A Riddle For The Goons

October 21st, 2018

Joe already wrote today that it was a mixed bag this afternoon for America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

In overtime, Jameis was horrific. In regulation, Jameis was pretty good (but for his weekly pick, plus one in OT). He threw for 365 yards and scored a touchdown. Not shabby. Overall he ran 10 times for 55 yards.

Today, the Bucs set a team record for most first downs in a game at 34. The Bucs had 31 in regulation. The previous record was set four times by the Bucs, last coming at St. Louis in 2015. Led by Jameis.

The Bucs had a crappy running game today (Jameis was the leading rusher). So you anti-Jameis goons, you tell Joe how a team is supposed to set a record for most first downs if you don’t have a running game and folks hoodwinked themselves into believing the quarterback was crap?

Unless Andrew Luck suddenly becomes available, Joe has no interest in trying to run Jameis out of town, sorry.

Luck?? Lol!! Isn’t HALF the qb jameis is. PERIOD!!! I’ve been pulling for him since day 1. He’s an utter bust but Indy hasn’t helped him much either

  2. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Jameis is a warrior no doubt about it. The issue is we drop back to much and put it all on our passing game. We really need more balance. Were asking Jamies to be Tom Brady and Brady wasn’t even Brady at this age. Need to take some pressure off Winston. Problem is we just dont run block well enough.

  3. Buc68 Says:

Also the Strength of the Browns is their pass Defense. They are terrible stopping the run. Yet we still couldn’t run the football. Jameis had 52 pass attempts and ten rush attempts. I thought he looked the most tired I’ve ever seen him at the end.

  4. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

If it wasn’t for Auclair we’d probably would have lost the game. Too many turnovers, the dude is inaccurate beyond all belief and has the innate ability to make poor decisions. He’s the best we have now, he is not the long term solution. I’d give the fifth yr option but unless he plays better I’d be done with him thereafter.

  5. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Right there with you Joe. This game never should have gone to overtime. A kicker making 3+ million for the season should literally never miss from 40.

WE LITERALLY POSITIONED THE BALL ON THE HASH OF HIS PREFERENCE AND HE STILL MISSED IT!

    Bucs fans make me sick.

  6. gp Says:

I sure wish DJ wouldn’t quit on his routes just as the ball is coming to him
The bomb Winston threw to him in the first half would have been a touchdown if he hadn’t slowed up the last 5 yards

  7. Troy Says:

Then you’re a fool Joe. Destined to see mediocrity in Tampa until your precious #3 is no more. He’s not an NFL starting qb. Sorry man. And it’s not about marriota. It’s about execution. He’s the most inconsistent qb I’ve ever seen. It’s so frustrating and won’t change.

  8. mark2001 Says:

No one is going to “run Jameis out of town”…. unless it is Jameis. He plays like a franchise QB, and stays out of trouble, or he doesn’t, as he will want that kind of money. One thing I know is that you can only pay one QB that kind of money…so we better be right if we “hitch our wagon” to his star. If we are wrong, this is as good aa it’s going to get….for a long time.

  9. Waterboy Says:

They have to figure something out with the running game. Winston passing 50+ times in a game is not a formula for success. Barber was getting hit in the backfield way too often.

  10. Sharkiebucfan Says:

Joe, it’s a little harsh to call the haters goons. I would refer to them as “ignorant” football fans.

  11. PSLBob Says:

How many of those first downs were gimmes because of Cleveland penalties? A of earlier games that the Bucs lost, they should have won, particularly the Pittsburg game. Without a doubt, today’s game they should have lost, but they won. Go figure!

  12. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

I want to ask the JW apologists what criticism is valid and the overly critical people what praise is valid. Seems like there is no balance these days.

He has thrown 6 picks in 10 quarters of play. That’s a rate of about 38 for 16 games. Very, very bad.

  13. Pit Says:

who said the Bucs care what Joe thinks….

  14. LakeLand Says:

With Cincinnati, Carolina, Washington coming up

13 turnovers in 4 games won’t cut it
And let’s not forget the final 5 games of the season
When the playoff race get heated

    Week 13. Carolina
    Week 14. New Orleans
    Week 15. Baltimore
    Week 16. Dallas
    Week 17. Atlanta

    These games can be won
    But not with turnovers
These teams are not the Browns

  15. WalkdaPlank Says:

    No. 1 overall pick

    4th year

Other QB’s have done more with less. Jameis is a turnover machine. With one of the very best receiving corps in the game.

  16. Rod Munch Says:

The anti-Winston crowd are just triggered morons and anti-Winston zealots, there’s really no reason to listen to them since they have nothing to say. They just repeat themselves over and over and over again to the point they believe it. So just like in politics you’re never going to change their mind – so don’t bother trying, just call them names, say something to trigger them, then when they respond with the same copy and paste thing they always say just tell them they already said that.

  17. Rick Says:

How can in year 4 still be so careless either the football? True when you throw more you’re more prone to mistakes but throwing as your getting sacked, taking sacks in critical moments. This is who Jameis is. He will only get worse from here. Bottom line is, we will never have a significant season with Jameis Winston.

  18. Fartman Says:

He’s the second best qb on the roster.

  19. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Another riddle. Do the Bucs sign another kicker tomorrow morning? I say YES!

  20. Season Is Over Says:

Winston looked like Marino and Manning out there if we go by the numbers.

  21. Wausa Says:

The lack of running game, gives a huge advantage to the defense.
Jamies should be the Bucs QB for a long time.

However, Jamies did not play well in overtime, but he took the Bucs on what should’ve been the game winning drive in regulation and then did it again in overtime.

  22. SilverBuc Says:

WalkdaPlank, Jameis and the Bucs won tonight, how you like them apples? 😀

  23. ben Says:

Winston will be a great 2nd string !!

  24. D-Rome Says:

James Winston: 5 TD, 6 INT, 0 Player of the Week awards.

Ryan Fitzpatrick: 11 TD, 5 INT, 2 Player of the Week awards.

Keep telling me he’s a franchise QB. He hasn’t even had a better season than his own backup. He doesn’t compare to the young stars in the NFL playing the position. He’s not a top 20 QB.

  25. BringBucsBack Says:

    “A Riddle For The Joes”:

Post the stats of Fitz’s first 2 full-game starts (against a playoff team & SB champs) vs. #3’s first 2 full-game starts (against a playoff team that had a dreadful defense and the Browns who are a good, not great, defensive group) and the outcomes (both having the same weapons & run-game and all).

    Apples to Apples.

  26. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Plays well but loses and stats don’t matter.

Has a rough game but win and it’s all about the stats.

Typical mouth breathing, drooling bucs fans.

  27. WalkdaPlank Says:

    SilverBuc

I like it a lot actually. Ugly win but a win. But beating the BROWNS doesn’t make the Bucs a good football team nor Jameis a good QB.

  28. SilverBuc Says:

Bucs win!! Bucs win!! Jameis wins!!

  29. Architek Says:

    Broken record around here

  30. NPRSageBoy Says:

Per Koetter news conference after the game, the play which America’s Turnover Machine was sacked was NOT the play Monken called. Koetter wants to know why. He said that!
Did the great Jameis decide he wasn’t going to run the play called? Unless he has a damn good reason, that’s insubordination and he needs to be disciplined.
He’s NOT good enough to freelance. In fact, he’s terrible at it.
Mayfield looked like the 4 year vet and not the rookie.
    Franchise QB my butt.

