Jameis Responds To Fans & Media That Want Him Gone

July 26th, 2018

It was Joe’s impression, along with other media at One Buc Palace, that Jameis Winston got a little choked up today during his somewhat intense news conference, the first since he was suspended three games by the NFL.

America’s Quarterback was anything but aloof during the peppering of questions about his behavior and the fallout.

Jameis appeared to well up very slightly, along with a subtle voice change, about midway through, and it seemed to kick in when Joe asked about his response to the haters, aka the fans and Tom Jones media who think Jameis should never again play for Tampa Bay.

Here’s the verbatim exchange:

JoeBucsFan.com: Jameis, there have been fans and media who have written or said that you shouldn’t take another snap for the Bucs. What’s your reaction to that?

Jameis Winston: Well, my first reaction to that is I’ve worked hard since I’ve gotten to this community to prove that I am the guy that the Buccaneers drafted. And I’m going to continue to do that. I believe these fans should still support us as a whole organization and support me as well. Because I’ve given a lot to those fans and the fans have been very good to me as well.

Joe liked Jameis’ response and appreciated his passion throughout the news conference.

Jameis also added that he has had the full support of teammates and Team Glazer — and that fans will take longer.

“I know I’ve got some hard work to do to regain the trust of my fans,” Jameis said.

  1. Robert Says:

“I am the guy that the Buccaneers drafted.”

    very troubling…….no mention of change.

    says it all

  2. Ghingus Kwon Says:

Keep working Jameis. I swear, as a 20 something with money, I would’ve never made it in the NFL. The restraint some of these guys have is amazing.

  3. Pete I Says:

Yep he is the guy the Buccaneers drafted, all of the red flags before the draft are still flying proudly today.

  4. Jman5 Says:

Jameis were you telling the truth back then when you said you were innocent or did your memory get better when you apologized? Lol funniest question

  5. Jman5 Says:

Support me while I still feel entitled to women and their bodies

  6. meh Says:

I will absolutely not continue to support him after this. Cut him. His performance is irrelevant.

  7. BucsNeedNewFans Says:

You haters are irrelevant, go route for another team already!

  8. Dapostman Says:

I didn’t realize there were so many snowflakes in Florida. Must be global warming reversal.

  9. Joel Says:

“I’ve worked hard since I’ve gotten to this community to prove that I am the guy that the Buccaneers drafted.”

Hey dum dum… No you didn’t. You didn’t even make it 1 year before you got into trouble again. And then lied to us the fans. Pound sand, you scumbag.

  10. Jeffbuc Says:

Well all you haters that keep saying you won’t support him or watch another game. Be gone quit posting all your hate everyday and move on like you say you are. But know you love to hate to much so can’t resist to come to this site and spew it all over. He made a mistake he has been punished now move on. What else can he do. Anything he says you guys will take out of context like the above post. You haters act like he killed somebody or did what kellen Winslow is accused of doing. Get over yourselves and your hypocrisy you perfect angel bucs fans who haven’t done anything wrong your entire life. But yet feel entitled to pile on a young kid who made a poor decision 2 and a half years ago.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

So you answered your own question, Joe?

    lol

  12. Jman5 Says:

    Root* for another team. FTFY

  13. Robert Says:

he’s young. he could still be kellen winslow or aaron hernandez……..

he’s trending that way in fact in not learning from his actions

  14. Jman5 Says:

    ^

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Can’t we all just get along?

  16. Dooshlarue Says:

    More BS from JW.
Just read what he says and you can tell it’s just a bunch of things he’s been told to say or thinks we want to hear.
I think Joe is mistaking a heartfelt apology with a misty eyed realization that he F’ed up again and got caught.
I’m not in favor of cutting him like some, but the Bucs need to get something for him if he doesn’t prove himself this season…….. if he gets a chance.

I’m hoping for a Fitzpatrick miracle.

  17. Walter Seidel Says:

“I’ve gotten to this community to prove that I am the guy that the Buccaneers drafted.” He has clearly succeeded.

  18. stpetebucsfan Says:

At least Jameis gets it enough to say the right things. He nailed it with this sentence…

“I know I’ve got some hard work to do to regain the TRUST of my fans,”

Emphasis is mine of course but that’s what he’s lost. It’s what bothers me…I simply no longer trust him to make good decisions on and off the field.

