Buccaneers Trade Down

April 26th, 2018

GM Jason Licht

Dreams do come true!

Your Buccaneers have just traded down with the Buffalo Bills for a pile of picks. They get the No. 12 overall pick tonight and two second-rounders, No. 53 and No. 56 overall.

It’s going to be a very busy Friday night, unless the Bucs wheel and deal back into the bottom of the first round tonight.

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WELL DONE JASON LICHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Eric Says:

    Excellent move

  13. TheRealDrew Says:

This is perfect, because 2 linebackers are going to probably picked, which is not a need, and Miami probably goes QB. So Derwin James, Minkah, Vita will likely be there….2 of 3. And 3 2nd rounders!!!!

  14. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Gonna get a good defensive player at 12 and a RB, CB on friday

  15. Rlichtson Says:

    Darwin James or Fitzpatrick

  16. Bucsfan1010 Says:

Nice move should still get Derwin at 12… and maybe maybe get back into the first for a rb

  17. Mikadeemas Says:

    Oh Yeah!!!

  18. Buco Says:

St Pete bucfan, don’t count out a trade back into round one if there’s a stud. If not trade a second for 2 3rd picks. Depth. Again build through the draft!!! Honestly, I have been a Buc fan for a long time, and Licht has produced the best talented team the Bucs have had since our Super Bowl years.

  19. TheRealDrew Says:

    Or hell, even Davenport

  20. Costa Rica John Says:

I love the trade. We should be able to build the team the right way.

  21. IsrBuc Says:

They are killing me.. its 4 am i want to go to sleep.. and now they can trade up to have a late pick in the 1st rd… damn

  22. BoJim Says:

    Wow! Great move.

  23. Buc1987 Says:

    YES….Go Licht…Go Bucs…No Nelson!

    Dayum I knew it.

Trade back up into the first and get your th late!!!!

  24. Gencoimports Says:

Bills also get our 7th round pick.

Now, trade the 12th back to the Cards or Patriots!

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    Rb*

  26. bucsfan1988 Says:

HELL FREAKEN YEAH LICHT!!! You are da man!!! What an AWESOME move!!! We now have 4 of the 1st 56 pics in the draft!!!! We gonna get our new left/right guard, new RB, new corner, and who else knows?? Maybe new safety here as well??? Then we have #2 pic of the 4th round as well!! Jason, I’m bowing down to you in hat genius move!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

  27. Buc1987 Says:

I wanted Nelson and the whole freaking world knew the Colts would grab him.

  28. AKick'nTheBucNuts Says:

    Happy Days are here again!

  29. Rrsrq Says:

Yep, big 3 off the board and it fell right for a team needing a QB

  30. ncbucfanhere Says:

Derwin may still be there. If not, its still the best move. The SS position is deep. We may be targeting a different position.

  31. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Was open to the big 3 or this. Now holding my breath until 12…..

    What up, 87?

  32. Tackleblockwin Says:

Let’s trade down again for more picks lol! I told you all we were sitting pretty at #7. Maybe Rosen still on board and someone will want to move up to our pick to get him.

  33. Tim Says:

Yay we can now trade back in the 2nd round and get a kicker! Lol

  34. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Wow, I’m getting more psyched. I’m thinking James, Fitzpatrick or Davenport at #12. Watch out for a run on RB’s. If that happens, we may need to trade back into the bottom of the 1st round.

  35. Tim Says:

    1st round I meant lol

  36. Ludicrous Speed Says:

Great Value!!! Actual trade value would have been the two second rounders plus Buffalo’s 22nd pick in the first round, but we get their 12th pick in the first round instead. A little fleecing on our part! Great!!!

Anybody remember the last time we traded from 7th back to 12th in the first round? It was 1995 and we got Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks out of that trade.

  37. Rob F Says:

We still have the 38th pick too?

  38. ImtiredAnd87isright Says:

I say if Minkah is their at 12 we take him. Go Bucs! Love the trade!

  39. Ludicrous Speed Says:

In comparing our trade with the Raiders & Cards, we got 430 pts of draft value OVER the fair trade value, whereas the Raiders ended up with 25 points UNDER the fair trade value. We out-finessed Gruden.

  40. Ludicrous Speed Says:

    Vita Vea it is

  41. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Derwin,

then rb/o line/ d line / cb in some fashion with the 2nds.

  42. ncbucfanhere Says:

I just said the SS position is deep……..

  43. ncbucfanhere Says:

I personally like Justin Reid at SS. Vita Vea to me is a great pick. The Panthers run….the Saints run…..the Falcons run…..forget what the outsiders say this is a great pick!!

  44. Jeffbuc Says:

Betterbuckenbelieveit are you here. You have been posting on every draft article except for tonight.

Licht did what he should have done!

However, how about that Jason eh? He moved down just 5 spots, still got the exact guy he wanted and added two 2nd rounders … Gruden moved down 5 spots, settled for a tackle projected to be picked about 10 slots latter and all he got was a 3rd and a 5th … the Raiders actually got LESS VALUE according to the Jimmy Johnson draft chart, even though they were the ones moving down.

Gruden has been a disaster for the Raiders so far!

  46. NFLNut Says:

    ***************

Licht picked up an extra 67% in draft capital according to the Jimmy Johnson scale in the trade down with the Bills … I said he’d get at least 40% and EVERYONE seemed to think I was insane!