  31. SilverBuc Says:

    Mayfield lost, he’s garbage

  32. BigScott55 Says:

It’s that awful sports radio station 620 wdae that stirs all this up. I can’t stand Clayton and [Not cool. — Joe]!

  33. BrianBucs Says:

    Joes

Sometimes when you post something like this, I can decide if it is your fanboyism and bias that is showing, or just your football ignorance.
But then I remember that you are the same guys that badly pined for Johnnie Football Manziel and I realize it is neither.
As Joe once explained to me, this is a business and all about the “clicks”. With Winston and Manziel both being very Polarizing figures with questionable talent, they are both clickmagnets, as we all will keep voicing our opinions, debating and running up the revenues.
So You Go Joe’s! You have found your moneymaking formula, and we all understand why you don’t want Winston run out of town. Then you would have to find your next, new cash cow.
Even though we all enjoy this or we wouldn’t be here, the only thing I ask is that you not insult the intelligence of the real, experienced and knowledgeable football fans who actually know what they are watching.
Thank You and keep up the good work

  34. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I thought Mayfield missed more throws than Jameis today but I guess that’s just me.

Maybe if Jameis had a lighter complexion he’d get more credit for the things he does well, and less overblown exaggerated blame for his shortcomings.

  35. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis is simply too inconsistent for me….he was like that at FSU and every year here…Move On .Bucs

  36. WalkdaPlank Says:

Rod by any chance did you happen to be a big Josh Freeman fan?

  37. Greg Taylor Says:

Joe he has turned the ball over 7 times and played 2 1/2 games!!! He sucks! Were in a pass happy league and yes were forced to throw because of no running game. To boast yards and 1st downs but not score one passing TD but threw 2 ints and a fumble is bad. Not being able to hit wide open receivers is BAD. Having no touch on the ball or accuracy in his 4th year is BAD. Any quarterback can throw 50/50 balls to Evans and Howard, and Godwin. Its time to cut ties so we can find a real QB. My God Joe your bragging about his rushing yards? Seriously?

  38. SchwiftyBuc Says:

It’s also worth mention that the Browns defense led the league in Turnovers generated before today’s game began.

But who cares about context right?

  39. LakeLand Says:

The Browns should have kept Tyrod Taylor as the starter. He gave them the best chance to win.

  40. Destinjohnny Says:

We have to start planning for a franchise qb

    https://youtu.be/nMw1FcmLay0

  41. Rod Munch Says:

    You already said that.

  42. WalkdaPlank Says:

    SchwiftyBuc

Gtfo with that race card stuff. Winston could be purple and people would still not be happy with him. Maybe if he wouldn’t give the other team the ball so much more people would like him.

  43. Greg Taylor Says:

    test

  44. AlteredEgo Says:

Watch the Kansas City rookie tonight…..Move On . Bucs

  45. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Well then next post do one on horrible the bucs gm is when he cant see thst the OL is garbage that there is not a legit NFL starting rb on the roster, if jameid is in your opinion a WINNING NFL QB then call out the bucs gm for the absolute worst FA and drafting moves in the NFL

  46. WillieG Says:

We need to trade Winston. I’d take a 3rd round pick for him. He continues to make the same stupid mistakes. He continues to overthrow receivers. He continues to miss one of the best weapons on the team, D. Jackson.

He is not a franchise QB. Fracnchise QBs don’t play like rookies 4 years into their career.

  47. J Says:

Tua will make you want to ditch JAboob. 2020

  48. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

LMAO! Exactly what this team needs is an Alabama QB….

  49. cmurda Says:

While our kicker made a ridiculous GW FG, it also led to an extended game that never should have happened. Misses an XP and a GW FG in regular time. Look at Justin Tucker just cost the Ravens extending their game into OT. The good ones aren’t immune to it either.

  50. J Says:

Brian. Well said. Tank for Tua 2020

  51. Vivian Says:

JW threw 52 TIMES. You can’t expect no interceptions or sack fumbles if your qb throws 52 times.

  52. PSLBob Says:

I also have a legitimate beef with the Bucs. Why won’t someone give Gene Deckerhoff his Kudos and award for an outstanding career and then put him out to pasture. I’m one of those lifelong fans who lives on the east coast and has to listen to most games on the radio, as Dolphin mania abounds over here. It’s bad enough to listen to the sorry play, but to here it from Decerhoff’s perspective will make you throw your iPhone through the window. He misses the calls on about 50% of the plays. It’s a CAAAAAAATCH! No wait, he dropped it. FIRST DOWN BUUUUUUUUUCS! Well looks like it’s just a bit short. Etc. etc. And he misses players names so often, you’re not sure if you know the players right name. Ryan Jennings is frequently Ryan Jenson. And he really had it in for Payton Barber today. Once Barber got tackled in the backfield for a loss, and he said Peyton Manning is tackled for a loss. Then later when Barber was involved he called him Sean Payton. COME ON MAN! Seriously, it’s time to hang up the mike Gene.

  53. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I am white, don’t even watch CFB except in the NFL offseason to study for the draft, never bought into the Freeman hype, and I’m a huge supporter of Jameis Winston.

Funny how for a guy that’s so inaccurate and not getting any better, his completion percentage has improved in each an every year. From 58.9, to 60.8, then 63.8, and currently stands at 69.0 percent.

Experience and growth are the best teachers. Jameis is has just over 3 years of NFL experience to Fitzpatricks’ 14. Haters, mark it down. This will be Jameis’ best year as a Buccaneer. He’s not going anywhere.

  54. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I wouldn’t run Jameis off….but I sure wouldn’t pay him a fortune either…..he and his agent know he hasn’t earned it……he is far too inconsistent.

Just too many turnovers and bonehead plays mixed in with great ones…

Our Oline is not good at all…..it can’t run block and the pass blocking is very inconsistent.

That must be addressed in the draft….(with perhaps our 1st pick)….

  55. PSLBob Says:

Got Jennings/Jenson backyards. See what I mean, it messes with your head.

  56. JimmyJack Says:

Honestly this team has a ton of problems. Winston’s turnovers are surely one of them but it’s way down on the list.

This team is light years from I’m contending in this league. It doesn’t matter whose behind center…….Put Tom Brady back there and give him a comedy of errors to play around and he aren’t going to win us anything either.

  57. Resurrection of Duff Says:

4th Year Quarterback not America’s Quarterback.

4th Year Quarterback Jameis Winston making rookie mistakes in overtime. SMH

Throw the ball away. Don’t get us out of field goal range!!!!!!!!

Sacked twice in a role!!!!!!!!!!!! Get rid of the ball!!!!

I feel bad for season ticket holders. At least we won. SMH

  58. Season Is Over Says:

Are we complaining about the running game now?

  59. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Jameis is improving. That’s the best thing we can say about him right now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  60. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    WHAT running game?

  61. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Bucs only team to beat the Saints so far because we are ELITE

  62. Rod Munch Says:

When Winston was drafted he was known as a gunslinger who would turn the ball over, in the mold of Brett Favre.

You know, Brett Favre, the guy who would turn the ball over 5 times against those great Bucs defenses and yet somehow still have the ball at the end of the game with a chance to win it.

You know, Brett Favre, the NFL’s all-time turnover leader.