Sounds like he’s at least going to get the chance to try and earn my trust back but it’s not something he’s going to be able to do this year and perhaps even next. It’s NONE of the individual events…it’s the total and how they all unfolded.

But hey…I’m open minded…if the Glazers think it makes business sense then I’m OK with whatever they decide and I’ll root for the team regardless.

  19. Fartman Says:

He’s made it tough to root for him… and pretty much drained what little excitement there was for the season. I bet Joe has noticed their traffic has gone down since this.

  20. Joel Says:

Not sure who coddles this QB more… the blind fans or the idiot coaching staff/GM. Its a toss up.

  21. Joel Says:

This is going to be an interesting year…

The blind followers are all out of excuses and what they come up with next will be very entertaining.

    They can no longer use:
“McCoy needs more talent around him.”
    “This offense needs more playmakers.”

Any ideas on what the new excuses will be?

    Besides “Go away haters”.

“Haters” = people who have figured out this yearly game

  22. Walter Seidel Says:

Can’t WAIT go out and purchase a Number 3 jersey for my daughter!!!!

  23. EEK Says:

    Winston response = terrible

Winston, you are not in a position to be entitled to support for your hard work. Neither are you entitled to tell fans who we “should” support.

Your play and hard work aren’t for you to advertise at this point. That happens to be your job. A little bit of humility will go a much longer way. Who is coaching this guy on how to speak? Is he listening?

Anyone who is smart has acquired enough data to not trust you at this point. I’m simply saying trust from a pure football perspective. Lots of garbage time yards to buff the stats after digging your team in a hole with bad decisions and turnovers early in games.

  24. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

    Lol at all these haters.

No offense to the real StickCarriers. But it seems yall are all carrying around a rather large stick up your @sses.

    Gtfo jabronies

  25. Joel Says:

“But yet feel entitled to pile on a young kid who made a poor decision 2 and a half years ago.”

After making several mistakes before that in college and not learning his lesson.

Poor judgement OFF the field = Poor judgement ON the field.

Captain Fumble will be back Week 4 to take over his 0-3 squad. Question is, will he win a meaningless game in Week 17 to spoil our draft spot for the new coaching staff and GM?

    Hope not.

  26. Joel Says:

The only entertaining thing about this season will be watching the blind followers watch this season unfold exactly how the “haters” have already told them it would. Hahahaha!!!

“McCoy needs more talent around him”
“Jameis needs 3 more WRs and 2 more TEs”
“Jameis is still working on the chemistry”.
“Year 5 is when he’ll figure it out.”

    Classic!!!

  27. joestang Says:

Jameis said we should support him. Are you kidding? I wouldn’t support my own brother if he did what Jameis did. Lose him before we get bogged down for another 5 years. We could win without him and still have a good moral character team. Maybe he can get a job at Publix selling seafood.

  28. Destinjohnny Says:

Let’s hope nobody from him past comes out….

  29. Joel Says:

    joestang:

Not blindly supporting someone despite their horrible actions and/or poor performance on the field makes you a “hater” here.

    Welcome to the club.

  30. Defense Rules Says:

@Jameis … “I know I’ve got some hard work to do to regain the trust of my fans.” Well, at least Jameis recognizes what the key problem is (lost trust) and what it’ll take (hard work) to earn that back. Personally rooting for him, but it’s all on HIS shoulders to make that happen right now.

  31. Pete I Says:

Joe thinks he got chocked up? WDAE seems to think he got annoyed and frustrated having to answer questions about what he doesn’t think he did anything wrong for. What a mess. This presser did JW no favors.

  32. Jeffbuc Says:

Why the hell are you even a fan then Joel. If you are already waitin to hear people’s new excuses if we suck this year. Which you as a supposed fan are already expecting. We have all been bucs fans a while we know we have sucked. That’s what is fun about the offseason. We have optimism that the team will be good this year. Like every fan of every team in the off season. So I don’t know want kind of fan you are or why you even root for this team if you are so negative about everything. How could you enjoy that. So save your negativity for when it is due. In the off-season is the time for us bucs fans to be 0-0 and have hope that this year will be there. We don’t need negative whiners in here trying to ruin that. We get our hopes ruined enoughduring the season. So let’s try to jump on board and be positive. Maybe the next your out the beer won’t taste flat and that steak might be delicious and tender.

