    Bunting is better then greedy

    Are you kidding me ?
Dude. Licht in the second round

  86. Dirty Bucs Says:

I know we need the DB’s, so I’m not too disappointed, but I really wanted Dalton Risner there.

  87. MadMax Says:

Who the hell is that? Wow….but CB, good I guess….

  88. Stephen1994 Says:

    Fire em now

  89. Dewey Selmon Says:

Licht’s 2nd rounders. lol Could of had this dude in round 3.

  90. Arian Nation Says:

    Wow!! Licht strikes (out) again

  91. Rick Says:

    Wooooow

  92. rrsrq Says:

    Well

  93. Joeypoppems Says:

maybe trading all our 2nd round picks from now on is a good idea after all

  94. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Jason sucks could have got this guy tomorrow

  95. KenfromCanada Says:

Wow, hope this isn’t like the MJ Stewart situation

  96. geno711 Says:

If you are asking who – then how do you knock the pick?

  97. TB22 Says:

    Why not trade down?

I think this kid might have been available later….just saying.

Licht is horrible. He has mailed it in.

Thank the Glazers for retaining this bum.

  98. Stephen1994 Says:

This is a joke how in the world do we take this guy right here.

  99. Zwak Says:

They didn’t even have highlight film of this guy?

    It’s a Bucs life..

  100. Jim Says:

    Some will be disappointed…

  101. Mike Johnson Says:

    Shaun Bunting? Why no Greedy?

  102. donuts Says:

Licht was outmaneuvered by the Jags…

  103. Buc4evr Says:

Omg, another Jason Gump second round disaster. We should just trade our second round away every year with Gump as GM. Speechless ……

  104. BringBucsBack Says:

Licht must be in the draft room!

  105. JabooBuc Says:

I’ll take him all day over Greedy.

  106. Rayjay1122 Says:

We need a homerun, instead we are bunting.

  107. Dave Says:

Textbook Licht in the 2nd round.

  108. tmaxcon Says:

So much for the vh3bust hype…. you can’t fix fragile, short, slow and STUPID…

  109. Buc4evr Says:

    Fire Gump now.

  110. Rod Munch Says:

The kid has good measurables, so at least he’s not slow like the corners we got last year.

I didn’t watch any film or do any prep so I’m not going to be outraged… but based on hype and value, this seems like a bad pick. If you were going to make this pick then trade back and get a little something extra.

Anywho based on the way Licht has drafted corners, and based on who he’s skipped on to draft the ones he got, I’m assuming this isn’t going to go well. But hope not.

  111. JimmyJack Says:

    I love the pick.

  112. rrsrq Says:

    Is this a Bowles pick.

  113. Buc68 Says:

Licht just lacks the mental ability to do this job. Someone needs to throw the towel in for him. Poor fella is embarrassing himself.

  114. Mike Johnson Says:

Licht just showin us, He really does suck in his 2nd rd picks

  115. Clean House Says:

Oh good we got the 10th rated corner
    Fire this mother****** already

  116. AwShbucs Says:

This years MJ Stewart. Greedy William’s is the best corner in this draft and he’s still there.

  117. Timbo Slice Says:

    Sa-wing and a miss!

  118. SOFIERCE Says:

    Who da fck is this?

  119. Buc4life24 Says:

    Who?! Really??? I hate the 2nd round…

  120. ManzielMadness Says:

Another example of Licht trying to outsmart everyone…. I’m gonna guess he was originally after OL.. and the Bills and Panthers read him like a book…

  121. donuts Says:

My win prediction went down by one to four wins in 2019.

  122. Unimpressed Says:

    Lol comical

  123. rrsrq Says:

    Nice one Rayjay

  124. Buc1987 Says:

    O

    K

  125. Jim Says:

Clever move by Jason to confuse the entire NFL…

  126. Destinjohnny Says:

So we just drafted a 3rd rounder
At least we didn’t trade up for him

  127. geno711 Says:

Everyone will go to NFL.com and act like they have knowledge on the pick by reading 1 or 2 sites!

  128. Why??? Says:

    Worst GM in team history.

  129. JimmyJack Says:

    Love it for the reaction

  130. Dave Says:

Everyone and their uncle knew were going to go OL there so they traded in front of us and got left with nothing. That’s what happens when your needs are glaring.

  131. Carrollwood Bucs fan Says:

He may be our starting Safety in 2020!

  132. TB22 Says:

The pick itself might not be bad.

But what is not in doubt is that Licht blew it my not acquiring more draft capital.

    Ugh!!

  133. rrsrq Says:

I’m thinking that we are going to trade back into the 2nd

  134. Jeagan1999 Says:

What’s our track record lately choosing DB’s? Not very good.

  135. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Greedy is afra8d of getting hit

  136. Mike Johnson Says:

So far, the Bunting kid has less highlights than any. Way to go Jason Licht.

  137. Army_bucs_fan Says:

What’s so great about bunting. Why did we not get greedy ? Fml we are screwing this draft up.

  138. BucsBandit Says:

I love all the expert NFL Scouts posting here. LOLZ.

There’s a reason so many teams are passing on Greedy Williams.

    CHILL.

  139. Buccaneerscotty Says:

After we win 5 games again they will have to fire light ! Won’t they?

  140. Jarhead Says:

I just stopped by to laugh at all these GMs in the comment section. I knew you guys would be complaining. LOL

  141. Anonymous Says:

AYFKM!!!! Sale the F#@kimg team already!!! This has got to be a F#@king joke!!

  142. Bird Says:

And then there is Gruden pick

    Wow.

  143. Matt B Says:

The Jags got our draft… Why didn’t we get Greedy? Greed is good.

  144. NYbucsfan Says:

    Trash

  145. Brett Says:

Wow dude. Two teams traded up and took OT in front of us. Both had first round grades. This corner we took had a 3rd to 4th round grade and we took him with the 7th pick in the 2nd round.

  146. Dom>Licht Says:

Said last night I wouldn’t complain anymore during the draft…. not complaining at this point just laughing! Jags having nice draft .

  147. ARGH_M8E Says:

Way to make even the draft miserable… Just when I was trying to be positive… sickening

  148. Clw JB Says:

Horrible pick again in the second round

    He’s a 5th round talent

    We ignore OL again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to turn off the TV, they let Jason put the crayons down long enough to sneak a write in – what a joke

  149. BridleOaks Buc Says:

    Dude is a baller!!!

  150. AlteredEgo Says:

Hope it is not a continuation of the 2nd round syndrome

  151. Ready2bucball Says:

Guys ‘ Bruce k owe what he is doing however I’d have rather seen us build front to back not back to front..the corner they got is a good player tho

  152. Buccfan305 Says:

AYFKM!!!! Sale the F#@kimg team already!!! This has got to be a F#@king joke!!

  153. Tnoles Says:

Ok?????? Well I guess we trust the process???? Wow, kinda scratching my head because I never heard if this kid but if he’s good and not slow I’m cool with it

  154. Chris K Says:

Maybe Greedy Williams sucks? Seems like every team is passing on him over and over and over and over again…

  155. Bird Says:

Nobody is trying to be expert

The point is this kid could have Been had 10-20 spots later

  156. BucsBandit Says:

Mike Mayock, Draft expert working for Gruden now…

ALSO PASSES ON GREEDY WILLIAMS for the 8th ranked CB.