That is who Winston is, and when he ignores the coach and plays to win, instead of being told to play for FGs, we know what he does since we’ve seen it. However when you have morons who say the top thing in football isn’t winning, it’s not turning the ball over, then you end up with loser mentality idiots who are happy to lose 21-10 so long as you don’t turn the ball over.

  63. JimmyJack Says:

Ressurrection…….Winston has to be accountable for taking the sack no doubt………..But I for one don’t appreciate our RT backing right into Winston’s face before the ball even gets snapped…….. It’s supposed to be the other team creating havoc. When it’s your own team it’s inexcusable and a losing formula.

  64. Dan Says:

Think about it. The reason we have to make excuses for Winston is because he’s terrible. If he was good we wouldn’t even be discussing it. He’s awful.

  65. Gobucs Says:

4th year and STILL making the same stupid decisions and yet you FSU morons still defend his every move like a bunch of blind stupid rats.

He’s not elite in any way.

He’s average and the sooner you idiots accept that the sooner the fan base can become one. But you FSU nut huggers think he’s the messiah of QB’s. You complain about how many dropped passes there are and then say “well you’re gonna have int’s when you throw 52 times” well you’re also gonna have dropped passes. Bunch of idiot hypocrites.

    Bunch of morons

  66. LakeLand Says:

    JimmyJack

New Orleans and Carolina came back to win

We have a long way to go

If we want to play in January

  67. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Agree 100 percent Rod. I guess I’m just beginning to accept the fact that some people will only ever see Jameis for his faults while some see the complete package.

  68. JimmyJack Says:

Shut up about Brett Farve you idiot. Go lay with your Packers snuglie and have a wet dream about Brett Farve on your own dime.

  69. richardtyson Says:

We lose and JW3 has good stats and the haters say the win/loss column is all that matters. We win and JW3 has bad stats and the haters say stats are what matters. So which is it?

  70. Gobucs Says:

If he was elite or a true franchise QB then these questions wouldn’t be asked. It would be obvious. And no one besides FSU nut huggers believe the answers are there. We’re still waiting in year 4 for him to make that jump. By year 4 an elite QB is easily recognizable.

It’s amazing the lengths you idiots go to to defend an average QB just because you’re an FSU fan. If Winston went to UF you same defenders would be screaming from the rooftops.

  71. LakeLand Says:

There’s been some good defensive games today

  72. JimmyJack Says:

Lakeland……….This team is not anywhere close to ready to play in a big matchup. I almost don’t want to see is get a chance…..Based on the last month of performance it would be an utter embarassment

  73. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

rod munch your out of your skull comparing winston to favre, winston is maybe andy dalton and thats a stretch

  74. BucsBandit Says:

    LOL LOL LOL

Joe – how do you even have a “Bucs Reporting” web site?

    This is INSANITY.

Jameis Winston is a MEDIOCRE starting NFL QB. Anyone that can’t see that is either lying to themselves or hasn’t actually watched the NFL for very long.

Winston has a VERY LOW FOOTBALL IQ. He consistently makes bad decisions. Not taking care of the ball, silly fumbles… and today taking 2 terrible sacks to knock them out of FG range — something you’re taught in junior high school football.

Winston has CAREER totals of 1,700 pass attempts and averages over 3% INTs per pass attempt. This about ***30 PERCENT*** worse turnover efficiency than the Top 10 starting QBs in the league.

So he once again threw for big yardage today… BIG WHOOP. He threw the ball over *50* times.

Jameis Winston, now in his 4th NFL season, has truly been EXPOSED for his limited throwing ability…

He is a FLAT TRAJECTORY passer and lacks the ability to throw the ball on much of an arch; hence the reason he rarely ever completes a Deep Pass unless it’s thrown on a straight, lower trajectory.

Because of this limited throwing style, it’s very hard to complete a RB wheel route up the sideline where it needs to drop straight down over a LB in coverage.

Winston throws many INTs due to this fact. The INT intended for OJ (that he probably would have scored on) didn’t have the natural high arch it needed to reduce the risk of being picked off. Not only did it come up short, watch it again… it was thrown with very little arch in the first place (which gives the fast NFL defenders the time to cut-off routes).

The top QBs in the NFL have a well-rounded skillset of different types of throws… touch passes, bullets, and higher arch passes. They’re ALL needed in order to be successful, and Winston does NOT have a higher arch trajectory throw. He just doesn’t.

He’s in his 4th season and has plenty of time to adjust to the NFL game and adjust his throws. He HASN’T been able to do so and continues to throw lots of INTS as well as cost his team opportunities.

Winston is a solid, middle-of-the-pack, NFL QB but he will most likely never be ELITE and lead the Bucs on a deep playoff run.

The STATS and GAME PLAY don’t lie. You should be ashamed at yourself for trying to imply that Bucs fans that actually SEE AND KNOW FOOTBALL are just hating on Jameis just for the sake of doing so, and not actually giving analysis on his CONSISTENTLY POOR play.

  75. JimmyJack Says:

Gobucs………there’s no defending anybody on this team with the kind of football they have played in the last month.

I might give a exception to JPP.

  76. ATrain Says:

    Jamies throws today were horrible
    High
    Short
    And a couple of ducks

I don’t understand why a QB who is a 1st pick throwing like this

Have you seen Mahomes or Geoff

    His choices are questionable
    His throws where not good

  77. LakeLand Says:

Mason Foster is still going strong in the middle

  78. ATrain Says:

Why do my posts take so long to come up???

Am I bashing the Americans QB to much

  79. lurker Says:

how many first downs came on penalties?
the browns bailed us out too.

whichever joe this is must drink before the game and his beer goggles make winston something he isn’t.

a goon for wanting and deserving an above-average franchise qb? silly.
C+ indeed. 4th year and not progressing, regressing even.

  80. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis was our leading rusher today #heismanpose

  81. LakeLand Says:

    Dusthty

Andy Dalton is a playoff QB
He may not win a playoff game
But he will get you there

    4 playoffs appearances

  82. Oxycondoms Says:

There’s far worse starters in this league then Winston . Like Joe said people expect he can be replaced by Andrew luck no problem

  83. Ndog Says:

We have the worst fan base in the league period. We complain no matter what, we lose with a QB with ridiculous stats we say he can’t win, we win with a QB that literally accounts for 90% of our offense when the defense know we can’t run the ball and we complain and say he sucks. You people want absolute perfection which is just idiotic but then again consider the source. BTW the way anyone bother to notice that the dline came alive today and a certain superhero was not on the field?

  84. LakeLand Says:

Jay Gruden coach as bad as his big brother

  85. Hodad Says:

If Jameis doesn’t rush for those yards we lose. He was amazing running for his life most of the day. How about instead of running Jameis out of town we provide him with an O line that can block! D. Smith was horrible today, Benenoch, and E. Smith together don’t equal one good L.G., and Dotson is on his last legs. Get a G.M. who can build a solid team, not a new Q.B. who’ll be hunted to death.

  86. Gobucs Says:

    7 turnovers in 2 1/2 games.

But I’m sure not a single one is his fault right Vivian?

    Read that again.

7 in 2 1/2 games. That pathetic and we deserve better. We shouldn’t settle for average just because he’s better that what we had before. That’s a horrible mind set.

  87. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Jay Miss is what he is. An average NFL Quarterback who should not have been drafted #1 overall, especially with the off field stuff. He wasn’t accurate in college. He threw 50/50 balls to Kelvin Benjamin and Green. He also had O’Leary for a year. The guy just doesn’t have it. He’s ok, but he’s not ever going to lead our team to a Super Bowl, and probably not even a playoff berth.