  33. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Robert Says
    “very troubling…….no mention of change.”

Did you even watch his press conference?

Or is it easier to just assume?

  34. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    meh Says
“I will absolutely not continue to support him after this.”

How exactly is that different from any other year?

You do nothing but complain year in and year out. You just finally feel justified.

  35. Joel Says:

The annual “I’m a bigger fan than you” contest. Hahaha!!!

I’m sorry I don’t swallow the yearly canned excuses you guys eat up every year.

    Read this carefully. And slowly:

THIS TEAM WAS 5-11 LAST YEAR. THEY HAVE YET TO PROVE ANYTHING.

  36. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Joel Says
“Hey dum dum… No you didn’t. You didn’t even make it 1 year before you got into trouble again. And then lied to us the fans. Pound sand, you scumbag.”

    PROVE IT.

  37. Joel Says:

“So let’s try to jump on board and be positive. ”

That doesn’t win football games. Hate to break it to you.

I’m sorry you think that its “negative” that I believe a team that went 5-11 last season won’t be much better this year. First 3 games with journeyman QB against 3 playoff teams. Free agents signed by Jason Licht who has signed more BUSTS than stars. Same sorry defensive coordinator who couldn’t hold Julio Jones under 200 yards if his life depended on it.

So sad how blind you are to what’s going on.

But I will enjoy the excuses come 5-11 time again. Injuries? Jameis needs more weapons? McCoy needs more talent on D-Line?

Can’t wait to see what you come up with — or re-use.

  38. Joel Says:

    PROVE IT

See Jameis apology to the victim.

    We done here?

Jameis could kill someone and some of you idiots would still back him and make excuses…

“He’ll learn from it and move on.”

Coddled in high school. Coddled in college. Still coddled now.

At least by 2020, he’ll be a faded memory in the long line of Buccaneers QB draft BUSTS.

  39. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Dooshlarue Says
“More BS from JW. Just read what he says and you can tell it’s just a bunch of things he’s been told to say or thinks we want to hear. I think Joe is mistaking a heartfelt apology with a misty eyed realization that he F’ed up again and got caught.”

So you admit his words are forced? Let me ask you something: If he is innocent, and the NFL suspended him merely for their public image, then told him if he does anything to tick them off he could get more games (in their statement), what exactly should he say?

The simple truth is this: Jameis is not being permitted to say he is innocent, so all he can say is that he will never be put in that situation again. He could make a big deal out of it…get more games, but would that be for the good of the team?

    Nope.

So he agreed to keep his mouth shut and not appeal…even though he obviously believes he is innocent.

  40. SNEEDY16 Says:

    Joel

It’s kind of hard to fade when he will probably own all of the Bucs QB records.

  41. Schlomie BarmitzvahCircumScissorStein Says:

Pete I Says:”Yep he is the guy the Buccaneers drafted, all of the red flags before the draft are still flying proudly today.”…Great post.

  42. Jeffbuc Says:

No ones trying to be a bigger fan than someone else. I just want fans to all be positive in the off-season. A real fan doesn’t sit there and hope for there team to suck so they can say told you so. That’s not a fan that’s a person that has some serious issues. I’m a fan and I will root for the bucs to do good week one through end off season. I don’t care about draft pics. The saints game was a great way to the end the year and left me excited for more. I bet if you were a fan of the patriots you would still find negative stuff to say all year long. But you seem to me like you are probably a guy that has 10 favorite teams.

  43. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Joel Says
    “PROVE IT
See Jameis apology to the victim.”

    His statement:
I’m sorry to the Uber driver for the position I put you in. It is uncharacteristic of me and I genuinely apologize. In the past 2 1/2 years my life has been filled with experiences, opportunities and events that have helped me grow, mature and learn, including the fact that I have eliminated alcohol from my life.

I know I have to hold myself to a higher standard on and off the field and that I have a responsibility to my family, community, and teammates to live above the platform with which God has blessed me. I apologize to my teammates, the Buccaneers organization and fans for letting them down and for not being able to be out there for the first three games of the season. Although I am disappointed in the NFL’s decision, I understand the NFL’s process, and I embrace this as an opportunity to take advantage of the resources available to help me achieve the goals that I have for myself.