  157. DBS Says:

You people seem to forget who is calling the shots. It’s your new beloved HC!!!!

  158. Rod Munch Says:

Lots of people skipping on Grady, I wonder if there is something going on we don’t know about – or maybe he’s just not that good. He’s the only corner I knew anything about, had a ton of pre-combine hype, he’s 6’2 and runs a 4.3, so I really don’t know why he’s falling – but it’s not just the Bucs who skipped on him.

  159. SCBucsFan Says:

I laugh at you boobs laughing at picks when you have watched zero tape on these guys. You complain because you have miserable lives.

  160. Horice Says:

The Bucs just ruined the 2nd day of the draft for me! What a dumb a$$ John Gruden type move! Who in the hell is this guy? Is Jason aware of our HORRIBLE 2nd round picks? Joe PLEASE ask him that for the real fans that spend their money in that stadium! Whatever scout brought up that guy, should be fired!

  161. SKBucsFan Says:

Is everyone else as stunned as I am ? How is this allowed to continue. Cancel your tickets if you have them Force the Glazers to sell. This is embarrassing.
The other GM’s must laugh behind Lichts back constantly. He will go down as one of the worst GM’s in history.

  162. BucsBandit Says:

BIRD – oh nonsense. So many crybabies acting like they can scout NFL talent.

  163. Tut Says:

    I don’t know how to respond… Who?

  164. JimmyJack Says:

What is our draft grade so far? I say B+

  165. geno711 Says:

No one wants the non tackling Greedy Williams

  166. Defense Rules Says:

I’m sure we’re BOTH freaking out right now Joe. DE Jaylon Ferguson as well as CB Greedy Williams were available & the Bucs take a CB named Sean Bunting? Walter Football ranked him as the #35 CB, and projected him to go in Rounds 5-7. Who let Jason Licht, the Gambler, back into the draft room?

  167. Buchead407 Says:

This cb better be a beast Feels like a typical wasted pic by licht though I’m Trying to stay optimistic

  168. Jimmy Says:

@Jarhead Our GM doesn’t exactly have a great track record. If it looks like he reached on a player, it’s probably because he did and it makes sense for us to call him out.

  169. Bird Says:

One expert had round 1 or 2

However most had at pick 50 plus

  170. BucsBandit Says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5T1COfTaqw

  171. JameisWin55 Says:

I just don’t know what to think I waited all day and night hoping for Greedy, Ford, Risner, or Ferguson 3 of them on the board and we took who????????????? I’m just totally shock at this and ask why my team!

  172. CalBucsFan Says:

Real head scratcher, there were 7 other CB’s rated higher than him. Sure hope there’s more to this than we know now Licht!

  173. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Wt actual F

  174. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Nice to see the old JBF.com armchair GM’s providing their input.

  175. Unimpressed Says:

There’s our annual blown 2nd rounder. It’s a cherished tradition.

  176. Buccaneerscotty Says:

This guy has a 5th round grade we could have grabbed him with the 3rd pick or later ! How about a trade down ? It’s a bucs life

  177. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This is a solid pick……study up on him before you comment….

    He has 4.42 speed…..just like White @ 4.42……the fastest Buc Defenders…..

Moved up on everybody’s draft boards……

  178. Joeypoppems Says:

Remember all the rumors from months ago. Bucs wanted LB, DB, RB early. Every rumor about the Bucs has been right so far.

Are they really going to not draft a trench player in the first 3 picks?

  179. JimmyJack Says:

Bunting is a Buc. Support his ass if you know what’s good for you.

    Get to work baby.

  180. CalBucsFan Says:

This is a real head scratcher, there are 7 other CB’s rated higher than this kid!

Sure hope there’s more to this than we know now Licht!

  181. Dewey Selmon Says:

So if our corners are Davis and Hargraves, did we just draft a nickel in rd 2?

  182. Arian Nation Says:

    Wow!! Licht strikes (out) again.

Could have traded back to get that Division 3 JAG and picked up Darrell Henderson (the best RB in the draft) for nothing

    Now I’m pissed!

  183. Tut Says:

I’m not going to blast the pick because I called CB. Quick search, he is fast and a press corner…

  184. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Also LOL at everyone freaking out at a 2nd round CB like all the other ones haven’t fallen on their face before. Get a grip people.

  185. geno711 Says:

Sean Bunting on the Draft Network 48th out of 100.

  186. Bobby Says:

Yeah, apparently Mayock isn’t impressed with Grady either. If you’re going to go CB then get the one you feel is the best fit for your defense and apparently that’s Bunting. I like his tape. We’ll see how he pans out.

  187. Buc68 Says:

Well we can still blame Winston 13 times next season after we lose 34 – 28 each week.

  188. Dewey Selmon Says:

Tut, it’s easy to press when you are playing Eastern Michigan(s) most of the time.

  189. Rod Munch Says:

Ryan Smith is a great tackling corner, and he needs to be great since guys run right past him on every passing play. I’d rather have corners that can cover WRs. Again, don’t know if Greedy is any good since I watched zero film, but if the argument is he can’t tackle – so what? How about getting corners that can cover first, then teach them how to tackle.

  190. MDFree Says:

Jason Licht likes to get way too cute with these high draft picks for my taste.

  191. JustaBucfan Says:

    Really?
So we reach for a corner from an obscure school like Central Michigan that ended the season @ 1 – 11.

At least he’s already conditioned for losing

  192. Costa Rica John Says:

Read a few articles, Bunting is supposed to be the best press man corner in this draft class. Looks like we are going that way with the types of corners we have. Bunting was projected a top 40 pick with a lot of upside. Should be a starter by year two. I’m hoping he turns into a star for the Bucs.

  193. BridleOaks Buc Says:

Greedy is soft. Last thing this team needs is another dude who can’t tackle….Bunting plays violent!! We need that attitude….and he can cover…

  194. ManzielMadness Says:

How many corners do we have to draft in the first 2 rounds before we address the defensive LINE. Maybe I’m just freaking out right now but if you can’t get pressure on the QB, then it wont matter who’s back there… plus if you’re gonna go CB, why not get the guy who locked down Metcalf? Idk… just not excited…

  195. geno711 Says:

This is a real head scratcher, there are 7 other CB’s rated higher than this kid!

This is not a definite science buddy. Tytus Howard was picked at 23 in the 1st round and all lists I saw had about 5-8 tackles ahead of him as well as other Offensive lineman.

  196. Isaac haggins Says:

    Bucs Fans , As I Said !!!
I am happy w the pick though

  197. Mcruzer Says:

Jaylon Ferguson under a rookie contract was 100% worth the risk.

  198. BucsBandit Says:

@Rod Munch – the other knock on Greedy is that he often gets too handsy with WRs as he’s running to keep up with them. I think this new Instant Replay rule where coaches can challenge if there was Pass Interference when it isn’t called may have something to do with his massive fall in the draft.