  88. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis is the QB this city needs, just not the one it deserves…

  89. LakeLand Says:

    He missed

    He saved Jay Gruden

  90. JimmyJack Says:

Licht gets nothing but critism from the fans. And many don’t wanna give any credit for any success he has so I’ll do it for y’all and give him a pat on the back for overhauling our Dline in one off-season.

The Dline won us the game today too. Imo

  91. Gobucs Says:

He’s peaked and no way will the Bucs win a super bowl with someone that turns it over as much as he does. Or rarely hits someone in stride or complete a deep pass.

Do you people not see this? How are you all this blind?

He literally can’t hit a ball over 15-20 yards accurately. And even those are not great. His receivers are getting hit pretty hard after his passes.

And you can see the frustration from djax and Evans. Am I this smart or are you all this stupid?

  92. JimmyJack Says:

Our defense gives us a fourth? Fifth straight with in the turnover Dept. Turnover on downs not considered by me.

  93. JimmyJack Says:

    Wiff**

  94. donuts Says:

Favre, who is in HOF, win percentage is .618. Please don’t compare Winston to Favre.

  95. Gobucs Says:

The defense looked much better today. Thanks Duffner for being more aggressive.

  96. Gobucs Says:

Favre and Winston shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence.

  97. JimmyJack Says:

Gobucs try giving Winston’s spreadsheet a look. You put the play in front of him and he is deadly accurate……..just like in 2015 when he was destroying teams on the seams.

But since Dirk has taken over he has called nothing by sidelines. Dirk is not playing to Winston’s strengths and has failed to do what he was hired to do, develope Winston.

  98. jb Says:

If the Licht extends Winston’s contract this team will be wallowing in mediocrity for the next 10 years, as opposed to wallowing in mediocrity for the next 5 years. There are High School quarterbacks that throw a more accurate long ball. Not to mention his pocket awareness seems to be left in the pants of that Uber Driver out in Phoenix.

  99. SilverBuc Says:

It’s so good to see the Bucs and Jameis get that W tonight despite the fans desire to see them lose, smh

  100. SeffnerBuc Says:

All this negativity confuses me…whenever anybody brings up numbers to support their argument that Jameis is good, the other side simply argues that it isn’t about numbers…it’s about wins. But, when the Bucs DO win, the first thing they want everyone to know was that it had nothing to do with Jameis. You can’t have it both ways, people.

  101. jb Says:

WHO here is comparing Winston to Favre? Vinnie Testeverde maybe….but not a HOF Gunslinger. Winston as a gunslinger wouldn’t be able to walk with his toes shot off trying to get that gun outta his holster.
    Winston = Favre………….Completely laughable!!

  102. JimmyJack Says:

Jb…..really bro? You really think this team is a QB away from contending? I guess we can all have our own opinions but I think you might be out of your mind bro. I’d say we’re closer to being a bad quarterback away from the worst team in the league then the other way around

  103. FairMinded Says:

Bunch of negative nancies on here after a win. Good on the Joes for calling them out!

  104. BigMacAttack Says:

I really think Jameis can’t see. Does he wear contacts? He seem to have a problem with depth perception and distance. He did look out of shape and tired late in the game. He seemed to be a hiding a limp as well. And injured ankle or leg could explain some of the bad throws late. But it was so impressive to see the defense stop the Browns every time they got the ball in the first half. It’s time to activate Beckwith though.

  105. Kgh4life Says:

If the Bucs do get rid of Winston and draft his replacement in the first round, those same Winston critics will call for the “head” of the young QB anytime he makes a mistake.

  106. Alanbucsfan Says:

PSL Bob – if you have tune in radio, listen to opponents radio call. Browns radio was very good today

  107. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Lakeland your right on andy dalton … ol licht let mason foster dj swearinger mark baron and donald penn more grear licht personnel moves

  108. Resurrection of Duff Says:

Yep! Just like Johnny “football “ Manziel Jameis will give you plenty to write about.

  109. SilverBuc Says:

Lmao at haters saying he looks “out of shape” and “tired” when he was the teams leading rusher!! #truewarrior.

  110. John Says:

Joe we all know how you love Winston…the fact is he’s only an average Quarterback if not below-average quarterback he’s not very good….he throws numerous interceptions fumbles the ball left and right he doesn’t remain aware as to where they defensive players are in relation to him which causes so many fumbles interceptions and he simply does not learn from his mistakes….. He does not make wise decisions and he’ll never be a household name as a productive quarterback like a Peyton Manning or Brady or Steve Young he’ll never be great he’ll be an average serviceable Quarterback…..
Furthermore this guy should not be the face of the franchise….he’s doing the same thing now as he did in college even though he did get the Heisman Trophy I will give you that but interceptions fumbles just not a good quarterback Under Pressure he has his moments but those are streaky
What we should do is trade him to Oakland for a pile of draft picks Jon Gruden loves Winston he would pay a fortune for him we could get rid of him and we could get a new quarterback with all the talent we have on our team on offense we would have a championship team a little tweaking on defense but Winston very doubtful it Winston is going to get you to the promised land and if you do get their doubt he can complete the dealo

  111. Gobucs Says:

    @jimmy

    Deadly accurate? Are you serious?

Literally no one outside of Tampa would say ever that he’s ever deadly accurate? People who get paid to watch film would never use that phrase with Winston. That’s hilarious. I don’t need to see any spreadsheet. I know what my eyes see and it’s not deadly accuracy.

7 turnovers 2 1/2 games. That horrendous and you defend it with terms like deadly accurate?

Why do I lower myself to speak to people with such a low IQ?
If he went to UF you would be totally opposite in your analysis jimmy jack.

    You’re a hypocrite

  112. Bird Says:

    Goon

    Ok moron

I think bigmacattack needs to get the joes glasses as well.
I can’t believe you see something elite there. And continue to put up stats and make excuses time and time again.

I feel bad for monken. He has to call plays based on Jameis s highs and lows . You think mike Evans and desean Jackson consider him elite? You want to give him 100 mil plus just cause you named him America’s qb Shame shame shame

  113. SilverBuc Says:

Man, it must REALLY suck to be hating that the Bucs and Jameis won tonight! 😀

  114. BrianBucs Says:

If the Bucs main concern was a winning season or making the playoffs instead of just trying to promote Winston, then Fitz would be the starter as he runs this particular offensive scheme much better than Winston.
Even though he is still a young rookie, I would much rather have Mayfield in ref and pewter than Winston. The kid is a winner with that “it” factor that Winston doesn’t have plus a huge upside. After he has been in the league 4 years as Winston has, he will be much better than Winston is now and will have won many more games. Winston is just Not a championship winning franchise QB and probably never will be

  115. Bird Says:

Great between the 20’s and that 15-25 yard pass.
    Jump balls don’t count.

    Otherwise just ehhh

  116. Jeagan1999 Says:

Sorry, I’ve given it nearly 50 games….and I just don’t see it. Jameis is an average NFL QB at best. Still makes too many poor decisions (on and off the field), forces too many throws he shouldn’t try, and is too prone to turnovers. I’m just not sure he’s ever going to be any more than that.

I would not pay him$25-$30 million a year….not based on what I’ve seen from him so far.