I now look forward to putting this behind me and I will continue to work hard every day to be a positive influence in my community and be the best person, teammate and leader I can be.”

There’s his statement. Still not proving it.

  44. meh Says:

Bonzai you are full of it. I’ve been very supportive of Winston on here up until now.

  45. DB55 Says:

Jameis said he has the full support of owners and teammates. His teammates have said this publicly my question is where are the owners? Why don’t the owners come out front and grow a pair?

This team is always scared. They run and manage this team scared. Scared of the fans, the players and the media. Fans don’t like Gruden fire him, they don’t like Schiano fire him. Fans love McIceCream and Revis complete overpay and overhype them.

The glazers will never ever be mistaken for the Rooneys, that’s an understatement.

  46. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Which is more intense?
This hate for Jameis or Joe’s hate for Koetter sticking with Doug Martin?
    Poll?

  47. ChipBuc Says:

Joel your turning into the forums most prominent TROLL , you must be proud. If it isn’t Winston ,an easy target right now, it’s trying to dash the hopes of a new Bucs season for bucs fans, before it’s even started. News flash your takes are meaningless and just saying negative things to get people mad is just plain childish. Just saying.

  48. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Joel, notice he still foes not admit doing what he is accused of.

The simple truth is this: You thought you could bring up something and I would assume it was proof, but I actually posted his statement, and nowhere did he lie. Nowhere did he say he did anything other than be in the position to be drunk and riding in the Uber.

Even if you go back to his original statement when the accusation was made public, he said:

“A news organization has published a story about me regarding an alleged incident involving a female Uber driver from approximately two years ago. The story falsely accuses me of making inappropriate contact with this driver. I believe the driver was confused as to the number of passengers in the car and who was sitting next to her. The accusation is false…”

So let’s examine that one. Who said there were not three people in the car? Banks. The same guy who would have been in the front seat and is currently accused of rape in a separate case. He has reason to deny being there, since it would incriminate him.

The driver also says it was just him. Both Darby and Winston deny this.

Outside of internet gossip and Banks, there has been no proof offered that there was indeed a second Uber trip.

But even if there was…that does not mean he is guilty. What can you tell us about Kate? Has she made this sort of accusation before? Is she medicated for mental problems? No one knows, because her identity remains a secret. We don’t even know if she has a criminal record or is suing multiple passengers for the same thing.

So Winston believes he is innocent, then he has not lied. At all. And you cannot prove otherwise.

  49. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Alanbucsfan Says
    “Which is more intense?
This hate for Jameis or Joe’s hate for Koetter sticking with Doug Martin?
    Poll?”

His anger for letting Michael Bennett get away.

  50. bucs_kg21 Says:

exactly what JeffBuc said up top

  51. T REX Says:

A t his introductory news conference after being drafted No. 1 overall by the Bucs in 2015, Jameis Winston said to judge him on his actions moving forward.

“Actions speak so much louder than words, or what they may have read or what they may have heard,” Winston said. “It’s about your actions. Whatever is in the past is in the past.

“I look forward to gaining everyone’s trust.”

Fool me once shame on you…fool me twice?

  52. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Buccaneerbonzai-
    Haha

  53. Godeep66 Says:

They really need to keep him away from the mic if they truly want to retain him. I do see a parallel as it pertains to how he deals with media pressure and defensive pressure on the field; neither end up positive for him. So sad to see such an accomplished athlete get swallowed up because his parents did not raise him with morals and ethics. It’s really not his fault. I truly hope he received some type of college education so he has something to fall back on.

  54. Malcolm-Reynolds Says:

It DOES seem that a great many of these fans/media/haters either conveniently excuse or don’t remember a certain TV spokesman for a number of brands laying his Junk on the head of a female trainer back at UT. Now from what I’m gathering from listening/reading lately, there is no statute of limitations on such behavior. I seem to recall when it came out a bit of “Well, boys will be boys” excuses from the media because I guess he was young and immature then. Don’t recall anyone calling for the Colts to cut him. Didn’t seem to lose any endorsement deals either. Does the color of his skin make ANY difference you think? Well, he won lots of games so that stuff can be overlooked. This MISTAKE will cost Jameis Winston MILLIONS. Can anyone ever atone for a mistake with these people?