  199. JimmyJack Says:

Geno the Bucs don’t pick based on Mel Kipers rating. They have their own. Every team does

  200. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

DAMN… some you need to relax. Can’t blame Licht for a “bad pick.” B.A. is doing the shopping this draft ultimately. I will ride… like many of you… for our BUCS. Trust the process
    Go BUCS

  201. rrsrq Says:

Contradicting scouting report – best coverage was zone but one of the best press man coverage. Not sure about his tackling, converted receivers may not be the best tacklers, but I am going to wait and see. Also saw him as a top 50 to a fourth round grade. What did BA call value

  202. JimmyJack Says:

    Sorry Geno……misread your post.

  203. catcard202 Says:

I swear to jeez….Why not get Greedy there??? Ludicrous.

Dion Sanders couldn’t tackle the English language (let alone a WR/RB or TE) coming out of FSU…But I think he was a pretty good CB in the NFL.

  204. DBS Says:

The excuse for all the DB was “coaching”. The talant we have is fine remember?

  205. Capt. Blighe Says:

At Least we will be able to draft the Top QB Next year.

  206. rrsrq Says:

Shout out to 49ers for allowing Reggie Cobbs son to pick

  207. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Oh he runs a 4.42 why didnt you say so!?
Why don’t we just see what Jeff Demps is doing, he runs in the 4.3s.
    Greedy ran a 4.3.
IDGAF what he runs, we plays in the MAC and was a day three value like MJ Stewart. F You Licht

  208. Petty Officer Buc Says:

There are three things certain in life:

    Death
    Taxes
Licht making a head scratching 2nd round pick

  209. Tut Says:

I’m open to the pick and cannot complain… “Bunting has continued to rise up the boards of the draft analysts. Many have him set as a second round pick. Bunting is considered one of the best press-man coverage cornerbacks in the draft.”

  210. MadMax Says:

Yeah, im not judging…know nothing about him but im at a bar on my phone with low battery….I’ll look at Bunting later tonight after I get to my comp.

  211. Daninlargo Says:

Since all off you experts don’t work in the NFL have a beer and get up when the alarm goes off at 530

  212. Tc Says:

One draft magazine had bunting as the 22nd best cb. They saw him as a 5th round pick!

  213. Rod Munch Says:

Greedy is still there, I really do wonder if there’s something going on behind the scenes with him. Everywhere I looked he was considered a solid 1st rounder – but when everyone is skipping on you, it generally means something is up.

Oh well, lets hope Bunting can come in and start from day 1, because that’s what the Bucs need since Licht didn’t get any corners in FA yet again.

  214. Tc Says:

Licht never drafts the obvious pick. Greedy will probably be like Derwin James – an all pro his first year

  215. rrsrq Says:

Bet the Pats taking Jalen Ferguson

  216. Mcruzer Says:

Bucs Bandit, I think you are 1000% correct, this is Bruce Arians’ draft.

  217. catcard202 Says:

This draft will be all NEED…

1st Rd: ILB to replace Kwon..Check.
    2nd Rd: Slot Corner…Check.
3rd: complementary RB/Slot hybrid??? Tony Pollard – MEM
    4th: 3-4 DE?? Jonathan Lebetter – UGA
5th: Small School player that no one expected
    6th: Player coming of injury
    7th: trade for late 7th & 6th Rnd pick in 2020

  218. rrsrq Says:

    Wow, still no Greedy

  219. Daninlargo Says:

Since all off you experts don’t work in the NFL have a beer and get up when the alarm goes off at 530 and have your coffee

  220. BucsFan1996 Says:

Something has to be up with Greedy Williams if teams are still skipping on him.

  221. Jeffbuc Says:

You guys kill me because you were told greedy is so good. Why have all the other teams passed. The guy we drafted is a big physical corner who loves contact. He is a press man corner. On espn pick analysis they said he is a perfect fit for Todd Bowles scheme. And he should become a starter fairly quickly. What else would you want from a second round corner. And he runs a 4.4 and has had 9 interceptions the last two years. I like the pick he fits our scheme it doesn’t matter where people had him ranked. That is a general ranking and not a individual team scheme ranking. He was probably the best available press man physical corner. Who want greedy who is scared to tackle and is a diva. Trust the process. Are linebackers and secondary just got better and those were are biggest weaknesses coming into the draft.

  222. Locked In Says:

a reach in the 2nd round, perfect

  223. BucsBandit Says:

THE PATRIOTS JUST PASSED ON GREEDY FOR CB CLOSELY RATED AS BUNTING.

Maybe these real NFL executives/scouts actually know something half the crybaby armchair Bucs fans don’t.

  224. Rod Munch Says:

On the positive side looking back the Bucs schedule and as far as opposing QB’s go, this is one of their easier seasons in a long long time, maybe Bunting will have a chance to develop before giving up 450 yards to Brees in week 5.

  225. Rod Munch Says:

Oh wow, the Browns have that guy from Mars Attack announcing their pick.

  226. JimmyJack Says:

I’m never against anybody that’s drafted to be a Buccaneer.

    Let the kid play first.

  227. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

BA- drafting for need will get you fired, you draft the best player?

    So Bunting was the BPA?

Prepare to be fired Licht Weight.

    4. SEAN BUNTING | Central Michigan 6003 | 195 lbs. | JR. Macomb, Mich. (Chippewa Valley) 6/19/1997 (age 21.86) #3

BACKGROUND: A no-star recruit out of high school, Sean Bunting was a three-sport letterman at Chippewa Valley, starring in baseball, basketball and football. He played both ways as a wide receiver and cornerback, but was better known for his offensive output, posting 51 catches for 873 yards and school-record 10 touchdowns as a senior. Bunting earned Honorable Mention All-State honors as a senior captain and led Chippewa Valley to the 2014 district championship. He was recruited by Division-II programs like Ferris State, Saginaw Valley State and Northwood, but wanted to play Division-I and Central Michigan came through with an offer a month before signing day. However, when Dan Enos resigned his post as head coach, Bunting was left in limbo. On signing day, he was set to sign with Saginaw Valley State, but held off and took one more run at Central Michigan. He visited new head coach John Bonamego, who offered him the opportunity to grayshirt. Bunting spent the 2015 football season helping at his high school and officially enrolled in January 2016. He spent time practicing at safety and wide receiver before moving to cornerback full-time during his freshman year. Bunting chose to skip his senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

STRENGTHS: Agile-footed athlete with swivel hips and balanced start/stop quickness…long-speed to recover and carry receivers vertically…above-average height/length for the position…matches up well vs. size on the outside…competes at the catch point and does receiver-like things in coverage…always ball searching…anticipates route breaks and recognizes play indicators…gets physical early in the down and takes pride in playing chippy…serviceable run defender…his coaches say he embraces leadership roles.

WEAKNESSES: Skinny limbs and lacks ideal body mass…marginal play strength and spends too much time hung up on blocks…impatient feet in press, allowing receivers to immediately gain a step…wasn’t asked to backpedal in CMU’s scheme…flexible body type, but tends to play upright in off-coverage instead of using his sink to drive…plays the man downfield, but can be late to find the ball…hands-on mentality will lead to flags.