  117. SilverBuc Says:

The Bucs on pace to have a record setting passing attack but haters wanna hate, lmao

  118. BucsBandit Says:

    JAMEIS WINSTON – AMERICA’S FAVORITE DESSERT…

    THE APPLE TURNOVER.

  119. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs are not going to the playoffs this season
I’m making this prediction with 10 games to play

  120. Gobucs Says:

    7 turnovers in 2 1/2games

  121. DBS Says:

Munch. You mean like your copy and paste about Koetter and his kicking rather than going for it?

  122. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Give Jameis 5 years 90 million.

  123. JimmyJack Says:

GoBucs you did not read my post nor do you probably understand it. when you’re ready to have a real back-and-forth conversation then let me know……. Otherwise I will tell you how wrong you are but won’t respond with your silly rebuttals……….. Either read what I wrote and make sense to the topic at hand or talk to yourself. That is if you can

  124. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

LOL at the moron suggesting we trade JW for a 3rd rounder. Mike Glennon was a scrub taken in the 3rd round. Name any decent QB taken in the 3rd round??? We have the dumbest fan base in the league!

  125. LakeLand Says:

    Gobucs

The Bucs offense has 13 turnovers in 15 quarters

  126. Gobucs Says:

No because no matter what you’ll defend him to the death so it’s pointless.

You’re blind. Can’t have a serious conversation with the FSU homers because nothing will get through. Everything is someone else’s fault. You all believe he’s elite even though literally no one else besides Winston’s fans believes that.

The blinders are always on and you’d rather fall on the sword than to admit your boy is just average.

  127. JimmyJack Says:

First off I don’t even follow college football. and if I had to choose a team if you to Gators because I got more friends that are gators than any other team.

Secondly I’m not blindly defending the guy. Show me once where I defended his play from today? Where can you?

  128. Season Is Over Says:

I would like to see every throw by Winston today broken down for accuracy. It would make someone hurl their $15 beer.

  129. J Says:

Just wait Scotty. Maybe you haven’t seen the throes he makes

  130. JimmyJack Says:

And again his numbers in the post are among the best in the league. Alls I’m saying is why we don’t throw more posts and seams……. but I’m going to go out on a wild limb here and say that you didn’t look up the numbers I was talking about nor will you ever look them up.

It just makes for a very dumb conversation when you ignore a valid point

  131. Nic Says:

At one point in the game, the commentator said “Winston up to this point in the game has been accurate all day”, and I nearly spit out my drink. Nearly every single completion caught a receiver off balance, breaking stride, or jumping for the ball. I feel like this has been the same since he was drafted.

I’ll give him his kudos, he showed great mobility in the pocket, and he ran for a lot of yards. He’s the better of the two quarterbacks on the roster, but I will be sorely disappointed if he gets a long term deal unless he miraculously fixes his accuracy issues.

  132. Rod Munch Says:

Just keep in mind these anti-Winston morons are the same morons who say Mariota is the better QB, they’re really that stupid.

So again, don’t bother arguing with these morons, they’re zealots, they have no desire to change their opinion since they’ve repeated the same thing so many times they now believe it. Instead, as I said earlier, mock these morons and call it a day, there’s zero reason to engage in a debate since this, to them, is the same thing as politics and religion, you can not change any minds and the more you engage them in talk, the more they will dig in.

So come up with a creative way of telling them to off themselves and move on to another subject.

  133. SKBucsFan Says:

I am not a Winston fan. His shortcomings are being exposed weekly in the NFL.
However, we have bigger issues that need to be addressed before we replace America’s bad decision making turnover machine. I know the quarterback is important, but let’s suffer with what we have and re-build the trenches. We will win a few more games and aren’t likely to get a nfl ready quarterback with our pick. Why not stick with Winston and find an anchor for the defense or offensive lines? Besides , it makes for good reading on here.

  134. Desanova Says:

I thought it was all about the Ws? Well he got one. Now some want it both ways – a W and a perfect QB rating. Sorry. I’ll take the W. And yes, it was close. This is the NFL. Almost every game hinges on a few plays. Some will focus on the INTs (1 was particularly awful, yes) but he showed us today a new side – that he can really run. The TD run was great. Plus 3 drops on great passes! Yes, he still needs to dial in the long ball with Jackson and throw it away in OT, but just remember there has to be a QB back there. In reality, no one would question the top 5-6 QBs are better and no one would question there’s a good 13-14 or so starting QBs who are worse. Some would want the potential of a rookie like Mayfield, but he is worse now than JW for sure. We’re debating whether we’d rather have JW than the Prescotts, the Keenums, the Watsons and the Mariotas, etc. of the world. I wouldn’t. Whether you think they’re better or not, switching to one of them would be a setback for limited, if any, minimal upside at best. So settle in. JW will be giving you the 1-2 turnovers a game, but also 350 yards and plenty of TDs. And yes, the Ws.

  135. Jawo75 Says:

Joe you are s bonafide schmuck if you think JW is anything more than a turnover machine that can’t lead a team to victory. His intelligence level is barely above a 5th grader. No offense to 5th graders. He’s a total bust of a 1st overall pick. Bar none.

  136. LakeLand Says:

    Rod Munch

    I’m Anti-Turnover
We all agree that the NFC South is a tough division
You will not win this division turning the ball over
Unless your defense is generating turnovers (The Bucs defense is not)
Something has to give, 13 turnovers in 15 quarters

  137. SilverBuc Says:

Meanwhile, Tebow can’t even make a good commercial anymore lulz!! >:D

  138. Gobucs Says:

Who says Mariotta is better rod munch?

    Literally no one. So stfu

  139. Gobucs Says:

    Defend 7 turnovers in 2 1/2 games.

  140. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis improved his “QB win stats” tonight and the Bucs came away with the tastey W. That’s all that really matters, right Bucs “fans”? 🙂

  141. Season Is Over Says:

The riddle was solved for the rest of the fans without blinders tonight. There is still a small faction grasping for hope.

  142. Rod Munch Says:

LakeLand – I’m more worried about winning the game than winning the TO battle. The Bucs don’t have the 2002 Bucs defense, when they did, then sure, don’t turn the ball over and you win. The Bucs literally have the worst defense in football, that means you need to take chances – which is literally what Winston was drafted as, a guy who will turn the ball over AND make plays. You want Jeff Garcia, I want Brett Favre.

  143. Bobby M. Says:

Every team has the same game plan….Stop the run, let Winston pass, wait for the turnovers. The Browns executed that on defense…Winston now has 7 turnovers in 10 qtrs….We barely beat a 2-4-1 team who has more youth starting then any team in the NFL. It’s yr 4….he is what he is. We’ll go as far as our defense can take us.

  144. JimmyJack Says:

Riddles don’t get solved on week 6 bonehead…….Oh but we are Buc fans……usually we don’t get more then 6 weeks of giving a crap.

  145. LakeLand Says:

    SilverBuc ,

They are still in 3rd place in the NFC South
    And they are at .500
That’s how tough this division is

  146. Rod Munch Says:

Gobucs – Now you dishonest anti-Winston morons are going to say you didn’t want Mariota? LOL! Do me a favor and eat a box of razor blades.

    God bless.

  147. LakeLand Says:

I don’t think fans realize how tough this division is

  148. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Joe, I was never anti-Jameis when we drafted him. I see the skill-set but gimme a break!!!

I’ll GLADLY take less 1st downs than the SIEVE of turnovers that accompanies Jameis’s play. Gimme a break here!!