  55. Nick2 Says:

What can he say? He has done alot for the Tampa Bay area since the incident but that wont wash away what happened. Time heals all and so do victories.

  56. Eric Says:

Jameis can say nothing to appease the haters, so why try.

Go out and play great when called upon. Of course that will not satisfy some of the holier than thou crowd.

Let ye that is without sin cast the first stone.

Racist dolts. Same idiots that rejoiced when they ran Doug Williams out.

    Pathetic.

  57. Buc4life Says:

Don’t feed the trolls…he apologized already and his actions since the incident occurred have shown change…there is a segment of society that find pleasure in others failures and they will never be fans of Jameis…they are a minority but a loud minority… he’s earned my trust and I believe in the young man.

  58. Reality_43 Says:

Still waiting for week 4 so we don’t have to hear @Robert’s comments anymore where he reads into a statement wrong and comes out sounding like a 3rd grader.

    Get over it man.

  59. Buc believer Says:

All you haters are of the type that you will root for the Bucs until your “up north” team comes to Ray Jay and then you go deep into the bowels of your smelly dark closets and pull out your ratty smelly puke soaked jerseys of the cowboys, giants , pats, or whatever God forsaken skunk hole you moved from and then infested our gorgeous Bay Area with the reek of up north team. Take your hate and go back ya true Floridians and Buc fans are tired of you clogging up our roadways.

  60. Bucsfanman Says:

Joel- Considering your cross-thread postings, you may want to consider therapy. Your vitriol is misplaced on a Bucs “fan” blog. Choosing an NFC South opponent would be more in line with your sensitivities. I say all this as a concerned Bucs fan. Why so mad bro?!

The Bucs are bigger than any individual player. I hope Jameis gets his act together to come back for a playoff run.

  61. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

So you’re a “hater” if you are rightfully disgusted by the criminal actions of your favorite teams’ star player who was drafted number one overall in spite of a checkered and suspicious history and glib promises to have learned and grown and changed, but then does the same thing?

  62. Gambelero Says:

I swear. Jameis did the exact opposite of what I told him to do. I told him to say what’s really in his heart—to face this head on with an unrepentant, unapologetic, unsubtle air and an f-u tone. I had him watch lKeith Moon’s reply to Townsend and Daltrey when they tried to get him to cut back on the drinking and the pills. “Blank you. I’m still the best blanking rock and roll drummer on the planet.”

Instead, he did what his other PR guys coached him to do. He finessed his way through using preprepared, stock answers and time tested platitudes about working hard and winning back trust. Joe and other Buc’s fans liked his answers, but the Baker, Moore, hater cabal won’t be satisfied.

  63. Buc believer Says:

@Homer…. your obviously a troll… don’t remember you posting here before. Make up a new name today?

  64. Eric Says:

You have given a lot to those fans…. only thing you have given us is grief, shame, and 18-27 record. Get outta here WE DONT WANT YOU, YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THIS CITY!

  65. jmarkbuc Says:

    Bonzai

    You misconstrue things…

“A news organization has published a story about me regarding an alleged incident involving a female Uber driver from approximately two years ago. The story falsely accuses me of making inappropriate contact with this driver. I believe the driver was confused as to the number of passengers in the car and who was sitting next to her. The accusation is false…

The league promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation that included interviews with several persons, including the driver, Winston and others with relevant information. The league also examined an extensive amount of other evidence, including telephone records, business records, data from electronic devices and other communications. Based on the investigation, the NFL found that Winston had violated the NFL Personal Conduct Policy, which allows for discipline to be imposed even when criminal charges are not presented.
In his letter advising Winston of the suspension, Jones stated after full consideration of the record, including a meeting with Winston and his representatives, and a written submission by his attorneys, that the driver’s account of the incident was consistent and credible. As a result, the investigation had concluded that Winston violated the Personal Conduct Policy by touching the driver in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent and that disciplinary action was necessary and appropriate.

