It Was So Bucs

December 23rd, 2018

Signature moment.

Forget the record. The Bucs will live on in local lore for one thing.

Drives submarined by dumbarse mistakes.

The first possession the Bucs had in the second half summed up the entire season. The Bucs had a first down on the Cowboys-26. It all caved in from there.

Trailing 17-13 and looking as if the Bucs had a chance to take the lead, DeMarcus Lawrence sacked America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, for an eight-yard loss.

The Bucs could not recover and then trotted out Cairo Santos for a 52-yard field goal attempt.

Naturally, Santos missed it.

This drive was the 2018 Bucs in a nutshell. A promising drive teasing Bucs fans only to mentally melt down by killing a drive with a stupid mistake of some sort (penalty, turnover or a sack).

The cherry on top of this sundae was the ever-popular seemingly weekly missed field goal.

What a joke this offense is and so is the frail mentality of the team. It’s enough to make one constantly sing alone in his truck and plaster the video all over Instagram three or four times a week.

    No way around it Joe

    Jameis is an idiot

  3. ShutTheBucUp Says:

It’s crazy how Mariota AND Jameis are both looked at as no sure thing for each of their franchises

  4. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

But But But he passed for over 300 yards and a TD.

  5. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I think Jameis will be fine, how about the bomb to Mike and the corner throw Mike dropped. Those are Elite throws, under pressure.
You want to snipe out a few bad plays but he made many many more good ones.
I still think he can be a great QB. Right now he is a 24 yr old average QB.
For what we have invested in him and what it would take to replace him, we have to see if he can progress under new coaches next year. If he regresses, we get a good draft pick to replace him.
    Or
If he balls out, then it’s a win win for all Buc fans and we have our franchise QB.
Players are a reflection of coaching so if you are going to call Koetter clueless you have to reason part of Jameis’ boneheadedness is on poor coaching.

“You need a new scheme and simplify the playcalling”

    Kobe Faker

  7. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Jamies has potential, we need to hire McCarthy or arians

    Koetter has to go

Really hard to believe we lost when our offensive line plays so consistently well.

It’s not like Jensen and Dotson have 11+ penalties EACH.

It’s not like Donovan Smith has now increased to taking about 70% of plays off.

It’s not like Caleb Benenoch is the literal definition of a turnstile.

THANK GOD we have this stellar offensive line. I shudder to think how bad this offense would look if all those things were true…

  9. Season Is Over Says:

Mr. Magoo had a delay of game on a qb sneak. Which is just about the dumbest penalty in the history of sports in general. I know the Bucs make me proud to be a fan.

  10. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Bad teams, lose more often than they are beaten. The Bucs sadly played well enough to win today if not for the handful of plays they blew to lose.

  12. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Season if you paid attention you could see he was trying to audible to a sneak. He was running to his Olineman to get the call in.
That’s the nice thing about your fans showing up to games, the noise forced us to spend longer to communicate the call.
Dirk could have called a TO ya know? Coaches are allowed to do that

  13. BrianBucs Says:

    Two Words. Nick Foles.

  14. TheNorm Says:

    @alaskan

Yea you’re right it wasn’t Winston’s faulted all. The crowd was too loud. Or the coach should’ve done something. But yep in no way at all was Winston to blame.

You people are total absolute idiots.

  15. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

I’m totally numb at this point and I’m just looking forward to the future. If the Glazers won’t sell the team to someone who will care enough and not settle for mediocrity from top to bottom, then I pray that they hire the right person for the job. Lord knows that we have been down and out for too long. I’m tired of hearing ‘it’s Bucs life’, and being ashamed to tell other NFL fans who my team is. Sick and tired of being sick and tired behind this so-called NFL organization. Waiting and praying for a change. Go Bucs.

  16. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

TheNorm-I was talking about one play. Typical sensitive sally getting triggered by a comment hahahaha

  17. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Lol Nick Foles who couldn’t beat Mike Smith’s defense? Hahaha
Nick Foles fumbles inside his own 10 today he must be the dumbest QB ever haha

  18. bucnut2 Says:

Alaska- how about the VERY under thrown ball to win epode D-Jax. How about two TERRIBLE decisions prior to field goal attempt? 3 delay fo game penalties???He sucks!!! simple as that.

  19. Bucs 14 Says:

Magoo needs to go to another team, where he can drift into career backup obscurity. Bucs would make huge mistake keeping him. He just isn’t that good as a winner.

  20. PhillyBuc Says:

Joe you neglect to mention on that drive that America’s QB threw the ball into the dirt on the 3rd down to a wide open Godwin that would have, at the very least, made the FG try easier. But keep defending this loser and closing one eye to his consistent poor play

  21. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I can name way more good throws then you can bad…. you can single those out all you want. Fact of the matter is EVERY Qb in the league had throws they would want back or shouldn’t have thrown.
He is good!! Simple as that!

  22. Bucs 14 Says:

    @ Alaskan Abdominal Snowman

Bro, Magoo is not good. He is average. He is inconsistent. Coaching may help some, but he is like an MLB prospect that throws 100 mph, looks great, but can’t consistently hit the strike zone.

You guys who love him probably are stuck seeing him in his FSU uniform were he won all the time. College ball and the NFL are too way different levels. Magoo after 4 years is average. Admit it.

  23. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Not a FSU fan at all.
I just see the bigger picture and have no hatred for a player that commits more time to this team then any other player.
I see what is invested in him and what it would take to replace him.

We have too many holes in this team to worry about replacing a still young QB who has had terrible coaching his whole career.
You can’t call dirk incompetent and then put all the blame on Jameis.
Jameis is going to be fine.
Have we been average since he has been here? Probably yeah.
I would say he is only going to get better and I think his ceiling is still high.
How many times have we seen a young QB get a new coach and perspective change then blow up? That could be us.

  24. Troy Says:

No hate for Jameis, but it’s clear that he’s timid. I think Koetter broke his mind. QB is instinctual and he isn’t playing like that anymore. I’m not sure a new coach can resurrect Winston, but I sure like his chances of success with a new coach than with Dirk.

  25. ben Says:

Alaskan.. With so many made up excuses for Winston I bet you think he is really good in the red zone, or clock awareness , or accuracy on the long ball or like his slow release.

  26. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Ben-Got any facts or just mindless drivel from a know nothing fan?

  27. AlteredEgo Says:

” QB is instinctual and he isn’t playing like that anymore.”..disagree…that has been Jameis style all his life….in the NFL it is cold calculated scientific …like the assassins….Brady..Brees… Rogers on and on ….the kid playing tonight..the guy in his 2nd year…..

  28. rrsrq Says:

We are terribly uncreative near the goal line, DK or whoever is calling plays insist on our RB running up the gut within the 5 yard line. I also see why we do not run sceeens, we tried and Jensen whiffed on two players

  29. Troy Says:

Well, Bill Walsh said 2nd most important quality in the NFL for a QB is instinctive intuition as to the mechanic of playing quarterback. It cannot be taught or learned. I think I trust his opinion.

  30. TOM Says:

Well lets see how long they hang onto this Josh Freeman clone.