  229. Bobby Says:

Well if he turns out to be good he’s going to a team on the rise. I like Buntings tackling skills better.

  230. Tc Says:

It’s a passing league and greedy is fast and long and you don’t draft him

  231. geno711 Says:

Was 29th rated overall player by one scout.

  232. CalBucsFan Says:

Hey geno711: I get it and agree it’s not a science, but hear me out. There are some VERY talented players still out there and can’t say I’ve heard anyone talk about this kid. He most likely would have been there in the 3rd round too, so I would rather have seen them take one of the top OL, WR (Metcalf), or RBs (Sanders) still on the board.

Besides, Central Michigan is in the MAC conference, did not play any top schools, won only one game and lost eleven, that’s right, they went 1 and 11 !!! I doubt there were that many teams lined up to draft anyone from that team.

As I said, sure hope there’s a deeper story to this than what we know now.

  233. Bobby Says:

I don’t like any corner who’s weak on tackling. We need press corners who are strong against the run.

  234. JimmyJack Says:

Licht should be fired for drafting a CB that wasn’t on the media Big Board? And you say this before the guy even sees a single play?

Do y’all even think before you share your obvisous kneejerk reactions?

  235. MadMax Says:

Winovich if he’s still there in the 3rd….

  236. Dewey Selmon Says:

Did Jim Brown say 2013 draft?

  237. BucsBandit Says:

CalBucsFan – the fact that Bunting played for a MAC conference team that went 1-11 and was a decently rated CB (top 10 at the position) for the NFL Draft by all the major scouts says A LOT about his talent.

If he played for a team that was 1-11 he was probably on the field NON-STOP.

  238. BigZ Says:

Don’t worry Buc fans will get our offensive line help from Humboldt or Hobart College in the third round

  239. Rod Munch Says:

This center drafted by the Saints looks like a skinny Carl Nicks.

  240. JimmyJack Says:

We have five young CBs on this team now. If this staff is worth a salt we can develope and play good football at that position.

  241. MadMax Says:

Yes! Liking the Bunting pick based on what im reading so far…a boom out of left field and could work out like the Marpet pick…gj Bowles! And that’d be Bowles behind it…..get behind him guys, give him a chance 🙂

  242. rrsrq Says:

Well here is the opportunity for Devin White to make the players around him better. Go Bucs. Like we have said, the defense can’t get worse.

  243. Jackwagon Says:

    Greedy sucks…stop yappin.

But Bunting could have been had in late 3rd tonight…not sure why we let Risner and Jenkins go for Bunting NOW.

PLUS…if we don’t land David Montgomery or Miles Sanders before our next pick in round 3…fat sloppy Gump Stump Licht made yet again an even bigger foolish decision.

I get Bowles chose Bunting over others..I do…just wayyyyyy too early!!

  244. Ludicrous Speed Says:

    Could be worse.

    Could be raining.

  245. BridleOaks Buc Says:

Does Ferguson last another 21 picks?

  246. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Ryan Smith is an abortion and Stewart has already been moved. I don’t know how you get to 5.

  247. catcard202 Says:

Bunting is a stud Slot CB. No doubt, just this he was taken a round early.

  248. BridleOaks Buc Says:

There was a huge run on corners….no way Bunting was going to last into the 3rd….just stop

  249. YucLife Says:

Buc fans really are the worst and theirs a reason Greedy was passed by many others… I actually really like this pick and this kid has freakish skills and could finally shore up the CB position

  250. Brett Says:

I was laughing as Gruden and the Raiders traded down twice. Then both picks were OT. Why did the Bucs like Sean Bunting better than Greedy Williams?

  251. spicoli Says:

Still a couple of good guard and tackle prospects out there. Fingers crossed the 3rd round falls into place for a good pick.

  252. Tc Says:

A reach just like all of last years picks

  253. JustaBucfan Says:

This was not the BPA at all positions when we are desperate for more than corner. Ferguson was the logical pick or even Josh Jacob were valued higher than Bunting. This was a reach. They’re all need picks

  254. Arian Nation Says:

They could have picked Trayvon Mullen, if they had to have a CB, he was probably the best CB in the draft.

He was the MVP in the National Championship game against Alabama with 6 tackles, a sack and an interception. He never got a lot of stats in college because his opponents avoided him like the plague. He ran a 4.42 which would have him the fastest CB on the team.

I guess Licht missed the championship game because he was poking around the upper Michigan peninsula for prospects and his VHS machine was on the blink.

  255. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Bunting also runs a 4.42….FYI

  256. Ludicrous Speed Says:

To listen to some of y’all you’d think the Bucs were about to do something stupid… like trade back up into the 2nd round to draft a kicker.

  257. Dewey Selmon Says:

Waiting until next year to draft a kicker, Ricky Aguayo is senior this year.

  258. Stinger0513 Says:

Don’t understand the Bunting pick. But that’s water under the bridge. Miles Sanders would be a great pick up if he is still there round 3.

  259. Rod Munch Says:

Titans already drafted a replacement for Hump… maybe we can get him back in FA next year when he’s cut after finished the season with 464 yards.

  260. Rod Munch Says:

Nearly 900 comments into draft coverage and it’s the first kicker comment I’ve noticed. Going to need a big rally to get past the over of 6.5….

  261. Confused Buc Fan Says:

It would be a complete lie if I tried to express an opinion on the player, as I didn’t watch a single CMU game in the kid’s career there. that having been said , I’ve been doing nothing but reading pre- draft coverage for months now and never heard of him once. Leads me to think that second round pick was a little early, no? As with any pick the Bucs make, I’ll root for the guy, but dang, did we just pass up a chance to improve either side of the trenches?

  262. Arian Nation Says:

The best CB on the National Champion team where opponents treated him like Derelle Reavis in his prime or some slappy from a 1-11 Central Nobody State???

    Fire Licht tonight!!

  263. Pa Privateer Says:

    SON OF A B****

    Phily took Miles Sanders

  264. JimmyJack Says:

I’m glad we went defense-defense with our top 2.

This makes you wonder who they like at DL/Edge. Remember this is a historic DL class. They gotta have a target on somebody.

  265. Rod Munch Says:

White + corner, so far the draft is going exactly as I expected.

I’m guessing an OG in the 3rd – but personally I’m getting another corner if there’s any value still on the board.

  266. Kobe Faker Says:

philly grabs sanders after trading for Howard for 5th rounder

building depth is a key and sign of a great GM

whats going to happen when Barber goes down?

we heading toward total tear down end of next year

  267. BuccoBoras Says:

I wish we could’ve traded down and still got this dude, but I’m ok with it. That report that geno put up mentioned that he was a three sport player. BA loves that in a player. Said so in his book. I watched his highlights on YouTube. He made a few pics when the QB was under pressure and forced a throw. I think that will play well with David and White, JPP and Nassib blowing up backfields (I really hope that happens). I know I’m a homer saying stuff like that but I’m ok with being called one

  268. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – If you believe the major site draft boards there’s still a good number of d-lineman still there that are highly rated for the position on the board. So short of a huge run on d-lineman they could get someone.

