Will Gholston Beats A Double Team Inside For A Sack

August 25th, 2018

Joe never would have imagined typing that headline. But it became a reality tonight.

Joe’s so damn stunned, here’s the 2nd-quarter video for you to savor yourself. What a boost for Gholston, who has had a very up and down summer.

I remember that article before last weeks game Will might be on the bubble. Has had two sacks in two games now and he’s not even known for his sacking abilities. Good stuff.

  2. Lamarcus Says:

Will definitely looks to be a key member on the line and played Spence right out of the line up

  3. Trench War Says:

    both sacks at DT

  4. Kgh4life Says:

I guess all that coaching paid off.

Buckner has his guys going north and south. Perhaps it will pay dividends for guys like Gholston in improving their game.

  6. rrsrq Says:

Still concerned about how the defense responds to QB bootlegs, usually the QB is wide open and has time to pick a receiver or run

  7. Grt1 Says:

Left guard had to help on the DE JPP factor. It’s going to be a career year for one of these DLinemen.

    Where was McCoy?

  9. Pickgrin Says:

Finally! Lets see a few of those during the regular season to help justify Will’s $6.5M + make up for the $7M with no sacks from last year…

I thought Gholston was going to get cut, but he showing some value at DT. He’s not great, but now I think Koetter will keep him for his versatility. I’m glad he’s showing something because you’d hate to waste 7 million like that.

  11. ATrain Says:

Gholston is not great but he does have as many sacks as GMC

Gholston is not great but he did beat a double team for a sack

Gholston is not great but is disruptive up front no doubt

Really wonder what he has to do to be Great as GMC maybe offer to wash the bus of the visiting team

I HOPE he can Learn from GMC

Gholston played a great game last night. Maybe this is the year he finally puts it all together. Let’s hope so!

Glad he is a BUC this year. Keep that rotation coming Buckner.

Can’t wait for Vita Vea to play.

  14. Buxfan Says:

He’s not a 4-3 DE. He’s been playing out of position. He’s better suited to play DT in the 4-3 or 3-4 DE.

Was just looking at draft profile of Noah Spence and Yannick nakgoue. They are same weight and height Yannick ran. 4.75 Spence a 4.8. Every other measurable Spence was better. Thus a why the draft is a crap shoot. But shot out to joe I remember reading a couple articles that year of you wanting Yannick. It said under Spence’s draft profile may take him a year or two to really blossom. This is year three so let’s hope he finally does blossom even though this preseason has shown me no reason for hope. Didn’t read gholstons profile but I hoping it said may take 4-6 years to reach full potential. Saw ally of articles on every bucs website that Spence was are unknown X factor this year. Maybe it is gholston who will be and his 6 million this and next year will look like a bargain. Other news jags lost there starting wide receiver tonight. A good time to dangle Bobo or Watson and. 6-7th round lick for Fowler. Can never have to many pass rushers. Former 3rd overall pick just dangling out there for a gm to grab. Change of scenery might do him well.
