  8. Jeffbuc Says:

    Come on Nick Chubb

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Jim Brown is 82 years old? Wow. So he was 60 years old in Mars Attacks? That’s amazing to me.

  10. SB Says:

I would have a chubby if we pick up Chubb!

  11. MadMax Says:

and the last pick of our 2nd or maybe trade into the 3rd….Shaquim Griffin.

  12. Dewey Selmon Says:

We have outstanding production with LSU players. Guice @38?

  13. Pistol Pete Says:

    Agree on Chubb….love him.

  14. Bird Says:

If Jason Licht can manage to identify and draft 3 starters that will match or exceed the expectations of their draft position – today could really be a turning point for this franchise.

We need RB, CB and either Safety, OG/OT or DE out of these three 2nd rd picks in whatever order gets us the best players and value.

    OG- Hernandez
    RB – Guice
    CB – Josh Jackson

There’s 3 players that all carried mid to late 1st rd grades by most all draft pundits – yet are still available heading into the 2nd rd.

5 picks in front of us. Might one of those 3 be available at #38?
    Fingers crossed.

If not – then there’s a pretty good chance that Nick Chubb will be there. Chubb would be my pick at #38 if he’s there and the above 3 are off the board.

Here are other players that I like for the Bucs with these 3 second round picks depending on how things fall and which position gets the 38th pick.

    CB – Isiah Oliver (CO)
    CB – Donte Jackson (LSU)
    CB – Carlton Davis (Auburn)

RB – Ronald Jones II (USC)
    RB – Kerryon Juhnson (Auburn)

    S – Justin Reid (Stanford)
    S – Ronnie Harrison (Bama)
S – Terrell Edmunds (Va Tech)

    OT – Orlando Brown (OK)
    OT – Brian O’Neill (Pitt)
    OG – Braden Smith (Auburn)
    OT/OG/C – Austin Corbett (Nevada)

    DE – Harold Landry (BC)
DE – Sam Hubbard (Ohio St)
    DE – Josh Sweat (FSU)

    Worth repeating.

  16. MadMax Says:

Dont know much about Corbett….good pick Browns (chuckle)

  17. Bird Says:

    Giants pick quick

    Will Hernandez?

  18. MadMax Says:

    Here goes Will or Connor….

  19. lurker Says:

    that was fast…

  20. MadMax Says:

    Big Will 🙁

  21. Bird Says:

    Dang

    Gettleman knows how to draft

  22. lurker Says:

    byebye

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

    “Pablo is crushed…..”

  24. Bird Says:

    Browns pick quick

    Landry or guice ?

  25. StPeteBucsFan Says:

The Giants just got our guard. I suspect we go RB now.

  26. MadMax Says:

please F it up again Browns……

  27. lurker Says:

    these are going fast

  28. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Knew that was coming. Go getJACKSON

  29. Bucs Guy Says:

Get your OL now before they’re all gone. Williams from TX?

  30. Bird Says:

    Dang.

  31. MadMax Says:

    Dammit, Chubb!!! 🙁

  32. Jeffbuc Says:

    Well crap

  33. SB Says:

    Sh!T……………..

  34. TheRealDrew Says:

    Damn!

  35. SB Says:

    There goes my Chubby

  36. MadMax Says:

thats ok, Connor and Guice still there for us

  37. Bucs Guy Says:

And now Chubb is gone. Do you go RB now?

  38. Wesley Says:

    Dammit Chubb gone!

  39. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Lets go ahead and get Guice……Don’t mess around, Jason.

  40. Rod Munch Says:

Fine with me, the Bucs need corners and a safety way before they need a RB or a G.

  41. lurker Says:

    bye bye

  42. Pistol Pete Says:

    Down goes Chubb…

  43. Jeffbuc Says:

Now Guice is gone and we’re stuck with a c runningback

  44. Bird Says:

    Geuce falling.

I wonder if bucs want him.

    Josh Jackson would be sweet.

Chubb has some bad knees. Not huge loss.

  45. Wesley Says:

Shoulda traded up for Chubb he will be a beast.

  46. Bucs Guy Says:

Colts won’t take another OL, but they will take DL and RB.

  47. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Guice or Jackson……

  48. lurker Says:

bucs will get josh jackson or reid

  49. feelthepewterpower Says:

    Colts may knab Jackson/Guice. Though
harold landry is possible as well. Buccs should take Isaiah Oliver for the win.

  50. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Still good RBs relax

  51. Oxycondoms Says:

People on here jinxed Bucs out of getting Chubb I saw it coming

  52. Bird Says:

    COlts go Landry

  53. gambelero Says:

no panicking guys. so many good players still there

  54. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Call CJ Anderson….draft Jackson at 38…..2 BPA’s at 53 and 56.

  55. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Want Jones or Guice or maybe Jackson. Let’s go Jason! Don’t’ “F” it up!

  56. Bird Says:

    And then?

  57. lurker Says:

i believe landry to indy too

  58. SB Says:

I respectfully disagree Rod. The pass rush we have now I think negates the need for an elite secondary. I would rather have the best OG right now than anything else.

  59. Bucs Guy Says:

Just don’t take Ronald Jones from USC.