With that said I’m not sold they need anyone. They’re moving to a 3-4, they already have Vita and JPP and Nassib, and how often does a 3rd round DE break out and have a career worth noting? Once you’re in the 3rd you should be looking for guards, LBs and a corner.

  269. Rick Says:

G, RB? Whats the next move?

  270. Dewey Selmon Says:

If you want Henderson or Singletary this will be the last shot. they won’t make it to the 4th round.

  271. Rod Munch Says:

If the Bucs waste yet another pick on a RB then they’re really really stupid. Barber is good enough and you don’t throw away Jones already. Bucs need an OG, yet another corner, another starting LB, defensive and offensive line depth and maybe a S. RB is WAY down the needs list.

  272. JimmyJack Says:

Munch if the Bucs don’t take advantage of one of the deepest DL drafts ever I call it a mistake.

JPP and Nassib are a decent start but you gotta add talent to that group because there’s none after them.

Without knowing I would guess there’s plenty of productive passrusher in the NFL that weren’t 1st or 2nd rounders.

  273. Alstott up the gut Says:

    Zach Allen!

  274. gilhealy Says:

Rod, I wouldn’t mind if they grabbed Jamel Dean CB at Auburn. Played next to Davis. Runs a 4.30. Don’t know if he’ll be there, but a solid press corner. Big.

  275. Confused Buc Fan Says:

    Gotta go trenches!

  276. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Quick research, but from what I see only 27% of 3rd round DL go on start a game. So you got a 73% of busting if that stat is correct.

  277. Buccfan305 Says:

Season tickets should be $12 for the 100 section and booze should be free… buckle up Bucs fans…its gonna be a loooooooooong year!!!

  278. rrsrq Says:

Oh well, Hill to the Cowboys, hoping that would be trade of McCoy (if he was going to be traded)

  279. ITS ABOUT TIME !! Says:

if you connect the dots…. the modus operendam has been … sign the big contract play just enough … bide your time … each contract year … in other words …milk the cow . …. til the next contract ….. get a boo boo and ….ya gott a pay me …. maybe some real accountability will happen …play or we cut your arrsss…………

  280. JimmyJack Says:

Munch the thinking would be that drafting a DL this year would give a lower bust rate because it is a deep group…….Mabye the Bucs disagree with the consensus opinion on that. We’ll see.

  281. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – This is a high bar, but more research, there’s one DE in the HOF that was drafted in the 3rd, Elvin Bethea (never heard of him). Anywho that’s the same number of guys as were drafted in the 14th and 15th round.

In general if someone has the talent to go early, they go early, then it’s just a dart throw after the 1st round. Not saying you avoid a good player because of that, but I don’t generally think of getting good defensive lineman in the 3rd.

  282. Rod Munch Says:

Buccfan305 – The last season tickets I had, in 1997, were $150, so $15 a game. No free booze however.

  283. SKBucsFan Says:

Still no word if Licht has been fired yet. The Glazers better hurry up, Round 3 is starting soon.

  284. JimmyJack Says:

Munch……also remember that I didn’t strictly say DE.

Any Edge player will go. It could be a LB in Bowles defense.

  285. Arian Nation Says:

I don’t think this Bunting kid makes the team, any team.

He couldn’t make a real college roster.

If he gets the old Licht 2nd round pass, he’ll be a bench warmer like Spence, Jones, Stewart etc….

    Fire Licht tonight

  286. Buccfan305 Says:

    @Rod Munch

At least we won in those days!!

  287. JimmyJack Says:

Arian…….How about we just expect this kid to perform up to his draft status…….For what it’s worth most Bucs fans praised Licht when he drafted Spence. Point is that fan opinion means next to nothing for a drafted kid that hasn’t played a down of football.

  288. Rod Munch Says:

DK Metcalf is still on the board, in his profile it says he runs a 4.33 and “he’s built like Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans.”

    I’d take that.

  289. BridleOaks Buc Says:

    Arian….the kid doesn’t make the team? SMH….unbelievable!

  290. Rod Munch Says:

    Nevermind.

  291. geno711 Says:

I agree with Munch that running back is way down the list of needs.

I like still some offensive lineman and safeties.

  292. Pa Privateer Says:

Bucs will go OL in with their 3rd round pick

  293. SKBucsFan Says:

    Well there goes Allen

  294. Dewey Selmon Says:

I would take a chance on Ferguson now.

  295. Jeffbuc Says:

    Ferguson in round three please

  296. Pa Privateer Says:

Ferguson would be a great consolation prize

  297. BridleOaks Buc Says:

    Ferguson!!!!!

  298. Arian Nation Says:

    Buc’s draft grade F-

Watch Licht pick a male cheerleader in the 3rd

That’s what he got in the 2nd

  299. Joeypoppems Says:

Dre’mont Jones, Khalen Saunders, Renel Wren… please

  300. JimmyJack Says:

2nd round has been great to us. We took a corner and after there has been a run on DBs and WR.

I bet the Bucs are loving their options right now. They might even trade back.

  301. Dewey Selmon Says:

TO says Jaylon and my heart sunk. go get the Ferguson Licht.

  302. Pa Privateer Says:

G/C McGovern is still available. He would be a great pick

  303. lurker Says:

    Payasito complaining…shocker.

And he left to follow chip the dip kelley with the eagles, then I assume the 49ers. I guess his prediction of chip the dip transforming the NFL is not happening. Maybe at ucla he can do something…other than an 0-5 start.

  304. Ludicrous Speed Says:

    Chase Winovich?

  305. SKBucsFan Says:

    LMAO ArianNation

Has to be Winovich. He can get at the QB and worse case scenario he has the hair to be a cheerleader

  306. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Fudge, Polite is gone

  307. Buc4evr Says:

    Missed Polite … ugh.

  308. Joeypoppems Says:

For the love of God please don’t let the Bucs take Jaylon Ferguson…

  309. Tut Says:

Ferguson looks like the pick to\me

  310. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs on the board… quick, go to break…

  311. Joeypoppems Says:

Winovich would be a great pick

  312. Rod Munch Says:

What is the appeal of Ferguson? We’re going to run a 3-4, and he’s too small to be a DE and too slow to be a edge rusher – at least based on the numbers that’s what I’m seeing.

  313. Colonel_MP Says:

I wanted Ferguson in the 2nd. Steal if we can get him here.

  314. Arian Nation Says:

Looks like the Bucs pick during a commercial again.

  315. Joeypoppems Says:

Rams might have traded with the Bucs

  316. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

No point in even trying to guess the pick. I’m just rolling with the flow.

  317. SKBucsFan Says:

    Traded the pick to LA

  318. geno711 Says:

    Chauncey Gardner-Johnson??

  319. Joeypoppems Says:

Bucs got 94 and 99 from the Rams

  320. Rod Munch Says:

    Bucs trade: Pick 70.

Rams trade: Pick 94 and 99.