The amount of boneheaded errors in judgement was ridiculous today. I’ll-placed throws, Missing D-Jax deep AGAIN when he was wide open, taking sacks when he shouldn’t have, more interceptions….

This is year 4….Jameis would be a high-end back-up QB, but his lack of a mental game kills him from being a franchise QB…

Buc’s D was playing a decent game and he STILL was turning the ball over. They should have blown out Cleveland today but his turnovers change momentum and hung the defense out to dry.

Sorry to say, but time to seek a trade partner for JW3, and try to groom a new one next year. Put Fitz back in to start. He had better ball accuracy in his throws, and he & Djax have solid chemistry.

Just a thought from this here “goon”….

  149. SilverBuc Says:

The Bucs didn’t trade up for Winston, they were literally the worst team in the NFL, he wasn’t put in a good scenario like Wentz, like Goff, like Prescott, like Watson, and Mariota is failing miserably. Bucs fans should be thankful we are where we are after just 3 years with Winston. End of story.

  150. Rod Munch Says:

Bucsfan1988 – Cool story cupcake, thanks for sharing.

  151. T REX Says:

The Bucs beat the odds today. Turnovers are killer in today’s NFL.

6 PICKS in 2.5 games is bad. Real bad.

Unless he cleans it up this year and next…he won’t getting $150 mill

    That’s a fact.

  152. TBTeddy Says:

Wow I missed the game today but I’m shocked that everyone sounds like they would have rather lost this game. I personally like Jamies as a QB but I never expected him to be the next Drew Brees. Yeah Jamies May be below average when it comes to deep passes but I honestly never thought was his game. He’s more in the Peyton Manning mold (short passes, 3rd downconversions, and eating up the clock). So the offense we run doesn’t seem really fit for Jamies. Now I’m not saying JW is a future HOF but if you pay attention to league most teams don’t have a real franchise QB. Yet so many so called bucs fans act as if there’s a bunch of Aaron Rodgers sitting around waiting to be picked up. We’ve had horrible coaches, bad OL/running game, awful kickers and the worst defense since he’s been here. Y’all act like we just started sucking when Winston got here. Where’s mike glennon again?

  153. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Rod Munch, you’re quite welcome Cupcake 😬👌🏻

  154. CaptBuc Says:

This is coming straight from the biggest FSU homer on this site. Look the 2013 FSU team both made Jameis and broke Jameis at the same time. The talent on this team that translates to the NFL is unmatchable and have Jameis the opportunity to do what he does and that is a high risk game of football. The team would not only bail him out but cover up mistakes. It doesn’t work like that in the NFL it seems. Jameis is a fierce competitor and wants to win every Down and every play. You can’t turn that “ switch “ off in someone and I believe we are now witnessing the regression of Jameis Winston. You can clearly see that Jameis is in his own head and this is a big issue. If anyone who watched that game today thought that this output was comparable to how Fitzpatrick ran the offense… I would only suggest that there is a bias in play. The same bias I had when I was convinced Jameis would be a super bowl winning QB. If I were Koetter and my Job was almost lost today on several plays I would play both quarterbacks on the same game for a real time look.. if the defense can play like that Fitz would have been undefeated without question. I hope I am wrong but I see Jameis in his own head.

  155. BucsBandit Says:

Rod Butt-Munch has the worst take of any Bucs ‘fan’ on this site.

He wet his little diaper during the game when Koetter went for it on 4th down today.

He cries and whines more than any fan I’ve ever seen.

I would bet the farm he sleeps with a little Jameis Winston doll every night.

  156. Wesley Says:

His problem is the deep ball and the occasional dumb throw to the other team. Besides that he’s been pretty darn good.

  157. Troy Says:

Please move on from the Winston – Mariota debate. They’re both mediocre and I don’t want either of them. I’m tired of accepting mediocrity. We’re 4 years into Jameis experience and he’s not progressing. That’s a fact. He makes some spectacular plays, but also some of the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen. Same thing I saw from him in year one. At times, he makes the simplest plays look impossible to execute. If he was a sure—bet number 1 qb, there wouldn’t be all of this discussion about him. It says a lot. I could care less about his college or his off the field issues. I’m looking at how the Bucs get to the Superbowl. If you think Winston is getting us there, I think you’re dreaming.

  158. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

I dont think either mariota or winston are worth 20 million think mariota makes less mistakes but winston is still just average and the gm licht is below average, you have a “franchise qb” yet you dont fix an OL thats supposed to protect him nor draft an nfl caliber RB, winston is not good enough to win games on his own but give him some OL & an RB to help….trade D JAX if your going w winston because stevie wonder can see winstons skill set & deseans will never match

  159. Gobucs Says:

    @rodas s munch

I never wanted Mariotta so go Eat a fat one boy.

You will not find any post from wanting Mariotta so stfu.

    Stupid blind FSU homer.

  160. Gobucs Says:

All these idiot supporters still haven’t answered my question.

    Hey butt munch rod

    Defend 7 turnovers in 2 1/2 games.

Yea keep talking that chit while looking like a moron. You’re good at it.

Winston is on borrowed time homer.

    Hahahahahahaha

  161. Getaclue Says:

Jameis isn’t even the best qb on the roster. I’ll take the records fitz broke instead. Frustrated wrs , calling his own plays to cause a safety and a critical sack . Three chances to win the game at the end. If you blame the defense and the kicker week in and week out you don’t have a franchise qb. Defense gave him every opportunity to let Jameis send them to the locker room. You can tell from the body launguage players are frustrated. No reason not to have Evan Smith starting at this point either . Way too much talent on this team to make excuses. Tyrod Taylor could of won that game the way the defense played and weapons we have that Jameis can’t seem to hit.

  162. JimmyJack Says:

GoBucs……Nobody’s going to defend all of them turnovers. Because their inexcusable……..Just like Dak Prescott’s turnover today was inexcusable and the same with Wentz.

So what does that leave us with? It leaves us with a 3-3 record going against the Bengals next week.

Maybe your making it bigger then it needs to be.

  163. JimmyJack Says:

And GoBucs…..I’ll admitted I’ve hurled a few insults in posts but with you it’s on basically every comment you write.

Call it what you will but to me it feels like you have some personal issues with Winston…..about more then football.

And I’m telling you this as a fan who probably takes gameday action more personally then is healthy.

  164. SilverBuc Says:

Fitztragic had 3 turnovers on THREE STRAIGHT PASSES. STFU.

  165. D the Bucs fan Says:

    Bruce Gradkowski anyone? Tim Rattay?

  166. D the Bucs fan Says:

Brian Griese? Byron Leftwich? Anyone? Let’s go back to those days guys.

  167. D the Bucs fan Says:

No matter the turnovers the defense have him a chance at the end of regulation and ot and he put us in the position to win. Simple as that.

  168. JimmyJack Says:

D…….The Bucs knew what they were doing in the 2014 draft and they knew that waiting a year for a QB to draft was the best plan.

It’s just another epic gaff for Licht. Moron waits for Winston while he could of had his pick of the litter between Teddy and Jonny Football. Then the moron doubles up on stupidity by throwing the final game of 2014 and doesn’t get Mariota.

He obvisous set the franchise back another solid decade with his QB decisions. about the only good that you can say is that he passed on the time bomb that was Derek Carr.