  60. USFBUC Says:

Just want to see Guice fall to us

  61. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Why does it take a year to announce the darn pick

  62. lurker Says:

    LB Darius Leonard

  63. DalvinCookRules Says:

I fear the Bucs will reach for a player…. oh, and then they will say he was the highest on their board.

  64. Dewey Selmon Says:

This is nuts, Jut announce the picks!

  65. Bird Says:

    WHO?

  66. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Who?

  67. MadMax Says:

ahhh, thought he was about to say Guice when he said Derrius.

  68. Bird Says:

    Jackson or deuce.

    Oh yah

  69. Bucs Guy Says:

Love Indy picks. Everyone’should still in play

  70. Spicoli Says:

    Guice!!!

  71. lurker Says:

Bucs will select Southern Cal RB Ronald Jones

    –rick stroud

  72. gambelero Says:

had to be a linebacker, oline for indy

  73. Stanglassman Says:

    RoJoII

  74. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Lets goo Licht! Show time. Get J Jackson NOW

  75. Buc4life24 Says:

    Guice or Jackson here!!

  76. DI Says:

    Josh Jackson incoming?

  77. Defense Rules Says:

    Guice is still there …

  78. MadMax Says:

    Guice or Connor please…..or Landry!!

  79. Rod Munch Says:

A RB who ran a 4.65 when you have Ryan Smith and Chris Conte starting…

  80. 01buco Says:

    Josh Jackson!

  81. gambelero Says:

    Guice, williams or jjack

  82. 01buco Says:

    Come on bucs

  83. USFBUC Says:

Come on make the easy pick here

  84. NFLRealist Says:

    RONALD JONES IS THE PICK

  85. ShutTheBucUp Says:

…………………… what do you guys think ?

  86. lurker Says:

    always a commercial for bucs…
    just like last year

  87. DalvinCookRules Says:

Ronald Jones is a poor man’s Reggie Bush. Very VERY poor man.

  88. Gencoimports Says:

Networks always go to a commercial when it’s our turn to pick.

  89. BROCKTACULAR Says:

Runner or Resistance???? Whats the next pick?

  90. Rojas Says:

    Bucs pick Ronald Jones

  91. BucThis Says:

Josh Jackson. Trade up for Guice

  92. Bird Says:

They could go back and get jones

  93. StAugBuc Says:

    It’s Jones

  94. Stanglassman Says:

He was faster than that 40 time don’t let that fool you. ROJO will be a great back.

  95. DevilFish Says:

Commercial again for the Bucs pick. 3 times in 3 picks now.

  96. MadMax Says:

Good gosh, fu nfl network…..i hate you

  97. NJBucsFan Says:

Ugh. jones is the last RB in the draft I would have selected. His vision is horrible.

  98. gambelero Says:

so many great players here, but none stand out…so you trade down, get that third back.

  99. lurker Says:

how is he faster than the 40 time? lol

  100. MadMax Says:

Im good with JonesII we need that!

  101. Oxycondoms Says:

Said it last night if they wanted a good one they needed to trade up

  102. Bucs Guy Says:

Please not Jones. Can’t block, catch and played bad in biggest games.

  103. CarrollwoodBucFan Says:

Guise or the CB from Iowa

  104. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Always take a break for our pick….

  105. Dewey Selmon Says:

If we hadn’t traded, this would be it for the night.

  106. Wesley Says:

CB, S, RB, OG in any order, just get best available.

  107. Dave Says:

    Guice?

  108. Bird Says:

    It’s jones. Confirmed

  109. Oxycondoms Says:

Licht only trades up for kickers

  110. lurker Says:

get a rb and someone will complain

  111. Bucs Guy Says:

    Noooooooooooo9o

  112. K_Bassuka Says:

    Boooooooo!

  113. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Lurker and Stroud don’t do that. Annoying as hell

  114. DalvinCookRules Says:

so the Bucs have now wasted both of their first two picks.

  115. Sweeptheleg Says:

    Yes!!!

  116. Rod Munch Says:

    Chris Conte.
    Ryan Smith.

Is Licht not aware that those two are starting for the Bucs? They’re terrible, terrible, terrible players/

  117. Gencoimports Says:

    Ronald Jones!

BTW, I can see the picks on twitter about a minute before it’s announced on the tube.

  118. DevilFish Says:

    Nooooooooo

  119. Rod Munch Says:

Is Jones in a cult? He’ll fit right in in Clearwater.

  120. Spicoli Says:

Damn what’s up with Guice’s draft stock

  121. MadMax Says:

Now we need Connor Williams and jesse Bates…

  122. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Very happy to have him

  123. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    BOOM!!!!!!!

  124. BritishColumbiaBuc Says:

GUICE???! Ir was he already picked? I’m in mexico

  125. Sweeptheleg Says:

    @dalvincookrules

    You’re an idiot. Stfu.

  126. Spicoli Says:

Will still have two more picks to address the secondary tonight.

  127. BritishColumbiaBuc Says:

Maybe El Lichto truly sucks at 2nd rounders?

  128. Dewey Selmon Says:

Guice lied and said some teams asked if his mom was a whore and if he likes men. It was all a lie.

  129. Jeagan1999 Says:

Jones is a solid runner…..I’m just surprised they took him. Guess we will go CB at 53 or 56.