  321. Joeypoppems Says:

turn one 3rd round pick into two. I like it

  322. Jeffbuc Says:

    We traded back

  323. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Trade!

  324. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Dumb

  325. Rod Munch Says:

So basically an early 3rd for two early 4ths… It’s OK value, not bad. There seems to be a lot of players out there still, and the Bucs have LOTS of needs, so not bad.

  326. JimmyJack Says:

I don’t like the trade. Fire Licht tonight.

  327. Colonel_MP Says:

From 6 to 31 and 36 in Rd 3 … did we get more than that?

  328. Sweeptheleg Says:

    I

  329. Rod Munch Says:

Man there’s a lot of drunkards in Nashville, looks like a fun place, at least if you stay within a half mile of that downtown party area. The other of the city looks gray painted on gray.

  330. Jeffbuc Says:

Why wouldn’t Jason Licht get there 79th pick in the third. Move back 24 spots

  331. Bird Says:

    Dang

    I wanted him.

  332. Dewey Selmon Says:

    so we are done tonight?

  333. JimmyJack Says:

Licht just traded away Henderson. Fire him on sight.

  334. geno711 Says:

    Jeffbuc Says:
    April 26th, 2019 at 9:52 pm
Why wouldn’t Jason Licht get there 79th pick in the third. Move back 24 spots

probably because it was not offered.

  335. Dewey Selmon Says:

    nevermind

  336. Rod Munch Says:

Man, the Rams don’t give Gurley the ball in the SB then trade two 3rds to draft a RB… What a slap in the face. Gurley should demand a trade to the Bucs.

  337. JimmyJack Says:

    94 & 99 are both 3rd round picks.

  338. Buc4life24 Says:

Rams get 240 points and we get 232 according to one draft chart. That’s not even equal compensation…what the?!

  339. walkergodeep Says:

wait a minute we just moved back damn near 100 spots for what?

  340. Rod Munch Says:

Dewey – The two picks are technically 3rds, I said early 4ths since one would be a 4th without the comp picks and the other is the second to last in the 3rd. So still two more picks tonight.

  341. Arian Nation Says:

The stupidest GM in professional football just traded the best RB in the draft (Henderson) to the Rams for the 94th pick in the draft and a transgender cheerleader.

  342. Confused Buc Fan Says:

Are you f’ing kidding me with that trade?

  343. JimmyJack Says:

Awful trade…….This is final straw with Licht drafting. Fire him now while we can still salvage what little Licht has left us with.

  344. Joeypoppems Says:

Im going to hold out hope that Chase Winovich and Renell Wren slide to the end of the 3rd. Big upgrades to pass rush if it happens.

Then get a RB and maybe WR depth tomorrow

  345. Bird Says:

    I really wanted Henderson

  346. Jarhead Says:

Y’all some freaking idiots, that’s a damn good trade!! One 3rd turned into Two 3rd rd picks….LOL

Do y’all even root for the Bucs or just troll

  347. BringBucsBack Says:

Another favor to a NFC rival. Dreadful. Good night Buccos. Sorry we are fans of an organization that insists on torturing it’s clientele.

    APB for Eddie De!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  348. Jarhead Says:

    It’s two 3s people

  349. Jameis Almighty! Says:

    Fireeee Licht!

  350. Rod Munch Says:

BTW why did we have Dilfer announce our 2nd rounder? Haven’t we been through enough as Bucs fans?

  351. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Jason Dooofus Duncecap Licht! Go Stand in the corner for the rest of the draft.

  352. Rod Munch Says:

Jarhead – It’s really a 3rd and a 4th, at least to me, I don’t count comp picks as being part of the previous round, they’re the start of the next round.

  353. Jarhead Says:

I hear you Rod but that pick is being made tonight!! IJS

  354. Buc4life24 Says:

An early 3rd for a late 3rd and comp pick (really 4th) is NOT a good trade value!! There is a reason a chart exists with points for each pick. They aren’t equal throughout the round! Terrible trade with quality players available!

  355. Arian Nation Says:

TPD riot squad was just called to quell the riot at Buffalo Wild Wings.

  356. Pa Privateer Says:

    DREAM 3rd Round

    C/G McGovern
    DE Ferguson

  357. donuts Says:

Trade down was good move there…

  358. lurker Says:

    Lol. Changing rules.
Comp picks are at the end of the round. Just silly comments.

  359. Tut Says:

There is no way to value the trade till we see who we get in return

  360. Rod Munch Says:

I don’t really have an issue with the trade, it’s a tiny bit less than what I’d want, but it’s not awful. Plus looking at the board I didn’t see anyone real standout that fits the team. They don’t need a RB, they shouldn’t be wasting a pick on a RB, and they still need another corner and a starting LB and perhaps a starting OG and Bobo is our #3 WR (I don’t think Perriman is a legit #3, he got cut from the Redskins last year and the Redskins had the worst collection of WRs in the NFL).

  361. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Let’s see who we get before we evaluate…..players we wanted at 70 were probably gone…..so why not trade back for an extra pick?

  362. Dewey Selmon Says:

So the Rams move up 24 spots, grab Henderson pick again at 79 and only give up a comp pick. wow, and here go the other top 2 rb’s right behind Henderson.

  363. Dewey Selmon Says:

    and Winovich is gone.

  364. TB22 Says:

The Bucs have obviously improved their D as they addressed 2 need areas with their first 2 picks.

However, the problem is that Light does not maximize his draft capital.

He should have traded back and probably still would have been able to get White.
The same with the CB Bunting. No problem picking him–but trade back and get extra picks.

And yet when Light finally does trade back….he trades back too far.
Giving up the #70 pick should have garnered more than a #94 and #99.

The value just is not there.

  365. Ludicrous Speed Says:

Patriots just took who I wanted.

  366. lurker Says:

Now they can get a developmental qb with a low 3 rd pick…lol

  367. TB22 Says:

Well, Fabio is off the board.

  368. Jeffbuc Says:

We should have just drafted with our pick. Because now Licht with two picks he will for sure take a small school offensive lineman. That everyone else has rated as a 6-7th round pick.

There is more than one trade value chart.

  370. Ludicrous Speed Says:

We didn’t even get equal value in that trade. Should have also got their 6th round pick. Shows that we were more desperate for the trade than they were. And we could have had Winovich.

  371. Rod Munch Says:

You know Licht LOVES this guy…

    OG Nate Davis
    6’3″
    316 lbs
    Charlotte

I didn’t know there were any schools in Charlotte that go past 3rd grade.

  372. geno711 Says:

Goodwin and Beckwith seemed to be good 3rd round values for Licht.

Also, the Alex Cappa 3rd round value is still up in the air whether that will be value for the Bucs.

  373. geno711 Says:

I saw the Nate Davis thing also and wondered if that was a guy we were looking at.

  374. Rod Munch Says:

Licht should try to flip one of the 3rd’s for a 2nd next year…. then next year try to flip the 2nd for a 1st….

    BOOM! You just made a 3rd rounder into a 1st and 3rd. That’s value!

Right. The Bucs use the trade value chart where we take it in the rear.