  66. Lamarcus Says:

    Bad day for JW haters

  67. Dirty Bucs Says:

To regain the trust of the fans, you have to first have the trust. I never trusted him, and I still don’t. Tampa will not compete with the best teams in the NFL with Winston under center. I’d like to see the Bucs move on at the earliest opportunity. Wouldn’t surprise me if the first round draft pick is a QB this year. In fact, I prefer that we pick a QB at the best possible value this year.

  68. Pete I Says:

I note that he did not clarify what he’s learned.

Based on his history, I’m guessing his ‘learning experience’ was much closer to “don’t get caught” than “stop being a scumbag”.

  69. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I say this as someone who supports Jameis and believe he should be permitted another chance to succeed….

I was a bit disappointed in his answers to the alcohol questions….he had two of them where he could have stated that he has quit or “been sober since”…..he was evasive and essentially changed to his default answers about learning and being the best he can be.

If he has actually quit drinking….I would have expected him to proudly announce that.

  70. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

He’s probably been advised by lawyers to not say anything specific about the night in question, his alcohol habits or lack there of, nor the details of the NFL investigation or its findings. He could still be sued or arrested.

  71. Tony LA Says:

    @dapostman

If you’re calling people “snowflakes” for not blindly supporting Jameis and his history of sexual assault then my only hope for you is that your two (and only two) brain cells one day meet and join forces.

  72. Tony LA Says:

    I want Jameis to succeed.

This was not a good performance by him today. There was zero real authenticity. It was a coached performance given to him by a stale and typical PR team/firm who went textbook with what they told him to say.

It is what it is. But he did have an opportunity today to do something REAL. I said before, Jameis should donate his entire salary this season to the support and education programs that help victims and prevention of sexual assault.

If he did that, stayed clean, and played good football – he would make sooooo much more money on the back end. It’s why you don’t hire stale PR firms who coach you to give non answers and think it will just blow over. Jameis has to make a showing of some kind and then the tune will definitely change on him. I hope the Glazers didn’t waste too much money on the crap Pr team they assembled for this.

  73. Pete I Says:

@ Tony LA – exactly, That apology, if you want to call it that, is a cobbling together of tropes from other formulaic apologies. There is not an original word in there, and nothing in there suggests that he is an actual human being who understands that what he did was wrong, and why.

  74. lightningbuc Says:

Crickets from him about the victims left in his wake! Look up d-bag in Webster’s and don’t be surprised if Ruskin’s QB is pictured.

Why? Cuz he apologized? What is this – like his 10th apology for something he’s done wrong? You Jaboo honks are hilarious.

  76. SJ-Bucsfan Says:

Jamis is walking the razors edge this season. If Fitz has at least a 2-1 outing the QB controversy will be a blaze like lady liberality’s torch light. Only wins will make this all (semi) go away. But if there are no W’s in Winston’s alphabet soup (or cereal) when he starts he’s done…

  77. BrianBucs Says:

Unfortunately for the Bucs franchise and the Bucs fans, Winston has proven the be the guy the Bucs drafted. So he’s right about that.

  78. BrianBucs Says:

The Bucs and Winston have had a long while to rehearse and prepare for this PC. He could have done better.

  79. Walter Seidel Says:

Wanna accuse me and most of the posters on here of being trolls? Go ahead. I don’t give a crap. Winston deserves to be trolled and CERTAINLY does NOT deserve fan support and adoration. If you’re a Seminole fan, I know it hurts. Not my problem. Glazers, PAY ATTENTION!! You’re all about the money!! Move on from the awful decisions your organization has made, or you’ll wind up paying for it in real dollars.

Now, I gotta go buy my daughter a Number 3 jersey!! not

  80. Maze Says:

  82. Walter Seidel Says:

Even Pat and Aaron and Len Martez are confounded that Winston wasn’t even contrite today!!! Amazing crap!!! Time to let him go, and move on to a New Buccaneer Day !!!

  83. Adam Says:

All you perfect Angel’s that think you’re going to heaven for putting a lost soul down. Think again and read your bible.

  84. Jman5 Says:

I hope he never has a daughter

  85. DB55 Says:

Having a daughter may be exactly what he needs.

  86. Walter Seidel Says:

Thank you Adam for your wise contribution. And it’s “Angels” (no apostrophe).