  130. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    RB Ronald Jones, II

    Good pick!

  131. El_Buc941 Says:

    Jones II it is!!!

  132. Frank Pillow Says:

Guice alledgedly has some red flags beyond what’s been openly reported…

  133. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs are going to have to up 35 points a game to win if Ryan Smith and Chris Conte are starting.

  134. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

This guy is most often compared to Jamal Charles. I have a feeling he will be our Kamara.

  135. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Rod relax until after the draft before you freak out about starters. Or join the sky is falling every day crew. Plenty of members.

  136. lurker Says:

what is wrong with this runningback?

    people like him.
people wanted dalvin cook and not this kid?

like they said, he ran behind a patchwork oline last year…just like this year.

  137. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We got our RB….no messing around…

  138. gambelero Says:

we’ve had twice as much commercial time as air time, annoying as heck.

  139. Capt.Tim Says:

    Yessss!!
    Great Rb!!
Now we draft a CB and a Safety with next two picks.

This is shaping up to be Lichts best draft yet!!
Cant wait to see Barber and Jones together next year.

    Cb Tavarios McFadden
    Safety Marcus Allen

    4th round
    Chad Thomas DE
    Wyatt Teller- OG

And we will be an entirely different team

  140. Steve Says:

1500 yards and 19 touchdowns last season!! Why are people complaining about this guy and saying he has no vision?

  141. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I knew it would not be Guice. Had him on my list just in case, but I figured the character concerns were too much.

  142. lurker Says:

    oops

just read this from greg auman:
“New Bucs RB Ronald Jones’ combine 40 time of 4.65 seconds was due to a hamstring injury. Was timed at 4.48 at USC pro day …”

  143. DalvinCookRules Says:

Jones is good in the open field, the problem is the Bucs running game isn’t about open field speed, it’s about getting through the LOS using power, balance, & vision…. Jones brings none of that.

  144. Rod Munch Says:

Reading about Jones, his profile makes him sound just like Doug Martin.

  145. AB4L Says:

Would have preferred a CB with that pick

  146. bucsfan1988 Says:

Ok everyone, here is the scoop on RJJ2’d 40 time…He ran 4.65 st the combine with an injured hamstring. Re-ran his 40 time at the USC pro-day and ran 4.48 but still with a bit of lingering hamstring injury…He expects to be right at 4.40 or sub 4.50 when fully healed…This dude has juice & explosion which is perfect with Peyton Barber!!!

  147. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Steve,

We have people here that will only complain no matter what the Bucs do. We could win a superbowl, and they would claim we had too easy a schedule.

  148. Defense Rules Says:

Rod, I was rooting for Guice or CB Jackson, but Jones may be a good pick. That 4.65 in the 40 is a bogus time (he pulled a hammy) … he actually runs somewhere between a 4.4 – 4.5 which is quite good IMO. I just wish he was heavier. But, maybe Licht will grab Bo Scarborough later, then I’ll be happy. Time to get a CB and an OLineman with our remaining 2nd Rnd picks.

  149. Rod Munch Says:

Ah, Jones pulled his hamstring on the 40, thus why it’s so terrible. Make sense as 4.65 is abnormally slow.

  150. Capt.Tim Says:

Jones is a great Back. Hes such an improvement over Doug Martin.
People will have to respect our running game this year

  151. bucsfan1988 Says:

Supposed to say sub 4.40 when fully healed for RJJ2

  152. Rod Munch Says:

Defense Rules – Yeah just read that he pulled his hammy on the run. Just reading up on him now, I didn’t know much about him. I don’t dislike the player the more I read, I just hate the pick for the Bucs since they have much much more pressing needs.

  153. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If Landry falls to our next pick, do we take him? Be dumb not to.

  154. lurker Says:

what is great is defensive backs getting pushed down.

also, don’t be surprised if bucs get some cornerbacks in free agency

  155. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Nevermind, lol.

  156. lurker Says:

…the east coast bias is heavy here on joebucsfan

  157. Rod Munch Says:

Did no one else notice that Jones was sitting in a room with a bunch of people all dressed like they were in a cult? Very very odd.

  158. lurker Says:

    also, i apologize.

i will not tip picks again.

  159. Baker Mayfield Says:

    Seminole fans are getting salty.

  160. Phillip Says:

Jamaal Charles 2.0.. Yes please! We finally have a legit home run threat at RB

  161. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Next pick should be S Justin Reid.

  162. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    For Bucs I mean.

  163. Rod Munch Says:

Jones was the top rated RB on PFF…

Then again PFF said OJ Howard was the worst first round pick last year…

The more I read about the Jones and see him the more I like him, but man, I don’t understand how the Bucs pass on corner and safety… Had they just signed Gaines in FA it would be a completely different conversation right now, but man, Licht is playing with fire.

  164. gambelero Says:

always trading down, always winning championships, that’s NE

  165. Rod Munch Says:

    Nate Burleson is a douchebag.

Detroit is the armpit of America, or at least it smells like it.

  166. delson Says:

Ronald jones was a great pick!!