  169. Buc4evr Says:

We don’t have an o-line that can protect long enough for the type of vertical game Koetter wants to play. Wonder how many hits and hurries Winston had today. Bet it was a lot. I’d like to see more screens and west coast type plays against aggressive defenses. We need to keep the pressure off our Qb.

  170. SilverBuc Says:

Winston will reunite with Ramsey and Smith in Jacksonville, win multiple Super Bowls and the Bucs will be stuck with Bortles. #karmaforbucsfans

  171. Buc1987 Says:

Jameis Winston will be the starting QB for the Tampa bay Buccaneers in 2019.

    Let it sink in.

  172. Nybucsfan Says:

Hello!!! You can not win consistently when you give the ball away. Unfortunately he is one of the best in the game at doing that. How can you not see that or just ignore it? Joe Really how? I really am interested in how you can over look that.

  173. bigdaddio Says:

If you think JW is not a starting NFL QB, you’re nuts. If you think he’s in the top 3rd of the league you’re nuts. He’s in the bottom of the middle third in reality.

Just looking at the NFC, if you think JW is better than any of these you are crazy:
    Brees
    Ryan
    Newton
    Rodgers
    Cousins
    Wentz
    Goff
    Wilson

That puts him at best 9th out of 16. If you think JW is appreciably better than Stafford, Garrapolo, or Smith you’re nuts. He’s probably better than an aging Manning, Prescott, Tribisci and Bradford.

And, that’s given the huge talent advantage he has to work with at WR and TE.

  174. SilverBuc Says:

Mariota nut huggers acting like they never wanted him over Jdub, lmao!!!

  175. SilverBuc Says:

Mariota fans acting like they never wanted him over Jdub, lmao!!!

  176. Dapostman Says:

The best posts are the ones who point out that Winston played average and the Bucs won but his haters say his stats suck. Then when he plays great and the Bucs lose the haters say he can’t win. These are too funny and when you see one you know they are from a Winston Derangement Syndrome simpleton.

  177. JimmyJack Says:

@NyBucs……Good call. Very simply put and like the game it’s the simple things that matter most…….Winning is one thing…..winning a big game is a whole nother animal.

@Buc4ever……..Did you notice Myles Garrett in the first half? He was beating Donavon on the edge the entire time. This is what makes us a bad team…… Not that Donovan just getting beat but that he continued getting beat in the second half…….. Good teams adjust and don’t let it keep beating you. How often do you see good teams get beat by one man all day long four four full quarters? Donovan was part of that problem today but to me the bigger part was the coaching staff……… It’s like they didn’t even know what was going on. Generic at best

  178. SilverBuc Says:

Winston didn’t play great today but was clutch when it mattered most. It was great to see him be the first to congratulate the kicker for his bounce back game winning FG.

  179. Geno Says:

Another poor premise by Joe. He tries to make this about Jameis. No credit for the success of our passing attack goes to our coaches or other players.

Further, Joe acts like 31 1st downs at the end of regulation is ridiculous uncommon. Teams average 24 1st downs per game. We earned 6 of our 1st downs on penalties, 8 by running, and 20 by passing.

This does not mean Jameis does not have a solid skill set guys – it just means joe is the one trying to do the hoodwinking.

  180. JimmyJack Says:

TBH I am very happy for Winston even though he played a junky game. today was going to be the first time he ever let our team to a game-winning score.

Alls I I know is that I’m rooting for the guy. And even though he made critical mistakes he also made a lot of clutch throws and runs that helped win us the game. Momentum is real in sports, don’t ya know?

It doesn’t feel like the best of wins right now but it leads into a very exciting game for next week!!! I just cannot wait to see if Jameis can take the momentum of this win and have a great performance to win us another game………. I can understand that Winston has critics but sometimes it seems like his critics act like it’s impossible for Winston to play a great game which is laughable.

    GOO BUCS!

  181. Bucsfan1988 Says:

And in the meantime, KC Chiefs laying a MAJOR A$$-WHOOPIN in Cincinnati Bengals…37 to 7 early in 3rd quarter!!!

Yeah I think they’re gonna be pretty upset when Bucs come to town next week, lol!!

  182. Not there yet Says:

I bet the Winston hating exaggerators are the same clown idiots of the Mike Glennon mob who that he was a franchise quarterback because his completion percentage was so high even though he never threw balls over 20 yards. You are the worst fans ever. Luckily for us dealing with the haters no one else takes you seriously or consider you rational. Your hot takes are meaningless and you have no voice, your complaining to fans no one else is listening so stop begging.

That was a shaky performance but for the sake of driving people with common sense insane stfu please. He’s here this year and next, if we can find someone better ok but there are no free agents or draft picks coming in to take a job from Winston unless people are trying to say we’ll get the top pick in the draft. You all felt insulted when national media said it though. I would love to know what other way you expect to get a qb in here. And that question isn’t for the morons who think everything they do in franchise mode of madden can be done in real life, your the hopeless ones

  183. JimmyJack Says:

I don’t know……..You hear this stuff about Winston haters and Glennon mobs but how prevelant truely is it?

In my personal life I do actually know a few Winston haters……Off the top of my head I recall three of them. The first guy I can recall is a New England Patriots fan…..the second is a Jets fan…..the third a Browns fan(go figure).

Let’s all understand one thing. Winston will always have haters sorrounding his career because of all the self inflicted controversy……….But how many of these haters actually give a rats arse about the Buccaneers? My guess is a lot less then any of us figure.

why don’t we concentrate on worrying about the Buccaneers and let those guns worry about the controversy………and yeah I get it is frustrating because they really belong on a political chat room probably………. Just don’t let these political idiots change our opinions on our team. They could care less about our team so why are we worrying about what they believe in?

People I know don’t even talk about the Bucs

  185. SilverBuc Says:

Mahomes locks in on his favorite receiver, wildly under throws it into triple coverage resulting in an interception uglier than anything JW has ever thrown but Bucs fans want to cut our franchise QB. SMH.

  186. JimmyJack Says:

Do you guys really think Andy Reid can win a ring?

  187. JimmyJack Says:

Lakeland……..Yep, that sounds like good ole Lakeland,FL

  188. Troy Says:

SilverBuc, Mahomes has 5 pics in 7 games so please check yourself. The ridiculous notion that the Pic tonight was ‘uglier than anything JW has ever thrown’ is just complete dishonesty. Winston’s interception while falling down against the Jaguars last year was the most pathetic I have ever seen.

  189. Bucsace Says:

BrianBucs and Bucsbandit – Thanks for the fascinating insight from both of your posts. The point about Winston being good for “clicks” on this site explains a lot about the Joe’s seemingly blind devotion to the “Jameis Project “, I guess they have their priorities. Bucsbandit’s analysis of Winston’s lack of variety in his passing technique is right on target. He can throw a “frozen rope” type pass as good as any QB in the NFL, on any other type of pass he appears he just seems to be kind of winging it. I see Jameis having a good career as a backup QB….Maybe in the Byron Leftwich mold

  190. Rod Munch Says:

SilverBuc – Mariota last season in the playoffs against the Chiefs throws it into the middle of 3 defenders in the end zone and has the ball batted back into his hands for a TD and these anti-Winston morons were saying he’s a much better QB than Winston because he “wins”. Meanwhile that’s like saying Trent Dilfer was better than Dan Marino because he got a ring. The Winston haters are just idiots and there’s no reason to debate them because there’s nothing to debate. Winston is one of the top young QBs in football and these doors want him cut – they’re morons.

