Odd, Nameless Buccaneers Statement Issued On Jameis Winston Suspension Ruling

Your Buccaneers have issued a statement on the ugly, historic news of the day, except there is no name on it, no member of Team Glazer or Jason Licht.
That really struck Joe as strange and impersonal considering the magnitude of everything associated with the suspension of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, and the league labeling him as a sex offender.
Here’s the official team release, which doesn’t include Jameis’ last name.
“All members of our organization are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the Personal Conduct Policy of the NFL. We are disappointed that Jameis put himself in a position that has been found to violate the policy and accept today’s decision by the Commissioner.”

This statement is very standard under the circumstances……say as very little as possible and don’t add to the news…..it is simply saying….let’s move on.

If the alleged Sexual Abuse victim is fifteen (15) years of age or over, then the crime is a class five (5) felony. On a first offense, punishment can be probation with zero (0) days up to one (1) year in jail, or prison of six (6) months to two and one half (2.5) years in custody. If the person has one (1) historical allegeable prior felony conviction, then the “prison only” range is one (1) to three and three quarters (3.75) years of incarceration. If the person has two (2) historical allegeable prior felony convictions then the “prison only” range is three (3) years to seven and one half (7.5) years of incarceration.

The NFL did not provide any evidence, they took what she said and just reiterated it. There was no proof provided to back up her accusation. As for the “admission from Jameis” I guarantee that was part of his negotiation with the NFL. They make him apologize and not appeal, so his suspension got dropped from 6 to 3 games.

The NFL’s statement is supremely damning on its face. This is about as gutless and spineless a statement you’ll find- disappointed- heck, the league just labeled your starting QB and face of the franchise as an alcohol intolerant, sexual deviant/assaulter whose alibi did not withstand basic investigative scrutiny….and you’re disappointed? It appears true that the State of Arizona or the victim can still file for criminal sexual abuse…….here is the statute in Arizona. This is categorized as a class 5 felony. However, it is highly unlikely that since the driver didn’t report the incident to the police there will be no charges…..she would also likely have to file a complain in order for the state to pursue.

Criminal cases are filed by the State of Arizona on behalf of a victim. In order to file criminal charges, you must notify law enforcement of the sexual abuse. The authorities will investigate your claims and a prosecutor may file charges against your abuser. If a suspect is found guilty of criminal conduct, he or she may be sentenced to significant jail time and sex offender registration.
In Arizona, there is not a statute of limitations for:
Violent sexual abuse, and
Sexual assault involving a child under the age of 15.
Other Class 2-6 felonies must be filed within seven years of the offense. Misdemeanor offenses must be filed within a year. In his letter advising Winston of the suspension, Jones stated after full consideration of the record, including a meeting with Winston and his representatives, and a written submission by his attorneys, that the driver’s account of the incident was consistent and credible. As a result, the investigation had concluded that Winston violated the Personal Conduct Policy by touching the driver in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent and that disciplinary action was necessary and appropriate.

This will no doubt hurt Winston in the wallet in negotiations for a new contract, the young man screwed up and will pay the price. Let’s move on to Fitz for three games and roll with Winston after. I’m really amazed at all the stupid comments I’ve seen over the last few days. I looked back over a lot of threads looking for the stupidist (not a typo) things and realized that I’ve said the most stupid things of anybody on JBF.
For anyone who is really tired of stupidity and wants to read something decidedly unstupid, look at Lord’s post on Friday.
Then, I saw that some posts were banned and other people are in mandatory moderation and I thought. “Geeze, how stupid must those things have been.” And then I wondered. “Were they even more stupid than some of the things I’ve said?”

DB55…. I could not agree with you more!!! We have a total and complete ignorant fan base and deserve what we get on the field. Jameis will not be the first guy to touch a woman to see if she is interested. Hell if she touched him everyone would be calling him a stud and asking how far he went with her.

You say enough with the assumptions, but that is all you are doing too. ASSUMING he actually did something wrong simply because some girl said he did. Again, there was no proof. The NFL could not find any either, that is why he was only suspended 3 games and Goodell wants the whole thing under wraps.
If he really did grab her, why didn’t she immediately kick him out of the car?

Just because some girl “Kate” said it happened does not make it a fact. He was suspended because said girl claimed he did something. If the NFL actually had evidence he really did something inappropriate, he would have been suspended much longer.