  167. lurker Says:

keep pushing those defensive backs down

  168. feelthepewterpower Says:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1m2vVxWrlU – Jones isnt a good pass catcher. Not sure about his blocking, but his durability is going to be a huge concern. Him not being a pass catcher is also a concern as a passing catching back can keep teams guessing as to whether its going to be a pass or run. Guice didnt have many catches, either, but he at least showed passing-catching ability. Jones has had ugly drops on his few pass attempts.

  169. BobbyBucs Says:

    @lurker

Don’t stop, keep them coming if you know

Any idea on the next 2?

  170. Rod Munch Says:

Jones doesn’t need to be a good pass catcher, that’s why they brought back Sims.

  171. Kobe Faker Says:

    Munch

Its finally coming to my conclusion that forrest thinks it was solely the lack of pass rush why our corners sucked

    Hard to believe

  172. Kobe Faker Says:

Thats why koetters rb rotation sucks…its too predicable because we dont have a 3 down back. Def coods know whats going to happen when sims comes in

  173. Dewey Selmon Says:

Anyone against drafting another RB? Take a chance on Guice?

  174. BobbyBucs Says:

Jones is going to be great

Excited about JL getting 2 additional picks in the second

  175. Dewey Selmon Says:

I have no problem going CB/CB.

  176. Dewey Selmon Says:

There goes Jackson to GB. they went CB/CB

  177. delson Says:

Vita will teach koetter to call outside run plays. Ronald jones is the best back to do it.

  178. Rod Munch Says:

Kobe – Yeah I don’t get it, I don’t get how you can watch Ryan Smith run around completely clueless and watch Chris Conte get burned again and again and again and think the problem was the defensive line. I mean it was, the d-line was terrible, but the corners were arguably even worse. I have no issue with building from the line and then going back, but putting your season on 2nd or 4th round rookies, wow is that risky. Incredibly risky. Not impossible by any means, but very very risky.

  179. gambelero Says:

    nooooo. wanted jjax

  180. Dewey Selmon Says:

Isaiah Oliver Colorado CB. still there

  181. USFBUC Says:

Sucks he didn’t slide all the way to us

  182. DevilFish Says:

    Damn Josh Jackson gone

  183. Bird Says:

    Dang

    Wanted him

  184. Jeagan1999 Says:

Damn. Thought Jackson would have been a good fit for us!

  185. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Noooo Jackson!!!

Shoot Licht go get Oliver now.

  186. BucThis Says:

HOW THE FXCK CAN YOU TRADE UP FOR A FXCKING KICKER BUT YOU DONT TRADE UP FOR A GOD DXMN CORNER.

LICHT!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE FXCKING RYAN SMITH, RYAN FXCKING SMITH WAKE UP

  187. lurker Says:

    lotsa trades happening again

  188. DevilFish Says:

Yeah we need Oliver now. No doubt about it.

  189. NFLRealist Says:

I love how so many Bucs fans think they’re better talent evaluators than NFL Scouts. LOL. Made even more ridiculous is linking to videos made by some fantasy football loving kid that makes YouTube videos about prospects.

  190. Greg Says:

Isaiah Oliver is a stud, if we have to trade up a little to get him so be it.

  191. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Plenty of CBs left that are very good. I don’t know why you people are freaking out. Safety is the one that has fewer good players. Better hope a good one falls to us!

  192. Skoorb921 Says:

Probably could’ve taken Josh Jackson with that first pick tonight and still gotten Jones or a comparable back.

  193. BobbyBucs Says:

Oliver will be gone by the time we pick

  194. delson Says:

If we finish up with a cb like oliver and a de/lb like lorenzo carter this could be the best draft we’ve had with licht

  195. lurker Says:

    six picks to go…
    corners and safeties still there

  196. feelthepewterpower Says:

Jones doesn’t need to be a good pass catcher, that’s why they brought back Sims.

    —————————-
Yes he does…you’re essentially telegraphing to the defense that Sims is in for pass catching…and Jones for running.

  197. feelthepewterpower Says:

Jones 6.0 avg. came against the pac 12…a conference that went 1-8 in bowl games last season.

  198. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I will pose this question to all of you. When was the last time the Bucs had a back with breakaway speed who would not be caught from behind???
    I’ll wait.

  199. StAugBuc Says:

Wish the whiners would go to bed. Sheesh

  200. Rod Munch Says:

feelthepewterpower – He needs to be able to catch, he doesn’t need to be “good” at it, Sims is the 3rd down back and for a smaller RB who has durability concerns, not having him play 3 downs isn’t a bad thing.

  201. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

So far, both our picks have been on my wishlist, so I’m happy.

  202. America's QB Says:

Anyone know if jones can be used for kickoffs or punt returns??

  203. Bird Says:

    Donte jacksoN and Connor Williams

  204. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Alvin, Warrick Dunn

  205. Rod Munch Says:

Alvin – Who are the best 3 RB’s in team history? Doug Martin, Warrick Dunn and James Wilder, all guys who were not homerun threats. You get like maybe 4-5 chances at a homerun play a year, it’s the other 200 touches that prove your worth. I don’t dislike the pick, but the “homerun” hitter angle is way overplayed.

  206. JabooBuc Says:

Said it on this site many times that you want to stay away from Guice. Bad dude and NFL teams know it. Major issues at LSU.