  191. Reach87 Says:

Franchise QB (I didn’t say HOF). We will win with him, much easier if we play complimentary football. Those who think otherwise can continue to cry and whine even after a win. Even after leading the team in rushing. Even after keeping those drives alive. Even after that sweet touchdown run. Even after that rope to Jackson at the end of overtime. Even after twice helping to set up the team for the winning score. Even after the win (did I mention the win)? LoL. Go root for the Saints, sorry a$$ “fans “. Franchise…wins… Go Bucs!

  192. dis Says:

For all you Fitz in the first two game stats fans, listen to your Beloved Derrick Brooks (also from FSU:P)….

….it takes two full games of film for the Defense to get to where they need to be.

Aka the first two games of the season are bogus for stats….

….However, Jameis looked off today, but he got it done in regulation (and indirectly in OT).

Yes. I am an FSU homer, but I’m from South Florida and yes, Marino had bad games and won (and awesome games and lost).

We won this game! That’s it! Stop micromanaging and lets get on to Cinci!!

  193. Rod Munch Says:

Bucsace – yeah, it’s a conspiracy – all those that aren’t Winston haters like you are in on it too! So are all those NFL guys who say Winston is one of the top young guys out there. Everyone is against you – it’s a mass movement – all fake – all meant to trick you. You’re on the right path, keep searching for the truth brah. Also they double down on it when they keep voting GMC to the pro-bowl, or you read the morons here you know GMC is literally the worst player in the NFL. ….don’t get your parties in a wad, I was getting to it… GMC is the SECOND worst player of course, by bad.

  194. dis Says:

Also, Jameis is 1-1.5 this season, so if we win against Cinci he’ll have a winning record this year. What else could you ask for this early in his season???

  195. Rod Munch Says:

Andrew Luck has 9 INTs this year – he needs to be cut immediately according to this thread.

  196. Buc1987 Says:

    Dapostman…yer funny. I get you.

  197. Rod Munch Says:

dis – with a decent kicker Winston is 2-0 instead of 1-1. Not going to give him a half loss for coming into a game down by 30 points. But in any case if he was 2-0, which he would be with a good kicker, then these same people would still literally be saying the same thing – which is why they’re fake news and can just be mocked. Yes, maybe like one of the Winston haters is only a hater because he’s stupid and doesn’t know anything except what other morons say- and perhaps that one person could become a non-moron in a discussion – but if they’re that big of a moron and so easily lead by a crowd then I don’t want them on the team anyways. Anywhere fire away at the anti-Winston nutjobs – and have fun doing it.

  199. JimmyJack Says:

Reach87….Good call on that incompletion to D-Jax. No stats for that throw but a completion there ruins a sheer ton of momentum for the Winston haters.

D-Jax is a awesome receiver but he can only excel in offenses suited for his speed. Winston does not rely on speed from his receivers…..He does not need receivers with speed as an asset. Winston needs receivers who can get inches of separation and he needs receivers with hands. He trhires throwing into big bodied matchups.

I can’t see any way that Winston and Jackson ever find chemistry and I have no idea why the coaching staff does. The announcers were questioning why D-Jax was on the sideline on critical drives and maybe it’s because the coaching staff finally figured it out.

D-Jax will go down as one of the dumbest signings……… How’s that weapons for Winston campaign working out for y’all?

  200. JimmyJack Says:

I will correct myself because DeSean Jackson is in an offense suited for his strengths but he does not have the quarterback needed to run that offense. Dirk just doesn’t know his own team…….. But if you think dark does know his team then please tell me what the heck he has been doing at the guard position since he’s been in charge?

  203. lambchop Says:

    @RodMunch,

Nice try fruitcake. Your trope is getting old. Same copy paste arguments about how you are a football savant, how Jameis is a gunslinger, blah blah. First off, Jameis says thanks but you really need to wash your hands cuz he says they’re too sticky now. Second, since your IQ has clearly peaked at 40, let me call you out on your dumb analogy of Favre which is both stupid and laughable. What kind of QB do you think Fitz is? Checkdown Charlie? He’s a – wait for it – a gunslinger. The difference with him and Jameis is Fitz can make all the throws and at different angles. Deep ball to DJax – no problem, side arm throw – no problem, escapability – no problem, plays uptempo – no problem.

Nobody here says he is the future, but most of us don’t want to see these offensive weapons go wasted, especially DJax. And most of us would like to win now, win often, and see some of these players get some hardware before their talent is wasted away.

If they both can give you turnovers, play Fitz while he’s not walking with a cane. He has shown how lethal this offense can be.

Don’t compare JW to Favre ever again unless you realize what a fool you sound like with your gunslinger defense. We have a better gunslinger waiting to get back on the field. And for your trope about Fitz throwing 3 INTs in 1 quarter. Stop hiding behind your bromance and realize that 1 was a tip and 1 was Mike deciding to run a flat route instead of going up the field. If you can dig under rocks for Jameis excuses, at least these 2 excuses will be backed up by tape.

Jameis thus far is a mediocre QB that lives and dies by his inability to stop making foolish plays. Ronde said it himself in the broadcast.

    Now go disinfect those hands.

  204. Rod Munch Says:

lambchop – You already said that.

  205. Ed Says:

For all you Jackson doubters, who made the clutch punt return touchdown (only to be wiped out by penalty), who caught the first down pass that let to the field goal. DeSean Jackson is a great WR. Jamies Winston isn’t a great quarterback.

If Jamies could get the ball to Jackson and give him a chance to run with it his numbers would go sky high. Jackson’s early touchdowns vs NO and Phila gave them the momentum to win.

If Winston connects on one or two deep balls per game with him he’ll run at least one in for a TD. Fans don’t understand the importance of big plays in a game. Jackson’s catch for a first down in the OT was a big play.

Winston and the Bucs cannot built an offense around jump balls and completions to Brate and Humphries. The ball must be in the hands of Jackson, Evans and Howard in clutch moments of the game.

Terry Bradshaw was never an elite passer but how many Superbowls did he hit Stallworth and Swann down field. Troy Aikman got the ball to Michael Irwin when games were on the line. When you have great playmakers you must get them the ball. Jameis cant do that when the games are on the line.

  206. orlbucfan Says:

How come the offensive play calling pulled off some creative stuff like the reverse to diva Jackson? Cos the offense has the talent to do it. Koetter needs to clear the cobwebs out of his head. Defense played the best game of the season in spite of Buc Luck–losing the Kwonster. Hope the young kicker can gain some confidence from booting the 59 yarder that won the game for us. 3-3–I’ll take it. Go Bucs!!

  207. Casey Morgan Says:

Winston sucks. Cut him. Fitz is a winner…

  208. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Fitz is 50-72 for his career, Casey.

  209. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

So you want to talk about JW’s INT% which is 3.0% ? Let us do that.

    Fran Tarkenton Int% 5.4

    Joe Namath Int% 5.8

    Terry Bradshaw Int%4.0

    Brett Favre Int% 3.3

    Joe Montana Int% 2.7

You freaking morons starting to get the freaking picture? You don’t know CRAP from CRAPOLA , so at least do a little research before you start throwing out STATS that actually make the case that JW is a FRANCHISE QB , you ignant RACIST HATERS. JW will be here a very long time and the Bucs are getting a HUGE discount at 20 Million for next season.