  376. geno711 Says:

    chauncey gardner-johnson
    amani hooker
    deionte Thompson

    possible safeties

  377. Joeypoppems Says:

I mean, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is still on the board… what are the chances they double-dip at DB?

  378. oxycondoms Says:

i think bunting was a result of licht not being prepared of teams jumping over him and selecting but targets

  379. Rod Munch Says:

Ludicrous – Now now, it’s 2019, if you’re not down with taking it in the rear you’re literally a NAZI. Tread carefully.

  380. oxycondoms Says:

    bucs targets

  381. Buc4life24 Says:

A trade is meant for the team that moves back to get the value…not the other way around. Unless you are the Bucs GM!

  382. Jarhead Says:

I’m just here to troll the trolls!!

You guys are freaking hilarious, it’s sad that you come here to complain about everything the team does.

How is changing one third round pick into two a bad trade?? Because we moved down 24 picks?? SMH They obviously like multiple guys they believe will be there later in the round. And now they get two of them!!! Trolls

  383. geno711 Says:

Still remember Arizona wanting Ameer Abdullah as a running back and were so pissed that they missed on him in the 2nd round (Detroit 2 picks before them) and “settled” for David Johnson in the 3rd round. You never know on a lot of these guys until you seem them against the top level competition.

  384. Arian Nation Says:

Gump says, “The draft is like a box of chocolates, duh, you never know who your gonna draft.

  385. Joeypoppems Says:

  386. Tut Says:

    @ Jarhead… oorah brother

  387. TB22 Says:

This is why the Bucs pick top 5 just bout every year and haven’t made the playoffs in 10 years.

    Crappy drafts.

Because we have crappy owners who hire crappy GM’s.

    Make no mistake…our GM stinks.
    Look at the results.

  388. Buc4life24 Says:

The sky isn’t falling but the moves our GM makes are very questionable or usually doesn’t pan out. Unless the player falls in our laps. His record and ours speaks for itself!

  389. JimmyJack Says:

If the Bucs start winning does that mean Licht is not a dumbass?

  390. Dewey Selmon Says:

I just tried a dab pen for the first time in my life. I highly suggest it. lol

  391. Joeypoppems Says:

Renell Wren and Christian Miller is my new hope.

I will take the risk of Christian Miller’s knees over Jaylon Ferguson’s stiffness any day of the week

  392. Joeypoppems Says:

I also like how the entire offseason we talked about how BA and Bowles were calling the shots.

As soon as things go “bad” it’s Licht’s fault lol

  393. geno711 Says:

So for all the people that were pushing for Jaylon Ferguson in the 2nd round what do you all say now that he is still not taken?

  394. Joeypoppems Says:

I say take Ferguson in the 6th

  395. Rod Munch Says:

Nate Davis is gone… Licht is going to have to look for a D4 guy now…

  396. Rod Munch Says:

There’s literally nothing that has gone wrong.

    White was the correct pick.
Bunting seemed a bit overvalued, but then all the guys around him went right after him, meaning he wasn’t overvalued.
    Trading a 3rd for a late 3rd and a top 4th isn’t bad value.

Those panicking are fake news, more annoying than this stupid GM truck commercial.

  397. geno711 Says:

On the Chase Stuart Draft Value Chart, the Buccaneers gave up one pick worth 7.5 points in the trade with the Rams and picked up two worth a total of 11.0 points.

Bucs win trade value on that arbitrary chart. As if a trade value chart really matters – Idiots.

  398. Jarhead Says:

    Semper Fi Tut

  399. Dewey Selmon Says:

Joey, Ba and Bowles are picking the player, Licht is making the moves. we just lost out on 3 RB’s. but we’ll see what Licht does at 94 and 99.

  400. Joeypoppems Says:

Nobody was calling for BA and Bowles head when Bunting was picked, thats all Im saying.

And as far as the trade goes, would you rather trade down and get a 3rd and a 5th or two 3rds? I’ll take the longer drop for two 3rds.

Bucs have 3 picks in a 13 pick span (94, 99, 107). They could get 3 contributors in the meat of the draft.

  406. “That guy” Says:

100% I would have drafted Ferguson LONG before I traded pick 70. This is a blunder

  407. Joeypoppems Says:

    Connor McGovern
    Renell Wren
    Chauncey Gardner-Johnson

Those 3 guys can step in and contribute in my opinion. McGovern cancompete for the RG spot. Wren can develop into GMC’s replacement. CGJ is arguably the best S in the class. He can be the do-it-all type of S that Bowles’ loves.

  425. Pa Privateer Says:

I am OK with this Pick. Always need CB depth and special teams players. Size, Speed and Athleticism.

  426. Dewey Selmon Says:

If we have to pick 2 cb’s what does it say about Licht drafting all the others?

  427. Jarhead Says:

    Good pick

  428. Rod Munch Says:

If I’m the Bucs, it’s a LB, or if the value isn’t there I’m drafting ANOTHER corner.

  429. Arian Nation Says:

With the 94th pick of the NFL Draft Gump picks a Gimp!!

Brilliant, he’s only has two bad knees.

  430. LUVMYBUCS Says:

LUV the Dean pick if we were in the hunt for a Super Bowl this year.
Like the Cadillac Williams pick years ago. U can’t depend on a kid availability longterm after 3 major knee surgeries at a young age.

Especially with the following still on the board
    -D’Andre Walker
    -Amani Oruwariye
    -Amani Hooker
    -Charles Omenihu

  431. Joeypoppems Says:

for the love of god go trenches with the next 2 picks

  432. Rod Munch Says:

Dewey Selmon – All you have is Davis at corner, you can’t count on VH3 being healthy. Regardless you need at least 3 corners, and it’s unlikely VH3 is back next year. The defensive backfield tanked this team, they got pressure, they got good LB play, the defensive backs were God awful. This is needed, badly. The downside is rookie corners rarely do much, it takes a year to develop them.

  433. BucsFan1996 Says:

    More corners. why not?

  434. Tut Says:

What is that 6 DB’s drafted in the last 2 years?

  435. oxycondoms Says:

bucs just drafted the jamal charles of cbs

  436. SKBucsFan Says:

Fingers crossed for kicker or a TE

He has to go OL now. Cajuste is the guy!

  437. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    We are getting faster……..4.3 40……wow…..

This probably spells the end of one of our current corners…..maybe 2….

  438. Rod Munch Says:

oxycondoms – I’ll take it, Jamal Charles was an all-pro.

  439. JimmyJack Says:

    Glad we went defense heavy.

We got our Captain. Now keep building around him.

  440. Dewey Selmon Says:

we could of had Richer for 10 years at OL and a cb. we had to double up on cb to fix all the bums Light has already wasted draft picks on.

  441. LUVMYBUCS Says:

U can’t depend on a kid longterm availability – after 3 major knee surgeries at such a young age.

  442. Rod Munch Says:

Second kicker comment… man, going to really need to hustle to hit the 6.5 over…

  443. gilhealy Says:

Unless they liked what they saw with Cappa with those one on one’s they did with him this week, they’ll go OL with the next pick. They could be high on Leitke though. He showed some toughness last season. Sharping out of Illinois could be in play.