  87. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

He could have put this to bed forever but it was another incompletion, long ugly year starting

  88. Pryda... sec147 Says:

THATS MY Qb I think he is just going to be amazing MVP season light it up Jaboo

  89. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Just be seen and not heard Jameis!!! And win !!!

  90. Pierce Says:

He’s still America’s QB in your eyes Joe? Not understanding why.

  91. DB55 Says:

Not only is he America’s QB but now he even has his own Yankee Doodle Candy.

Seriously though for those of you who don’t get why Joe calls him AQB it’s been explained that Jameis is the QB that America loves to hate. He’s AQB bc whatever he does, if he farts at church Tom Jones or some other pundit is going to write a scathing article about his inappropriateness.

  92. Horice Says:

All of this outrage will turn if he comes back and takes the team to playoffs. What will be funny is how many on these commentors will become instant liars.
As a fan Jameis has been a disappointment with this activity. However this is the reason neither me or my children will wear a jersey with another man’s name on it. There are things that never get exposed about these players that would garner a loss of support. When we are at games it’s our family name ONLY! I don’t look for men that bang their heads all game to be choir boys. I’ve seen enough football and read enough articles to know that very few are choir Boys. And when Buc fans find them (93) they are quick to call them soft…

  93. Malcolm-Reynolds Says:

    Horice – So true sir!

  94. Costa Rica John Says:

Liberals want Trump gone and now they want Winston gone. Guess what neither one is happening. Go back to your couch and watch the View.

  95. Dapostman Says:

    @Costa Rica John,

LMAO!!! I don’t understand how they can call it the View with Whoopie on there.

    #Get After It!

  96. Dapostman Says:

    @Horice,

Lots of pervs out there so I suggest your kids (if they are young) don’t have any name on their clothing. With the internet you can never be careful enough.

  97. Joe Says:

    Islam By Force:

Don’t you think Moe has more important people to burn in a cage worry about than Jameis?

  98. gp Says:

    Been a fan since 76
    Never bought a ticket
    Never bought a jersey
Never missed a game, either on TV or radio , every one

Now I’m thinking of buying a Jameis Jersey and at least a couple of game tickets just to hack off the uber-leftists out there

  99. Jimmyt Says:

You haters r beyond sick! U all remind me of reading all of the Trump haters on twitter. A bunch a loons u r. This is simply about ONE THING! HATE! Some of u a bunch of racists, some gator fans that sure loved Aaron Hernandez. It’s just sick! EVERY BUC LOSS the last 3 years U all have BLAMED JAMEIS! This guy will never redeem himself to u all. I have always felt that is too good for this freaking town still fighting the civil war. Jameis will DEFINITELY win a super bowl, but not here THANKFULLY. I’m embarrassed for YOU ALL. Just sick sick psycho lunatics!!! Good luck u will be trashing the next qb drafted when they throw 3 picks a game in their first 3 years.

  100. fanfromthebucsinception Says:

been a fan since the 70s and always been positive in every situation even when there was no chance of a win, people head out of the bleachers and I’m in my seat til the last second ticks off the clock, my dad used to tease me about that. never ever did I engage back in McKay days with those fans putting paper bags on their heads. I like Fitz statement, he’s seen/been through it all! So have we who been loving the Bucs no matter what. we need to stand behind our team, no more focus or attention to Winston as disappointing as his play on the field and the continued patterns of bad and egregious behavior off the field. focus on our TEAM not that individual. no more distractions please. not fair to the rest of the guys who are ready to rock and roll. JW has been given many opportunities and I am also an FSU supporter so we’ve seen the pattern for quite a while. Let’s GO BUCS!!!!! TAMPA…….. BAY!!! Fitzy and company, you’ve got this!!!!! 3-0 start boom!!!!!!!!!

  101. KyBucsFan Says:

    @Godeep66:

Now you’ve always been an a$$hole from your post s that i have read, but now you go as far as put his parents into this??? As a grown a$$ man, i can accept that i make mistakes and try my best not to have it affect those around me, but you don’t know my situation or upbringing so i would be looking to kick your a$$ for implying anything of the sort!!!

Some of you guys are a f*cking joke, wish you’d go root another team… Go Bucs
