Ronald Jones Is Active

September 30th, 2018

Finally, per the Twittering of ESPN insider Adam Schefter, rookie running back Ronald Jones will be active and available today against the Bears.

Jones, the No. 38 overall pick has been healthy and in street clothes for the first three games.

Something would have been very, very wrong if Jones was benched again, considering how meh fellow rookie RB Shaun Jones has been on special teams.

    Lets Go Bucs!!
I see him getting in endzone today!!

  5. Pickgrin Says:

    Go ROJO GO!!!

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

OMG………..he’s going to get so smashed against this tough bears defense

I hope they don’t play him much considering he didnt do CRAP in the preseason against scrubs

what did he get again…..a total of a whopping 33 yards or something like that????

  7. BROCKTACULAR Says:

Good luck kid! I hope you
    ball out!!

  8. View from 132 Says:

Most backs need touches to end up with the game breaking runs this kid is drafted to supply. All the greats had 15 runs that went almost nowhere and then would break a 50+ against a worn out opponent, so I’m not concerned about his slow preseason. I’m more interested to see if he can turn a negative 3 into +2 and a +5 into a +10. And can he pass block? If these things happen, the rest will just be acclimating to the pro game. He has the ability.

  9. Chris watson Says:

Peyton barber is avg 2.9 yds per carry…. Doug Martin 4.4?? weird

  10. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ View from 132

    You sitting in seat 132?????

    Anyhoo,

ROJO obviously has mental issues and cannot block

ROJO ran with heisitation in preseason against scrubs ………so are people are really expecting him to explode against starters GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!

Buc fans need to wake up and realize that ROJO will see limited action today and may not be a factor this whole season.

If ROJO flashed any sorta proof during the preseason that he can be the man then I’d say we can have hope

………but for right now we haven’t seen anything

  11. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Glad to see them activating him. I wonder if they are trying to see what they have in RoJo in case they want a piece of the L. Bell sweepstakes? Man I sure hope RoJo can rip off a few long gains and help get the running game humming like the passing game is.

  12. Buc1987 Says:

It’s not bad news I guess. We’ll see.

  13. diggler Says:

Just want to see the offense ball tf out again a really good defense. Kooter will find some plays for him like they did OJ his rookie year. Is he gonna run for 150? Prolly not LOL

  14. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

The only way to see what he’s got is to put him on the field. I just hope he gets to return some kicks. He’s got to be better than Wilson.

  15. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    What’s really bad

………..is that the bucs have really no run again this season

Yeah don’t gimme this crap of “well, we’ve been passing alot and not focusing on the run”

No team has ever made it to the superbowl without a supportive run game and Koetter better find a way to fix it

  16. View from 132 Says:

@TheBucsAnthem … section 132… former season ticket holder. I did my $25k. That name was my Bucs blog in 2002… a prehistoric Joe Bucs Fan idea. I guess I can change it now to View from HDTV.

I would agree ROJO may not have a big impact this season, but it only takes one big run (or catch and run) to feel like you belong and things can click. But that’s also true of Barber – he’s not a bad back.

  17. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    ^ that’s very true

  18. Season Is Over Says:

Clearly the team thought OHNO was better than Adrian Peterson this season.

  19. Rayjay1122 Says:

Different subject, but did it ever get put out as to how fast D Jax was running in the TD return that was called back last week. Dude was flying. 🤣

  20. Tackleblockwin Says:

Two hands on the ball young Buc, two hand on the ball.

  21. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    God

that was so disappointing when the DJAX pr was called back

………you could tell DJAX put 100% into that return too

  22. Darin Says:

Preseason means diddly and noone is expecting Jones to have a huge impact. He is 3rd string today. Having said that it wouldnt surprise me one bit if he looks great today. The guy is explosive. They need someone to score some tds from the rb position. If you are judging a guy off 1 preseason you havnt watched much football. We will find out today if he steps up when it counts.

  23. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    ^

well i hope he prove’s EVERYONE wrong today

  24. FreeTheSecretWeapon Says:

4 man front from Chicago EQUALS Big day for our run game…

Perfect Timing to kick the wheels on ROJOs skill set…. Look for some screen play to him vs runs…. Either way he GONE!!!!

  25. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Anthem you are a straight fraud. In the previous article you say rojo being active would be icing on the cake and how he and Vita can be X factors. Now you are saying Rojo is garbage.

I bet you are one of the guys I would love to smack at the stadium on sunday afternoons. #hack

  26. Anonymous Says:

I’m worried about Whitehead being inactive. With him out and Conte on IR, who is starting at safety alongside Evans? Isaiah Johnson? Or Adams- the guy we just signed off the street.

  28. Guzzie Says:

Rojo was hit in the backfield everytime he touched the ball, no Evans, Djax, OJ putting pressure on the defense, he’s gonna have a great career

  29. Defense Rules Says:

BigBucFan11 … Not to worry, Jason Licht has it all well in hand. I’m sure he’ll sign Eric Reid any day now. (What? Reid signed with the Panthers just this past week? Rats!). But that’s OK, I understand Licht’s going to sign Breeland to a CB and then we can return Ryan Smith to the Safety position that he was drafted for. (What? Breeland signed with the Packers a week or two ago? Rats).

Still, not to worry. We’ve always got Scapegoat Smitty, the Human Piñata, to beat on until they can teach Jameis to play Safety and save Smitty further angst. BTW BucFan, if you figure out why our defense, year after year, always seems to be so injury-riddled throughout each season, please share that with Dirk & Smitty. Don’t bother telling Jason though since he seems to have this proclivity for choosing defensive players in FA or the draft with histories of injuries.

Any “fan” who is not rooting for Rojo to succeed…..is truly not a fan at all.

    All the best Rojo!!!

BucsAnthem is a troll. Anyone that negative has to have a lot of self hatred. Don’t know a single happy and successful person that is constantly negative like you are. Hope you can turn your life around at some point. In the meantime why don’t you take your miserable troll self somewhere else. At a minimum maybe please stay away from a keyboard.

  33. Joe Says:

who is starting at safety alongside Evans? Isaiah Johnson?

    Isiah Johnson.