    ————————–
the term “third down back” is not optimal. in the NFL, you want to keep teams off balance. IE pass the ball on 1st and 2nd downs, and especially check it down to rb’s in those downs. The goal is to avoid third downs altogether.

  208. gambelero Says:

    still some very good CBs

  209. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

lol. Cowgirls got dissed by a kicker!

  210. DevilFish Says:

    That was hilarious!

  211. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Isiah Oliver. please…

  212. Kobe Faker Says:

  216. Rod Munch Says:

  217. lurker Says:

    2 picks left until bucs

defensive backs aplenty, but oline going

  218. Clw JB Says:

CB, SS or OG next two picks – this is going very well

  219. gambelero Says:

must have been a medical issue with Williams, had a 1st round grade

  220. DevilFish Says:

    Oliver and Reid please.

  221. feelthepewterpower Says:

Man, I hope the Colts don’t take Isaiah Oliver…..

  222. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Oliver ftw

  223. MadMax Says:

Come on Rod, i thought you were better than that 🙁

  224. Rod Munch Says:

What’s the odds ESPN cuts to break when the Bucs are up?

  225. MadMax Says:

Im happy for Connor!!! Great guy and talented.

  226. Buc4life24 Says:

I second Reid and Oliver! Let’s double up on our secondary!

  227. Rod Munch Says:

MadMax – I’m not better than that, I hate whiners who seek out attention and have to make everything about themselves.

  228. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Corners
    01. Isaiah Oliver CB Colorado 6′ 1″ 190
    02. Carlton Davis CB Auburn 6′ 1″ 205
    03. Donte Jackson CB LSU 5′ 11″ 175

    Safeties
    01. Ronnie Harrison S Alabama 6′ 3″ 216
    02. Justin Reid S Stanford 6′ 1″ 205
    03. Jesse Bates FS Wake Forest 6′ 1″ 195

  229. MadMax Says:

hmmm, Arden Key and Josh Sweat still there for DE!

  230. unbelievable Says:

Jones just seems way undersized to me to be a 3 down back.

Which means predictable run and pass plays based on which RB we have in the game. Meh.

Really hope I’m wrong! But damn I wanted Guice, and I live in so cal.

  231. feelthepewterpower Says:

Please Colts, do not take Oliver….

  232. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    CB Oliver
    S Reid

Those would be my bucs picks

  233. MadMax Says:

Haha, at least you’re honest Rod. Hate on! lol

  234. Dewey Selmon Says:

I would go Oliver then grab Donte Jackson

  235. lurker Says:

    bucs on the clock

  236. MadMax Says:

  237. DevilFish Says:

  243. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

  244. MadMax Says:

And here comes the commercial right when we pick……smdh!

  245. Buc4life24 Says:

    Commercial…surprise surprise

  246. DevilFish Says:

Bucs are up, its commercial time……

  247. Bird Says:

    Olivier or Jackson at db?

  248. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Rod Munch – That’s fine you want to tell me the best RB’s aren’t home run hitters. However, we probably haven’t had one since Bo Jackson, and oh, by the way, he never played for us.
A 60 yard plus run can completely change a game. Jones is a great pick. Now, bring me a DB.

  249. Rod Munch Says:

THEY DID IT AGAIN…. THEY GO TO BREAK WITH THE BUCS PICK IN!

Holy Jesus, this is just a running gag at this point.

  250. gambelero Says:

predict a commercial even after our pick is in

  251. Bird Says:

    Quick pick too

  252. Dewey Selmon Says:

And we have a commercial. lol

  253. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Or Double Down – and Grab Guice.
Good Lawd …Smh…Don’t let Carolina grab’em

  254. Capt.Tim Says:

Buc pick in- NfL network goes to commercial- AGAIN!
    Cant keep being a coincidence

  255. unbelievable Says:

Do y’all believe me that the NFL hates the Bucs yet?

They’ve gone to commercial for EVERY SINGLE PICK when the Bucs are on the clock. Lol.

I know I know, we don’t deserve respect, blah blah…

  256. SpaceCoastJustin Says:

    Draft a CB here..
Then draft Shaquem Griffin and let him compete for safety and play special teams!

  257. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This pi&&es me off……a commercial break on every one of our picks….this is BS.

  258. Rod Munch Says:

Who the hell is this guy the Bucs picked? Never heard of him.

  259. unbelievable Says:

NFL network, ESPN and FOX all on cue go to commercial when the Bucs are up.

  260. Bird Says:

    Good db here

  261. B-Rad Says:

Commercial every time Bucs pick. Rediculous, hopefully we start winning and earn respect again.

  262. gambelero Says:

noticed the quickness also, Bird. Our guy remained on the board

  263. Dewey Selmon Says:

Grab Oliver then trade back with #56

  264. StAugBuc Says:

#Bucs select North Carolina CB M.J. Stewert

  265. Capt.Tim Says:

Still 4 really good CBs left- hope we grab one

  266. lurker Says:

  267. Sausage King Of Chicago Says:

Commercial every time. They can’t do it again when we pick 3 slots later.

  268. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The should take Justin Reid here. Safety.

    He’s got a rating of 6.06.

Should still be a CB there at our next pick.