  444. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Is that 5 cb’s in 2 years?

  445. Joeypoppems Says:

Renell Wren please. Dru Samia or Yodney Cajuste works too

  446. Not there yet Says:

I don’t understand what they are trying to do. What is a value pick anyway? You should not be drafting for depth on day two after going 5-11 two years in a row, You should’ve looking for starters. I would love to know how they will fit Geraldine under the cap since they have completely avoided any line help.

  447. Joeypoppems Says:

    another DB, jesus christ

  448. Rod Munch Says:

There we go, another DB! BOOM!

This defensive backfield was an abortion – rebuild it!

With that said no idea if these guys are any good.

  449. TB22 Says:

    What?

    OL and DL being ignored.

Games are won/lost in the trenches.

  450. Dewey Selmon Says:

6 secondary players in 2 years. it’s like invasion of db’s.

  451. Jarhead Says:

Fix that secondary baby, I love it!!

  452. Rod Munch Says:

You don’t understand what they’re doing? Have you looked at the depth chart?

  453. JimmyJack Says:

Don’t think many saw this as the plan.

Bowles wanted to rebuild the secondary. Switching to 3-4 we all finda figured the Front 7 would get the attention.

  454. Dewey Selmon Says:

All Licht’s pick are being phases out by BA and Bowles.

  455. BucsFan1996 Says:

    Another safety? Why not.

  456. Rod Munch Says:

Defensive line you have JPP, McCoy, Vita, Nassib… what exactly is the issue? Just keep McCoy and you’re in great shape.

On the offense line they must think Cappa isn’t a bust yet.

Regardless this team didn’t lose games because of the offensive and defensive line, it lost games because it had Ryan Smith and Chris Conte starting.

  457. Pa Privateer Says:

I am not going to freak out about these picks, but I just can’t fathom ignoring the OL and DL in the first 3 rounds.

  458. Arian Nation Says:

I think a Jaws reference would be appropriate at this point.

“We’re gonna need a bigger bench!”

  459. TB22 Says:

All these DB’s are just admitting that Licht had dogspit DB drafts in the past 2-3 years.

Draft a crapload of DB’s and hope you hit on a couple.
    Good grief!

No idea why the Glazers let this guy come back.

  460. geno711 Says:

Mike Edwards — poor guy has no chance to be liked by the bucs fans as NFL.com writer compared him to MJ Stewart.

  461. Bucsdelight Says:

Interesting pick for S. CHAUNCEY GARDNER was available at this pick. But they felt MIKE EDWARDS was the better pick. Seems to be an aggressive guy who likes to blitz. I’m seeing the pattern. Wonder if we continue in Rd 4 or not.

  462. Bucsdelight Says:

This isn’t a rebuilding of the secondary, it is a complete overhaul.

  463. Rod Munch Says:

geno711 – Unless Edwards runs a 4.85 he can’t be compared to Stewart.

  464. Confused Buc Fan Says:

Bowles must hate our secondary and told BA to just blow it the F up!

  465. geno711 Says:

    Mike Edwards:
STRENGTHS: Fluid athlete to flip his hips and stay balanced mid-transition…adequate range for the position…rarely allows himself to be beaten over the top…trusts his vision and has a feel for route combinations…posted 10 career interceptions (with 146 return yards and two touchdowns)…takes accurate angles to the football in run support…active blitzer, skimming blocks to make backfield stops…excellent tackle production (318), ranking second-best in Kentucky history among defensive backs…durable and his coaches speak highly of his toughness…two-year team captain and graduated with a bachelor’s degree (December 2018).

WEAKNESSES: Average size and build for the position…lacks the recovery burst or finishing speed to cut off vertical routes…choppy pedal in reverse…resorts to grabbing when he panics…often plays too deep and allows excess spacing in front of him…needs to widen his vision…doesn’t explode as a hitter…needs to shore up his tackling mechanics in motion to avoid misses downhill…suffered a broken right thumb (January 2019) at the Senior Bowl.

SUMMARY: A four-year starter at Kentucky, Edwards covered a lot of ground as the Wildcats’ field safety and nickel defender, lining up in the slot. He didn’t miss a game the last four seasons and finished his career with 300-plus tackles and 10-plus interceptions (Wyoming’s Andrew Wingard and Wisconsin’s T.J. Edwards are the only other prospects in the 2019 draft class who can also say that). Edwards had excellent tackle production despite patrolling a variety of zones, showcasing his toughness and versatility. He is a good enough athlete that he won’t get blown off the ball, but he will labor vs. speed, giving up space vs. savvy route-runners. Overall, Edwards doesn’t have an elite trait, but his instincts and movements in space allow him to handle various secondary responsibilities, projecting best as a third safety on the depth chart with nickel versatility and core special teams skills.

    GRADE

  466. Tut Says:

There will be a fight for starters in the secondary for sure. Competition drives greatness!

  467. BucsBandit Says:

HAHAHAHA love how NFL.com (under his Profile Write-up) says his closest current NFL comparison is “M.J. Stewart” . (like geno just posted)

You can’t make this stuff up.

  468. Rod Munch Says:

Davis and Evans are the only two defensive backs on the team that you should be OK with starting, and Davis shouldn’t be a #1, at least not at this point. VH3 is a huge question mark and corners are way too expensive to buy in FA.

The Bucs have to do this if they’re going to have a chance at having a decent defense a year from now. The downside is I don’t think these young guys help much this year.

  469. King C Says:

It sure would have been good if they thought to go DB with Derwin instead of DL with Vita last year. Then this year they would have been free to draft DL instead of DB in a DL-heavy draft
Oh well. Tis the life of a Bucs fan

  470. Givinup! Says:

I’m done with these jack a$$es! One of the worst running game in the league and we draft another 3 dbs???! Go rays!

  471. Rod Munch Says:

King C – That’s a fair point, and James had more sacks than Vita last year on top of it.

  472. geno711 Says:

Mike Edwards had a 4.53 40 at his pro day and 37 vertical – so yes better than MJ for sure.

  473. geno711 Says:

So Bucs have put a first-rounder, four second-rounders, two thirds and two fourths into defensive secondary in last four drafts.

  474. Bangkok Buc Says:

    So nickel has 5 db’#s
    Dime is 6 db’s
What are we gonna be playing with 8 or 9 db’s???

  475. JimmyJack Says:

A hidden benefit to this draft is that our Special Teams better be rockin.

  476. Joeypoppems Says:

Everything Im reading about Mike Edwards reminds me of Jonathan Abram. Especially from a leadership standpoint.

I mean, I like the picks, I just think we have too many holes to go DB 3 straight picks.

  477. Joeypoppems Says:

If GMC was gonna be gone, I thought for sure they would draft a DT early to replace him. It’s a deep DL class and there are still some solid DTs left (Been saying Renell Wren all night), but I would’ve liked to see them invest more of a premium pick into it.

Gotta trust the coaches on this one

  478. BucsFan1996 Says:

So is the plan to just invest the draft capital into DBs so Bowles can reformat the secondary as they switch to the 3-4? I don’t get it.