  269. Defense Rules Says:

There’s your commercial Rod. Sure hope we grab a CB now (Oliver would be a good pick).

  270. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Like spike Lee said do the right thing.

    Get Oliver

  271. lurker Says:

agree, safety first then plenty of corners available

  272. lurker Says:

    who?

  273. K_Bassuka Says:

    Wtf!!!

  274. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, he’s not on my radar, lol.

  275. Bird Says:

    What ?

  276. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Who???

  277. Dewey Selmon Says:

They just called MJ Stewart a flag magnet

  278. Mord Says:

    Who?

  279. Buc Neckid Says:

    What?!?

  280. unbelievable Says:

  283. DevilFish Says:

  284. Rojas Says:

Lol ???? Ummm Isaiah Oliver was there.. but okay.

  285. BucThis Says:

Wtf we already have a slot corner. THIS IS WHY FANS FREAK OUT

  286. Defense Rules Says:

    Stewart? Huh … I don’t get it.

  287. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Good Prospect, but ain’t this kid a slot corner?

  288. ShutTheBucUp Says:

    Smh

  289. Buc Neckid Says:

He May be a Safety in NFL

  290. MadMax Says:

    NOOOO!!!!!!! Bates gone! Crap!

  291. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

No picks over the past two seasons…

  292. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I’m not mad at the pick just don’t know about the guy.

  293. Rod Munch Says:

So the Bucs took a corner who has to play press and can’t play off the line when they have Mike Smith playing everyone 15 yards off the line of scrimmage.

  294. ShutTheBucUp Says:

    This is wild

  295. Walter Says:

    Good feelings gone

  296. Buc Neckid Says:

    Corner is Next
Oliver and Jackson still on the Board

  297. MadMax Says:

Alright, get Guice or Griffin Mr Licht!

  298. Buc4life24 Says:

LOL at our selection and the commentators reaction. Ummmm ok…Licht makes another questionable 2nd round pick!

  299. lurker Says:

    bucs up again

  300. gambelero Says:

not a Mike Smith corner, that pick may be for AS (after Smith)

  301. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

MJ Stewart will move to SS. He’s not a Cb

  302. MadMax Says:

    We traded to NE!

  303. donuts Says:

  304. gambelero Says:

tradedown unless you really want the Louisville tackle

  305. Buc Neckid Says:

Traded Down in Second with NE

  306. Rojas Says:

Are the Bucs allergic to 6 ft tall corners ? Not named Ryan Smith..

  307. SpaceCoastJustin Says:

Did we just trade our pick to NE?

  308. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs traded down… I like it.

  309. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Traded back with NE

  310. MadMax Says:

    Watch Bill take Guice!

  311. Oxycondoms Says:

That’s why you use one of your extra picks to trade up

  312. Dewey Selmon Says:

Donte Jackson will come back to haunt Jameis.

  313. Sausage King Of Chicago Says:

    Bucs trade back with pats

  314. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

    Hmm we traded back

  315. lurker Says:

lol…commercial on fox for our spot though, despite trade

  316. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

He’s a Safety…that makes sense. So our next pick will be a true CB.

  317. feelthepewterpower Says:

The trade just told us the Buccs might of been looking at Donte Jackson….they will likely grab Neheim Hines in the third. I have no clue what Licht is thinking passing on Oliver.

  318. lurker Says:

lol…commercial for our spot though, despite trade

  319. gambelero Says:

    terms?

  320. Rod Munch Says:

ESPN got tricked by the Bucs trading the pick to the Pats, they already started going to commercial and couldn’t get out of it.

  321. Buc Neckid Says:

No Team needs a CB between here and NE traded to TB Pick

  322. Capt.Tim Says:

Hmmm. Sure woulda took Oliver or Jackson over this guy-
    -unless
They plan to play him at safety, where his aggresion would work.

Bucs Moved an over aggressive CB to safety once before. He was on our Superbowl team.
    Last name Smith

  323. Eric Says:

Garbage pick , Panthers get the much higher rated db and now we trade away our pick to NE. Browns south in effect!

  324. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Is he a safety? Isn’t he like 203?

  325. lurker Says:

    we trade out of second?
    better get 2 thirds

  326. feelthepewterpower Says:

  328. lurker Says:

drop 7 spots and just get a 4th

  329. ATrain Says:

Why move to get a Fourth pick
    Atleast get a third

  330. Dewey Selmon Says:

Capt Tim, they also drafted a CB and moved him to SS. Ryan Smith

  331. Curse of Gruden Says:

Rod – you couldn’t be more correct!
    We fooled them.

  332. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Got their second and the Round 4· Pick 17 (117)

  333. Kobe Faker Says:

CAN WE DO A DO OVER with Buffalo

    Just swap #7 with #12, no 2nds

We get derwin james at #12

We will even give them our 2nd

    Pleassee?

    Kobe the Parrot

  334. Proudbucsfan Says:

Why do we draft slow corners? This guy is gonna get blown out just like Hargreaves.

  335. gambelero Says:

seven spots for a fourth rounder (from Greg Auman)

  336. lurker Says:

5 more picks to go until bucs

  337. DalvinCookRules Says:

While I might hate all three of the Bucs picks, you know who will hate them more? The coaching staff coming in next year.

  338. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Joe would rather have a punter than this pick…..I wouldn’t…..I like Brian Anger…

Lets see who we pick later in the 2nd……we get an extra pick……we can use those 4th round picks to move into the third if we like.

  339. MadMax Says:

Alright…if Guice is still there….GET HIM!!!!!

We have two 4ths, spend one on Nelson and the other on Harrison….CB/RT!

  340. BROCKTACULAR Says:

    dumb trade…

  341. lurker Says:

    Ahh, there goes Oliver!

  343. feelthepewterpower Says:

Damn it….Falcons just got Oliver!!!!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  344. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Using the 2nd to trade for Earl Thomas or Draft Armani Watts.

  345. Rod Munch Says:

Nothing was better than watching Vick run wild on the NFL his rookie year, then Brooks completely shutting him down.

  346. Buc Neckid Says:

    CB Carlton Davis maybe next???

  347. lurker Says:

ouch though in jackson and olivier going in division

  348. Rojas Says:

Well Falcons got the better Corner..

  349. Mord Says:

Why was whatsisname higher on the Bucs’ draft board than Oliver?

  350. NFLRealist Says:

KOBE FAKER – 15 other teams passed on Derwin James for a reason.

On conference call, Bucs second-rounder M.J. Stewart says Bucs told him they may use him “inside or at safety” — has also played outside corner.

  353. Rod Munch Says:

So Bucs will use Stewart as a corner, meaning he’s a slot corner… meaning Chris Conte and Ryan Smith are still starters.

  354. lurker Says:

3 more until bucs pick again

  355. MadMax Says:

Alright! Here comes Shaquim Griffin! Do it Licht!!!!

  356. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Looks like Hargreaves – is moving back to the outside…

    LCB-Brent Grimes
    RCB-Vernon Hargreaves
    SCB-MJ Stewart

  357. Greg Says:

Granted we have no clue how these guys will pan out in the NFL, but this has been a rough round

  358. Rod Munch Says:

lurker – Auman says the Bucs say he’ll play corner, not safety.

  359. THETRUTH Says:

JAMES was a risk coming off injury and not haveing that good of year after. We don’t need risk or projects that early

  362. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Insider Info: Bucs are targeting T Orlando Brown with their next pick.

  363. Capt.Tim Says:

Unlike many here- I like like Ryan Smith.
He made some rookie mistakes. No biggie.
His mechanics were really good. Transitions from back pedal to run really fluidly. Keeps his guy in front of him.

Until he had to do it for 15 damn seconds.

With a decent pass rush- I believe Ryan Smith can be a really good CB.
Watch him play this year- with our new D-Line. He will look good.Grimes is a great CB, yet our horrible DEs made him look bad last year also.

    Gotta have a pass rush.

  364. lurker Says:

Beast boy. Finally a tall strong corner

  383. Rod Munch Says:

Ryan Smith is literally the worst cornerback I’ve ever seen in my life, ever. He’s awful – zero redeeming qualities, he shouldn’t be in the NFL.

  384. Greg Says:

Great! we just picked discount Oliver!

  385. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Cool, good pick.

Sounds like Hargreaves – is fighting for a roster spot. lol

Hopefully we can trade back into the 3rd, and draft Armani Watts

  386. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Now we need a G…..

  387. Rod Munch Says:

Mike Smith had better change up his terrible defensive play calling – the Bucs have taken two corners that have to play on the LOS. Hopefully one of these two guys can play… hopefully.

  388. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Woot! We just got a 3rd guy from my wishlist!

  394. USFBUC Says:

I really hope we aren’t doing the whole, you’re a CB but we are going to force you into a S position.

  395. Capt.Tim Says:

Not thrilled with Stewart pick, but love the Carlton Davis pick.
This kid is a really goid cover corner.

    Rod Munch
    – you hate Ryan Smith based on what, his rookie season?
Hes another news flash for the zombies. All rookies suck.
    Everyone.
The only ones that flash are RBs and Wrs- and even they dont knock blocking schemes, etc..
Every rookie has to get stronger, and increase their football knowledge by 3 fold.
The only thing that sucked about Smith- was that they started him as a rookie, against the Superior NFC South passing offenses.

  396. Rod Munch Says:

Capt.Tim – I hate Ryan Smith because I have these things called eyes, they allow me to watch him run around completely lost on the field and show zero progression throughout the year. I’ve watched football for over 30 years now and Ryan Smith is literally the worst guy I’ve ever seen – he has zero football awareness, none. He constantly got turned around in coverage, got ran by, got juked, missed tackles and allowed more big plays than anyone I’ve ever seen in my life. If you watched games and think he wasn’t a complete and total trainwreck, then you need to go back and watch the games again.

I’m not alone in that opinion – I believe it was Football Outsiders, which is actually pretty much on the spot most of the time, ranked him as the 2nd worst corner in the NFL – not starters, the 2nd worst period. They claimed some guy, I think in Chicago, was slightly worse, but I find that impossible to believe. On PFF, which I’ll grant you is normally completely useless, he’s rank #105… I think they only rank like 120 corners.

The other part, as I said, is that he showed no progression, he looked just as lost in that Saints game as he did in the preseason against the Bengals. He’s terrible and shouldn’t be on the field. Maybe with another couple of decades learning the playbook, maybe then he could be a #4 corner, but I doubt he’ll ever be that good.

  397. MadMax Says:

Ghost johnson….preaching make a difference when he couldnt here, smdh!

  398. MadMax Says:

Rankin gone….was hoping for him in the 4th.

Nick Nelson and Desmond Harrison still there.

  399. Capt.Tim Says:

Munch- I see your “eyes” still missed the word rookie.
After that word, everything else you wrote is BullSh*t,
    Because rookies suck.

If you knew what you were talking about- you would be bitching about a defensive coach- that puts a Rookie on Julio Jones. Oh, and also cant produce a pass rush.
But that kind of thought requires a knowledge of football- leaving you out!

I watched Ronde Barber as a rookie, and Ryan Smith.
    Smith looks better

  400. Bucs Guy Says:

What’s with Licht and the 2nd round? Three very questionable picks. Jones terrible, Stewart unknown, Davis OK I guess. Would have preferred any other RB, Oliver and Bates III.

Hopefully we can find a decent OL.

  401. Bucs Guy Says:

Past 2nd rounders Aguyo, ASJ and even Evans last year -though he turned about better than expected. He did pick Smith and Marpet in 2nd though.

  402. Jasonbucs666 Says:

Well after this draft the will have a new GM and coach cause the screwed the pooch again in the second round first pick what ever not the best but it helps the dline out but second magic again from Jason never should be a GM agin

  403. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    We just traded up

  404. bucsfan1988 Says:

Tampa just moved up to 94 in 3rd round!!!!

  405. donuts Says:

this should be interesting for a 4th and 6th rounder in return

  406. Rod Munch Says:

Holy Jesus, ESPN went to a commercial the moment the Bucs traded and handed in their pick. Remarkable.

  407. Wesley Says:

    Another commercial before our pick.

  408. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

You guys are a bunch of flucking cry babies. This draft has gone really well for us. The only pick I question at this point is MJ Stewart over Oliver. But it is clear that we want to play more press coverage and Oliver is more of an off coverage guy. Stop all this whining

  409. donuts Says:

    Alex Cappa Tackle

  410. Bucs Guy Says:

Like this pick. Pewter report called it.

  411. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    NICE!!!!!

  412. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I liked Cappa at the senior bowl. Ali Marpet?

  413. Frank Pillow Says:

Nads of steel Licht. Nads of steel.

  414. Rod Munch Says:

Is he a tackle or a guard? Going from a small school to guard is one thing, going from small school to tackle is very very difficult. Also, yes, people will say Marpet, but Marpet had dominant combine numbers – this guy seems to have nice numbers.

I don’t know enough about this pick, but I do know I loved the Marpet pick at the time. Anywho if he’s a guard I like this a lot more.

  415. ARGH_M8E Says:

Cappa – Mayock got wood over this pick! “THROW EM OUTTA THE CLUB” mauler who finishes. D2 but how’s Ali working out for us?! Nice!!!

  416. Dirks Great Granpappy Says:

I’ll just say that when comparing this guys college film to marpets film..ain’t even close. Marpet looked like a man among boys. This guy looks like everyone else on the tape…like we’re watching hs football. Not too sure about this one.

Definitely would have preferred Oliver over Stewart and I’m qjestioming this one but otherwise a solid draft so far

  417. donuts Says:

Nickname> The Lumberjack. Plays bass in band. See ya Sweezy!

  418. Dirks Great Granpappy Says:

    Whoops **questioning**

  419. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Cost a 4th and 6th. Good deal! Got a BEAST!!!!

  420. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @rod
He was listed as a Tackle, but announced as a Guard at the podium.

  421. Rod Munch Says:

Good to hear he’s at guard, those writing off Sweezy might want to wait a bit – the Bucs might cut him just to get cap space, but this kid most likely isn’t Marpet, he certainly doesn’t have the explosiveness that Marpet had. He seems like more of a project player, which is why he’s a late 3rd round guy, hopefully it works out but he’s not a guy I’d pencil in to start like I did with Marpet.

  422. Rod Munch Says:

Wait, the Bucs gave up their 4th rounder for this? That means the Parrot won’t announce the pick tomorrow, the women and children are going to be devastated.

  423. bucsfan1988 Says:

    Rod, Bucs had 2 4th rounders…Still have pick 117 in 4th 🙂

  424. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod…we still have one 4th rounder from the Pats.

  425. Rod Munch Says:

OK great, if the Parrot doesn’t get to do the pick there’s going to be a lot of angry people out there that want to see a bird. If the Bucs had any guts they’d load the bird up with laxatives and have him leave some turds all over the Cowboys stadium.

  426. lurker Says:

” If the Bucs had any guts they’d load the bird up with laxatives and have him leave some turds all over the Cowboys stadium.”

is that how it’s going to work?
will it not be announced/broadcast from the ship in tampa bay?

  427. Rod Munch Says:

lurker – I had no actual interest in the dumb story and only read the headlines so I just assumed it was in Dallas. Anywho in protest they should have Jeff Garcia go to Dallas and take a dump on stage for not getting to announce the 3rd round pick. I don’t want to see it, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen.
